Se describe un caso de dermatitis granulomatosa de la membrana nictitante en una gata no castrada de siete años causada por Leishmania spp.

Se presentó a nuestro hospital una hembra cruzada de 10 kg. de peso y diez años de edad con signos de tetraplejia. Esta sintomatología se desarrolló en un curso de unos diez días. La exploración neurológica localizó la lesión en los segmentos medulares cérvico-torácicos. En la mielografía se observó una imagen intramedular que se detenía a nivel de C6. La histopatología nos dio el diagnóstico definitivo. A ten-year-old intact female mixed-breed dog was presented with signs of tetraplegia. These neurological signs were developed in a course of ten days. The neurologyc examination localized the lession in the cervico-thoracic spinal cord segments. In the myelogram we found an intramedullary image that stopped the contrast medium at C6 level. The histopathology gave us the definitive diagnosis.

Se diagnosticó un caso de metástasis ósea de un hemangiosarcoma esplénico subclínico, produciendo una cojera severa y continuada. El tumor produjo una fractura patológica en el húmero proximal, haciéndose intraarticular e invadiendo la membrana sinovial de la articulación escápulo-humeral. La importancia de la artrocentesis y análisis del líquido sinovial como técnicas diagnósticas auxiliares en la investigación de patologías articulares y periarticulares es puesta de manifiesto en este caso. Asimismo, se hace una revisión de diversos aspectos clínicos del hemangiosarcoma canino. A case of osseous metastasis from an asymptomatic splenic haemangiosarcoma, which produced asevere and continous lameness, was diagnosed. The tumour produced a pathological fracture in the proximal humerus and invaded the synovial membrane of the shoulder joint. The value of arthrocentesis and synovial fluid analysis as auxiliary diagnostic techniques in the investigation of articular and periarticular pathologies is stressed. Furthermore, an overview of several clinical aspects of the canine haemangiosarcoma is discussed.

RNP, Sm and SS-B nuclear antigens from calf thymus were studied with respect to the size distribution on sucrose gradients as well as to the molecular integrity and related structural changes when they were subjected to enzymatic digestions under different conditions. Making a difference with RNP particles, the Sm size distribution is concentration dependent, a property in accordance with the complexity of the Sm particles in comparison with the RNPs. The use of combined effects of temperature, endogenous proteases and RNase A, allowed us to gain insight into the limits of stability of the three antigenic particles. Following treatments in the absence of RNAse A, the degradation products (32-38 Kd molecular weight) of the 70 Kd RNP polypeptide remain stable and associated with other molecules within the RNP particle. It was also found that the phosphate groups of the SS-B protein moiety are only accessible to alkaline phosphatase if the RNA of the SS-B particle is degraded by the action of RNAse A.
