CHILDREN with autism spectrum disorders , *AUTISTIC children , *PSYCHOLOGICAL techniques , *SCHOOL environment , *TEACHING methods - Abstract
Psychology plays a crucial role in the inclusion of autistic children and adolescents in the school environment. Its contributions can sometimes include developing strategies to promote inclusion, providing emotional and educational support, as well as facilitating understanding of the specific needs of these students. Psychological approaches and techniques are seeking to create more accessible and adapted school environments, promoting inclusive education and respecting neurocognitive diversity. In this sense, the research sought to understand the role of psychology and its attributions in the school environment and how children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder are included, with a view to their mental health. Furthermore, we sought to understand the families to the diagnosis of ASD, as well as to investigate successful teaching methodologies in schools using literature. Through this literary research, it was possible to gather excerpts from previous research on the topic in question. The research methodology was qualitative in nature, where the study of the research was through a review of the literature of previous research carried out and which contemplates the aforementioned theme. GOVERNMENT policy , *LITERARY sources , *SOCIAL policy , *SOCIAL action , *PRIVATE security services - Abstract
The aim of this paper is to analyze the work of psychology professionals in the Unified Social Assistance System, emphasizing their insertion in the field of this public policy, as well as to demystify the psychologist's attributions in the day-to-day work with families and individuals in situations of vulnerability. The Unified Social Assistance System organizes the services of the Social Assistance Policy, and psychologists must be included in all levels of protection and services, obligatorily making up reference teams and having their work based on ethics and articulation with other public policies. In summary, the reflection in this paper contributes to improving the technical insertion of psychological practices in social assistance policy, as advocated by Resolution 17 of June 20, 2011, making psychologists an essential part of the actions in the Unified Social Assistance System. In turn, the methodology will be qualitative, searching literary sources for other studies that have already been demarcated and analyzed as similares cases in the theoretical-conceptual productions already developed in psychological science in the field of SUAS.

Communities have a strong role in protecting biodiversity. In addition to participation in restoration, a range of actions in the public or private sphere may support biodiversity. Despite this, there is a lack of clarity about what actions should be prioritized for behavior change campaigns. We developed and applied a method to prioritize community actions for biodiversity conservation that incorporates an expert‐based assessment of impact and a community‐informed measure of the likelihood of uptake. In stage 1, experts (
n = 143) completed a survey that quantified the relative impact of actions based on best–worst scaling of perceived impact. In stage 2, surveyed community members (n = 3200) ranked the likelihood of adopting actions based on the ease or difficulty of performing each action, and the opportunity for change based on the proportion of respondents not yet engaging in each behavior. Experts gave the following actions the highest ranking for impact: voting for the environment (first), participating in restoration in ecological priority areas (second), and purchasing and protecting remnant bushland (third). When considering the disciplinary background and institutional background of experts, voting and participating in restoration activities remained in the upper ranked options. However, there was some divergence between these groups. For example, reducing beef consumption was ranked third by university‐based experts but ranked 28th by experts based in state government. Overall, community members ranked the following behaviors as most likely to be adopted: following quarantine laws (first), reducing plastic use (second), and managing pets (third). Top likelihood ranking of actions was minimally affected by community characteristics (nature relatedness, gender, location). Integrating these findings, the action ranked most favorably for impact, likelihood, and opportunity was participating in restoration. Choosing actions for behavior change campaigns requires consideration of the entire social–ecological system—from social factors that enable or constrain adoption to the ecological impact of actions across relevant social and ecological contexts. JUNGIAN psychology , *FERMI'S paradox , *PUBLIC domain , *BORDER crossing , *TELESCOPES - Abstract
In 1960, Jung lamented psychology's limited impact on global fate. Although Fordham tried to reassure him that Jungians were promoting his work, Jung was looking from the other end of the telescope, seeing the need to rescue humanity from its one‐sidedness that would ultimately lead to nuclear conflict. Astronomical evidence, such as the Fermi paradox, echoes Jung's concerns about likely self‐destruction. Rather than promoting Jungian ideas to interested groups, the imperative lies in identifying crucial messages for global survival and engaging the public in them. Science provides some useful lessons because its concerted efforts over centuries led to the gradual integration of scientific thinking into the public psyche. These lessons suggest that, to cross the border from the Jungian to wider public domain, compromises are necessary, such as simplifying messages and making engagement enchanting and practical. Analytical psychology's task goes beyond one individual, group, or even generation, and a debate is needed to begin to form a consensus on the way ahead. Some initial suggestions are made for adopting terminology the public can relate to, focusing on the transcendent function as the main vehicle to overcome one‐sidedness and conflict, and using figures like Nelson Mandela to demonstrate practical application. - Abstract
The practice of a profession takes place in the context of the assignment of a set of legal competencies. Since its recognition as a regulated profession, clinical psychology has undergone a process of evolution and consolidation. The aim of this work was to review the legal competencies of clinical psychology in Spain. A non-systematic narrative review of legislation, jurisprudence and bibliography has been carried out. The results were grouped into: 1) Assessment, diagnosis and psychological treatment; 2) Issuance of reports; 3) Referral to services/programs, indication of admission and discharge, and request for testing; 4) University teaching; and 5) Legal responsibilities. Clinical psychologists are recognized as having legal capacity for a wide range of clinical, management, teaching and research activities. Some activities are limited in practice and others have no established legal framework for their performance. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In recent decades, two processes have been crucial for the development of psychotherapy regulation, which are interlinked and mutually reinforcing: efforts to legalise psychotherapy as an autonomous profession, and efforts to academise psychotherapy as an autonomous scientific discipline. While in Europe the European Association for Psychotherapy (EAP) plays a key role in efforts to legalise psychotherapy as an autonomous profession, the academisation of psychotherapy in the twentieth century started at postgraduate level, then, after the Bologna reform, at Masters and Doctoral level and, since 2005 also at undergraduate level, first in Austria and then in Slovenia and Germany. Based on brief descriptions of the regulation of psychotherapy in some European countries – Germany, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Malta and Croatia – it is pointed out that concern for equitable access to psychotherapy and its quality for those in need of such kind of help must be a key criterion and goal in efforts to regulate psychotherapy. The international comparison also shows that psychotherapy will survive but not flourish if it remains only in the hands of doctors and psychologists as a method or specialisation. This is a quantitative study, with a descriptive and correlational design, whose objective was to investigate the relationship between self-esteem and parenting styles, taking Brazilian solo mothers as the target audience. The sample consisted of 41 women-mothers in a single-parent context, the majority from Ceará. The research was published on social networks and participants responded online to the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire and the Sociodemographic Questionnaire. The results highlighted maternal overload, insufficient support network and the absence of the male father from the parental dynamics. Regarding parenting styles, the sample made greater use of the democratic style, however, the physical coercion dimension of the authoritarian style obtained a score higher than expected. Finally, the correlation test between the level of self-esteem and parental styles and dimensions indicated a positive and significant correlation only with the regulation dimension of the democratic style. Introduction. Mental health has historically been overlooked in public policies in Mexico, with up to 80% of people with mental health and substance-related disorders in Mexico lacking adequate care. Objective. To characterize the mental health provider (psychiatrists and psychologists) shortage in the Mexican public sector. Method. Descriptive study. Data from SINERHIAS (Ministry of Health of Mexico) up to the first half of 2023 were analyzed. Results. A total of 1,504 psychiatrists worked in the public sector (1.1 per 100,000 population). The Health Ministry (Secretaría de Salud; Spanish acronym SS) employed 55.9%, IMSS 25.9%, ISSSTE 7.2%, while 1.0% were affiliated to other public institutions. There were 8,668 psychologists in the public sector (6.9 per 100,000 population), of which the SS employed 78.9%, IMSS 6.3%, ISSSTE 2.4%, while 12.3% worked at other public institutions. Thirty-four per cent of psychiatrists were in Mexico City, while 21 states, accounting for 70% of the population, had one psychiatrist or fewer per 100,000 population. Hospital units employed 83.3% of psychiatrists. Discussion. Mexico has an insufficient number of mental health providers at public institutions, with disparities between states and most providers affiliated to hospital units. Conclusion. There is an acute mental health provider shortage in the Mexican public sector, together with limited resources for community mental health care, affecting the treatment of mental health and substance use disorders. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a wide range of organisations have started using teleworking, without previously evaluating its optimal conditions, both due to the situation of emergency as well as the lack of instruments. This study analyzes the internal structure and invariance by sex of a questionnaire that assesses personal, family, work and home conditions that influence teleworking. The elaboration of the questionnaire, denominated Perception of Conditions for Telework Questionnaire, was based on research and experience reports related to this field. It was validated on a sample of 1,165 Chilean public servants between the ages of 30 and 65, in which the majority of the subjects were female (85%). Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis were performed. Results indicate that the instrument achieves a robust factorial structure and a very high level of reliability (Cronbach's alpha of 0.96), with 32 items and 5 dimensions with significant and strong interrelationships, between 0.60 and 0.85, the invariance by sex presents significant differences between men and women. It is concluded that the instrument presents high reliability and validity, which allows its use in the measurement of relevant factors for the achievement of an adequate teleworking system. However, the difference between men and women should be reviewed, since the factors could be sensitive to cultural gender differences. Another limitation is that the study only carries out internal validation, lacking progress in the external validation of the construct. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Psychology as a field of knowledge receives an important problematization from the text What is Psychology? by the French philosopher Georges Canguilhem (1904-1995). His criticism is strengthened when we consider the concept of life explored by the author, that is, as something precarious and errant. Thus, an epistemic impasse in psychology is revealed: the fragility of apprehending the living as a creator of norms, given its essential precariousness. Psychology, by ignoring the understanding of life in these terms suggested by Canguilhem, turns the psychologist into an instrument at the service of the pathologization of the singular forms of existence. Based on a sociocultural psychology approach, we analyzed aspects of these experiences and their impact on the students' learning, emotions and socialization with peers. Five open-ended questionnaires were applied online over two semesters of face-to-face classes and a content analysis was conducted. We observed that students valued the face-to-face classes, felt happy, more focused on academics and content with their social life. However, they considered that online classes are advantageous because they allow them to save money and time in traveling to school. We thus concluded that in both modalities the students learned to recognize and highlight the advantages and inconveniences of each one. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A pandemia provocou cansaço, exaustão emocional, tristeza.
