The study highlights the changes occurred in several stands of Hyperico richeri-Vaccinietum communities of the high Emilian Apennines after 30 years after the first phytosociological and phenological surveys. In 2012 the same types of surveys were repeated in the original stands, with the aim to detect any change in vegetation structure as well as in species composition and behaviour. The study has pointed out significant changes in all the vegetation stands over the last 30 years. The following trends are displayed in the stands analysed: A) a general decrease of species richness per stand; B) a slight increase of the shrubs/herbs cover ratio, with a significant spreading of Juniperus communis and of Vaccinium uliginosum, sometimes coupled with a reduction of V. myrtillus cover; C) a reduction of Orophytes and of many species belonging to the classes Caricetea curvulae and Nardo Callunetea; D) a xero-thermic trend of plant communities composition (index species analysis). It is noteworthy that many of the declining species flower in the dryest and hottest period of the year (July-August). The results seems to indicate that the changes in vegetation features are due only partly to human causes (lighter grazing) and more widely to climatic stress.

Goniolimon italicum is an endemic species to central Apennines (Italy). Here we provide the first report of heterostyly in this species. Two morphological types were identified: an S-morph with stamen filaments longer than gynoecia, stigmas with a papillate surface and finely reticulated pollen grains with very small spinules (Type B); and an L-morph with stamen filaments shorter than gynoecia, stigmas with a cob pattern and coarsely reticulated pollen grains with small spinules (Type A). Two new locations of G. italicum were found and are here reported.Goniolimon italicum es una especie endémica del centro de los Apeninos (Italia) de la cual se da a conocer por primera vez la existencia de heterostilia. Se reconocen dos tipos mofológicos: el morfo S, con filamentos estaminales más largos que el gineceo, estigmas papilosos y granos de polen finamente reticulados con espínulas muy pequeñas (Type B); y el morfo L con filamentos estaminales más cortos que elgineceo, estigmas tipo mazorca (“cob”) y granos de polen provistos de retículos laxos con espínulas pequeñas (Type A). Se aporta, además, el hallazgo de G. italicum en dos nuevas localidades.

A phenological survey on Vaccinium heaths was repeated thirty years after the first observations, in the Northern Apennines (Italy). In line with the sampling method adopted in the earliest phases of the study, the phenological monitoring was undertaken in the same sites, located above the tree line between 1600 and 1800 m asl. The phenology of each plant species was recorded in order to single out the flowering patterns of the plant communities and their variations. In the years with average weather conditions, flowerings begin at the end of May, after the melting of the last spring snow, and finish in September, showing a bimodal pattern. The first blooming peak occurs in mid June and the second in mid July, in coincidence with the annual maximum temperatures. The first peak is due to the dwarf shrubs and to other species typical of the Vaccinium heaths, while the second is due to herbs with a wider ecology. Among the years on study, we found that 1984 and 2012 diverged from the aforementioned pattern, in that flowerings showed strong pheno-anomalies and a lower phenological diversity. In 1984, a marked delay of the blooming start (1 month) and of the first peak (3 weeks) were observed, while the second peak and the flowering end were normal: the delay was due to a very cold and snowy spring in 1984. On the contrary, 2012 was characterized by the disappearance of the second flowering peak and by a dramatic advance of the blooming end: it is worth mentioning that summer 2012 was exceptionally dry, with temperatures above the average. In summary, while the very cold spring 1984 led simply to an initial shift and then to a compaction of the blooming rhythms, the xero-thermal stress of the summer 2012 caused a deep variation of the symphenological pattern and a fail of sexual reproduction in several late flowering species. Given that xero-thermal stress occurred often in the last decades, some sensible species, flowering in mid summer, could have undergone a reduction in seed production and could have therefore be disadvantaged in turn-over. This hypothesis is consistent with the results on vegetation changes: in fact, the comparison of the actual vegetation with the historical observations in the same sites, shows a reduction of herb (Hemicryptophytes) diversity and cover in time. It is noteworthy that many of the declining species flower in the driest and hottest weeks of the year. In a climate-warming scenario, the low extension of these sub-alpine islands of the Apennines leads to a high extinction risk of the most sensible species. So, the monitoring of this vulnerable vegetation type seems necessary in order to detect the current trends and should be continued in the future.

The study highlights the changes occurred in 10 homogeneous stands both of Vaccinium and Nardus communities of the Emilian Apennines after 30 years from the first surveys. The stands were sampled by phytosociological and phenological methods in the years 1981-1984 (Puppi, Zanotti & Speranza, 1994 - Phenological studies on Vaccinium and Nardus communities. Fitosociologia) near the mount “Corno alle Scale” (BO). In that time, the locations of the stands were exactly recorded (CRT map 1:10000) and documented by series of photos. In 2011 and 2012 the original sites were found again and the same types of surveys were repeated, with the aim to detect any change and to investigate its possible causes. Main results are here summarized. Community’s structure has become more complex: in particular, Juniperus nana cover is significantly increased; moreover, among Vaccinium species, V.gaultheriodes is going to prevail on V. myrtillus, probably damaged by the shortening of the snow cover duration. In general, species richness is lower than 30 years ago. Many herbaceous species are rarefied or disappeared: in particular Caricetea curvulae and Nardo Callunetea species become reduced in abundance and number. On the other side, only few new species appeared ( e.g. Veratrum album, Maianthemum bifolium, etc.). Changes in vegetation features seem to be due in part to natural dynamics (lighter grazing) and in part to climatic stress. In fact, the climate of the area has become warmer and drier (less snow and less rainfalls in winter, spring and summer) over the last 2 decades, as deduced from data of Marletto et al., 2010 (Atlante idroclimatico dell’Emilia-Romagna 1961-2008. Nel presente lavoro, attraverso l’impiego di photoplot e delle analisi basate sui Sistemi Informativi Geografici, si propone un metodo per implementare la qualità e la quantità dei dati utilizzabili per le analisi di tipo ecologico per la produzione di modelli sintetici che comprendano il maggior numero di parametri possibili: biologici, pedologici, idrologici e geomorfologici considerati nello spazio e nel tempo. Un macroplot di 1,5x1,5 m è stato collocato in un Sito di Importanza Comunitaria caratterizzato dalla presenza dell’habitat prioritario 6110* - Formazioni erbose rupicole calcicole o basofile dell'Alysso-Sedion albi. Ogni quadrato è diviso in nove plot 50x50cm suddivisi ancora in 100 subplot 5x5cm. Di ogni plot è stata effettuata una fotografia digitale in posizione pseudozenitale (photoplot) ogni 20 giorni nella medesima posizione per un anno. In campo sono stati registrati la posizione delle singole specie vegetale in ogni subplot e una misura delle microquote del substrato. In ambiente GIS è stato generato il DEM di ogni plot derivando da esso tutti i parametri topografici utili. Sempre in ambiente GIS sono state digitalizzate le coperture di tutte le specie presenti e calcolati diversi indici spaziali. Attraverso il confronto dei photoplot nell’arco dell’anno sono stati ricavati dati sullo sviluppo temporale delle specie e il loro turnover.

Gli effetti delle variazioni climatiche sulle specie vegetali possono essere registrati attraverso il monitoraggio delle fasi fenologiche. Queste osservazioni aumentano di significatività se protratte nel tempo e confrontate sul territorio. In Italia 11 Giardini e Stazioni di rilevamento fenologico, con cadenza settimanale, rilevano le varie fasi e le mettono in relazione ai fattori climatici. Il loro coinvolgimento all’interno di una Rete, nel rispetto dell’autonomia di ogni giardino, ha come scopo valorizzarne il ruolo, aumentando la visibilità e formando una massa critica in grado di interfacciarsi con altre reti internazionali. Ogni Giardino o Stazione, presenta una storia e caratteristiche ambientali proprie; tuttavia, essi hanno in comune alcune specie vegetali. In molti casi, le piante di queste specie sono cloni e questo costituisce un valore aggiunto per la comprensione degli effetti dei fattori ambientali sulla fenologia. In questo contributo si confrontano le caratteristiche delle unità della Rete GFI e si presentano i risultati delle prime elaborazioni comuni.

Phenological scales used in the past were not standardized: in different countries different methods were followed and these are often still in use today: for example Italian Botanists usually make the phenological observations by means of the GFI key, adopted in 1993 by the Italian Phenological Gardens, or by Marcello’s Key. The comparability of data collected with different methods is a serious problem, so, in the last 20 years the scientific community has directed significant efforts toward the standardization of sampling methods and phenological scales: in Europe, the BBCH scale (Meier, 1997) has been generally adopted. Although the BBCH and GFI scales have different structures, several stages are corresponding. We present a method for the conversion between BBCH and GFI scales, based on the numerical relationship between the codes of the respective stages: in the reproductive cycle the relation is well approximated by a sigmoid function, while in the leaf development, by a linear function. The presented method also allows the fractional values of the stages to be converted (e.g. the average value of a population). The rhythms of growth, flowering and fruiting of plant communities (symphenological patterns) are conditioned by synchronizing and asynchronizing factors. Phenological behaviours of species can be categorized into types and their synchrony or asynchrony (diversity) can be evaluated by numerical methods. Moreover, the phenological traits of a phytocoenosis can be compared and related with other features and criteria of classification. Each phytocoenosis has a typical symphenological pattern that is subject to variations (anomalies) depending on the weather and also on the stress and disturbance level: pheno-anomalies can lead to variations in the fitness of some species and possibly to the loss of biodiversity. In fact, the phenological traits enrich the bio-indication value of plants and should always be considered when attaining a global view of plant communities.

Il volume contiene una sintesi delle serie di vegetazione d'Italia, analizzate in relazione ai fattori climatici e litomorfologici.

In Europe, in the last thirty years, the onset of spring has advanced (Estrella et al. 2009 Clim Res. 39). However the phenological shifts vary from one country to another and long time series are scanty in Southern Europe (Peňuelas et. al. 2002, Glob. Change Biol.; Črepinšek et Kajfež 2003, Ann.Ser.Hist.Nat.13): for this reason we analyzed the data on leafing of some woody species recorded during the last 3 decades (1977-2009) in the city of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy) and in several hillside stations in the neighbourhood of the town. As BGS index, the average day of “first leaf unfolding” (GFI=V4, BBCH=11) of a group of common woody species was chosen: the BGS days were analysed in relation with time and temperature changes. The BGS happens on average at the end of March. The species observed display a negative trend along the period (about 2 days of advance per decade) and the BGS days show a significant correlation with the mean temperature of the period January-March (about 3 and a half days of earlier start per degree of increasing temperature). Since an increase in winter temperatures has been predicted in the Emilia-Romagna region in the next decades (Tomozeiu et al. 2007, Theor. Appl. Climatol. 90), the growing season in our region is probably going to extend. Phenological spatial patterns of the neighbourhood of the city are also analysed: greening generally starts on southfacing hills between 100 and 300 m asl.

Castanea sativa woods are one of the most widespread and typical habitats of the southern European mountain landscape and have both historical and agro-ecological value. Furthermore are considered an important habitat for biodiversity conservation point of view and are included in the European Community Natura 2000 network as the habitat “Castanea sativa-dominated forests and long-established plantations with semi-natural undergrowth” . In the Bologna Province, chestnut woods are mainly coppices derived from old chestnut orchards. The biodiversity of chestnut coppices was examined by 200 phytosociological releves and gradient of biodiversity was analyzed by multivariate analysis (clustering and ordination). Releves were also compared with those of mixed oak woods to evaluate transitions of chestnut woods into mixed oak woods.

The symphenological analysis of phytocoenoses allows us to assess the individual and collective rhythms of the growth, flowering and fruiting of plant communities. In the temperate zone, it can be assumed that the phenological timing is optimally adapted to the seasonal period favourable for growth and reproduction and that the natural selection acts by means of synchronising (temperature, rain, frost and drought risks) and asynchronizing factors (competition for resources, pollinators and seed dispersal). Species can be categorized into phenological types selected a priori or by agglomerative methods (clustering) (Puppi et al.1994, Fitosociologia 26). The symphenological pattern of a plant community is usually represented graphically by symphenograms, while the synchrony or the asynchrony (diversity) can be evaluated by numerical methods. Moreover, the analysis of phenological traits of a phytocoenosis can be compared and related with other features and criteria of classification (Taxonomy, Syntaxonomy, Chorology, pollination types, ecological and morpho-physiological traits ) in order to assess the relationship between seasonal timing and the other attributes of plants. Each phytocoenosis has a typical symphenological pattern, that is subject to variations (anomalies) depending on the weather and also on the stress and disturbance level. In Europe, climatic change has already caused a significant shift in phenophases timing: an advance of spring phases and an extension of the growing season. Moreover, species have been found to respond differently to climate change (Menzel et al. 2006, Global Change Biol. 12): pheno-anomalies can lead to variations in the fitness of some species and consequently the competitive relationships within a plant community will alter, possibly until the loss of biodiversity. In order to predict the consequences of climatic impact on plants it is important to assess the phenological fingerprints (Root et al. 2003, Nature 421) of the most sensitive phytocoenoses (an example on summit vegetation is given) and to construct pheno-climatic models suitable for forecasting future scenarios. Besides the climate, the disturbance too can produce “pheno-anomalies” (examples: the effect of mowing a grassland and of defoliation by grubs in a wood). Thus, the analysis of phenological traits of vegetation is a useful tool in characterizing ecological features of phytocoenoses and in predicting the plant responses to the natural and anthropic impact. In fact, a global view of plant communities both in descriptive and functional terms, increases their bio-indication value and their benefit in the applications for the sustainable management of ecosystems.

Phenological behaviour of some common woody species have been recorded during about 3 decades (1975-2008) in the city centre of Bologna (Emilia-Romagna, Northern Italy) and in several hillside stations in the neighbourhood of the town. The dates of start and full flowering have been analysed in relation with time and temperature changes. Both winter (hazel) and spring flowerings (ash tree and chestnut tree) show slight negative trends (an advance of 2-4 days per decade) along the period. In the last 40 years of the 20th century, in Emilia-Romagna region, the winter and spring temperatures have shown an increase of 0,2- 0,4°C per decade (Tomozeiu et al. 2006, Clim. Res. 31) and a further increase of about 0,2- 0,3°C per decade has been predicted, by means of a downscaling technique, in the 21th century (Tomozeiu el al. 2007, Theor. Appl. Climatol. 90). Since the flowering days of the observed species show significant correlations with the mean temperature of the preceding months (3-5 days of earlier start per degree of increasing temperature), in the future earlier flowerings can be expected to occur.

I ritmi stagionali delle piante (emissione, sviluppo e caduta delle foglie, fioritura, fruttificazione), sono l’oggetto della scienza chiamata fitofenologia. Come è noto, le fasi di sviluppo (fenofasi) del ciclo vegetativo e riproduttivo, sono influenzate fortemente dalla temperatura ambientale: questo permette da un lato di effettuare previsioni fenologiche in base all’andamento meteo-climatico e dall’altro di usare le fenofasi delle specie più sensibili come sensori termici. Tra i fattori climatici, anche le precipitazioni (specialmente quelle nevose per la vegetazione di alta quota) possono influire sulle date di manifestazione delle fenofasi. Le variazioni dei ritmi stagionali delle piante in risposta al riscaldamento del clima (IPCC, 2007) sono ormai documentate da numerosi studi: una recente analisi (Menzel et al. 2006, Global Change Biology 12) basata su dati raccolti nell’ultimo trentennio del secolo scorso in 21 paesi d’Europa (per lo più dell’Europa centro-settentrionale) relativi a 542 specie di piante, ha dimostrato un significativo anticipo delle fenofasi primaverili (in media 2,5 giorni di anticipo per decennio) ed un generale allungamento della stagione vegetativa: inoltre sono state evidenziate correlazioni significative tra le date di comparsa delle fenofasi primaverili e le temperature medie dei mesi precedenti (da 1 a 4,5 giorni di anticipo per °C a seconda della specie, della fase e della regione). La meta-analisi sopra citata lascia però molte incertezze per quanto riguarda la situazione dell’Europa meridionale ed in particolare dell’Italia, che purtroppo non era stata inclusa nella ricerca, in quanto carente di serie continue di dati fenologici relativi al trentennio considerato. Tuttavia, in provincia di Bologna, alcune serie fenologiche da noi raccolte dalla fine degli anni ’70 ad oggi (Zanotti e Puppi 2003, Challenging times, Wageningen) possono costituire una buona base per esaminare il comportamento fenologico della vegetazione locale nel tempo. Si notano innanzitutto forti variazioni interannuali nelle date di comparsa delle fioriture, particolarmente accentuate in quelle invernali (oltre 1 mese); inoltre, nonostante l’elevata variabilità fenologica, anche nel territorio Bolognese è possibile evidenziare una tendenza all’anticipo (di entità paragonabile ai dati europei) delle fenofasi invernali e primaverili durante gli ultimi decenni. Le date di fioritura di varie specie mostrano significative correlazioni con la temperatura media dei mesi precedenti (da 5 a 3 giorni di anticipo per grado di temperatura) e risultati simili si osservano anche per la emissione delle foglie. Questi risultati possono già permettere di effettuare previsioni di massima in relazione ai possibili scenari di aumenti delle temperature anche nella nostra regione (Tomozeiu et al. 2007, Theor. Appl. Climatol. 90), tuttavia, per predire in dettaglio la risposta degli ecosistemi ai cambiamenti climatici, è necessario lo sviluppo di reti di monitoraggio e di modelli fenologici accurati, che tengano conto dei meccanismi fisiologici di risposta delle diverse specie ai fattori ambientali.

An overview of the oldest phenological data collected in Italy, for scientific purposes, with scientific criteria and methods, is presented. Following the example of Linnaeus, in the 19th century various Italian botanists such as Ottaviano Targioni, Teodoro Caruel, Alessandro Serpieri and Giuseppe Bertoloni, went on to create phenological calendars, with notes on the local climate and agricultural work. Besides, the earliest phenological network on both cultivated and wild plants was organized by Almerico Da Schio and Domenico Lampertico at the end of XIX century (1876-1884) in 16 localities of the Veneto and Emilia regions. The European Phenological Network founded by Hoffman and Ihne (1882) was joined by botanists working in the Italian Alps, like Wilhelm Pfaff, who was responsible for a very long series (1886-1933) of phenological records at Bolzano.

The aim of this study was to investigate the plant biodiversity of semi- and sub-natural vegetation in the intensively cropped plain area of the Emilia-Romagna region. These coenoses (hedgerows between crops, herb margins and strips, ditch banks), where the soil is not exploited, represent valuable reservoirs of biodiversity which are under continuous threat. With the aim of evaluating the contribution of these communities to the biodiversity of agrecosystems, phytosociological and symphenological surveys were conducted in three sites: A) in the lowlands of Emilia (Modena-Reggio Emilia), B) in the area at the foot of the hills between Emilia and Romagna (Bologna), and C) in the Romagna coastal area (Ravenna). Vegetation analyses show both qualitative and quantitative differences among the three areas: the greatest variety in vegetation types and habitats is observed in areas A and B (6-7 different vegetation types), while area C appears to be more monotonous (with a mere 3 types). The results of floristic analyses suggest that the abundance of species (based on the number of species observed in 30 phytosociological relevés for each area), depends to a greater extent on micro-environmental factors and site management than on the territorial context: areas A and B, characterised by a fair variety of habitats, display a wider floristic diversity (approx. 180 species from over 50 families) than area C (approx. 120 species from 32 families). The flora is composed mainly of synanthropic species, with high percentages of annual plants (between 30% and 45%) and sub cosmopolitan plants; however, it is also worth noting the presence of several nemoral and hydrophilic species, hidden away in hedges and along ditches, as well as rare plants (about 10% of the total). Phenological patterns show relationships with the life forms and the synecological features of the plants. The analyses of symphenograms show generally bimodal trends of blooming intensity (varying with coenosis, site and year): the first peak corresponds mostly to the onset of anthesis in woody species and annual grasses, while the second one, taking place between late spring and summer, is due to the perennial grasses. The relationships between plants and animals were also investigated, in collaboration with several experts. Significant correlations were observed between certain parameters of Lepidoptera (number of species and abundance) and the plant diversity, as well as the abundance of the grass layer (Puppi et al. 2008). Summing up, in order to preserve and increase biodiversity in the agricultural ecosystems, we have to maintain a network of sub-natural and semi-natural structures. Moreover, these should have a high variety of structural as well as ecological features.

We report the results of the processing of a long-term series of phenological data regarding the anthesic phenophases of Corylus avellana (Hazel): the data were recorded in the city centre (University Botanical Garden) of Bologna (Italy) over a period of approximately 3 decades (from 1981 to 2008)

Viene presentato un excursus storico delle conoscenze fenologiche dall'antichità ad oggi.

E' presentata una ricerca sulla vegetazione di una azienda agricola condotta con metodi di lotta integrata. E' stata valutata la diversità floristica, vegetazionale e la ricchezza in specie rare. E' stato anche studiato il ritmo sinfenologico delle fioriture e delle fruttificazioni di alcune comunità vegetali e valutato l'effetto dello sfalcio sul ritmo riproduttivo delle specie prative. Sono state inoltre esaminate le relazioni tra flora spontanea e insetti utili.

vengono presentati i risultati di una ricerca pluriennale svolta in agroecosistemi della pianura emiliana e romagnola. I risultati evidenziano strette relazioni tra diversità micro-ambientale, floristica e fenologica.

Viene presentato lo stato dell'arte sulla problematica relativa agli effetti dal clima sulle manifestazioni fenologiche delle piante; sono evidenziate in particolare le tendenze (anticipi delle fasi primaverili e allungamento del periodo vegetativo) in relazione al recente riscaldamento climatico.

E' tracciato il percorso storico della fenologia come scienza, dalle origini fino all'epoca attuale.

Per valutare l’importanza degli spazi subnaturali, in un tratto della pianura emiliana tra Novi (MO) e Rolo (RE), sono state studiate banchine erbose, argini di canali, siepi arbustive e arboree in 9 siti (diversi tra loro per vegetazione), ubicati in tre aree (diversa tra loro per complessità ecologica). I rilievi sulla vegetazione sono stati eseguiti con il metodo fitosociologico; inoltre sono stati rilevati i seguenti parametri: complessità della rete di corridoi ecologici dell’area circostante il sito di rilievo (CA); complessità ecologico-vegetazionale del sito (CS); diversità floristica del sito (DS); complessità strutturale dei tipi di vegetazione (CV); diversità floristica dei tipi di vegetazione (DV).

Viene presentato uno studio sulla ricchezza floristica di diversi tipi di vegetazione forestale situati nella fascia collinare dell'Appennino Bolognese. Lo studio si basa sia su rilievi fitosociologici eseguiti ad hoc con l'intento di evidenziare le variazioni della biodiversità in rapporto al substrato, al microclima e all'azione antropica, sia su transetti effettuati dal bordo forestale verso l’interno del bosco, per evidenziare l’effetto di margine.

L’oggetto del presente contributo riguarda l’analisi del comportamento fenologico di alcune specie indicatrici erbacee e legnose, nell’inverno 2006/7, che ha avuto un andamento termo-pluviometrico anomalo con alte temperature e bassa piovosità. Sono state confrontate le date di comparsa della piena fioritura delle specie guida in due parchi di Bologna di cui erano disponibili lunghe serie di dati fenologici pregressi.

Il Fiume Panaro presenta notevoli criticità correlate allo sfruttamento antropico del territorio. Questo studio si pone di analizzare lo stato e la quantità dei mesohabitat a disposizione per le comunità fluviali utilizzando le ortofoto Quickbird 2003 ad alta risoluzione. Il processo di fotointerpretazione delle ortofoto, condotto alla scala di 1:3000, permette di caratterizzare differenti habitat. con il controllo di sopralluoghi mirati in campo. La successiva digitalizzazione degli habitat fornisce i dati per effettuare stime numeriche in modo speditivo, al fine di evidenziare le relazioni spaziali tra le artificializzazioni rilevate e la conseguente banalizzazione degli ambienti fluviali

Viene illustrato lo stato di attuazione di un progetto per la realizzazione di mappe fenologiche a scala nazionale, riguardanti la fenologia di alcune varietà di vite e di una specie spontanea (Sambucus nigra): sono descritti i metodi di rilevamento (BBCH) e di spazializzazione dei dati (mediante modelli feno-climatici) e viene presentato un esempio di carta fenologica tra quelle prodotte.

Nel territorio della provincia di Bologna il nostro gruppo di ricerca ha raccolto dati fenologici con una certa regolarità a partire dal 1977 fino ad oggi. Dagli anni ’80 in particolare, è stata svolta una intensa attività di rilevamento in campo su piante della flora spontanea, indirizzata soprattutto al monitoraggio fenologico territoriale, che ha portato alla produzione di mappe fenologiche e fenoclimatiche a varia scala. Recentemente la serie storica dei dati fenologici è stata inserita in una banca dati, che ha permesso di analizzare trends pluriennali in relazione alle variazioni climatiche in atto.

Analisi della biodiversità floristica dei principali tipi di bosco naturale o subnaturale presenti sulle colline a sud di Bologna, in relazione ai fattori ambientali ed antropici e con particolare riferimento all'effetto di margine.

Viene illustrato il comportamento fenantesico e la corologia (areale, fascia fitoclimatica, habitat) dei principali taxa di piante che producono polline allergogeno in Italia.

La ricerca riguarda la caratterizzazione bioclimatica di un territorio orograficamente complesso, realizzata in base al comportamento fenologico della flora spontanea. Viene presentato un esempio relativo al territorio bolognese, basato sul confronto tra mappe fenologiche realizzate mediante un modello feno-topografico e mappe climatiche costrite in base al modello delle sommatorie termiche.
