This research studies the impact of articles appearing in the top four journals for consumer research— JCR , JMR , JM , and JCP— by examining factors that influence scholarly, public, and practical impact. This conceptually distinguishes between "incongruent novelty" (novelty arising from incongruity between an article and other existing articles) and "recombinant novelty" (novelty based on drawing from more disparate references). Incongruent novelty is decomposed into two components: (1) topic incongruity—incongruity between an article's topic and other existing topics at the time and (2) article incongruity—incongruity between an article and other existing articles on the same primary topic. By integrating topic modeling and word embedding to measure these constructs, we demonstrate varying impacts of types of novelty on three types of impact. Overall, our findings illustrate that topic and article incongruity have effects above and beyond recombinant novelty. For both scholarly and public impact, our results suggest that moderately high topic incongruity has the largest influence, suggesting that researchers should address novel topics. Additionally, scholarly citations are positively affected by lower and higher (vs. moderate) levels of article incongruity, suggesting that researchers either engage in programmatic research or add a new approach to the existing research on a topic. Published articles within the Journal of Research on Technology in Education (JRTE) report on original research and include project descriptions, evaluations, literature syntheses, assessments, and theoretical or conceptual positions. These works inform the field of educational technology related to teaching and learning. As the flagship journal for International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), JRTE (previously JRCE) is a major research outlet for academic research centered around practical application of technology across educational contexts. Using the Scopus database, I retrieved 440 JRTE research articles from 2001 through 2020. In this article, bibliometric methods are used to explore trends in JRTE. This dataset summarizes the research on the impacts of Invasive Alien Species (IAS) documented in Brazil from 1981 to 2022 and was used to subsidize the Brazilian Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services. Impacts of non‐native plants and animals, but not microorganisms and fungi, on terrestrial and aquatic (freshwater and marine) environments were included in this review. Most of the literature reviewed consisted of published articles, plus a few book chapters, dissertations, theses, and reports. We found 1003 records of ecological and economic impacts (970 negative and 33 positive) caused by 239 different species, as well as effects on people's well‐being. Understanding and assessing all ecological interactions of IAS in nature, as well as evaluating their contributions to humans, can be a complex task. However, the current scientific evidence from Brazil suggests that negative impacts of IAS are far more common than positive impacts, highlighting the importance of avoiding novel introductions. From a conservationist perspective, the simple presence of IAS may cause the negative impact of changing the original structure and processes of nature. This is of special concern in megadiverse countries like Brazil, where interactions among species are multiple and complex. Therefore, we believe this extensive review is an important contribution to the national knowledge of IAS and the improvement of global databases, which must be periodically reviewed. Mitochondrial diseases (MDs) affect 4300 individuals, with different ages of presentation and manifestation in any organ. How defects in mitochondria can cause such a diverse range of human diseases remains poorly understood. In recent years, several published research articles regarding the metabolic and protein profiles of these neurogenetic disorders have helped shed light on the pathogenetic mechanisms. By investigating different pathways in MDs, often with the aim of identifying disease biomarkers, it is possible to identify molecular processes underlying the disease. In this perspective, omics technologies such as proteomics and metabolomics considered in this review, can support unresolved mitochondrial questions, helping to improve outcomes for patients. Recent years have witnessed a rapidly growing interest in CVJ bony abnormalities, and a qualitative and quantitative analysis of relevant literatures is necessary. This study aims to identify and summarize the published articles related to craniovertebral junction bony abnormalities, to analyze and visualize the current research trends and major contributors. We collected data from Web of Science, excluding certain article types. Two researchers screened articles for relevance. Data were organized with EndnoteX9, and analyzed using VOSviewer and CiteSpace for co-authorship, co-occurrence, keyword burst, and co-citation analyses to identify research trends and collaborations. A total of 2,776 articles were included, revealing an increasing trend in annual publications of CVJ bony abnormalities. The USA was the leading country. King Edward Memorial Hospital was the most prolific institution, and Seth GS Medical College had the most citations. The Spine is the most popular journal with the highest number of publications and citations. Professor Goel Atul from India emerged as the most influential pioneer in this field. Keyword analysis highlighted surgical techniques, diagnosis, and anatomy as the primary research hotspots and Fixation, Placement, and Basilar invagination gradually become the new research trend. However, there is a relative weakness in basic research and epidemiology. This study provides valuable insights into the current research trends and critical contributors in CVJ bony abnormalities, guiding evidence-based decisions and fostering international collaborations to advance knowledge in this field. This study examines several papers to study inventory models with back orders to provide a simpler solution procedure for EOQ/EPQ inventory models by using Arithmetic Geometric Mean inequality or Cauchy Bunyakovsky Schwarz inequality. We will point out that a paper implicitly adopted the fill rate from a published article without proper citation to convert two-variable minimum problems into one-variable problems. Hence, his simpler solution procedure is standing on the shoulder of a giant. Nitrogen losses of nitrous oxide (N2O) in grazed grassland are strongly driven by urine deposition by grazing ruminants. There is robust concern about applying nitrification inhibitor to mitigate nitrogen losses in global grasslands. However, the effect of dicyandiamide (DCD) on N2O emission rates and its driven factors remain unclear due to spatial heterogeneity. In the present study, we synthesized 133 group data from 69 published articles. It was indicated that effect size was -0.784±0.048 (P<0.0001) indicating a reduction of 54.34% in N2O emission rates. There was significant difference on effect size between different dose of nitrogen fertilization. Moderate dosage of DCD application was the best mitigation effect of 56.09%, which was significantly higher than light dosage of DCD application. Mixed effect model results revealed that precipitation, bulk density and air temperature could explain 16.93%, 12.31% and 3.02% variations in effect size. This study investigated the usage frequency of articles in the Zimbabwean English (ZE) corpus and the International corpus of English Great Britain (ICE-GB) for British English (BrE) to determine whether there are variations between the two corpora. A log-likelihood test was used to determine whether the observed variations were statistically significant. In addition, eight morphosyntactic features that are reported to show variation by Kortmann, Lunkenheimer and Ehret (2020) were used to determine whether innovation and nativisation occur in ZE and to ascertain the stage of ZE in the dynamic model (DM). A comparative analysis revealed statistically significant variations in the normalised frequency (per 10 000 words) of the indefinite article, with the ICE-GB recording a higher normalised frequency. Regarding the zero article, the normalised frequency was higher in the ZE corpus compared to the ICE-GB. There were no significant differences in the usage frequencies of the definite article in the two corpora. The findings indicate that the eight features belong to different categories from A to D. Data analysis showed that ZE is at stage 2 of the DM because features 62, 63 and 65 existed, but were extremely rare, and at stage 3 since feature 67 was neither pervasive nor extremely rare. Trends and gaps in perinatal anxiety research remain unknown. The objective of this bibliometric review was to analyze the characteristics and trends in published research on perinatal anxiety to inform future research. All published literature in Web of Science on perinatal anxiety from January 1, 1920 to December 31, 2020 were screened by two reviewers. VOSViewer was utilized to visualize linkages between publications. Bibliometric data were extracted from abstracts. The search strategy identified 4561 publications. After screening, 2203 publications related to perinatal anxiety were used for the visualization analysis. For the bibliometric data, 1534 publications had perinatal anxiety as a primary focus. There were 7910 different authors, over half named only once (55.5 %), from 63 countries. 495 journals were identified, with over half (56.0 %) publishing only one article. Most articles were published between 2011 and 2020 (75.9 %). In terms of perinatal timing, over half (54.2 %) published on antenatal anxiety. Only 6.0 % of studies reported on perinatal anxiety in fathers and 56.5 % also reported on perinatal depression. Web of Science was solely used, and manual screening of each publication was required. This bibliometric analysis found: (1) perinatal anxiety is a growing field of research, with publications increasing over time; (2) there is variation in authors and journals; (3) over half of the publications focus on antenatal anxiety; (4) paternal anxiety is understudied; and (5) only 6 % of publications came from low and lower-middle income countries. In this study, the design of a dual-band terahertz absorber, previously published by Lu et al. (Symmetry 2018, 10, 293), was re-simulated. Our findings showed significantly different absorption results from those published in the article. A detailed analysis was conducted to explain this discrepancy, which was attributed to the reflection of an unaccounted orthogonal component of the waves from the design, rather than absorption. The metasurface design has two resonances at 4.48 THz and 4.76 THz, respectively. It was reported that at these frequencies, the structure achieved absorption of 98.6% and 98.5%, respectively. However, in our results, it was found that at the second resonance (4.76 THz), the structure acted as a strong cross-polarization converter, reflecting a significant amount of incident energy in the cross-polarization component of the reflected wave. When this component is considered in the reflection coefficient calculations, the absorption reduces to 41% (from 98.5%), which is not an acceptable level for an absorber. In addition, the structure was simulated for both lossy and lossless (FR4) substrate cases to understand the effect of substrate losses. The results showed that the absorption response significantly deteriorates at the first resonance (4.48 THz) in the case of a lossy FR4 substrate. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper describes the assembly of an updated dataset of detrital zircon geochronology and Lu–Hf isotopes for Turkey, Cyprus and Greek peninsula. This first version of the dataset documented 286 samples with detrital zircon U–Pb data and 70 samples with zircon Lu–Hf isotopes from 42 published articles. These samples are mainly distributed in seven geologic‐tectonic units in the Eastern Mediterranean Tethyan region. The compilation of dataset will be periodically accessed in the Deep‐Time Digital Earth repository, containing more updated raw data of (un)published scientific research. We believe that the construction of such a dataset is fundamental to studies of clastic strata and also to understanding of crustal evolution in the Eastern Mediterranean region. A country-focused study can be defined as a type of study in which the article's topic is limited to a particular country. Based on the assumption that a country-focused article contains one or more country names in the title or keywords (CNtk), the objective of this study was to investigate the characteristics of country-focused articles in Library and Information Science (LIS) journals. For this study, we selected 30 journals from the Scimago Journal Rank with the highest h-index scores to empirically investigate LIS articles with CNtk. The respective bibliographic records of these journals from 2010 to 2020 were downloaded from Scopus. In terms of subject categories, journals that addressed scientific and technical topics published fewer country-focused articles. In contrast, those on culture, society and government published a higher number of country-focused articles. One exception to this generalisation is that country-focused studies were found to be highly prevalent in certain technical subjects, such as bibliometrics. Although additional empirical evidence is needed for other fields of study, the proposed method seems valuable in analysing journal characteristics since it provides country-specific information about the published articles. The Family Journal is a quarterly peer-reviewed professional journal that has undergone substantial changes in the last three years. A content analysis of the first 13 years of the journal (Southern, 2006) provided a context for understanding changes over time. The preliminary results of a pilot content analysis for 2023 (Volume 31, Issues 1–4) identified types and subtypes of published articles as well as categories, subcategories, and domains. The pilot testing refined categories and raised important issues for the ongoing content analysis. One of the major challenges involves the proliferation of international manuscripts and quantitative research designs. The mission of the journal is to balance theory, research, and practice for the predominantly clinical readership. In a notorious passage from his Philosophical Investigations, Wittgenstein writes that one can state of the standard metre neither that it is one metre long, nor that it is not one metre long. While many commentators have rejected this claim, it has been commonly assumed that Wittgenstein himself endorsed it. In a recently published article, Thomas Müller not only provides a novel argument against Wittgenstein's claim about the standard metre but also claims that Wittgenstein did not actually endorse that claim. Off-site construction (OSC) is an environmentally friendly building method with substantial benefits, yet it encounters challenges, particularly in supply chain efficiency. Current research on off-site construction supply chain (OSCSC) challenges faces issues such as dispersion, cross-disciplinarity, and timeliness. This is despite a number of studies in recent years focusing on the optimization of OSCSC to improve their performance and efficiency. However, the current literature still lacks a comprehensive summary of OSCSC problems, which hinders the popularization of OSC. To address this, improve OSCSC efficiency, and enhance OSC practicability, this paper conducted a thorough review of 244 published articles. Utilizing bibliometrics and scientometrics methods, it identified research trends, prominent researchers, and topics. Current OSCSC issues were further extracted and classified from the internal supply chain perspective. The findings reveal key issues hindering OSCSC efficiency, offering practitioners, policymakers, and researchers a nuanced understanding of current research issues. In addition, this paper provides future research directions and performance optimization recommendations, contributing to solving OSCSC challenges and exploring innovative solutions for continuous improvement in the OSCSC field. In this editorial, we introduce snapshots of the entire set of published articles in this special issue of Professional School Counseling. We also incorporate our own individual and collective journeys reading, digesting, editing, and reacting to this material. We take the opportunity to present our impressions both visually and narratively to demonstrate how group counseling in schools remains relevant and continues to expand while holding on to salient foundational concepts. In particular, these articles are visually situated in relation to the multitiered systems of support (MTSS) framework as a way to demonstrate the impact groups can have on entire schools and communities. Throughout this introduction, we raise questions that have yet to be answered and challenge scholars to explore others not addressed by this compilation of articles. In this article, we analyze how European Union Politics has evolved over the last 25 years. Our analysis demonstrates that the goals the editorial team has pursued over this quarter century have only partly been reached. While the journal has helped to consolidate EU studies as a field of research in its own rights, several problems of representation persist in the journal and the social sciences in general. We identify besides the well-known gender gap that especially authors from the (European) South and East continue to be underrepresented in submitted and published articles. While less represented and successful at the submission stage, our results show that female scholars are more likely than male author teams to publish high-impact articles. Our findings indicate that studies of political behavior, broadly conceived, and articles using quantitative methods are well-represented. Background: With more than 1.2 million illnesses and 29,000 deaths in sub-Saharan Africa in 2017, typhoid fever continues to be a major public health problem. Effective control of the disease would benefit from an understanding of the subnational geospatial distribution of the disease incidence. Method: We collated records of the incidence rate of typhoid fever confirmed by culture of blood in Africa from 2000 to 2022. We estimated the typhoid incidence rate for sub-Saharan Africa on 20 km × 20 km grids by exploring the association with geospatial covariates representing access to improved water and sanitation, health conditions of the population, and environmental conditions. Results: We identified six published articles and one pre-print representing incidence rate estimates in 22 sites in 2000–2022. Estimated incidence rates showed geospatial variation at sub-national, national, and regional levels. The incidence rate was high in Western and Eastern African subregions followed by Southern and Middle African subregions. By age, the incidence rate was highest among 5–14 yo followed by 2–4 yo, > 14 yo, and 0–1 yo. When aggregated across all age classes and grids that comprise each country, predicted incidence rates ranged from 43.7 (95% confidence interval: 0.6 to 591.2) in Zimbabwe to 2,957.8 (95% CI: 20.8 to 4,245.2) in South Sudan per 100,000 person-years. Sub-national heterogeneity was evident with the coefficient of variation at the 20 km × 20 km grid-level ranging from 0.7 to 3.3 and was generally lower in high-incidence countries and widely varying in low-incidence countries. Conclusion: Our study provides estimates of 20 km × 20 km incidence rate of typhoid fever across sub-Saharan Africa based on data collected from 2000 through 2020. Increased understanding of the subnational geospatial variation of typhoid fever in Africa may inform more effective intervention programs by better targeting resources to heterogeneously disturbed disease risk. A comprehensive understanding of the disease's geospatial distribution is pivotal for its control—a gap previous studies overlooked. Addressing this, we undertook a study to chart the incidence of typhoid fever throughout sub-Saharan Africa. Using data from 2000 to 2022, we developed high-resolution maps with a granularity of 20 km by 20 km, detailing the spatial distribution of typhoid incidence. Our findings reveal pronounced disparities in typhoid incidence across different geospatial tiers: from local communities to entire nations and regions. Particularly, Western and Eastern Africa registered the highest incidences, with children aged 5–14 years being the most vulnerable. Distinctively, countries such as South Sudan reported alarmingly high figures, whereas Zimbabwe had notably fewer cases. Such insights are indispensable for health policymakers at local, national, and global levels. Pinpointing the areas hardest hit by typhoid allows for a more strategic allocation of resources and interventions. Introduction: The modified myocardial performance index (mod-MPI) is a noninvasive Doppler-derived metric used to evaluate fetal cardiac function. However, the reference ranges for mod-MPI in normal fetuses are not clearly defined, which limits the use of this technology in fetuses with potential cardiac compromise. Thus, we aimed to perform a systematic review and meta-analysis of published mod-MPI reference ranges across gestation. Methods: The published literature was systematically searched, and all published articles in any language that provided values for the left ventricular mod-MPI obtained in low-risk, singleton fetuses were considered eligible for further review. All retrieved titles and abstracts were independently reviewed by two researchers. Mean and standard deviation by gestational week was extracted or calculated from published data. DerSimonian-Laird random-effects models were used to estimate pooled means and 95% confidence intervals (CIs). Results: The search resulted in 618 unique citations, of which 583 did not meet inclusion criteria, leaving 35 abstracts selected for full-text review. Review of the references of these 35 articles identified another 5 studies of interest. Of the 40 articles reviewed, six met inclusion criteria. There was significant heterogeneity seen in the mod-MPI results reported. Mod-MPI increased as pregnancy progressed in all studies. The pooled mean mod-MPI at 11 weeks' gestation was 0.400 (95% CI 0.374–0.426) and increased to 0.585 (95% CI 0.533–0.637) at 41 weeks' gestation. The increase was linear in 5 of 6 studies, while in 1 study, the mod-MPI was stable until 27 weeks' gestation, and then increased throughout the third trimester. Despite all having trends increasing over pregnancy, there was no study in which all the weekly means fell within the pooled 95% CI. Conclusion: While mod-MPI does increase over gestation, the true "reference ranges" for fetuses remain elusive. Future efforts to further optimize calculation of time intervals possibly via automation are desperately needed to allow for reproducibility of this potentially very useful tool to assess fetal cardiac function. Vaccinations have shown a decrease in human papillomavirus (HPV) infection-related cervical cancer in women, but there has been a sharp rise in the HPV infection-related oropharyngeal cancer cases over the past few decades. Recent studies have suggested the association of HPV infections with tonsillar cancers as well and suggestions regarding preventive tonsillectomies in order to achieve a decrease in HPV infection-related oropharyngeal or tonsillar cancer have arisen. However, there is limited cumulative evidence validated at a global level to support the endorsement of this strategy. This research revolves around the concept of burden of tonsillar carcinomas due to oropharyngeal HPV infection. Thus, a systematic review and meta-analysis of existing studies was undertaken to estimate the pooled prevalence of tonsillar cancer associated with oropharyngeal HPV infection. Published articles on tonsillar cancer with and without HPV infection from PubMed, Embase, Scopus and Web of Science were systematically searched from inception until 23 December 2021. A random-effects model was used to estimate the pooled prevalence forest plots. The systematic review revealed that 50% of the reported cases of tonsillar cancer had an oropharyngeal HPV infection, questioning the preventive nature of an early tonsillectomy which is essentially an invasive surgical procedure. Large heterogeneity was reported in the included studies, and there was insufficient data for sub-group analysis. Future research and representative studies are required to thoroughly explore the correlation between HPV infection and tonsillar cancer. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Functional traits are critical tools in plant ecology for capturing organism–environment interactions based on trade‐offs and making links between organismal and ecosystem processes. While broad frameworks for functional traits have been developed for vascular plants, we lack the same for bryophytes, despite an escalation in the number of studies on bryophyte functional trait in the last 45 years and an increased recognition of the ecological roles bryophytes play across ecosystems. In this review, we compiled data from 282 published articles (10,005 records) that focused on functional traits measured in mosses and sought to examine trends in types of traits measured, capture taxonomic and geographic breadth of trait coverage, reveal biases in coverage in the current literature, and develop a bryophyte‐function index (BFI) to describe the completeness of current trait coverage and identify global gaps to focus research efforts. The most commonly measured response traits (those related to growth/reproduction in individual organisms) and effect traits (those that directly affect community/ecosystem scale processes) fell into the categories of morphology (e.g., leaf area, shoot height) and nutrient storage/cycling, and our BFI revealed that these data were most commonly collected from temperate and boreal regions of Europe, North America, and East Asia. However, fewer than 10% of known moss species have available functional trait information. Our synthesis revealed a need for research on traits related to ontogeny, sex, and intraspecific plasticity and on co‐measurement of traits related to water relations and bryophyte‐mediated soil processes. Background: One practice in healthcare implementation is patient engagement in quality improvement and systems redesign. Implementers in healthcare systems include clinical leadership, middle managers, quality improvement personnel, and others facilitating changes or adoption of new interventions. Patients provide input into different aspects of health research. However, there is little attention to involve patients in implementing interventions, especially in the United States (U.S.), and this might be essential to reduce inequities. Implementers need clear strategies to overcome challenges, and might be able to learn from countries outside the U.S. Methods: We wanted to understand existing work about how patients are being included in implementation activities in real world U.S. healthcare settings. We conducted an environmental scan of three data sources: webinars, published articles, and interviews with implementers who engaged patients in implementation activities in U.S. healthcare settings. We extracted, categorized, and triangulated from data sources the key activities, recurring challenges, and promising solutions using a coding template. Results: We found 27 examples of patient engagement in U.S. healthcare implementation across four webinars, 11 published articles, and seven interviews, mostly arranging patient engagement through groups and arranging processes for patients that changed how engaged they were able to be. Participants rarely specified if they were engaging a population experiencing healthcare inequities. Participants described eight recurring challenges; the two most frequently identified were: (1) recruiting patients representative of those served in the healthcare system; and (2) ensuring processes for equitable communication among all. We matched recurring challenges to promising solutions, such as logistic solutions on how to arrange meetings to enhance engagement or training in inclusivity and power-sharing. Conclusion: We clarified how some U.S. implementers are engaging patients in healthcare implementation activities using less and more intensive engagement. It was unclear whether reducing inequities was a goal. Patient engagement in redesigning U.S. healthcare service delivery appears similar to or less intense than in countries with more robust infrastructure for this, such as Canada and the United Kingdom. Successful oral insulin administration can considerably enhance the quality of life (QOL) of diabetes patients who must frequently take insulin injections. Oral insulin administration, on the other hand, is seriously hampered by gastrointestinal enzymes, wide pH range, mucus and mucosal layers, which limit insulin oral bioavailability to ≤ 2%. Therefore, a large number of technological solutions have been proposed to increase the oral bioavailability of insulin, in which polymeric nanoparticles (PNPs) are highly promising for oral insulin delivery. The recently published research articles chosen for this review are based on applications of PNPs with strong future potential in oral insulin delivery, and do not cover all related work. In this review, we will summarize the controlled release mechanisms of oral insulin delivery, latest oral insulin delivery applications of PNPs nanocarrier, challenges and prospect. Objective: The objective of this scoping review is to carry out a systemic search of published articles to identify and explore the strengths and challenges encountered by students, teachers, and administrative staff in the realm of online assessment, particularly in the context of the ongoing challenges posed by the Coronavirus pandemic, taking into consideration the needs and requirements in online education. Method: This review adhered to the Arksey and O'Malley framework, incorporating data from four databases. It focused on studies related to online assessment during and after the COVID-19 pandemic within the past three years. A total of 11 articles met the inclusion criteria, and the QualSyst appraisal tool was applied for methodological assessment. The synthesis of data resulted in the presentation of findings, reflecting the contemporary evolution of online assessment methodologies. Result: Diverse challenges and strengths associated with online assessment were identified and categorized based on the roles of students, teachers, and administrative staff. Students faced challenges like internet connectivity and distractions, while faculty dealt with increased screen time and invigilation difficulties. Similarly, administrative staff had a heavier workload, however, students appreciated transparency, faculty valued reduced marking loads, and IT staff saw fewer cheating chances and the benefit of recording availability for review. Conclusion: This scoping review serves as a valuable resource for medical schools, offering insights into the challenges and strengths of online assessment during and post the COVID-19 pandemic. Background Among breast reconstruction methods, implant-based breast reconstruction has become the mainstream. However, periprosthetic infection is still an unresolved problem. Although published articles have revealed that limited use of antibiotics is sufficient to reduce infection rates, the number of surgeons still preferring elongated usage of antibiotics is not less. The aim of our study is to validate the appropriate duration of antibiotic use to reduce infection rate after implant-based breast reconstruction. Methods A retrospective study reviewed medical record of 235 patients (274 implants for reconstruction) who underwent prepectoral direct to implant breast reconstruction using acellular dermal matrix wrapping technique. Infection rates were analyzed for the patients administered postoperative prophylactic antibiotics until drain removal and those who received only perioperative prophylactic antibiotics for 24 hours. Results Of the 274 implants, 98 who were administered prophylactic antibiotics until drain removal had an infection rate of 3.06% (three implants) and 176 who received prophylactic antibiotics no longer than 24 hours postoperatively had an infection rate of 4.49% (eight implants). A total of 11 patients diagnosed with postoperative infection clinically, 8 were salvaged by antibiotic treatment, and 3 had implant removal and replacement with autologous flap. Postoperative antibiotic prophylaxis duration had no statistically significant effects in the risk of infection (p = 0.549). Conclusion The duration of prophylactic antibiotics after surgery was not related to infection risk. As part of the research project \"Summa cum fraude - Scientific Misconduct and an Attempt at Counteroffensive\" at Saarland University, an interview was conducted with Ivan Oransky. Oransky is a co-founder of the Retraction Watch database and the Retraction Watch blog, which address scientific misconduct and the retraction of published articles. In the interview, he discusses scientific misconduct, such as data manipulation and peer review processes, as well as plagiarism. He emphasizes the importance of clear retraction notices and sanctions for misconduct. Oransky sees a role for libraries and librarians in ensuring the quality of data and research. The number of retracted scientific articles has dramatically increased in the last 25 years. In 2021, over 3800 retractions were recorded, compared to about 40 in 2000. The retraction rate is currently at 0.08%, while it was at 0.04% four or five years ago. There is a clear upward trend, and some publishers even report hundreds of retractions at once. The Retraction Watch database and blog provide information on this issue and are used by many people. There are various reasons for retractions, such as fake reviews, legal issues, or authorship questions. Guidelines like those of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) can help reduce the number of retractions and improve the integrity of scientific publications. It is important to communicate transparently about retractions to bring about long-term changes. There are already approaches such as registered reports and the disclosure of peer reviews that can improve scientific practice. However, the challenge remains of how best to handle allegations against scientific publications and ensure that they are taken seriously and addressed. It requires better infrastructure and collaboration between researchers, publishers, and other service providers to track and systematically document reports of questionable publications. Cu-MOFs are exciting materials with lots of unique characteristics which will be suitable for sensing applications. To date, there have not been any published review on the suitability and efficiency of Cu-MOFs on hydrogen peroxide sensing, despite its huge potential in this regard. This systematic review assessed published articles on the subject using the Web of Science. The included studies were assessed in terms of quality using the risk of bias assessment criteria. Out of the 101 screened articles, 50 studies were eligible and included in this review. Non-enzymatic detection of hydrogen peroxide using copper-based MOFs exhibited better performance in terms of limit of detection, sensitivity, and linear response than enzyme-assisted detection. Ligand type and Cu-MOF synthetic techniques demonstrated a great effect on the structural property of the synthesized MOF, which in turn improved its catalytic property. Based on the available data in the reviewed articles. Cu-MOFs has great potential for use as commercial hydrogen peroxide sensor. The a priori procedure was designed as a pre-data procedure whereby researchers could find the sample sizes necessary to ensure that sample statistics to be obtained are within particular distances of corresponding population parameters with known probabilities. Researchers specify desired precisions (distances of sample statistics from corresponding population parameters) and desired confidences (probabilities of being within desired distances), and this procedure provides necessary sample sizes to meet precision and confidence specifications. Although the a priori procedure has been devised for a variety of experimental paradigms, these have all been simple. The present article constitutes its extension to analysis of variance models. BACKGROUND: Various studies have been conducted to analyze data via bibliometric analysis in different dentistry, including prosthetic dentistry. However, these studies evaluated the most cited published articles in dentistry. OBJECTIVE: To analyze and evaluate the characteristic development of several mesh keywords in the Journal of Prosthodontics – Implant, Esthetic, and Reconstructive Dentistry between 1992 and 2022. METHODS: The Scopus databases was searched to retrieve the data related to 8 categories, including published articles, most cited documents, authors and organizations, and maximum articles cited during the evaluation period. The data retrieved were exported to a Microsoft Excel sheet and were analyzed using the bibliometrix package. The data were first analyzed for ten years and then for 30 years. The highest of 10 were reported for each category, and co-authorship, reoccurrence, and linked data were also reported. RESULTS: 2603 published documents were recorded from the Scopus databases. Articles comprised 87.9% of the total published work, followed by review articles at 5.46%. The most productive decade was between 2013 and 2022. 3793 terms were used during the evaluation period, with the maximum number in 2003–2012 (2481). A total of 5392 keywords were used during 1992–2022, with the highest number (3232) from 2013 to 2022. A total of 6108 authors were acknowledged, with the maximum number (3964) from 2013 to 2022 and the fewest (767) from 1992 to 2002. Authors from different countries increased from 17 countries in 1992–2002 to 52 countries in 2013–2022 (total = 63 countries). Similarly, the number of organizations increased from 312 organizations in 1992–2002 to 1315 organizations in 2013–2022 (total = 1976 organizations). CONCLUSION: The current bibliometric analysis delivered a comprehensive overview about more spread research topics and its impactful role in contemporary dentistry, especially prosthetic dentistry. Extant studies have focused on exploring the research output of universities in Nigeria, but the measure of the quality of research output using citations per paper (CPP) from the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus is scarcely discussed. This paper investigated the quality of papers published by the top 76 universities in Nigeria. Five hypotheses on CPP were tested using Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Whitney tests. These hypotheses tested whether CPP is the same or different i) across six geo-political regions (GPRs), ii) between the two major regions, iii) across three university funding types, iv) in Scopus and WoS, and v) if these two databases are correlated. Results using these two databases indicated that no significant median differences were detected among universities across the six GPRs, between northern and southern Nigeria, and between the three funding types (federal, state, and private). Moreover, no significant median differences in CPP between Scopus and WoS were detected, and CPP in both databases was highly positively correlated (0.879; p = 0.05). A comparison of the mean CPP of Nigeria (5.90) from Scopus with 57 other African countries ranked it 47th despite being ranked third in terms of volume of published articles. Background: Each year, over 100 million patients are afflicted with new scars from medical procedures worldwide. Natural compounds have shown promise in the treatment of scars and skin disorders. Rosehip oil (RO), produced from the pressed fruit of the rosehip (Rosa canina L.) plant, is used in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food industries. The use of this plant in the treatment of scars has yet to be reviewed. Aims: This review aims to analyze the current findings on the use of RO in the treatment of postsurgical scars. Methods: This literature search considered published journal articles (clinical trials or literature reviews). Studies were identified by searching electronic databases (PubMed and MEDLINE) and reference lists of respective articles. Additional articles were identified through Google Scholar. Only articles available in English were included in this review. Results: There is a scarcity of high‐quality studies assessing the therapeutic potential of RO. From the two human clinical trials using RO, there is some evidence to suggest its potential as an active ingredient in topical formulations for the treatment of wounds. Topical treatments containing RO extract may reduce the size and erythema of postsurgical scars through the polarization of macrophages and the inhibition of inflammatory cytokines. Conclusions: Some evidence suggests that RO may improve postsurgical scars. At present, there is insufficient evidence to recommend the use of RO for the treatment of wounds. The use of radiation to treat keloid scars has gained popularity during the last few decades. However, few bibliometric analyses have been performed on the published articles. This research aimed to demonstrate and evaluate the trends, top-cited articles, and frontier areas. In this cross-sectional study, Web of Science (WOS) and Scopus database literature was searched for all MESH terms related to "keloid" and "radiotherapy." The bibliometric analysis was carried out by VOSviewer 1.6.15. Articles with Web of Science-based citations of ≥20 were included. The citation per year index (CPYI) of articles was calculated for further inclusion of papers if they had CPYI higher than the mean value. There were 95 papers on keloid radiation that satisfied the inclusion criteria and were published between 1942 and 2019. The CPYI ranged from 0.38 to 11.3. Most studies were published in the "International Journal of Radiation Oncology, Biology, and Physics" (9 papers). The United States has the most papers (14), followed by Japan (9), the Netherlands (7), and Germany (5). To the best of our knowledge, this is the first bibliometric analysis of top-cited papers on keloid radiotherapy. From 2014 to the present, it seems that this title has resurfaced as a popular topic, with radiotherapy within 24 h of surgery being the most commonly recommended treatment plan. Since around 2011, high-dose-rate brachytherapy (HDR-BT) has been used as an effective treatment for keloid control. Background: Social media (SoMe) use, in all of its forms, has seen massively increased throughout the past two decades, including academic publishing. Many journals have established a SoMe presence, yet the influence of promotion of scientific publications on their visibility and impact remains poorly studied. The European Journal of Neurosurgery «Acta Neurochirurgica» has established its SoMe presence in form of a Twitter account that regularly promotes its publications. We aim to analyze the impact of this initial SoMe campaign on various alternative metrics (altmetrics). Methods: A retrospective analysis of all articles published in the journal Acta Neurochirurgica between May 1st, 2018, and April 30th, 2020, was performed. These articles were divided into a historical control group — containing the articles published between May 1st, 2018, and April 30th, 2019, when the SoMe campaign was not yet established — and into an intervention group. Several altmetrics were analyzed, along with website visits and PDF downloads per month. Results: In total, 784 articles published during the study period, 128 (16.3%) were promoted via Twitter. During the promotion period, 29.7% of published articles were promoted. Overall, the published articles reached a mean of 31.3 ± 50.5 website visits and 17.5 ± 31.25 PDF downloads per month. Comparing the two study periods, no statistically significant differences in website visits (26.91 ± 32.87 vs. 34.90 ± 61.08, p = 0.189) and PDF downloads (17.52 ± 31.25 vs. 15.33 ± 16.07, p = 0.276) were detected. However, overall compared to non-promoted articles, promoted articles were visited (48.9 ± 95.0 vs. 29.0 ± 37.0, p = 0.005) and downloaded significantly more (25.7 ± 66.7 vs. 16.6 ± 18.0, p = 0.045) when compared to those who were not promoted during the promotion period. Conclusions: We report a 1-year initial experience with promotion of a general neurosurgical journal on Twitter. Our data suggest a clear benefit of promotion on article site visits and article downloads, although no single responsible element could be determined in terms of altmetrics. The advent of connected vehicles (CVs) starts a new era in the field of pavement evaluation. With CVs on roads, the wide fleet of vehicles will constantly transmit pavement data to central servers and also share the necessary information with one another. Such a system presents opportunities for continuous, crowdsourced, and cost-effective monitoring of pavement assets and the development of pavement management databanks. This study reviewed the published studies on CV-based pavement evaluation, summarised the findings, and identified research gaps. In the published resources, 9 different applications have been proposed for CVs in the field of pavement monitoring (some applications are discussed in more than 1 resource): roughness measurement (proposed in 37.5% of resources), distress detection (31%), gathering road weather data (22%), slippery pavement recognition (19%), distress classification (12.5%), road geometry/type evaluation (9%), road amenities detection (9%), skid resistance measurement (6%), and distress intensity measurement (4.5%). The performed case studies were also scrutinised based on utilised sensors, data types, analysis methods, and connectivity messages and networks. In this article we share the findings emanating from a 20 year (2003–2022) review of South African Early Grade Mathematics (EGM) research articles published in key international and local/regional journals. The review shows a substantial increase in the volume of published EGM articles in the second decade (2013–2022), nationally and internationally. These increases are marked across the key clusters of articles seen in our analysis: Teachers and Teaching, Learners and Learning, Language and Multilingualism, and Assessment. The emergence of the South African Journal of Childhood Education as a phase-specific journal in 2011 has been a particularly important factor within the increasing volume of publication. We note too, that whilst the base of publication across institutions has broadened in the local/regional publication space, international publications are tied primarily to projects linked with established South African Research Chairs. [Purpose] Transarterial radioembolization (TARE) is an established treatment modality for patients with unresectable liver cancer. However, a better understanding of treatment parameters that influence microsphere distribution could further improve the therapy. This systematic review examines and summarizes the available evidence on intraprocedural parameters that influence the microsphere distribution during TARE as investigated by in vivo, ex vivo, in vitro and in silico studies. [Methods] A standardized search was performed in Medline, Embase and Web of Science to identify all published articles investigating microsphere distribution or dynamics during TARE. Studies presenting original research on parameters influencing the microsphere distribution during TARE were included. [Results] A total of 42 studies reporting a total of 11 different parameters were included for narrative analysis. The investigated studies suggest that flow distribution is not a perfect predictor of microsphere distribution. Increasing the injection velocity may help increase the similarity between flow and microsphere distributions. Furthermore, the microsphere distributions are very sensitive to the radial and axial catheter position. [Conclusion] The most promising parameters for future research which can be controlled in the clinic appear to be microsphere injection velocity as well as the axial catheter position. Up to now, many of the included studies do not take clinical feasibility into account, limiting the translation of results to clinical settings. Future research should therefore focus on the applicability of in vivo, in vitro, or in silico research to patient specific scenarios to improve the efficacy of radioembolization as treatment for liver cancer. Despite being central to the implementation of conservation policies, the usefulness of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) Red List of Threatened Species is hampered by the 14% of species classified as data‐deficient (DD) because information to evaluate these species' extinction risk was lacking when they were last assessed or because assessors did not appropriately account for uncertainty. Robust methods are needed to identify which DD species are more likely to be reclassified in one of the data‐sufficient IUCN Red List categories. We devised a reproducible method to help red‐list assessors prioritize reassessment of DD species and tested it with 6887 DD species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fishes, and Odonata (dragonflies and damselflies). For each DD species in these groups, we calculated its probability of being classified in a data‐sufficient category if reassessed today from covariates measuring available knowledge (e.g., number of occurrence records or published articles available), knowledge proxies (e.g., remoteness of the range), and species characteristics (e.g., nocturnality); calculated change in such probability since last assessment from the increase in available knowledge (e.g., new occurrence records); and determined whether the species might qualify as threatened based on recent rate of habitat loss determined from global land‐cover maps. We identified 1907 species with a probability of being reassessed in a data‐sufficient category of >0.5; 624 species for which this probability increased by >0.25 since last assessment; and 77 species that could be reassessed as near threatened or threatened based on habitat loss. Combining these 3 elements, our results provided a list of species likely to be data‐sufficient such that the comprehensiveness and representativeness of the IUCN Red List can be improved. Summary: Cognition is central to the experience of insomnia. Although unhelpful thoughts about and around insomnia are a primary treatment target of cognitive behaviour therapy for insomnia, cognitive constructs are termed and conceptualised differently in different theories of insomnia proposed over the past decades. In search of consensus in thinking, the current systematic review identified cognitive factors and processes featured in theoretical models of insomnia and mapped any commonality between models. We systematically searched PsycINFO and PubMed for published theoretical articles on the development, maintenance and remission of insomnia, from inception of databases to February, 2023. A total of 2458 records were identified for title and abstract screening. Of these, 34 were selected for full‐text assessment and 12 included for analysis and data synthesis following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta‐Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines. We identified nine distinguishable models of insomnia published between 1982 and 2023 and extracted 20 cognitive factors and processes featured in these models; 39 if sub‐factors were counted. After assigning similarity ratings, we observed a high degree of overlap between constructs despite apparent differences in terminologies and measurement methods. Contrast-induced acute kidney injury (CI-AKI) has become the third leading cause of hospital-acquired kidney injury. A comprehensive analysis of the current state of research in the field of CI-AKI will help to reveal trends and hot topics in the field. To date, there are no published bibliometric analyses related to CI-AKI studies. Here, we analyze the relevant literature since the emergence of the concept and provide valuable insights. The literature was collected from the Web of Science Core Collection. The data were analyzed visually using CiteSpace and VOSviewer software. We collected a total of 4775 papers, with the United States and Guangdong Acad Med Sci as the major publishing powers in terms of country/region and institution. J AM COLL CARDIOL was the journal with the most published and cocited articles. Cluster analysis showed that clinical trials are the current research hotspot. The areas of risk assessment, prevention strategies, risk factors, and vascular lesions have been popular in recent years. Research on the mechanism of injury in CI-AKI will be the focus of future research, which will be crucial to reduce the clinical incidence of CI-AKI. In summary, this study provides a comprehensive analysis of the development process in the field of CI-AKI and discusses future research directions based on the analysis of objective data from many studies on CI-AKI. Objective Research productivity impacts an individual's academic credentials and serves to advance the field of neurosurgery at large. Poster presentations allow researchers to share preliminary results with respected colleagues; however, more critical is the ability to publish peer-reviewed articles. Key factors that lead posters to journal publication are not well understood and difficult to quantify. This study investigates the association between bibliometrics of authors who presented posters at the North American Skull Base Society (NASBS) meeting and odds of journal publication. Methods Posters from the 2016 to 2018 NASBS archive were reviewed. Hirsch-index (h-index) of first (FH) and senior (SH) authors, research type, research topic, and number of poster authors (nAuthPost) were collected. For posters published as journal articles, number of days from poster presentation to publication (nDays), number of authors in published articles (nAuthArt), and journal impact factor (JIF) were recorded. Results One-hundred sixty-nine of 481 posters (35.1%) were published as articles. Median FH and SH for published versus unpublished posters were 7 versus 5 (p = 0.01) and 29 versus 19 (p < 0.001), respectively. When adjusted with multivariate regression, only SH (p < 0.001) and nAuthPost (p = 0.001) were significantly associated with odds of publication. Median (interquartile range [IQR]) nDays was 361 (394). Increased authors from poster to article (p = 0.017) and lower FH (p = 0.08) were correlated with increased time to publication. Median (IQR) JIF for all publications was 1.723 (1.068). Antibodies are critical reagents to detect and characterize proteins. It is commonly understood that many commercial antibodies do not recognize their intended targets, but information on the scope of the problem remains largely anecdotal, and as such, feasibility of the goal of at least one potent and specific antibody targeting each protein in a proteome cannot be assessed. Focusing on antibodies for human proteins, we have scaled a standardized characterization approach using parental and knockout cell lines (Laflamme et al., 2019) to assess the performance of 614 commercial antibodies for 65 neuroscience-related proteins. Side-by-side comparisons of all antibodies against each target, obtained from multiple commercial partners, have demonstrated that: (i) more than 50% of all antibodies failed in one or more applications, (ii) yet, ~50-75% of the protein set was covered by at least one high-performing antibody, depending on application, suggesting that coverage of human proteins by commercial antibodies is significant; and (iii) recombinant antibodies performed better than monoclonal or polyclonal antibodies. The hundreds of underperforming antibodies identified in this study were found to have been used in a large number of published articles, which should raise alarm. Encouragingly, more than half of the underperforming commercial antibodies were reassessed by the manufacturers, and many had alterations to their recommended usage or were removed from the market. This first study helps demonstrate the scale of the antibody specificity problem but also suggests an efficient strategy toward achieving coverage of the human proteome; mine the existing commercial antibody repertoire, and use the data to focus new renewable antibody generation efforts. The data-driven machine learning technique is widely used to assist in accelerating the design of thermoelectric materials. In this study, we proposed a positive and unlabeled learning (PU learning) method, a semi-supervised learning, to train a classifier to distinguish the positive samples from the unlabeled samples, in which the positive class was labeled by matching the formulas in our dataset with the published article titles. The probabilities that the unlabeled materials belong to the positive class were predicted by PU learning, and 40 candidate thermoelectric materials were determined. The transport properties were calculated by high-throughput first-principles calculations, among which 8 p-type and 12 n-type materials have the maximum theoretical zT values greater than 1. Specifically, a series of AX2 binary compounds, (Cd/Zn)(GaTe2)2 ternary compounds, and Cs(Dy/Ho/Tb)2Ag3Te5 quaternary compounds deserve further investigations in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The advent of connected vehicles (CVs) starts a new era in the field of pavement evaluation. With CVs on roads, the wide fleet of vehicles will constantly transmit pavement data to central servers and also share the necessary information with one another. Such a system presents opportunities for continuous, crowdsourced, and cost-effective monitoring of pavement assets and the development of pavement management databanks. This study reviewed the published studies on CV-based pavement evaluation, summarised the findings, and identified research gaps. In the published resources, 9 different applications have been proposed for CVs in the field of pavement monitoring (some applications are discussed in more than 1 resource): roughness measurement (proposed in 37.5% of resources), distress detection (31%), gathering road weather data (22%), slippery pavement recognition (19%), distress classification (12.5%), road geometry/type evaluation (9%), road amenities detection (9%), skid resistance measurement (6%), and distress intensity measurement (4.5%). The performed case studies were also scrutinised based on utilised sensors, data types, analysis methods, and connectivity messages and networks. In the end nine research subjects with no attention in the previous studies and five research subjects with insufficient attention in the published articles were identified. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
