Using a unique large-scale clickstream data set from a mobile commerce retailer, we examine the effect of the mobile shopping app and mobile operating system versions on consumer search and purchase behaviors in mobile commerce. We find that the consumers with an up-to-date shopping app or mobile operating system (but not both) compared to previous versions conduct more searches in terms of increased product page views and time spent on product pages, which in turn results in higher consumer purchase probability. Surprisingly, the consumers with both an up-to-date shopping app and mobile operating system have reduced search activities and lower purchase probabilities. Our results show that the mobile commerce environment affects the consumer shopping process in a non-linear fashion and indicate that there exists a "sweet spot" with the right level of smoothness in the mobile shopping environment. Our computations show that when compared to the baseline of using previous versions of both, using an up-to-date mobile shopping app alone increases consumer search activities by 336 more product pages or 1,975 more seconds spent, and using an up-to-date mobile operating system alone increases consumer search activities by 976 more product pages or 7,258 more seconds spent. However, using both an up-to-date mobile shopping app and mobile operating system only increases consumer search activities by 270 more product pages or 1,569 more seconds, compared to the baseline. One more product page viewed or one more second spent increases the average consumer purchase probability by 4.38% or 1.35%, respectively.

Using proprietary data from a major fund data provider, we analyze the screening activity of investment consultants (ICs). We find that ICs frequently shortlist funds using threshold screens clustered at $500MM for AUM, 0% for benchmark-adjusted return, and quartiles for return percentile rank screens. Funds just above the $500MM AUM threshold get 14%–18% more page views and 5–9 pp greater flows over the next year compared to similar funds just below the threshold. Our results are consistent with ICs using a two-stage consider-then-choose decision-making process and cognitive reference numbers in selecting screening thresholds. Objective. To evaluate the results of the information and communication campaign to promote a healthy lifestyle through a comparative analysis of the use of the takzdorovo.ru Internet portal in 2018–2019.Methods. Comparative analysis of the use of the Internet portal takzdorovo.ru in 2018–2019. was carried out by analyzing the data of the Yandex.Metrica web analytics system. As a source of information on the prevalence of risk factors from 2018 to 2019 we used data from a sample observation of behavioral factors affecting the health status of the population and the compilation “Healthcare in Russia – 2019” by Rosstat, as well as data from surveys of VTsIOM and the Public Opinion Foundation.Results. The total number of visits to the Internet portal takzdorovo.ru after the information and communication campaign increased by 6,4 times. In 2018, the number of unique visitors to the Internet portal reached 449,302 people, in 2019 – 1,82 million people, an increase of 4 times. The number of page views on the site during the reporting period increased by 8,6 times. Also, a number of behavioral characteristics of users of the takzdorovo.ru Internet portal have improved, for example, attendance by time of day, from various types of devices, page viewing depth, number of failures and duration of the visit on the takzdorovo.ru Internet portal.Conclusion. Conducting a communication campaign within the framework of the federal project “Strengthening Public Health” of the national project “Demography” made it possible to attract citizens to use a reliable Internet resource about healthy lifestyles, which is filled by leading experts in the field of health protection.The conducted communication campaign has demonstrated the effectiveness of attracting the target audience to information materials on the preservation and promotion of health, and indicates the need to support and replicate this experience in order to attract and further motivate the population to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Protected areas (PAs) are often seen as opportunity costs and are therefore vulnerable to political decisions that open them up to public or private development initiatives. We reasoned that, ceteris paribus, PAs with high levels of public support should be more resilient to such decisions because; i) politicians in democratic societies are reluctant to make unpopular/controversial decisions that go against public opinion, and; ii) the proposed development of popular PAs is more likely to be met by vigorous resistance (‘push-back’) from NGOs and other societal actors. Nevertheless, public interest and, by extension, support for protected areas has rarely been considered in PA risk assessments. Here, we propose an innovative approach to assessing the political vulnerability of PAs that combines indices of developmental pressures (from the DOPA database) with an innovative culturomic-derived metric of public interest based on Wikipedia page views. Using automated methods, we quantify the political vulnerability status of 523 Brazilian PAs. Our analysis reveals a large number of PAs that may be politically vulnerable, being characterized by a combination of high developmental pressure and low/very low levels of public interest. For such PAs, we recommend managers take measures to increase public interest to ensure a healthy base of public support in the future. We conclude that digital metrics of public interest are simply and inexpensively generated, and could be easily incorporated into the existing assessment systems for protected areas.

Rapid advancements in digital technology have had a significant influence on businesses' websites. Organizations with well-designed websites have the potential of attracting customers, generating revenues, and increasing market share. Nevertheless, many organizations that are investing billions of US dollars on websites and page development are not attracting customers or generating revenues, incomes, and profits as expected. The study focuses on bounce rate as a key performance measure of website effectiveness. The research focus is on the factors that influence bounce rate to provide insights to advertisers and websites' designers to predict the effectiveness and quality of online advertisements before these ads are shown to both web users and online visitors. The authors investigated the influence of page view, unique page view, average time on page, entrances, and percent exit on bounce rate. The study shows that unique pageviews, average time on page, entrance, and percent exit have a positive and significant effect on bounce rate and have practical and research implications.

In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the University of Kansas Center for Telemedicine & Telehealth (KUCTT) adopted a multipronged, digital strategy to address COVID-induced, high-volume telehealth inquiries in Kansas and sought to quickly disseminate rapidly evolving federal policy updates and foundational telehealth implementation guidance. Retrospectively, KUCTT examined participant engagement in three educational approaches (e.g., telehealth webinars, Project ECHO, brief instructional/informational videos) that were developed and delivered in real time to meet the specific and unique needs of healthcare administrators and providers due to the COVID-19-forced surge in telehealth utilization. KUCTT observed significant increases in telehealth educational engagement and website access in response to the COVID-19 telehealth surge and the multi-pronged digital educational strategy. From January to September of 2020, average attendance at non-COVID-19 ECHOs was 56.1 attendees while the average attendance for two COVID-19 ECHOs that occurred in March of 2020 was 225 attendees, a 300% increase in attendance. The University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) Telehealth website received triple the amount of page views in March and April of 2020 (n=1,559) compared to January and February of 2020 (n=526). Healthcare providers used and engaged with the educational programs in this fast-tracked, digital approach at greater rates when compared to pre-pandemic program and web data. This interest mirrors the COVID-19 telehealth surge and suggests that a multipronged approach was effective in disseminating rapidly evolving telehealth policy and defining essential elements of telehealth implementation.

Online transaction has recently benefited from coronavirus; however, the sales of e-commerce in some areas are substantially on the decline. The current study proposes a theoretically constructed and empirically viable way for predicting the relevant factors that may detract or foster e-commerce success. We apply web analytics (one of the big data techniques) to simultaneously, generalizably, and objectively measure the influential factors of e-commerce success. The findings indicate that (1) pageviews is an important key for consumers to make transactions. (2) Bounce rate of the website should not be a member factor of e-commerce success. (3) Adhesion strategy and repeatability strategy can be used to induce consumer online transaction. Several theoretical contributions and practical implications are also provided.

BACKGROUND We developed the Tobacco Prevention Toolkit (Toolkit) to enhance the impact of school-based tobacco education. This study describes the process of developing the Toolkit, its contents, and reach. METHODS Qualitative community-based participatory research (CBPR), including focus group discussions (N = 152) and working groups with parents, educators, researchers, and youth (N = 87) were used to develop the Toolkit and design its implementation. Toolkit reach was assessed through number of trained educators using the Toolkit, estimated number of youth recipients of the Toolkit resources, and using Google Analytics for online engagement. RESULTS The Toolkit is a free, online resource aimed at preventing tobacco use by middle and high school students. Toolkit content addresses varied forms of tobacco including electronic cigarettes, hookah, smokeless tobacco, and cigarettes; addiction; and positive youth development; and is available in multiple interactive formats such as real-time quizzes, factsheets, activities, and presentations. The Toolkit is mainly delivered by trained educators, who adapt its content and duration to tailor their drug prevention teaching to student needs. As of April 2020, when data for this paper were collected, 4,750 educators have reached an estimated 1.3 million youth. The Toolkit website has 186,116 users and 802,602 page views, growing steadily since 2016. As of August 2021, additional students have been reached, for now a total of 1.85 million students reached. CONCLUSION The Toolkit resources are evidence-based, comprehensive, responsive, interactive, easily accessible, and flexible. Applying CBPR was instrumental in developing the Toolkit and expanding its reach.
