Crystallographic, spectroscopic and potentiometric techniques are used in an analysis of structures and stabilities of metal(II) complexes of tyrosine- (tyr-) containing dipeptide (L), L-tyr.X (X = glycine (gly), L-/D-alanine, -tyr, -tryptophan and -phenylalanine) and diamines (DA = ethylenediamine (en), 2,2'-bipyridine (bpy) and 1,10-phenanthroline (phen)). Stabilization of Cu(DA)(L) is validated. Intramolecular stacking can control the conformation of side chain aromatic rings and coordination structures.

The estimation of allyl palladium complexes with the MM2 force field is facilitated by indicators of molecular mechanics that have been designed. The MM2 force field was selected because it is the most elaborately examined, it allows several scientists to access different implementations and it permits them to add additional indicators without difficulty. The bond between palladium and the ligands was stimulated by using virtual (dummy) atoms. The group of indicators was used to measure syn-anti equilibrium data for substituted crotyl palladium complexes, with 2,9-disubstituted phenanthrolines as ligands. The force field is sufficiently precise to assist in the formation of new auxiliary ligands to be employed in specific transformations.

Annulation processes are important in organic synthesis reactions. The utility of the intramolecular pi-allylpalladium displacement processes for the synthesis of medium-ring compounds has been studied. Nitrogen heterocycles were synthesized by palladium-catalyzed annulation of allenes. Seven-membered-ring products were readily formed, but eight-membered rings required higher temperatures and longer reactions times. The best results for nine-membered ring products were achieved using halides and tosylamides.

The catalysis of the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) of a noncatalytic material could occur by co-deposition, rather than pre-deposition. This process could be termed catalyst-enhanced chemical vapor deposition (CECVD). It is demonstrated that CECVD using a palladium precursor is possible. It is also shown that it can effectively lower the temperature of CVD of films of yttria or zirconia from beta-diketonate precursors.
