The experiments were carried out during Rabi season for the three consecutive years of (2012 to 2014) at the Research Farm, College of Horticulture, Mandsaur (M.P.) under AICRP on M&AP, Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Gwalior (M.P.). The treatments consisted of two sowing methods as M1-seed broad casting and M2-line sowing. Five seed rate S1-6, S2-8, S3-10, S4-12 and S5-15 kg/ha. These treatments were evaluated in Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. Significantly maximum plant height was recorded under treatment S5, maximum number of number of branches was recorded under treatment S2, maximum stem girth was recorded under treatment S2 and seed yield was recorded under treatment S2. Ge30-xSe70Snx (8≤x≤20) glasses have been prepared using conventional melt quenching. The kinetics of the glass transition have been studied in terms of the variation of glass transition temperature with composition and heating rate. In addition the activation energy of the glass transition (Et) and its compositional dependence have been investigated using the Kissinger approach. The thermal stability of these glasses has been investigated using different stability parameters such as the kinetic resistance ΔT (Tc-Tg), the weighted thermal stability parameter H' ((Tc-Tg)/Tg) and S ((Tc-Tg) (Tp-Tc)/Tg) in terms of glass transition temperature (Tg), crystallization onset temperature (Tc) and peak crystallization temperature (Tp). It has been found that the thermal stability decreases with the increasing Sn content in the glassy alloys. A glassy sample is more stable if it has a higher kinetic resistance to crystallization. Accordingly, it has been observed that Ge22Se70Sn8 glassy sample is more thermally stable compared to the other members of the series. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

CdS/PVC and ZnS/PVC nanocomposites were prepared by solution mixing taking different wt. % (2, 4, 6 & 8) of CdS and ZnS nanopowders synthesized through the wet chemical method respectively. The morphology of these nanocomposites has been characterized using transmission electron microscopy. The dynamic mechanical analyzer (DMA) was used to study the storage modulus and Tan δ of CdS/PVC and ZnS/PVC. The variation of storage modulus and glass transition temperature for CdS/PVC and ZnS/PVC nanocomposites with filler content has been explained on the basis of dispersion of nano fillers. An effort has also been made to determine the glass transition activation energy using Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann (VFT) equation. A review of the recent work on II-VI semiconducting nanoparticle-polymer nanocomposites is presented. This review is not comprehensive but provides an overview of the processing techniques, trends in mechanical and thermal behaviuor and morphology of nanocomposites.
