The research is conceptual, introducing a synthetic picture of the teacher-student relationship with the environment in which they develop throughout their lives. Starting from the conception of cognitive and social constructivism (Piaget, 1952; Vîgotsky, 1978) and the alternative Reggio Emilia pedagogy (Hewitt, 2001; Moss, 2019), we use the TPACK model (Mishra & Koehler, 2006). On their foundation, we build a new integrative model in which the development of the professor, the student, and the environment support and influence each other. The model enables understanding of the role of the means and the prioritization of the unity of interests and ideals of the people who relate. The TPACK model serves as a relevant example to illustrate the benefits of technology and its relationship with pedagogy. The 3PT&Ii model situates technology as both a source of teaching tools and a mediator of relationships with other established discoveries in human and societal development. 3PT&Ii eliminates the error of an obsessive demand for schools to solely adapt to new technologies, arguing instead that humanity constantly refines and adapts means according to evolving needs and expectations. Technology and its tools have consistently played integral roles and meanings. The model emphasizes that humans produce everything, including innovative technologies, with decisions resting within individuals, communities, and society. The 3PT&Ii model is explanatory and illustrative, providing a framework for understanding individual, group, and societal development. Definitions of communication often oversimplify the relationship between Sender - Channel - Receiver and Feedback; digitization allows for dynamic imagery, and we aim to present the model accordingly. Explanations of the 3PT&Ii model are rooted in the T-time axis and directed towards the educational ideal represented by I.

Although clozapine has never been approved for the treatment of BD, it is occasionally used in severe mania. The aim of the study is to evaluate the risks and benefits of switching clozapine in remitted BD patients. This is an observational, mirror image study of 62 consecutive remitted BD outpatients treated with clozapine. Twenty-five patients were switched to another antipsychotic following a change in a drug reimbursement rule, while 37 continued on clozapine. The mean time in remission was shorter for the switched group (9.2±4 months vs 13±6 months, P=0.018), and the number of patients who relapsed was larger (n=21 vs n=8, P

More than 200 states up to 4.1 MeV excitation have been populated in Er168 with the Er170(p,t) reaction at 25 MeV incident energy. About 80 of these states, with 0+ and 2+ assignments, were reported in a previous publication [D. Bucurescu et al., Phys. Rev. C 73, 064309 (2006)0556-281310.1103/PhysRevC.73.064309]. The present work considerably enriches the knowledge of this nucleus. A multistep coupled-channels analysis of the angular distributions is now presented for all the states observed in this experiment. Spin and parity values between 0+ and 7- are newly assigned for more than 100 states. For the states already reported in the ENSDF database with Jπ values there is a good agreement with our values. The Er168 nucleus remains one of the best experimentally known nuclei for states with low and medium spins below 4 MeV excitation energy, representing a challenge for future microscopic structure model calculations aiming to disentangle the contributions of different excitation degrees of freedom.

The increasing presence of plastics in the environment has raised concerns about their potential impact, especially as carriers of heavy metals such as Cd, Ni, and Pb. However, the adsorption mechanism of heavy metals on microplastics remains poorly understood. In this study, we investigated the adsorption behavior of Cd, Ni, and Pb by polystyrene (PS) and polypropylene (PP) microplastics to better comprehend their interaction and potential environmental implications. Our results revealed that equilibrium adsorption of microplastics with different heavy metals was achieved within a 6-h contact time. The FTIR analysis findings, which suggest that physical interactions play a significant role in the adsorption of heavy metals onto microplastics, are further supported by the observed changes in surface morphology after adsorption. We explored the influence of solution pH, contact duration, and initial concentration on the adsorption capacity and found significant effects on the adsorption behavior. To model the adsorption process, we applied Langmuir and Freundlich adsorption isotherm models and observed that the Langmuir model better fit the experimental data. Furthermore, we compared the pseudo-first and pseudo-second-order kinetic models and found that the pseudo-second-order model provided a more accurate description of the adsorption kinetics. Notably, the adsorption percentages varied depending on the type of microplastic and experimental conditions. Overall, this study enhances our understanding of the adsorption mechanism of heavy metals on microplastics and provides valuable insights into their behavior in aquatic environments. These findings have implications for the development of effective strategies for mitigating pollution caused by microplastics and heavy metals in aquatic ecosystems.

A free-range organic broiler (Gallus gallus domesticus) premises in Staffordshire was infected by high pathogenicity avian influenza virus (HPAIV) H5N8 during the 2020–2021 epizootic in the United Kingdom (UK). Following initial confirmation of the infection in poultry, multiple wild bird species were seen scavenging on chicken carcasses. Detected dead wild birds were subsequently demonstrated to have been infected and succumbed to HPAIV H5N8. Initially, scavenging species, magpie (Pica pica) and raven (Corvus corax) were found dead on the premises but over the following days, buzzards (Buteo buteo) were also found dead within the local area with positive detection of HPAIV in submitted carcasses. The subacute nature of microscopic lesions within a buzzard was consistent with the timeframe of infection. Finally, a considerable number of free-living pheasants (Phasianus colchicus) were also found dead in the surrounding area, with carcasses having higher viral antigen loads compared to infected chickens. Limited virus dissemination was observed in the carcasses of the magpie, raven, and buzzard. Further, an avirulent avian paramyxovirus type 1 (APMV-1) was detected within poultry samples as well as in the viscera of a magpie infected with HPAIV. Immunohistochemistry did not reveal colocalization of avian paramyxovirus antigens with lesions, supporting an avirulent APMV-1 infection. Overall, this case highlights scenarios in which bi-directional transmission of avian viral diseases between commercial and wild bird species may occur. It also underlines the importance of bio separation and reduced access when infection pressure from HPAIV is high.

The idea of this paper was developed in our minds by seeing a lot of things which could be transformed, to create friendly objects for the people. To create and build a sensory design means to have a lot of inventiveness, to learn about the psychological and physiological challenges. It is about the senses of human being to communicate with others and, of course, with the environmental world. We have agreed that the most important things are touch and sight. In this paper we have developed a few objects which are in accordance with the term of sensory design. We have learned interesting information about sensory design from other authors and we have presented a few of their creations.

This paper has tried to explain the importance of the general and special principles in logo design. The study was realized on a lot of logos to understand when a designer could use the principles to create wonderful graphic representations. It is about symmetry, asymmetry, proportion, rhythm and harmony, substitution, juxtaposition, using different geometric shapes, lines, curves, silhouettes and stylizations, mirror and illustrative representation and so on. We have explained how to use graphic representations in some fields of activity and to choose the best symbol for a company/university etc. And, of course, it was a significant part about the redesign working. This paper presents a few interpretations and conclusions concerning the design principles applied for logos.

This paper has tried to answer to a question: Is it important to use signs, symbols and pictograms to create a graphic and visual language, to communicate between people all over the world? And the answer is YES and will be explained in this paper. These graphic representations can be found in universities and schools, hospitals, airports, museums, libraries, network communication, business centres etc. But why are they so important? Because they inform, guide, allow, prohibit or warn depending on the situation. In our actual world visual communication without written language has become necessary. The main direction of the study was to present/design signage maps, as training models using signs, symbols, colours and pictograms.

AbstractThis study explored the relationship between students’ learning styles and their learning process through Kahoot in developing competencies within a target group of 89 high school students from Technical College "Dimitrie Ghika”, Romania. Initially, the students’ learning styles were identified using Reid’s VAK model. As a second step, the teacher created learning opportunities where information was available via each learning style by introducing a creative and innovative pedagogical method – Geography experiential learning using the Kahoot method. The last stage of the research tested the working hypothesis on the correlations between the learning styles of the students – the teaching strategy used (Kahoot) and its benefits in the formation of competences. The results showed that most students had 2-3 well developed learning styles, which made their learning with Kahoot easier. The findings showed that Visual has a major contribution (78%) in the development of concentration capacity, in the perception that Kahoot is a learner-centred method (79%) and in fostering thinking and memory (36%). Auditory science makes a significant contribution to creating associations with benefits such as learning from mistakes (88%), stimulating thinking and memory (55%), improving STEM skills (52%), creative methods (40%), and not inhibiting (86%). The practical style has a particular contribution to establishing correlations with the benefits of inserting maps and images (89%), carrying out mental reasoning (72%), logical and intuitive thinking (61%), usefulness in preparing for assignments and Baccalaureate (63%). The benefits of learning outcomes (the formation of skills) were highlighted by adapting the teaching strategy (Kahoot) to the particularities of students (learning styles).

Organophosphate ester flame retardants (OPFRs) are ubiquitous organic pollutants in the environment and present an important preoccupation due to their potential toxicity to humans and biota. They can be found in various sources, including consumer products, building materials, transportation industry, electronic devices, textiles and clothing, and recycling and waste management. This paper presents the first survey of its kind in Romania, investigating the composition, distribution, possible sources, and environmental risks of OPFRs in five wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and the rivers receiving their effluents. Samples from WWTPs and surface waters were collected and subjected to extraction processes to determine the OPFRs using liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detection. All the target OPFRs were found in all the matrices, with the average concentrations ranging from 0.6 to 1422 ng/L in wastewater, 0.88 to 1851 ng/g dry weight (d.w.) in sewage sludge, and 0.73 to 1036 ng/L in surface waters. The dominant compound in all the cases was tri(2-chloroisopropyl) phosphate (TCPP). This study observed that the wastewater treatment process was inefficient, with removal efficiencies below 50% for all five WWTPs. The environmental risk assessment indicated that almost all the targeted OPFRs pose a low risk, while TDCPP, TCPP, and TMPP could pose a moderate risk to certain aquatic species. These findings provide valuable information for international pollution research and enable the development of pollution control strategies.

Despite the known benefits of physical activity, there is a worldwide trend towards less daily physical activity. According to the latest Eurobarometer, 63% of the population of our country never do physical exercises or sports, placing them at the bottom of the ranking of EU countries. The present study aims to identify the share of physical activities in the free time budget of young people. Thus, it is desired that, through a sociological investigation, to investigate whether young people in the Oltenia area actively spend their free time. Methods. The research was carried out between April and June 2022 and consisted of the development, transmission, and interpretation of the data of a questionnaire applied in the online system, on the google.doc platform. The questionnaire contained 15 items referring to the free time of young people, which were answered by 71 young people under conditions of anonymity. Results. According to the literature, Romania maintains a close trade relationship, in terms of agri-food products, with Germany, especially the import-export relationship, thus, Romania imports either in terms of value the most, or in terms of assortment diversification, most from Germany. Thus, in this paper, the aim is to carry out an analysis of all the chapters of the Combined Nomenclature, related to the agri-food sector to determine the key chapters in terms of demand in Romania, using the ABC method which can structure the range of products in three categories of importance.

This paper reports results obtained using white light diffraction phase microscopy (wDPM) on captured images of breast and colon tissue samples, marking a contribution to the advancement in biomedical imaging. Unlike conventional brightfield microscopy, wDPM offers the capability to capture intricate details of biological specimens with enhanced clarity and precision. It combines high resolution, enhanced contrast, and quantitative capabilities with non-invasive, label-free imaging. These features make it a useful tool for tissue imaging, providing detailed and accurate insights into tissue structure and dynamics without compromising the integrity of the samples. Our findings underscore the potential of quantitative phase imaging in histopathology, in the context of automating the process of tissue analysis and diagnosis. Of particular note are the insights gained from the reconstructed phase images, which provide physical data regarding peripheral glandular cell membranes. These observations serve to focus attention on pathologies involving the basal membrane, such as early invasive carcinoma. Through our analysis, we aim to contribute to catalyzing further advancements in tissue (breast and colon) imaging.

The aim of this study was to develop new materials with adsorbent properties that can be used for the adsorption recovery of Au(III) from aqueous solutions. To achieve this result, it is necessary to obtain inexpensive adsorbent materials in a granular form. Concomitantly, these materials must have a high adsorption capacity and selectivity. Other desired properties of these materials include a higher physical resistance, insolubility in water, and materials that can be regenerated or reused. Among the methods applied for the separation, purification, and preconcentration of platinum-group metal ions, adsorption is recognised as one of the most promising methods because of its simplicity, high efficiency, and wide availability. The studies were carried out using three supports: cellulose (CE), chitosan (Chi), and diatomea earth (Diat). These supports were functionalised by impregnation with extractants, using the ultrasound method. The extractants are environmentally friendly and relatively cheap amino acids, which contain in their structure pendant groups with nitrogen and sulphur heteroatoms (aspartic acid—Asp, l-glutamic acid—Glu, valine—Val, DL-cysteine—Cys, or serine—Ser). After preliminary testing from 75 synthesised materials, CE-Cys was chosen for the further recovery of Au(III) ions from aqueous solutions. To highlight the morphology and the functionalisation of the material, we physicochemically characterised the obtained material. Therefore, the analysis of the specific surface and porosity showed that the CE-Cys material has a specific surface of 4.6 m2/g, with a porosity of about 3 nm. The FT-IR analysis showed the presence, at a wavelength of 3340 cm−1, of the specific NH bond vibration for cysteine. At the same time, pHpZc was determined to be 2.8. The kinetic, thermodynamic, and equilibrium studies showed that the pseudo-second-order kinetic model best describes the adsorption process of Au(III) ions on the CE-Cys material. A maximum adsorption capacity of 12.18 mg per gram of the adsorbent material was achieved. It was established that the CE-Cys material can be reused five times with a good recovery degree.

Background: End-of-life care raises ethical, moral, legal and economic dilemmas, especially when physicians have to decide whether to initiate or to stop treatments that may be considered disproportionate and futile. Aim: To explore the opinion of health care professionals involved in end-of-life patient care on interventions considered disproportionate and futile at this stage of care, the causes and factors of pressure leading to such situations, and possible solutions to reduce the phenomenon. Material and method: The study used an adapted, designed questionnaire intended for health professionals caring for patients at the end of life. The 128 respondents were physicians, nurses, psychologists and social workers who expressed their opinions about therapeutic obstinacy in end-of-life care. Results: The results of the research highlight the role of the family as a pressure factor, the causes related to the non-acceptance of the prognosis and diagnosis of a terminal condition, fear of death and ignorance of the patient’s wishes. Interventions considered disproportionate at the end of life were cardiopulmonary resuscitation, mechanical ventilation, transfusion of blood derivatives, complex diagnostic investigations and the establishment of gastrostomy/jejunostomy in the last days of life. Conclusions: End-of-life therapeutic obstinacy is a reality in end-of-life care, and healthcare professionals face many ethical challenges in this process. Care decisions must be made together with the patient and their family, respecting the rights, dignity and respect of all parties involved in the process.
