This study is an attempt to explore the awareness and use of mobile apps among the farmers of Ambala and Yamunanagar districts of Haryana state of India. This study aimed to determine how different mobile applications were being used by the farmers in agricultural practices. For the present study, survey method was adopted using questionnaire with the aid of interview as a data gathering tool. For data collection, during March-April, 2023, copies of self designed questionnaire were distributed manually on random basis among 300 farmers of six areas/blocks of two districts of Ambala and Yamunanagar. Out of total 300 administered questionnaires, interestingly all the questionnaires were received back and found valid for analysis and thus 100% response rate has been achieved. The study revealed that about 80% of the farmers were familiar with the use of ICT and mobile phone applications in various farming practices. The study also found that 42% of the respondents/farmers find easy to use various mobile apps in farming practices and 75.66% of the respondents were using different mobile phone applications for getting information about pest and disease control in crops. More than 75% of the farmers/respondents were in the opinion that mobile apps are quiet useful in their farming practices to get the required information timely. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The present study is aimed to explore the impact of COVID-19 on the reading habits of agricultural science students of the Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (UBKV), Pundibari, Cooch Behar (West Bengal), India. A questionnaire-based survey method has been adopted to explore reading habits. The copies of the selfdesigned questionnaire have been distributed among 200 agricultural science students of the University. Some questionnaires are distributed manually to the students and some are by e-mail and social media. Out of distributed questionnaires, 182 filled-in questionnaires were properly received back with an overall response rate of @91%. It was found that about 70 percent of the respondents were enjoyed reading during the COVID-19 pandemic or lockdown period and about 57 percent of the respondents were habitual to reading every day. Nearly 42 percent of the respondents spent five-eight hours every day reading, whereas, about 21 percent of respondents spent 2-5 hours every day during the pandemic period. Furthermore, it was also found that about 77 percent of the respondents were involved in chatting on social media, while nearly 70 percent of the respondents were busy reading during the COVID-19 pandemic period. The researchers concluded that the reading habits of the agricultural science students are affected during the pandemic period; however, the majority of the respondents are enjoying their reading time during the pandemic period. The aim of the present study is to explore the awareness and use of ICT-based library and information services among the agricultural science students of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (UBKV), Pundibari, Cooch Behar (West Bengal), India. An online questionnaire-based survey has been carried out to collect the data from the students of Uttar Banga Krishi Viswavidyalaya (UBKV), Pundibari, Cooch Behar of the state of West Bengal, India. The online questionnaire was shared among 200 respondents, of whom 159 have responded, which gives a response rate of 79.50%. The findings show that all the respondents were aware of and using the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC)/Web-OPAC services. Around 91.82 per cent of the respondents were aware of the use of e-journals and 86.80 per cent were aware of the use of e-books for their academic and research purposes. About 76.73 per cent of the respondents were aware of the use of the Consortium for Electronic Resources in Agriculture (CeRA), Krishikosh repository, Agricat union catalogue, and so on, and the e-resources packages and related services. The findings also reveal some of the problems encountered by the respondents. On the basis of the feedback from the respondents, some valuable suggestions have also been given by the researchers. The purpose of this article was to explore the pattern of publications, using bibliometric analysis, of Journal of Documentation for the period of 2005 to 2018. The results of the study shows that a total of 687 articles were published in the 14 years period from 2005 to 2018, with 71 (10.3%) articles being published the highest total in the year 2018. The study confirmed that the maximum number of articles i.e. 304 (43.9%), were published by single authors, out of which, a large number were on research articles. Out of total number of articles published 228 (33.1%) were 16-20 pages in length. Volume number 74 in 2018 had the highest number of citations with a total of 91 (13.6%). In addition, the study confirmed that the highest number of articles were research articles with a total of 493 (71.7), while others were case studies, conceptual studies, literature reviews, viewpoints and technical papers and short communications, etc. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Education will play an important role in everyone's life. Education made the life disciplined in students and develops ethics among them to become an informed and civilized human being. In every education system, students, teachers and contents are playing very important role equally. If students are the main factor in education system then teachers are the backbone of the system that will shape the future of aspirant students. Before making the students aware and educated, teachers must be well versed in his concerned field of specialization. Teachers should be updating their knowledge by the means of various ways such as refresher courses, orientations, inductions, training programme and seminars, etc. The present study, reported the result of survey conducted among the fraternity of agricultural and allied sciences about the relevance and quality of the Refresher Course in Educational Technology conducted by the Academy of Agricultural Research & Education Management, Directorate of Human Resource Management, CCS HAU, Hisar (India). The participants in the said interdisciplinary refresher course come from agricultural sciences, veterinary sciences, extension management and library science. The present study is based on the bibliometric analysis of 161 articles published in 09 volumes (24-32) of 18 issues of Indian Journal of Agricultural Library and Information Services (IJALIS) for the period of nine years (2008-2016). This article brings out the results of a bibliometric study carried on all the issues of the source journal (IJALIS) on various parameters such as authorship pattern, gender wise distribution of papers, length of papers, average number of references, volume & issue wise average papers, geographical distribution of articles, range of reference cited and most prolific authors of the journal. The study finds that on an average, 18 research articles were published per volume in a year during the period of study, whereas, maximum number (39.75%) of articles was two authored followed by single authored (32.36%). This paper highlights the results of a research study conducted to compare the current status, performance, resources and services provided by the libraries of selected Engineering College of Bareilly region of Uttar Pradesh and Dehradun region of Uttarakhand. The main purpose of the study was to know the state of art-infrastructure, current ICT- infrastructure, IT based services, Internet facility, staff strength, collection, services and present scenario of engineering college libraries. The main aim of public library or any type of library is to satisfy as many users as possible by utilizing resources optimally. Libraries, especially public libraries are often considered an essential part of having an educated and literate population and generally offering resources for entertainment, leisure purposes and for educational purposes as well. The present study discusses the current state of the Public Library System in Chandigarh. T.S. Central State Library, Sector-17 is older than Divisional Library (South), Sector-34. Both of the libraries are automated using LibSys Library management software. CSL has 2, 40, 270 volumes of books whereas DL (S) has above 1, 10,000. Registered member in the CSL is more than 40,772 and in DL (S) membership are more than 10900.
