The SWItch3-related gene (SRG3) is a core component of ATP-dependent SWI/SNF complexes, which are crucial for regulating immune cell development and function (e.g., macrophages and CD4+ T cells), embryonic development, and non-immune cell differentiation. Notably, SRG3 overexpression has been shown to polarize macrophages in the central nervous system toward an anti-inflammatory M2 phenotype, thereby protecting against the development of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis in mice. However, the effect of SRG3 on immune responses in adipose tissues remains unclear. To address this issue, we examined the cellularity and inflammatory status of adipose tissue in B10.PL mice overexpressing the SRG3 gene under the ubiquitous β-actin promoter (SRG3β-actin). Interestingly, SRG3 overexpression significantly reduced adipocyte size in both white and brown adipose tissues, without affecting the overall adipose tissue weight. Such phenotypic effects might be associated with the improved glucose tolerance observed in SRG3β-actin B10.PL mice. Moreover, we found that SRG3 overexpression down-regulates IL1β-expressing M1 macrophages, leading to a significant decrease in the M1/M2 macrophage ratio. Additionally, SRG3β-actin B10.PL mice showed a dramatic reduction in neutrophils as well as IL1β- and IL17-producing T cells in adipose tissues. While virtual reality tourism can stimulate positive emotions in tourists, the impact of these emotions on tourist participation, value co-creation processes, and the role of awe in tourism remain largely unexplored. This study is the first to explore the antecedents of co-creation in virtual reality tourism and reveal the role of awe in shaping co-creation. It investigated how awe induced by virtual scenic attractions can enhance tourists' experience and collaborative participation. An online survey utilizing the "Zhangjiajie Planet" XR metaverse platform served as the research stimulus. Data analysis was conducted on 556 valid responses collected from the survey, employing SPSS and AMOS for statistical evaluation. Awe was directly related to value co-creation and indirectly affected value co-creation through telepresence and content attachment. Difenoconazole (DIF) is a fungicide used to control various fungi. It is absorbed on the surface of different plants and contributes significantly to increased crop production. However, DIF is reported to exhibit toxicity to fungi and to aquatic plants, fish, and mammals, including humans, causing adverse effects. However, research on the impact of DIF on the mammary epithelial cells of herbivorous bovines is limited. DIF-induced damage and accumulation in the mammary glands can have direct and indirect effects on humans. Therefore, we investigated the effects and mechanisms of DIF toxicity in MAC-T cells. The current study revealed that DIF reduces cell viability and proliferation while triggering apoptotic cell death through the upregulation of pro-apoptotic proteins, including cleaved caspase 3 and Bcl-2-associated X protein (BAX), and the downregulation of leukemia type 2 (BCL-2). DIF also induced endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress by increasing the expression of genes or proteins of Bip/GRP78, protein disulfide isomerase (PDI), activating transcription factor 4 (ATF4), C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), and endoplasmic reticulum oxidoreductase 1 Alpha (ERO1-Lα). We demonstrated that DIF induces mitochondria-mediated apoptosis in MAC-T cells by activating ER stress pathways. This cellular damage resulted in a significant increase in the expression of inflammatory response genes and proteins, including cyclooxygenase 2 (COX2), transforming growth factor beta 3 (TGFB3), CCAAT enhancer binding protein delta (CEBPD), and iNOS, in DIF-treated groups. In addition, spheroid formation by MAC-T cells was suppressed by DIF treatment. Graphene oxide (GO), a carbon-based material with oxygen-containing functional groups, can be applied in biomedicine for drug delivery, cancer therapy, and tissue regeneration. We have previously shown that nanoscale-sized graphene oxide (NGO), an oxidized graphene derivative, exhibits effective anti-inflammatory activity in a murine model of sepsis mediated by T helper (Th)1-promoting cytokines such as IFNγ and TNFα. However, whether NGO influences Th2-induced skin inflammation remains unclear. To address this issue, we employed an ovalbumin (OVA) plus aluminum hydroxide (Alum)-induced Th2-mediated skin inflammation model in conjunction with OVA-specific DO11.10 T cell receptor transgenic Balb/c mice. In vivo NGO injection upon OVA/Alum sensitization down-regulated OVA-elicited antigen-specific Th2 cells and GATA3-expressing Th2-type regulatory T cells. Next, we examined the effect of NGO injection on OVA/Alum-induced atopic dermatitis (AD)-like skin inflammation. NGO-injected mice exhibited significantly decreased Th2 disease phenotypes (e.g., a lower clinical score, decreased epidermal thickness and Th2 cell differentiation, and fewer infiltrated mast cells and basophils in skin lesions) compared with vehicle-injected control mice. Pancreatic cancer is often diagnosed at advanced stage, where chemotherapy is the mainstay of treatment. Despite new chemotherapy regimens improving overall survival over the past decade, the median survival for advanced pancreatic cancer remains around one year. However, we occasionally encounter long-term survivors among patients with advanced pancreatic cancer. Analyzing these cases may provide valuable insights for understanding pancreatic cancer and improving treatment strategies. We report a case of 61-year-old patient with metastatic pancreatic cancer who survived for approximately five years. Single-cell transcriptome analysis of tissues obtained at the time of pancreatic cancer diagnosis and at 57 months post-diagnosis revealed changes in the tumor immune microenvironment.
