Today, factors such as rapid and unplanned urbanization and high living costs shape the concept of housing. The concepts of co-housing and co-living emerged with the desire to reduce the living costs of individuals in the city and to have a social life by becoming a part of a small community, which are offered as potential solutions to high living costs in densely populated areas. The co-housing model aims to provide a minimum standard of living for singles, students or professionals. In this study, adequacy analyzes were carried out in terms of the user requirements of a residential flat in the city of Padova, Italy, where 6 individuals aged between 20-25 years lived between 2021-2022. The study is aimed to identify the deficient aspects of housing in terms of user needs and to guide the professionals who will design this type of housing in the future. As a result of the study, it was determined that co-living is ideal for young singles in terms of their user requirements, especially for short-term accommodation in their abroad experience.

This paper examines eight marble samples from the architectural elements and liturgical furniture of the ecclesiastical complex of Santa Giustina in Padova (Italy), founded by the Rufus Venantius Opilio before AD 524. The provenance determination of the marbles was carried out by means of a multi-analytical approach combining mineralogical–petrographic investigations, performed by microscopic observations of thin sections, and the measurement of the ratios of stable carbon and oxygen isotopes. The results obtained were compared with up-to-date petrographic and isotopic databases (Antonelli and Lazzarini 2015), and they showed that the analyzed marbles come from the quarries of the island of Proconnesus in Asia Minor, modern Marmara Adası (Turkey). Archaeometric evidence, together with the stylistic and functional analysis of the pieces, suggests the direct importation of a complete set of sculptures, shipped at different stages of workmanship from the workshops of Constantinople and expressly ordered by a single patron, who can be identified as Opilio, founder of the basilica of Santa Giustina and praetorian prefect at the court of King Theodoric.

L’articolo tratta di elegie ed epigrammi scelti composti da Klemens Janicki, i quali contengono descrizioni di Padova, dell’Italia e di persone legate alla città di Antenore e a Venezia: Lazzaro Bonamico, Giovanni Battista Da Monte, Francesco Cassano, Pietro Bembo, Ludovico Dolce, Daniele Barbaro. L’Autrice sostiene che Janicki sia riuscito a creare un’immagine dell’Italia ed in particolare di Padova, una seconda patria, dove il poeta potè svilupparsi, studiare ed essere curato. Le poesie legate all’Italia e Padova contribuiscono inoltre ad arricchire la biografia letteraria di Janicki, un cittadino del mondo, un poeta laurato, uno studente allegro, un paziente felice, un amico e un collega delle persone legate alla Repubblica di Venezia nella prima metà del XVI secolo.

Nel 1803–1804 Waleria Tarnowska, nata Stroynowska, e suo marito Jan Feliks Tarnowski, viaggiarono attraverso l’Italia. Lo scopo del viaggio era quello di acquistare opere d’arte, che sarebbero dovute diventare la base per la creazione di una collezione nella loro dimora familiare di Dzików. Durante il viaggio, la coppia visitò le più importanti città, incontrando gli scienziati più in vista e artisti. Visitarono inoltre due volte Padova, con i suoi importanti monumenti. Tuttavia, fu la famosa università a impressionarli maggiormente. Parlarono con i professori del tempo e visitarono l’orto botanico dell’università. Durante il soggiorno, durante il quale acquistarono numerosi dipinti e sculture, Waleria Tarnowska tenne un giornale, conservato sino ad oggi, il quale testimonia delle sue impressioni ed emozioni.

Il saggio analizza la presenza delle sepolture femminili nella basilica di Sant’Antonio a Padova, nel corso del XIV secolo, in parte pervenute e in parte documentate nelle fonti. Durante il Trecento infatti, le tombe femminili sono in numero nettamente superiore, circa venti, rispetto a quelle dei secoli successivi e appartengono a famiglie di rango elevato. La numerosità di tali sepolture è da mettere in relazione alla signoria dei Carraresi, che resero la città, nel Trecento, un centro, nell’ambito dell’Italia padana, di importanza politica e altissimo profilo culturale.

Nel corso dei secoli medievali le autorità padovane hanno attuato un’ambiziosa politica di controllo e sfruttamento delle risorse idriche della città e del territorio che è valsa loro il plauso di Dante e di numerosi eruditi e storici. Un’analisi delle fonti edite e inedite permette peraltro di cogliere anche il rovescio della medaglia, ossia una situazione di instabilità idrogeologica di vari settori del contado padovano. Instabilità congenita, in alcuni casi, ma in numerosi altri casi indotta o comunque aggravata proprio da quella politica di gestione a fini utilitaristici delle risorse idriche che ha portato a importanti interventi sui fiumi Brenta e Bacchiglione, all’apertura di nuove vie d’acqua come il canale di Battaglia, alla realizzazione di arginature, bonifiche ecc. La mancanza di un quadro d’insieme, le limitate conoscenze scientifiche, le scarse risorse economiche disponibili hanno portato ad un quadro di dissesto idrogeologico che, per alcune aree, persiste fino al presente.

Avvalendoci di una fonte seriale conosciuta, ma non sufficientemente esplorata, come i dispacci dei rettori veneti di Padova per gli anni 1602-1630, il periodo di importanti rotture degli argini e dell’esondazione dei fiumi, intendiamo proporre l’esame di questo caso studio per trasportare il disastro naturale nel campo della storia sociale ed economica. Il rapido confronto con la documentazione di altre podesterie (Verona, Vicenza e Chioggia) per l’anno funesto del 1608 consente di coglierne la rappresentatività del periodo storico. In quell’anno a Padova la crisi nell’approvvigionamento emerge nelle contraddizioni nei rapporti città e campagne e nel riproporsi delle tensioni sociali. Il quadro è desolante: una principale via di comunicazione come la strada mestrina è trasformata in colabrodo dalle acque, si accumulano ‘diluvi’ di neve in città che diventano ingombranti flagelli per i rappresentanti veneziani e la popolazione del territorio. Nel 1612 le piogge non sono riconducibili alla categoria di maltempo ma, per la fragilità della rete idrografica padovana, contribuiscono nuovamente alle rotture degli argini. Nel 1627 a Este, nella bassa padovana, la gravità della situazione spinge a livello locale a cercare di comprendere le connessioni geografiche di questo ‘mondo liquido’ perché le acque dell’alto vicentino influenzano quelle della bassa padovana.
