13. SARS‐Cov‐2 in peritoneal fluid of two children with COVID‐19: A rare finding.

Abstract

We suggest extending testing to all patients undergoing gastrointestinal surgery who have had recently demonstrated SARS-CoV-2 infection (even if they tested negative on admission on nasal swab). We detected SARS-CoV-2 in peritoneal fluid from two children with prior nasopharyngeal detection of SARS-CoV-2 who developed complicated appendicitis. Similarly, patients with a recently demonstrated SARS-CoV-2 infection (although tested negative on admission on nasal swab) should be considered SARS-CoV-2 positive, as per the use of PPE and for the setting of the operating room. Abstract

In a newborn with a tender mass in laterocervical region do not forget the diagnosis of haemangiolymphangioma may be associated to other vascular malformations. A fetal magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) at the same gestational age confirmed the dilatation of the superior cava vein and demonstrated the four polmonary veins that normally returned to left atrium, ruling out an anomalous pulmonary venous connection. Thompson in 1979 used a clinical classification and listed HLA to be a poor prognosis vascular malformation.[4] In 1982, Mullikin and Glowacki[5] classified the vascular malformations in two large groups namely haemangiomas and vascular malformations. Prenatal diagnosis of this condition is difficult and may be distinguished from other vascular or cystic malformations. [Extracted from the article]
