Race car drivers not only face high-speed challenges but also need to manage complex team dynamics and sponsor relations and are exposed to unique fan access while competing. This study examines the unique psychological aspects of motorsports and how race car drivers currently train psychological skills to match these distinctive demands. Adopting a phenomenological approach, this study involved semistructured interviews with 11 professional race car drivers. The interviews focused on drivers' psychological experiences during racing and their psychological preparation. Thematic analysis of the interview data revealed key psychological factors impacting performance. These included concentration, confidence, anxiety, managing emotional states, unique social aspects, and motivation. Drivers also had an interest in psychological-skills training but reported a lack of resources and consistent application. This study highlights the unique psychological challenges presented in motorsports, and the findings underscore the need for targeted psychological-skills training and resources for race car drivers. The #metoo movement prompted many librarians to self-disclose accounts of sexual harassment within their workplaces. In 2022, we used the validated Sexual Experiences Questionnaire to survey people who had recently worked in public libraries in order to measure the prevalence of sexual harassment within the field. A very high percentage of respondents stated they had experienced inappropriate behaviors from coworkers, patrons, and/or board of trustees. Injuries, and their psychological and maladaptive behavioral consequences, are an inevitable by-product of sport participation. This study sought to investigate the prevalence of maladaptive behaviors and psychological corollaries of long-term injury in order to understand if these are universal experiences of long-term injured athletes. Competitive athletes (n = 187; average time spent injured =43 weeks), across a range of sports completed an online questionnaire developed to investigate the psychological and behavioral consequences of long-term injury. Results indicated that negative symptoms after injury were a universal experience and are the "normal" response to injury, not the "exception." The most prevalent psychological consequences were rumination (97.9%), boredom (94.7%), and fear of reinjury (93.6%). Furthermore, indicators of suicidal ideation were reported by more than 50% of participants. Factor analysis revealed a six-factor model: (a) self-sabotaging behavior, (b) daily functioning, (c) addictive behavior, (d) clinical issues, (e) fixation on injury, and (f) compromised athletic identity. All factors significantly correlated with debilitating impact. Thus, this study calls for a change to the support of long-term injured athletes to include routine psychological care. The ideological basis of the article is devoted to the socio-legal issues of the structural component of society, namely, the family. The authors identify the qualifying criminal law aspects of domestic violence in Ukraine in order to highlight the trends of illegal, violent, domestic behaviour. Distinguishing between various forms of domestic violence, the authors focus on the phenomenon of gender in the system of classification of violent acts. The authors highlight the psychosomatic impact on the individual's body as a result of active and/or passive unlawful acts. Based on national legislation and international legal acts, the authors describe the likelihood of criminal liability for domestic violence. In addition, the authors outline the methods for determining the manifestations of violence in the family as a structural unit of society and the principles of prosecution based on the current legislation of Ukraine, in particular, criminal law. Domestic violence is a complex social and multifaceted phenomenon that affects the moral and psychological background and requires careful analysis. Criminal law assessment of this phenomenon should take into account not only legal norms, but also moral and psychological factors of influence of persons who commit them on the victim. The analysis of the moral and psychological aspects of criminal offenses related to domestic violence allows for a better understanding of motivational mechanisms, mental disorders, personal characteristics of offenders, including psychological trauma, social norms, cultural institutions and personal experiences. A very important aspect is that many cases of domestic violence are concealed due to fear of the victim, social pressure or distrust of law enforcement. This phenomenon encompasses various forms of violence, such as mental violence, physical coercion, economic violence, sexual coercion, and has a significant impact on the legal system and society as a whole. The legislation of many countries provides for special rules that qualify domestic violence as a separate criminal offense. In Ukraine, for example, this is provided for in Article 126-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which defines criminal liability for this phenomenon. Thus, the criminal law assessment of domestic violence should be comprehensive, including both moral and psychological aspects, as well as legal aspects to ensure effective protection of the rights of victims and fair punishment of offenders. The purpose of the research is to provide a legal and sociological definition of the terminology of domestic violence and its features, to compare the legislation of different countries on domestic violence, and to identify psychosomatic manifestations of violent acts in the family. Using data from China's 2017 national household survey, we examine the effect of psychological distance on Chinese farmers' willingness to make financing choices. Our empirical results show that psychological distance has a statistically significant impact on farmers' choice of finance. A close psychological distance increases farmers' willingness to choose financial institutions by activating low-level construal representation. Fintech plays an intermediary role. The psychological distance between farmers and financial institutions affects farmers' financing choices and is mediated by fintech. The perioperative period can be a stressful time for many patients. Concerns for the procedure or fearing potential complications contribute to perioperative anxiety and depression, which significantly impact patient wellbeing and recovery. Understanding the psychological impact of the perioperative period can inform individualized care focused on each patient's unique stressors. Compassion-based interventions are limited but have shown benefits in non-surgical healthcare settings, and can provide support by prioritizing empathy and understanding in the perioperative period. This review evaluates the impact of compassion-based interventions on anxiety and depression among adult surgical patients. A systematic review of 25 randomized controlled trials was conducted with a meta-analysis of 14 studies for anxiety and 9 studies for depression that provided sufficient information. The included studies tested compassion-based interventions that focused on enhanced communication, emotional support, and individualized attention from healthcare professionals. In 72 % of the studies, the interventions decreased anxiety and depression, compared to control groups. These interventions improved health-related outcomes such patient satisfaction and postoperative complications. The meta-analysis indicated a large effect of the compassion-based interventions for anxiety (g = −0.95) and depressive symptoms (g = −0.82). The findings were consistent among various surgeries and patient populations. Many of the included studies lacked clarity in their methods and only 14 studies provided sufficient information for the meta-analysis. Sleep disturbance may impact response to psychological treatment for depression. Understanding how sleep disturbance changes during the course of psychological treatment, and identifying the risk factors for sleep disturbance response may inform clinical decision-making. This analysis included 18,915 patients receiving high-intensity psychological therapy for depression from one of eight London-based Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services between 2011 and 2020. Distinct trajectories of change in sleep disturbance were identified using growth mixture modelling. The study also investigated associations between identified trajectory classes, pre-treatment patient characteristics, and eventual treatment outcomes from combined PHQ-9 and GAD-7 metrics used by the services. Six distinct trajectories of sleep disturbance were identified: two demonstrated improvement, while one showed initial deterioration and the other three groups displayed only limited change in sleep disturbance, each with varying baseline sleep disturbance. Associations with trajectory class membership were found based on: gender, ethnicity, employment status, psychotropic medication use, long-term health condition status, severity of depressive symptoms, and functional impairment. Groups that showed improvement in sleep had the best eventual outcomes from depression treatment, followed by groups that consistently slept well. Single item on sleep disturbance used, no data on treatment adherence. These findings reveal heterogeneity in the course of sleep disturbance during psychological treatment for depression. Closer monitoring of changes in sleep disturbance during treatment might inform treatment planning. The survey included the 10‐item Connor–Davidson resilience scale, the Emotion Regulation Questionnaire and the Simple Coping Style Questionnaire. Latent profile analysis and latent transition analysis were used to examine the potential classes and changes. Multivariate logistic regression analysis was applied to evaluate the predictors of resilience transitions.The resilience of frontline nurses was divided into three categories: fragile group, general group and high resilience group. From T1 to T2, the general group exhibited the least stability, with a probability of maintaining its original latent state at 72.9%. Marriage and positive coping styles significantly impacted the transition between resilience categories. From T2 to T3, the fragile group showed the lowest stability, with a 74.9% likelihood of retaining its initial latent state. In this context, supportive hospital management (including psychological counselling, restful environments, and both spiritual and material incentives) and individuals' emotional regulation and sleep quality significantly affected the transition between resilience categories.These findings emphasise the necessity for early intervention. For frontline nurses, conducting initial assessments of resilience coupled with sustained hospital support is crucial for maintaining mental health and improving the quality of nursing care in public health emergencies.This study offers a fresh perspective for understanding the resilience of frontline nurses during public health emergencies. Introduction Patients and methods Results Conclusion Hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) can severely affect the quality of life (QoL) and is linked to psychological distress, including anxiety, depression, and reduced self‐esteem. Stigmatization due to physical appearance may significantly contribute to the psychological burden and impact on QoL for HS patients. This study investigates the association between stigmatization, depression, anxiety, and health‐ and disease‐related variables among HS patients in Europe.This observational cross‐sectional multicenter study was conducted across 22 dermatological outpatient clinics in 17 European countries. Data collected included sociodemographic variables, general health variables, disease‐related variables, perceived stigmatization (PSQ), and mental health (PHQ‐2, GAD‐2).Of the 5487 dermatological patients, 142 (2.6%) were diagnosed with HS, and data from 135 patients (70.1% women, mean age 38.2 years) who completed the PSQ questionnaire were analyzed. Scores on the stigmatization measure indicated that significant stigmatization levels were present in the sample. Linear regression models revealed a significant relationship between stigmatization and both the duration of HS and the presence of itch. Similar findings were noted for the PSQ “confused/staring behavior” scale with depression. The PSQ “absence of friendly behavior” scale was inversely associated with general health status, whereas the “hostile behavior” scale was positively linked to depression.HS patients experience significant stigmatization linked to disease duration, itch, and depression. Thailand is one of the most popular outbound destinations for Chinese tourists. However, the conspiracy theory about trafficking Chinese in Thailand has negatively affected the resilience of the Chinese outbound market after the COVID-19 pandemic. The issue of how beliefs in the conspiracy theory affect Chinese tourists' intention to visit Thailand is investigated in this study. An online survey with a valid sample of 452 Chinese was conducted in July and August 2023. The measurement model and structural model were tested via WarpPLS 8.0. The results of this study indicate that beliefs in the conspiracy theory arouse Chinese tourists' distrust towards Thailand and signify that tourism boycott is a form of negative political consumption. Furthermore, the respondents react differently to the conspiracy theory based on their age and past visit experience. This study highlights conspiracy beliefs as a psychological factor affecting tourist behaviour. It also suggests that relevant conspiracy theories overshadow tourism resilience in destinations. Queer individuals experience unique stressors related to their minority status, negatively impacting their mental health. One factor contributing to these disparities is exposure to minority stress, which involves social stressors related to minority status. Previous research has focused on the negative impacts of minority stress, with less attention to its impact on positive psychological functioning. This study explored the relationship between minority stress and psychological well-being among 270 queer individuals in German-speaking countries. Participants completed an online survey assessing minority stress and psychological well-being. Analyses of Covariance indicated that proximal factors of minority stress—such as self-stigma, concealment, and expectations of rejection—had a particularly negative impact on psychological well-being, but no effects could be found for gender and sexual orientation. Additionally, gender identity but not sexual orientation had a significant effect on minority stress, with non-binary and other gender identities reporting higher minority stress compared to females. Thematic analysis revealed concerns about survey inclusivity, gender identity challenges, and intersectionality of minority identities. Our findings emphasize the significant impact of minority stress on the psychological well-being of queer individuals, particularly non-binary people and those with diverse gender identities, while demonstrating the need for inclusive research methodologies, tailored interventions, and policies addressing the diverse experiences within the queer community. AbstractSexual identity fails to adhere to the dichotomous models, transcending to a more fluid quality than normative compulsory heterosexuality. The present study investigates the experience of bi-curiosity, focusing on its initiation among young women residing in urban India. Bi-curiosity, a sexual orientation questioning marked by exploratory experiences, is a possible but not a necessary precursor to bisexuality. This qualitative study explores on the psychological and social factors contributing to a bi-curious orientation. It focuses on the subjective processes of development and maintenance of sexual identity questioning. Three organizing themes emerged from the Reflective Thematic Analysis: (a.) Affective Indicators, (b.) Social Experiences, and (c.) Intimacy in friendships. While sexual identity questioning was propelled by more psychological factors, like physical attraction, fantasy, experienced jealousy toward men, and comfort with the same sex, social and environmental factors contribute significantly. Individual experiences with patriarchy, social attitudes toward same-sex relationships, and their representation on media platforms often reinforce the process. Another important contributor was women’s close friendships with the same sex, which are sites for physical closeness, emotional intimacy, and personal growth, and share these characteristics with romantic relationships. However, the extent to which self‐compassion contributes to reduced distress across different conditions or as a function of participant factors is not clear. The current meta‐analysis aimed to quantify the association between self‐compassion and psychological distress in different chronic illness populations and evaluate the factors that moderate this association.A systematic search of three electronic databases identified research reporting associations between self‐compassion and psychological distress in chronic illness. A random effects meta‐analysis was conducted to evaluate the association between self‐compassion and psychological distress. Moderator analyses were conducted for sample characteristics and distress types. A bespoke tool evaluated study quality.Searches yielded 51 eligible studies with 57 effect sizes. Meta‐analysis revealed that self‐compassion was negatively associated with psychological distress (r = −.516; 95% CIs [−.55, −.48]; p = .000). Moderator analyses were significant for distress type and chronic illness group, with effects being largest for stress and neurological conditions. Effects did not vary by sex, age or illness duration.Findings from this first comprehensive investigation of the link between self‐compassion and distress in chronic illness highlight the protective role of self‐compassion for chronic illness populations. These results lay the foundation for further research into understanding the processes that link self‐compassion to lower psychological distress, and that examine the effectiveness of self‐compassion interventions in chronic illness populations, to further advance knowledge and inform practice in this area. This explanatory sequential mixed methods study investigated the psychological effects of culturally-acceptable mourning clothes on the bereaved in the Ghanaian context. Different cultures have different funeral garbs that have strong psychological ramifications on the bereaved. These psychological effects have largely not been researched in Ghana. Therefore, the study assessed quantitative and qualitative data sets from descriptive surveys and descriptive phenomenology to identify the cultural norms inherent in mourning customs surrounding funeral clothes and their psychological effects on the bereaved. Also, data on coping strategies and mental health were gathered through quantitative surveys and psychological evaluations. The results show that cultural norms have significant psychological impacts on decisions on what to wear to mourn the dead. While some of the study participants enjoyed a sense of belonging and community, others faces stress-related peer pressure. To reduce negative psychological effects, coping techniques and support tactics were recommended. The research recommends educating people about the psychological effects of adhering to funeral clothing and cultural norms were described. This study contends that cultural influences and mourning customs including culturally-acceptable mourning clothes exert significant psychological effects on the bereaved and demand an informed decision-making and assistance for those who have experienced a loss. Background: Research on sport psychology suggests that athletes are at risk of developing dysfunctional eating attitudes and behaviors (DEAB), however the origins of these behaviors remain largely unexplored. The present study aims to identify factors (i.e., personality traits, anxiety levels, eating attitudes and behaviors, the internalization of sport thinness norms, and resilience) associated with the development of DEAB among female endurance athletes, in training and competition. Method: A longitudinal follow-up study was conducted among 14 elite female athletes who were tested daily, weekly, and quarterly over 12 months in 2022, for a total of 545 measures. Participants completed questionnaires assessing personality traits, anxiety levels, eating attitudes and behaviors, the internalization of sport thinness norms, and resilience. Descriptive statistics were calculated for all study data, and odds ratios were conducted to compare the variance of psychological factors and sporting factors depending on the level of DEAB and the sport period. Significance was set at p < 0.05. Results: Overall, 28% of our sample of athletes were identified with DEAB. Among those with DEAB, scores for agreeableness, anxiety, and competitive anxiety were significantly higher, while scores for resilience were significantly lower than those without DEAB. During the competitive season, scores for self-regulatory eating attitudes and the internalization of thinness norms were significantly higher than during the training period. Conclusion: Our results suggest a greater probability of DEAB among athletes who exhibit the trait of agreeableness, experience anxiety during competition, and lack resilience. The competitive season was also identified as a period conducive for developing DEAB compared with the training period. Based on these results our study suggests preventive measures that can be implemented with athletes displaying these traits, with a particular emphasis during the competitive phase. Objective: In severe cases of systemic sclerosis (SSc), autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (aHSCT) is superior compared to cyclophosphamide. But treatment related morbidity and mortality have to be considered. To date, data on major physical and psychological impacts of aHSCT are scarce. Therefore, subjectively experienced physical and psychological impact of aHSCT and exploration of internal and external factors helping to cope with aHSCT was assessed. Methods: Retrospective assessment of physical and psychological variables in an SSc cohort after aHSCT to describe: Health-related quality of life (HRQL), SSc-associated impairment, coping strategies, body image, and resilience. Additionally, semi-structured interviews were conducted and analyzed via mixed methods qualitative content analysis. Results: Thirty-two patients were included. HRQL correlated with impairment due to SSc and with depressive coping. An unfavorable body image correlated with reduced HRQL and increased impairment but improves after aHSCT. Patients with good resilience had a better HRQL, less depressive coping, and less SSc-associated impairment. The semi-structured interviews revealed that resilience is important for a successful disease management as patients with higher resilience were more satisfied with aHSCT, patients with lower resilience would have wished for more psychological support. Thirty-one patients would recommend aHSCT to other patients. Conclusion: A transient negative impact of aHSCT on mental well-being is present but can be relieved by a team specialized to aHSCT. Psychological support seems to be an unmet need, particularly in patients with low resilience. English articles published prior to September 18 2023 were searched from eight databases, including PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, the Chinese biomedical literature service system, the China National Knowledge Infrastructure, the Wanfang Database, and the Wipu Database. After screening the titles, abstracts, and full texts, six articles were finally included in the quality appraisal and metaaggregation.A total of 30 research findings were distilled and integrated into three themes: causes of fear of cancer recurrence (FCR); feelings of FCR; coping with FCR; and six subthemes: disease treatment factors; psychological factors; FCR is worry and fear; overcoming; negative response; positive response.FCR is a subjective feeling; it is influenced by the interplay between the external environment (adjuvant therapy) and internal environment (psychological factors). Therefore, future care measures should be designed comprehensively, considering the individual characteristics of breast cancer survivors and the external environment. Objective: Chronic low back pain (CLBP) is a prevalent health condition worldwide. Several therapeutic interventions aim to improve CLBP. Pain Neuroscience Education (PNE) helps patients better understand their pain from biological and physiological perspectives, which clinicians use to reduce pain and disability in patients with chronic musculoskeletal conditions. Neuromuscular exercises (NMS) are also treatments adopted in CLBP. This study will investigate whether PNE combined with an NMS program improves pain, functional and psychological outcomes more than NMS alone in patients with CLBP. Methods: In this single-blind randomized controlled trial, 60 patients (male and female; age range, 30–60 years) diagnosed with CLBP will be randomly assigned to one of the following groups: (1) PNE plus NMS (n = 30; 24 sessions of PNE plus NMS in a total of 8 weeks, 3 each week), and (2) NMS alone (n = 30; 24 sessions of NMS sessions in a total of 8 weeks, 3 each week). Outcome assessors will be blinded to the group allocation. The primary outcome will be pain. Secondary outcomes will be disability, fear-avoidance beliefs about work and physical activity, self-efficacy, exercise anxiety, and kinesiophobia. Outcomes will be assessed at baseline, after 8 weeks of intervention, and 6 months post-intervention. Discussion: The findings of this RCT will help shed light on new treatment strategies to address the biopsychosocial dimensions of CLBP. Employee innovative behaviour shapes the core competitiveness of an enterprise. Leadership style has been shown to influence employee innovative behaviour significantly. This research paper fills the gap by exploring the relationship between distributed leadership as an emerging leadership style and employee innovative behaviour along with psychological empowerment as mediator and organizational innovation climate as a moderator. 567 responses were collected from 29 different regions in China based on their availability through an adapted questionnaire. The data were analyzed using statistical software Mplus 6.0 and SPSS 19.0. The research results show that distributed leadership not only positively affects the innovative behaviour of employees but also has a positive impact on psychological empowerment and such empowerment positively influences employee innovative behaviour. The results also confirm that psychological empowerment mediates the relationship between the innovative behaviour of employees and distributed leadership. In addition, the organizational innovation climate moderates the relationship between psychological empowerment and the innovative behaviour of employees. The study not only contributed by confirming the moderating effect of organizational innovation climate on the relationship between psychological empowerment and employee innovative behaviour but also added directions for future researchers to explore more about the relationship between psychological empowerment and employee innovative behaviour along with theoretical research on enterprise leadership and management. Perinatal depression (PD) affects individuals during pregnancy and early parenthood, resembling major depression. Recent research highlights paternal perinatal depression (PPD) in fathers. PPD has adverse effects on fathers and their children. This study assesses the Turkish version of the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) for Turkish fathers, aiming to provide a tool for PPD identification. This methodological study validates the EPDS for Turkish fathers and explores associations with demographic and psychosocial factors. The study involved 295 fathers with infants aged 2 weeks to 12 months. The EPDS, originally designed for perinatal depression and validated in Turkish women, was used. Fathers completed a participant information questionnaire, the EPDS, and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) during clinic visits. Data on sociodemographic factors, paternal roles, and pregnancy and postpartum support were collected. Mothers also completed the EPDS. Descriptive statistics, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, and correlation tests were used. The study included fathers with an average age of 30.5 years, mostly with a high school education or higher. The EPDS had a mean total score of 3.1. Factor analysis suggested a three-factor structure for the EPDS in Turkish fathers, including anhedonia, anxiety, and depression. Confirmatory factor analysis validated the three-factor structure, with acceptable model fit indices. Positive correlations were found between fathers' EPDS scores, maternal EPDS scores, and paternal BDI scores. The EPDS effectively discriminated between different levels of depression severity. Various factors, such as education level and lack of support during pregnancy and after childbirth, were associated with higher EPDS scores. These findings emphasize the significance of assessing and addressing PPD in fathers, supporting the use of the EPDS as a valid tool in the Turkish context. The three-factor structure aligns with international research, highlighting the importance of a multi-dimensional approach to PPD assessment. Background: Psoriasis is associated with a high psychological burden and comorbidities, such as depression and anxiety. The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychopathological profile of patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis under systemic treatment and to explore the association between DLQI and alexithymia, depression, and other psychopathological disorders. Methods: In this monocentric, prospective clinical study, 104 adult patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis were evaluated according to the disease severity (measured by PASI) influence of psoriasis on their quality of life (measured by DLQI) and their psychopathological profile (measured by the BDI, TAS-20, and SCL-90 questionnaires). Results: The psoriasis patients exhibited high levels of psychopathological symptoms, particularly for depression, obsessive-compulsive behavior, somatization, interpersonal sensitivity, and anxiety. More than half of the psoriatic patients (56.7%) were diagnosed with minimal depression, 26.9% with mild depression, and 16.3% with moderate or severe depression. The symptoms of possible and confirmed alexithymia were present in 19.2% and 15.4% of the patients, respectively. The patients with alexithymia appeared to experience a more significant impact on their QoL. Specifically, the percentage of patients with alexithymia/possible alexithymia who had a DLQI of ≥2 was 77.8% vs. 51.5% in those without alexithymia. Conclusions: Our study illuminates the intricate connection between the disease severity and psychological components that impact the QoL of patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis. It is advised that clinicians adopt a comprehensive approach to managing psoriasis, which involves addressing both the physical symptoms of the condition and the psychological impact. Background Sexual interest/arousal disorder (SIAD) is one of the most common sexual problems for women. In clinical research, there are often misalignments between the research priorities of patients and researchers, which can negatively impact care, and gender-diverse individuals are often excluded from research. Inclusion of patient perspectives when establishing research priorities may help to reduce these gaps; however, the research priorities of couples coping with SIAD remain unclear. Aim Identify the research priorities of women and gender-diverse individuals with SIAD and their partners. Methods In an online survey, couples coping with SIAD provided consent and responded to an open-ended question asking them to list the top 3 things they think are important for researchers to focus on related to couples coping with low sexual desire. A team-based content analysis was conducted to identify themes and their frequency of endorsement. Outcomes An author-developed open-ended question. Results Analysis of 1279 responses (n  = 667 from women and gender-diverse individuals with SIAD, n =  612 from partners) resulted in our identification of 6 main themes: general causes, general treatment and coping, biophysiological, relationship, psychological, and environmental/contextual. Additionally, we identified 4 sub-themes within each of the latter 4 main themes: general, cause, treatment, and impact. For women and gender-diverse individuals with SIAD, their partners, and specifically gender-diverse participants, the 3 most endorsed themes were psychological general factors (24.3%, 21.2%, 24.3%; eg, stress and the link between SIAD and anxiety), relationship general factors (15.7%, 13.2%, 18.6%; eg, relationship length and communication on sexual desire), and biophysiological general factors (12.3%, 12.4%, 14.3%; eg, research on medications and hormones). Clinical Implications Clinical researchers should consider the research priorities of couples coping with SIAD to ensure their work aligns with the needs of the affected population. Strengths and Limitations This study is the first to identify the research priorities of both women and gender-diverse individuals with SIAD and their partners. Most participants identified as heterosexual, North American, and of middle to high socioeconomic status; results may not generalize. Responses were sometimes brief and/or vague; interpretation of these responses was therefore limited and may have required more contextual information. Conclusion Findings suggest that women and gender-diverse individuals with SIAD, their partners, and gender-diverse participants have similar research priorities that are consistent with a biopsychosocial approach to research. Background: Since the outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019, it has had a serious impact on people's physical and mental health. However, in our clinical work, we have found that the erectile function of coronavirus disease 2019 patients with neurological decline was often seriously affected. Objectives: To further explore the relationship between erectile dysfunction and neurological dysfunction caused by coronavirus disease 2019. Materials and methods: We conducted a survey from August 2022 to February 2023 at the First Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University and the Third People's Hospital of Linyi City. A total of 251 subjects with a history of coronavirus disease 2019 infection were included. Symptoms and changes in erectile function after the coronavirus disease 2019 infection were collected and assessed using the International Index of Erectile Function‐5 scale and several targeted questions. Results: In this study, we found that in patients infected with novel coronavirus, the proportion of erectile dysfunction was higher in those with neurological manifestations such as olfactory and taste impairment or psychological symptoms such as anxiety. Discussion: We found that neurological decline and psychological factors were independent and significant risk factors for erectile dysfunction caused by coronavirus disease 2019. Conclusion: Patients with neurological damage or psychiatric symptoms are more likely to have erectile dysfunction, suggesting that the 2019 novel coronavirus may affect erectile function by damaging nerves. Introduction: Limited data exists on psychological impacts of the COVID‐19 pandemic among people who use drugs (PWUD). This study aimed to determine the prevalence and correlates of severe psychological distress (PD) among PWUD in Montreal around the beginning of the pandemic. Methods: We conducted a rapid assessment study from May to December 2020 among PWUD recruited via a community‐based cohort of people who inject drugs in Montreal (Hepatitis C cohort [HEPCO], N = 128) and community organisations (N = 98). We analysed self‐reported data on changes in drug use behaviours and social determinants since the declaration of COVID‐19 as a public health emergency, and assessed past‐month PD using the Kessler K6 scale. Multivariable logistic regression was conducted to examine correlates of PD distress (score ≥13). Results: Of 226 survey participants, a quarter (n = 56) were screened positive for severe PD. In multivariable analyses, age (1‐year increment) (adjusted odds ratio = 0.94, 95% confidence interval [0.90, 0.98]) and a decrease in non‐injection drug use versus no change (0.26 [0.07, 0.92]) were protective against severe PD, while positive associations were found for any alcohol use in the past 6 months (3.73 [1.42, 9.78]), increased food insecurity (2.88 [1.19, 6.93]) and both moving around between neighbourhoods more (8.71 [2.63, 28.88]) and less (3.03 [1.18, 7.74]) often compared to no change. Discussion and Conclusions: This study documented a high prevalence of severe PD among PWUD during the COVID‐19 pandemic compared with pre‐COVID‐19 data. Social determinants such as food insecurity and mobility issues, alongside demographic and substance use‐related factors, were linked to distress. Objective: An extensive literature examines the prevalence of conspiracy theories and the factors that determine why some people believe them. Conspiracy theories are only one example of baseless beliefs, which we define as beliefs that are not epistemically warranted by the available evidence. The goals of this research were to determine if there are discrete domains of baseless beliefs and to identify the psychological and cognitive factors most closely associated with each type. Methods: We surveyed 435 U.S. adults about their baseless beliefs and measured an extensive set of cognitive, epistemological, and personal characteristics. Results: Four distinct domains of baseless belief were discovered, which we label conservative controversies, classic coverups, magical thoughts, and pseudoscience. The data suggest the confidence people have in these beliefs differs across domains and reveal clear differences in the cognitive, epistemological, and personality factors predicting belief in each domain. Conclusion: Baseless beliefs encompass a number of distinct domains, and the psychological dynamics underlying belief acquisition vary across these domains. This finding suggests caution in generalizing from studies examining only one domain. PRACTICE IMPACT STATEMENTPossession and distribution of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) is a serious criminal offence facilitated by online technologies. To prevent, investigate, and treat online CSAM offending, comprehensive knowledge of potential risk factors for these crimes is required. Given the large body of relevant research, a systematic overview of the risk factors typically considered in research and their link to (testable) theories is lacking. We present a review of 43 quantitative studies (sample sizes ranging from N = 60 to N = 14,804) identified from 56 meta-analyses, reviews, and book chapters on online CSAM offending. Risk factors were extracted and grouped into 12 categories and 75 subcategories via qualitative clustering. The most frequent categories were Criminal History, Socio-Demographics, and Social Relations, whereas genuine psychological constructs were rare. Comparing risk factors for online CSAM offending to those for general (sexual) offending, the need for more specific theories of online CSAM offending is discussed along with implications for future research.This review reports risk factors for online CSAM offending that have been researched in the psychological literature between 2011 and 2023, highlighting a lack of theory building and testing, as well as an overreliance on historic criminal behavior instead of psychological risk factors. As such, guidance on how to best prevent the continuation of online CSAM offending in clinical and forensic practice is limited. From this finding, requirements for future research into risk factors that may not only be more specific for online CSAM offending but are also more dynamic and psychologically relevant, as well as the development of CSAM-specific theories and risk assessment tools are derived. Previous studies suggest that the process of becoming desistant from crime is accompanied by a shift from criminal to law-abiding identity and by the development of self-efficacy for law-abiding behavior. Utilizing self-report measures and an Implicit Association Test we predicted that a) a stronger law-abiding relative to criminal identity and a stronger/weaker self-efficacy for law-abiding/criminal behavior will correlate with lower actuarial recidivism risk at T1 and b) will explain variance in desistance two to three years later at T2. Results from a probation offender sample (N = 325) largely confirmed cross-sectional associations at T1. Univariately, self-reported and latency-based measured identity for law-abiding relative to criminal behavior explained variance in (survival time until) recidivism at T2 as opposed to self-efficacy for law-abiding or criminal behavior. Multivariately, self-reported law-abiding relative to criminal identity explained variance in survival time until recidivism beyond actuarial recidivism risk at T2. Further analyses showed that actuarial recidivism risk increasingly overestimated the risk to reoffend as the strength of law-abiding relative to criminal identity increased. The findings indicate that the strength of law-abiding relative to criminal identity plays a role in persisting in or desisting from criminal behavior. Deployment to active conflict zones significantly affects military families, with spouses often experiencing heightened stress and mental health challenges. However, research on non‐US military spouses, particularly those of reserve soldiers, who may face unique stressors compared to active‐duty personnel, remains scarce. This study examined perceived stress profiles among Israeli spouses of reserve soldiers during the ongoing Israel‐Hamas War, and their associations with deployment stressors, mental health outcomes, and psychological protective factors. A volunteer sample of Israeli spouses of reserve soldiers (n = 293) responded to self‐report questionnaires in a cross‐sectional study. Using latent profile analysis of the ratings of perceived stress, three distinct profiles were identified: low (35.1%), moderate (43.5%), and high (21.3%). Higher levels of deployment stressors (e.g., fear of spouse getting physically injured) predicted membership in the moderate and high‐stress profiles, while better household management was associated with lower stress profiles. The high‐stress profile reported significantly greater symptoms of depression and anxiety compared to the low and moderate stress profiles. In contrast, the low‐stress profile exhibited higher levels of resilience, self‐compassion, and perceived social support. These findings highlight the variability in spouses' stress responses during wartime deployment and identify key factors associated with psychological adjustment. Results suggest that deployment‐related fears, household management abilities, and psychological resources are crucial in shaping stress profiles and mental health outcomes among military spouses. On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) announced that the COVID-19 epidemic was declared an international public health emergency. Since that time, the epidemic has had a significant impact on the psychological and behavioral adaptation of individuals worldwide. To explore the mediating role of self-control and the moderating role of negotiation fate in the relationship between cumulative ecological risk and adolescent internet addiction during the COVID-19 pandemic, cumulative ecological risk questionnaires were administered to 637 junior high school students, including the Self-Control scale, Negotiable Fate scale, and Internet Addiction scale. The results showed that (1) cumulative ecological risk was significantly positively correlated with internet addiction; (2) self-control mediated the relationship between cumulative work risk and internet addiction; and (3) both the direct effect of cumulative ecological risk on internet addiction and the first half of the indirect effect of affect self-control were moderated by negotiable fate. Adolescents of color are particularly poised to experience the mental health crisis partly due to the absence of a clear-cut solution that prepares them to cope with ethnic/racial discrimination. One resilience-promoting factor in minoritized adolescents' lives is cultural socialization (i.e., the beliefs, practices, and worldviews that youth receive about their ethnic/racial group's heritage, history, and values), but the role of cultural socialization in relation to adolescents' resilience in the face of ethnic/racial discrimination is sporadic with extant studies documenting mixed results. Prior studies are likely limited by their focus on cultural socialization from parents relative to school adults and the larger school context. Following ethnic/racial discrimination, school-based cultural socialization may reduce youth's anticipation of discrimination, trust in others from different ethnic/racial groups, and rejection sensitivity. To test our theories, the present study used two daily diaries: Study 1 followed 134 African American adolescents over a 14-day period (N diaries = 1,494), and Study 2 followed 159 Asian American and Latinx adolescents over a 30-day period (N diaries = 3,458). In both studies, on days when ethnic/racial discrimination occurred, adolescents reported greater negative affect. This daily effect of ethnic–racial discrimination on negative affect was exacerbated on days when adolescents received less school-based cultural socialization but weaker on days when adolescents received more school-based cultural socialization. The present studies underscore how school adults foster youth's resilience in the context of ethnic/racial adversity. Educational Impact and Implications Statement: Adolescents of color are reporting worse mental health than their White American peers, which may be attributable to ethnic/racial discrimination. Across two studies, we found that ethnic/racial discrimination was associated with greater negative affect and emotions among African American, Latinx, and Asian American youth. However, as our data suggested, school-based lessons acknowledging ethnically/racially underrepresented youth's cultural heritage, traditions, and holidays were sources of resilience among adolescents of color and are optimal opportunities to address the negative psychological impacts of ethnic/racial discrimination. Alarmist narratives about the flow of misinformation and its negative consequences have gained traction in recent years. If these fears are to some extent warranted, the scientific literature suggests that many of them are exaggerated. Why are people so worried about misinformation? In two pre-registered surveys conducted in the United Kingdom (N study_1 = 300, N study_2 = 300) and replicated in the United States (N study_1 = 302, N study_2 = 299), we investigated the psychological factors associated with perceived danger of misinformation and how it contributes to the popularity of alarmist narratives on misinformation. We find that the strongest, and most reliable, predictor of perceived danger of misinformation is the third-person effect (i.e. the perception that others are more vulnerable to misinformation than the self) and, in particular, the belief that "distant" others (as opposed to family and friends) are vulnerable to misinformation. The belief that societal problems have simple solutions and clear causes was consistently, but weakly, associated with perceived danger of online misinformation. Other factors, like negative attitudes toward new technologies and higher sensitivity to threats, were inconsistently, and weakly, associated with perceived danger of online misinformation. Finally, we found that participants who report being more worried about misinformation are more willing to like and share alarmist narratives on misinformation. However, DMHI impact is constrained by issues related to limited reach, poor adoption, implementation barriers, and insufficient long-term maintenance. Organized by the Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption, Implementation, and Maintenance (RE-AIM) framework, this paper surveys the current state of DMHIs, highlighting research and practice gaps as well as potential strategies to move the field forward. Similarly, we discuss the role that emerging technologies and changes in the profession will play in shaping DMHIs in years to come. Finally, concrete and actionable steps to advance equity in the DMHI field are provided, with an emphasis on strategies to increase the representativeness of marginalized populations in DMHI research, the inclusion of these groups in the design and testing of DMHIs, and how to improve the contextual and cultural fit of DMHIs. Objective: Excessive weight gain, obesity, or insufficient weight gain during pregnancy can adversely affect both the mother and her offspring. This study aims to investigate the relationship between pregnant women's self‐perception and beliefs and their body weight management during pregnancy. Methods: A cross‐sectional survey involving 350 pregnant women in Changsha City was conducted from July to September 2023. Instruments included a sociodemographic data sheet, protective motivation questionnaire for pregnancy body quality management, and scales measuring body image, anxiety, self‐efficacy, and social support. Univariate analysis and multiple linear regression were employed to identify factors influencing protective motivation for body quality management during pregnancy. Results: The average score of the protective motivation questionnaire was 124 (SD = 13.07), suggesting a need for enhanced weight management. Key factors influencing protective motivation included household income, cooperation with healthcare workers, sources of pregnancy information, midnight snacking habits, prepregnancy exercise, body image, and self‐efficacy (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The study highlights significant factors influencing pregnant women's motivation for body quality management. These include economic status, healthcare collaboration, information accessibility, lifestyle habits, and psychological factors. The findings underscore the need for healthcare professionals to integrate these factors into pregnancy care programs to improve body quality management. • Mayer–Rokitanski–Kuster–Hauser syndrome is a congenital aplasia of uterus and vagina. • It causes absolute infertility, determining psychological disorders. • Psychological evaluation is needed to plan a management strategy and support patients and partners. Mayer–Rokitanski–Kuster–Hauser (MRKH) syndrome consists of a congenital aplasia of the uterus and the upper part of the vagina. It is the most frequent congenital cause of absolute uterine factor infertility, determining psychological disorders due to infertility and reduced quality of sexual activity. Being the necessity of baseline and prolonged assessments, clinicians need evaluation parameters for the monitoring of patients to plan a suitable management strategy and for efficient support before and after interventions, such as neovagina and uterus transplantation. Research of the literature was performed in PubMed and SCOPUS by searching for the terms "Mayer-Rokitanski-Kuster-Hauser" AND "psychological disorders"; from the 60 articles obtained, only 35 articles regarding neovagina creation and uterus transplantation were considered for the present manuscript. Based on the literature, management of MRKH syndrome by neovagina creation, either surgically or not, can restore a satisfactory sexual life and to reduce stress, signs of mental disorder and depression and improve sexual activity and quality of life. A psychological assessment of candidates to UT and of their partners is necessary. Recipients had low levels of anxiety compared to the normal population at baseline but a transiently lowered physical quality of life 1 year after surgery; elevated anxiety scores are associated with childlessness in the long-term evaluation. Further research is necessary to develop suitable evaluation protocols and adequate supportive services, to improve the outcomes of patients who undergo neovagina creation and uterus transplantation. The impact of Event Scale – Revised (IES-R), a validated questionnaire, was applied, after surgery for PAS, to assess the psychological impact of PAS diagnosis and treatment. Fourteen cases of PAS were identified. The mean maternal age was 36.8 years. Approximately 86 % of cases had antenatal suspicion. The mean gestational age at delivery was 34 weeks. Of the 14 women, only 11 responded to the request to participate in the study (7 interviewed in person and 4 remotely). Four women had IES-R scores indicative of high risk of PTSD (IES-R>33 points), one had an intermediate risk (IES-R between 24–32 points), and 6 fell into the low-risk category. The mean score was 22.4 points. The analysis of IES-R results by clusters showed higher scores in the intrusion category, which relates to intrusive and unwanted thoughts, images and memories. Given the high morbidity and mortality described in women with PAS, the risk of PTSD should be acknowledged, motivating early intervention to prevent the development of severe and potentially chronic symptoms. Summary: Numerous investigations have studied relationships between satiation, satiety, or food intake and single factors like food composition and resting metabolic rate. However, a comprehensive framework connecting food, physiological, and psychological factors together has not previously been reported. As an exploratory study with a trained panel consisting of nine participants, the contributions of twenty‐eight variables (seven food, seven psychological, and fourteen physiological factors) to satiation, satiety, and food intake of a mid‐morning snack were investigated. Both human factors and foods had contributions to perceived satiation and satiety, but with large differences in loadings, especially for metabolic factors. Food factors, including nutrient and energy contents, were major determinants of food intake, with only small contributions from human factors. Investigating diverse factors together provides a comprehensive approach linking appetite to both food and human factors. While extensive research has focused on the impact of educational expectations on academic performance, limited studies have explored the behavioral implications of educational aspirations, which are often presumed to have a monotonically increasing motivational effect. Challenging this conventional view, we leverage recent developments in economic theory to explore the non-monotonic motivational effect of educational aspirations, introducing the concept of "aspiration failure." We propose a behavioral model that captures this motivational effect within a framework of decision-making under uncertainty, distinguishing between aspirations and expectations. Through regression analysis of data from the China Education Panel Survey (CEPS), we investigate how educational aspirations influence student effort and subsequent academic performance. Our findings reveal an overall positive and increasing motivational effect, after adjusting for multiple socioeconomic and psychological factors. Subgroup analysis indicates that low-achieving students with aspirations for a bachelor's degree demonstrate greater effort and achieve better outcomes compared with those aiming for a master's degree or higher, highlighting aspirational failure in the educational context. Consequently, we suggest that students can reach higher levels of behavioral motivation and academic success by adjusting their educational aspirations to more realistic levels instead of pursuing overly ambitious goals. Female offenders released from prison often face challenges within the community such as lack of employment, inconsistent attendance in substance use treatment, and complying with parole and probation conditions, which typically decreases their self-efficacy and motivation to refrain from reoffending. Despite this, much is still unknown of psychological factors that could impact female offenders' attitudes toward self-efficacy, such as mental illness symptoms, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and personality differences. Thus, this cross-sectional study explored whether mental illness symptoms, ACEs, and personality differences were associated with attitudes toward self-efficacy (N = 398). Results suggest that mental illness symptoms, ACEs, and neuroticism negatively associated with attitudes toward self-efficacy in contrast to extraversion and conscientiousness. Safety participation of construction workers, as a manifestation of organizational citizenship behaviors, is essential for overall workplace safety. Workers' safety participation may be influenced by both organizational and individual factors. For example, facing unfavorable organizational conditions such as job insecurity may restrain construction workers from safety participation, and individual capacity differs the preference for safety participation among workers. Moreover, the nature of their job is often stressful, which complicates the mechanisms through which safety participation is influenced. The current study set to examine the key barriers to safety participation of construction workers in project organizations and reveal the intermediate effect of stress and empathy on the influential mechanism. The empirical study collected over 500 sets of data from construction workers through a questionnaire survey. After reliability and validity tests, structural equation modeling (SEM) and multiple regression were applied to examine the interactions among organizational factors, stress, empathy, and safety participation. Findings of current study confirmed that (1) safety participation of construction workers was restrained due to emotional stress and emotional exhaustion; (2) the negative influence of several organizational factors on safety participation of workers were mediated by stress, namely, quantitative job insecurity–safety participation interactions mediated by emotional stress and both qualitative job insecurity–safety participation interactions and interpersonal conflict–safety participation interactions mediated by emotional stress and emotional exhaustion; and (3) the buffering effect of empathy on stress and safety participation was interestingly not confirmed by this study. Practical recommendations were proposed to manage occupational stress and address barriers to safety participation. This paper contributes to safety management in project organizations by highlighting the interplay among organizational, individual, and psychological factors and their impacts on safety participation from a stress perspective. Purpose: This study aims to examine the mediating effect of self-efficacy on the knowledge sharing and management accountant performance relationship. In addition, it also investigates the moderating effect of initiating structure leadership (IS-leadership style) on the relationship between self-efficacy and management accountant performance. In the literature, there is a reciprocal relationship between environmental, cognitive and personal factors, making self-efficacy unable to be maintained without environmental support, which in this research is captured through the construct of leadership style. Design/methodology/approach: This study uses a quantitative methodology with a self-administration survey. This research involved 100 management accountants in Indonesia. Regression Macro Process carried out data analysis. Findings: The findings of this study indicate that knowledge sharing in cognitive psychology encourages increased self-efficacy, which has an impact on improving management accountant performance. Self-efficacy mediates the effect of knowledge sharing on management accountant performance. The existence of induced environmental factors in the form of IS-leadership style has the potential to weaken the impact of self-efficacy on management accountant performance. Practical implications: This study provides recommendations to companies, especially the human resources division, to consider individual psychological factors in the recruitment process. Thus, companies can carry out preventive control to manage management accountant performance behavior. Originality/value: This study provides new empirical evidence for reducing the overlap between knowledge sharing and performance by applying personal, organizational and environmental factors simultaneously. Introduction: Interdisciplinary guidelines recommend preoperative psychological evaluation before metabolic and bariatric surgery (MBS). The Cleveland Clinic Behavioral Rating System (CCBRS) has been developed to evaluate the psychological state of individuals undergoing MBS. However, its predictive value concerning long-term weight loss and follow-up attendance has not been extensively studied. This study aims to assess the predictive value of the CCBRS regarding weight loss and follow-up attendance up to 5 years after MBS. Methods: In this cohort study (n = 1236), psychologists administered the CCBRS to each patient prior to MBS in addition to the standard psychosocial-behavioral screening. The CCBRS consists of nine psychological domains and is scored on a five-point Likert scale, from "poor" to "excellent." Linear mixed models and ordinal regression analysis were used to analyze the percentage total weight loss over time and follow-up attendance up to 5 years after surgery. Results: A total of 1086 patients underwent subsequent MBS. Significant differences in weight loss and follow-up attendance were observed between some CCBRS groups compared to the reference group "excellent." However, these differences were not consistent across all groups within any given domain. Conclusion: In this cohort, the predictive value of the CCBRS for weight loss and follow-up attendance up to 5 years after MBS was limited. It is important to consider certain limitations, such as considerable loss to follow-up. Eudaimonic well-being among athletes is a growing area of research, although systematic evaluations of the conceptualisation and measurement of eudaimonic well-being among athletes remain limited. Eudaimonic well-being has been defined in several ways but generally refers to positive human functioning encompassed by various psychological characteristics such as personal growth. The purposes of the study were to systematically review the conceptualisations and measurements of the eudaimonic well-being of athletes and to summarise the potential antecedents of eudaimonic well-being and the effects of interventions. A systematic review was conducted following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines. The Mixed Methods Appraisal Tool was used to assess the risk of bias. Electronic databases (e.g., APA PsycINFO, PubMed, Scopus, SPORTDiscuss, Web of Science, and Google Scholar) and manual searches during February 2022 identified 1866 potential articles published over about a half-century (1974–2022). After screening based on the inclusion (e.g., elite or non-elite athlete samples) and exclusion criteria (e.g., review studies), 38 articles constituting over 8,585 research participants satisfying eligibility criteria were included in the review. The results illustrated that more than half of the selected studies applied Ryff's model and Ryff's measurement of psychological well-being to investigate athletes' eudaimonic well-being. A variety of participant characteristics and psychological factors, including self-determined motivation, need satisfaction, and personality-related variables (e.g., self-compassion), were significantly associated with eudaimonic well-being among athletes. Lastly, mindfulness-related intervention programmes positively impacted the development of athletes' eudaimonic well-being. In recent years, trail running has gained popularity which has translated to an increase in the research conducted in this field. However, as little is known regarding how psychological factors facilitate or hinder trail running, in the present study we delved into perceived stress, which is a key variable on how individuals experienced the sport. Thus, this study aims to (1) to examine the antecedents of perceived stress by testing a model where trail runners' emotion regulation and negative self-talk were expected to predict their perceived stress, (2) provide evidence regarding the mediating effect of negative self-talk in the relationship between emotion regulation and perceived stress. A total of 142 trail runners (Mage = 36.11, SD = 7.33; 119 men, 23 women) with different experience completed an online questionnaire. Bootstrap methods were used to test a model where negative self-talk was expected to mediate in the relationship between emotion regulation and perceived stress. Results confirmed the hypothesised model and showed that the negative self-talk used by trail runners mediated in the negative relationship between emotion regulation and perceived stress. These findings are considered within the framework of athletes' psychological functioning, highlighting that improving emotion regulation may be particularly important to trail runners – individuals that face stressful events during their involvement in the sport. The novel role of negative self-talk shows a potential approach to manage trail runners' perceived stress. Objectives: To date, few studies have considered the influence of psychological factors on chronic prostatitis (PRO) models. Here, we aimed to refine a murine PRO model combining chemically induced prostatitis with psychological stress. Methods: A total of 40 mice were randomly divided into four groups: normal control (NC) group, PRO group, water avoidance stress (WAS) group, and PRO + WAS group. Ten mice were assigned to each group: five for cystometrograms (CMGs) and five for von Frey testing and histological analysis. PRO was induced through a prostatic injection of 10% paraformaldehyde. The WAS mice were placed on the middle platform for 1 h per day for 10 consecutive days. Results: The results of the von Frey test demonstrated that both WAS and PRO induced bladder hyperalgesia in mice, and the WAS + PRO group showed significant pelvic pain symptoms either. The CMG results suggested that the PRO group, the WAS group, and the PRO + WAS group all exhibited bladder overactivity, presented as a shortened micturition interval and decreased threshold pressure evoking bladder contraction. The symptoms of the PRO group and the PRO + WAS group were more severe than those of the WAS group. The tissue staining results indicated that WAS itself caused only mild prostatic inflammation but could significantly aggravate chemical‐induced prostatic inflammation, as well as the total number of mast cells and proportion of activated mast cells. Conclusions: Our refined murine PRO model could manifest persistent bladder overactivity, pelvic hyperalgesia and prostatic inflammation. This study investigated whether local Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) with a strong sense of power foster excessive investment compared with non-local CEOs to explore how the psychological impacts of power shape individual behaviour. This study observed a sample comprising 5460 firms from Chinese listed firms yearly between 2008 and 2020. This study found a strong association between local CEOs and excessive investment. The results of this study remain consistent after a series of robustness tests. Further analyses revealed that both CEO overconfidence and power are important factors shaping excessive investment. In conclusion, these findings revealed that local CEOs foster excessive investment owing to the psychological effects of sense of power. This study provides insights into the influence of the CEO's local status on corporate decision-making, which can be beneficial for policymakers, investors, and other stakeholders. Background: The health benefits associated with recreational running are challenged by the occurrence of running-related injuries (RRIs). Effective preventive measures require knowledge of sport injury etiology. Psychological factors such as perfectionism, mental toughness, and passion are believed to predispose to sports injury by influencing training behaviors, motivation to run, and suppression of feelings of fatigue and pain. Yet their association with RRIs are understudied. Hypothesis: Perfectionism, mental toughness, and passion predict an increased risk of RRIs in recreational runners. Study Design: Prospective cohort study. Level of Evidence: Level 3. Methods: A total of 143 recreational runners (age 34.9 ± 13.9 years, 37% women) with a response rate of 76.5% answered an online questionnaire about their characteristics, running behaviors, and psychological variables (perfectionism, mental toughness, and running passion) as well as a sports injury survey. Then, as a primary outcome, RRIs were recorded biweekly for 6 months. The incidence of injuries was expressed as RRI per 1000 hours of running. The association between predictive factors and RRIs was estimated using logistic regression. Results: The incidence of RRIs during follow-up was 5.16 per 1000 hours of running. The knee was the location injured most often (26.4%), followed by the foot (18.9%) and lower leg (13.2%). Higher obsessive passion (OP) for running (odds ratio [OR], 1.11; 95% CI, 1.04-1.20) and perfectionistic concerns (OR, 1.22; CI,1.05-1.41) were associated with a greater risk of RRIs, as were previous injury (OR, 2.49; CI,1.10-5.70), weekly running distance (OR,1.10; CI, 1.03-1.16), and both supinated (OR, 4.51; CI, 1.11-18.30) and pronated (OR, 3.55; CI, 1.29-9.80) foot type. Following a running schedule (OR, 0.24; CI, 0.09-0.66) was associated with a lower risk of RRIs. Conclusion: History of previous RRI, pronated and supinated foot type, weekly running distance, perfectionistic concerns, and OP increased RRI risk in recreational runners. Following a running schedule was a protective factor. Clinical Relevance: Multiple factors, including runners' psychological characteristics, predict RRIs.
