Sisal-fiber-reinforced composites have garnered significant attention across various industries owing to their favorable attributes, including cost-effectiveness, biodegradability, and lightweight characteristics. Nevertheless, the need to enhance their mechanical and tribological properties has become imperative to meet the growing demand for high-performance materials. This study explores the impact of tungsten carbide (WC) particle reinforcement on the mechanical and tribological properties of sisal fiber composites. Composites were prepared by incorporating varying WC percentages (3%, 6%, and 9%) into the sisal-fiber–epoxy matrix. Flexural tests revealed a notable increase in flexural strength as WC content increased. Izod impact tests demonstrated superior impact resistance with higher WC content. Furthermore, pin-on-disc wear testing identified enhanced wear resistance in composites containing 9% WC reinforcement. These findings illustrate the potential of WC-reinforced composites for applications necessitating improved strength, impact resistance, and wear resistance, positioning them as promising materials for diverse industries. Jute fiber, a sustainable and abundant material, has garnered attention as a potential reinforcement in composites. This study focuses on enhancing the jute fiber composite strength through the inclusion of Al2O3 nanoparticles at varying levels. Mechanical properties were rigorously examined to evaluate their suitability for high-stress applications. This research encompassed assessments of hardness, flexural strength, tensile strength, and impact resistance. The results indicate that the incorporation of Al2O3 nanoparticles significantly improves the composite mechanical properties. Increasing the Al2O3 content elevates hardness, enhancing resistance to indentation. Flexural strength tests highlight the increased stiffness and deformation resistance, rendering the composites suitable for structural use. Additionally, tensile tests reveal an enhanced load-bearing capacity under tension with higher Al2O3 percentages. An improved impact resistance confirms the durability and the ability to withstand sudden shocks. These findings present promising opportunities for utilizing Al2O3-reinforced jute fiber composites in industries requiring high-strength materials, such as the automotive, aerospace, construction, and sports equipment manufacturing industries, combining sustainability with enhanced mechanical properties. The various following reinforcements like nanographite, titanium diboride (TiB2), silicon nitride (Si3N4), and aluminum 2219 have all been investigated in this study. Current research suggests that TiB2 and graphite may be a suitable reinforcement for Al2219 alloy. The stir casting process was used to make reinforced composites on unreinforced Al2219. Compared to the unreinforced Al2219, the TiB2 and nanographite-reinforced hybrid composites showed the exceptional wear resistance (30%) at 175°C. Matrix strengthening kinetics is improved at 175°C when TiB2 and nano-Gr reinforcement particles are present. The goal of this work is to evaluate the impact of CeO2/ZrO2 (CZ) nanocomposite materials on performance and emission characteristics of direct injection (DI) diesel engine fueled with ternary blends of pumpkin oil methyl ester (PME) and neem oil methyl ester (NME). The blend B20 (10% PME +10% NME +80% diesel) and various CZ nanocomposite blended fuels such as B20CZ25 (B20 +25 ppm CZ), B20CZ50 (B20 +50 ppm CZ), B20CZ75 (B20 +75 ppm CZ), and B20CZ100 (B20 +100 ppm CZ) were prepared and used for analysis. Pumpkin and neem seed oil were chose for this study due to noble economic feasibility, and they were transesterified with methanol and sodium hydroxide (NaOH) in order to get corresponding methyl esters. The experimental findings demonstrates that adding CZ nanocomposite improves brake thermal efficiency (BTE) and reduces brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC) at full load, as well as being beneficial in reducing harmful gases such as carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbon (HC), and nitrogen oxides (NOx). The study suggested that CZ nanocomposite with ternary blend will be a viable new strategy for improving engine performance and lowering emission characteristics without modifying the engine.
