The indexing language proposed in Nuovo Soggettario is based on the analytical-synthetic model. The rules established for citation order within the subjects strings are not based on the semantic category the terms belong to, rather solely on the syntactic roles analysis. This work that has gone hand in hand with the work on the thesaurus, was aimed at producing the final syntactic norms for the building of subject strings. The whole work, tested on complex bibliographic examples, representing subjects of different levels of complexity, allowed us to verify and confirm the validity of the new language basic principles, including its easy-to-teach and learn indexing language feature.

L'Agence bibliographique nationale italienne, responsable de la Bibliographie nationale italienne (BNI) et basée á la Bibliothèque nationale centrale de Florence (BNCF), dérive la majorité de ses enregistrements bibliographiques du National Library Service Union Catalogue, la base de données bibliographique en ligne utilisées par plus de 3200 bibliothèques d'état, publiques et universitaires dans toute l'Italie. Cette activité, ainsi que d'autres types de collaboration de l'Agence bibliographique nationale italienne, sont en cours de développement, grâce á : l'introduction d'une nouvelle loi de dépôt légal italienne, qui aura un effet direct sur les services bibliographiques nationaux ; des initiatives de réorganisation au sein du département responsable pour la BNI, visant á une couverture plus efficace et plus économique de la BNI ; l'adoption récente d'outils de catalogage et d'indexation mis á jour, qui peuvent être partagés au sein d'un système intégré de coopération entre bibliothèques. Ce document présente des exemples de collaboration de l'Agence bibliographique nationale italienne avec d'autres producteurs institutionnels et privés de données bibliographiques et les initiatives de cette agence pour augmenter le nombre d'enregistrements bibliographiques dans les diverses collections de la BNI. La Agencia Bibliográfica Nacional Italiana, responsable de la Bibliografía Nacional Italiana (BNI) y cuya sede está en la Biblioteca Nacional Central de Florencia (BNCF), obtiene la mayoría de sus registros bibliográficos del Servicio del Catálogo Colectivo de la Biblioteca Nacional, la base de datos bibliográfica en línea utilizada por más de 3.200 bibliotecas gubernamentales, públicas y universitarias repartidas por toda Italia. Ésta y otras relaciones de colaboración de la Agencia Bibliográfica Nacional Italiana se encuentran en fase de desarrollo debido a: la introducción de una nueva ley sobre el Depósito Legal italiano que tendrá un efecto directo en los servicios bibliográficos nacionales; los proyectos de reorganización del departamento responsable de la BNI, encaminados a una cobertura más eficaz y puntual de la BNI; la reciente adopción de herramientas renovadas para la catalogación e indización que pueden compartirse en un sistema bibliotecario integrado y cooperativo. Esta ponencia muestra ejemplos de colaboración de la Agencia Bibliográfica Nacional Italiana con otros productores de datos bibliográficos, institucionales y privados, y las iniciativas de esta Agencia para incrementar el número de registros bibliográficos en las diferentes series de la BNI. The Italian National Bibliographic Agency, responsible for the Italian National Bibliography (BNI) and based at the National Central Library of Florence (BNCF), derives the majority of its bibliographic records from the National Library Service Union Catalogue, the online bibliographic database used by over 3,200 government, public and university libraries throughout Italy. This and other Italian National Bibliographic Agency's collaborative relationships are in a phase of development, owing to: the introduction of a new Italian legal deposit law, which will have a direct effect upon the national bibliographic services; the reorganisation initiatives within the department responsible for the BNI, aimed at a more effective coverage and timeliness of the BNI; the recent adoption of renewed cataloguing and indexing tools, that can be shared within an integrated and cooperative library system. This paper presents examples of the Italian National Bibliographic Agency's collaboration with other institutional and private bibliographic data producers and this Agency's initiatives to increase the number of bibliographic records in the BNI's various series.
