Abstract

The gut microbiota is a powerful 'organ' composed of prokaryotic organisms (bacteria), eukaryotic microorganisms (including fungi and protozoa) and viruses, which plays a crucial role in the nutrition metabolism, maintenance of the integrity of intestinal mucosal barrier, and immune regulation of the body. Researches have shown that intestinal microecology is related to the pathogenesis of many diseases, such as neuropsychiatric diseases, autoimmune diseases, cancer and chronic metabolic diseases. Recent studies have found that gut microbiota can regulate hemodynamics through the oxidation of trimethylamine and short chain fatty acids. At the same time, gut microbiota disorder and translocation can activate the body's inflammatory response, affecting the stability of the body's hemodynamics.In this article, we summarize the relationship between gut microbiota and hemodymamics, in order to provide reference for further research.

Abstract

Solution‐based methods for fabricating all‐inorganic perovskite film arrays often suffer from limited control over nucleation and crystallization, resulting in poor homogeneity and coverage. To improve film quality, advanced vapor deposition techniques are employed for continuous film. Here, the vapor deposition strategy to the all‐inorganic perovskite films array, enabling area‐selective deposition of perovskite through substrate modulation is expanded. It can yield a high‐quality perovskite film array with different pixel shapes, various perovskite compositions, and a high resolution of 423 dpi. The resulting photodetector arrays exhibit remarkable optoelectronic performance with an on/off ratio of 13 887 and responsivity of 47.5 A W−1. The device also displays long‐term stability in a damp condition for up to 12 h. Moreover, a pulse monitoring sensor based on the perovskite films array demonstrates stable monitoring for pulse signals after being worn for 12 h and with a low illumination of 0.055 mW cm−2, highlighting the potential application in wearable optoelectronic devices. 30. Human blood metabolites and risk of sepsis: A Mendelian randomization investigation.

Abstract

Background: Evidence supports the observational correlations between human blood metabolites and sepsis. However, whether these associations represent a causal relationship is unknown. In this study, we applied two‐sample Mendelian randomization (MR) analyses to examine causality between genetically proxied 486 blood metabolites and sepsis risk. Methods: We used summary data from genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) on 486 metabolites involving 7824 individuals as exposure and a sepsis GWAS including 11,643 cases and 474,841 controls as the outcome. The inverse‐variance weighted (IVW) was the primary method to estimate the causal relationship between exposure and outcome, with MR‐Egger and weighted median serving as supplements. Sensitivity analyses were implemented with Cochrane's Q test, MR‐Egger intercept, MR‐PRESSO and leave‐one‐out analysis. In addition, we performed replication MR, meta‐analysis, Steiger test, linkage disequilibrium score (LDSC) regression and multivariable MR (MVMR) to thoroughly verify the causation. Results: We identified that genetically determined high levels of 1‐oleoylglycerophosphoethanolamine (odds ratio (OR) =.52, 95% confidence interval (CI):.31–.87, p =.0122), alpha‐glutamyltyrosine (OR =.75, 95% CI:.60–.93, p =.0102), heptanoate (7:0) (OR =.51, 95% CI:.33–.81, p =.0041) and saccharin (OR =.84, 95% CI:.74–.94, p =.0036) were causally associated with a lower risk of sepsis. MVMR analysis demonstrated the independent causal effect of these metabolites on sepsis. Conclusions: These findings indicated that four blood metabolites have a protective impact on sepsis, thus providing novel perspectives into the metabolite‐mediated development mechanism of sepsis by combining genomics and metabolomics. Abstract

Flexible ultraviolet (UV) photodetector exhibits a promising application in portable electronic gadgets, display devices and biomedical imaging. In this study, a flexible photoanode of the photoelectrochemical (PEC)-type UV photodetector based on rutile TiO2 nanowires (TiO2 NWs) grown on carbon fiber cloth is realized. In photovoltaic applications, an insulating layer is usually introduced to suppress interfacial recombination and reduce the surface trap states. The interfacial recombination of semiconductor/electrolyte is suppressed by coating an Al2O3 barrier layer on the TiO2 NWs. The photodetectors of the TiO2@Al2O3 NWs show stable photocurrent, a high light/dark current ratio (I light/ I dark) of 1170, a faster rise and decay response times of 0.09 and 0.09 s, and excellent spectral selectivity from 300 to 400 nm. The peak responsivity of the photodetectors reaches 2.8 mA W−1 at 360 nm. This flexible photoanode have a potential application in wearable PEC UV photodetector. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
