The question of gender equality is increasingly being raised today and is present at all levels of society. The topicality of the issue on farms is particularly evident, due to the particular inheritance processes on farms, the clear division of labour, and intergenerational cooperation that characterise the agricultural sector. In this research, a multi-criteria model (DEX-SOCIAL) was developed to understand the broader aspect of rural sociology and the issue of women's status on the farm. The paper discusses the status of women on a farm and assesses their social and economic situation. The methodology includes an online questionnaire in which women in the Eastern and Western Cohesion Regions participated, as well as other farm members and owners. Subsequently, the questions were transformed for the requirements of the assessment model, which assessed the life prospects of women on farms in both the Eastern and Western Cohesion Regions who were aged both over and under 40 years (criteria for "young successor"). The results of the study show that there is a clear difference in the qualitative assessment of women's socio-economic position in relation to the East–West cohesion region. The social position of women does not differ according to age structure. The conclusions of the study also present broader applications of the results in the field of rural development and rural sociology. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

- Abstract
The aim of this study is to present the technological viability of sliced-dedusted straw as one of the alternative types of bedding material in broiler chicken production process. Results are based on the results from national research project supported and financed by Slovenian Agency for Agricul-tural Markets. The input data and results are based on the real case studies (two farms) from Slovenia. One of the farms represents the extensive and second one represents the intensive production type. In the course of this paper authors explain technological benefits from using sliced-dedusted straw as the alternative bedding material compared to wood shavings. The novelty of the research is in creating the assessment protocol which includes the ethological animal standards. Results show significant priori-ties which are shown through the injury reduction on animals at the end of the feeding period., Cilj ovog istraživanja je prezentirati tehnološku održivost rezane otprašene slame kao jednog od alternativnih tipova stelje u proizvodnom procesu brojlera. Rezultati su temeljeni na rezultatima nacionalnog istraživačkog projekta podržanog i financiranog od strane Slovenske agencije za poljoprivredna tržišta. Ulazni podaci i rezultati temeljeni su na dvije stvarne analize slučaja (dvije farme) iz Slovenije. Jedna od farmi predstavlja ekstenzivan, a druga predstavlja intenzivan tip proizvodnje. Kroz rad autori objašnjavaju tehnološke prednosti korištenja rezane otprašene slame kao alternativnog materijala za stelje u usporedbi s drvnom piljevinom. Novost ovog istraživanja je stvaranje protokola procjene koji uključuje etološke životinjske standarde. Rezultati pokazuju značajne prednosti koje su prikazane kroz smanjenje ozljeda na životinjama na kraju perioda hranidbe., Ziel dieser Untersuchung ist es, die technologische Einsetzbarkeit von geschnittenem, entstaubtem Stroh als eine der alternativen Arten von Einstreumaterial in der Masthähnchenproduktion darzustellen. Die Ergebnisse basieren auf den Ergebnissen eines nationalen Forschungsprojekts, das von der slowenischen Agentur für Agrarmärkte unterstützt und finanziert wurde. Die Eingangsdaten und Ergebnisse basieren auf realen Fallstudien (zwei Betriebe) aus Slowenien. Einer der Betriebe repräsentiert den extensiven u nd d er z weite d en i ntensiven P roduktionstyp. I m B eitrag e rläutern d ie A utoren d ie t echnischen Vorteile der Verwendung von geschnittenem, entstaubtem Stroh als alternatives Einstreumaterial im Vergleich zu Holzspänen. Die Neuheit dieser Untersuchung besteht in der Erstellung eines Bewertungsprotokolls, das die ethologischen Tierstandards einschließt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen signifikante Vorteile, die sich in der Verringerung von Verletzungen bei den Tieren am Ende des Mastzeitraums zeigen., El objetivo de esta investigación fue presentar la sustentabilidad tecnológica de la paja desempolvada cortada como una de las alternativas de tipo de cama en el proceso de producción de pollos broiler. Los resultados están basados en los resultados de un proyecto de investigación nacional apoyado y financiado por la Agencia de Mercados Agrícolas de Eslovenia. Los datos de entrada y los resultados están basados en dos estudios de casos reales (dos granjas) de Eslovenia. Una de las granjas representa un tipo de crianza extensiva y la otra un tipo intensivo. A través del artículo, los autores explican las ventajas tecnológicas del uso de la paja desempolvada como un material alternativo para la cama en comparación con el aserrín de madera. La novedad de esta investigación es la creación de un protocolo de evaluación que incluye estándares etológicos de los animales. Los resultados muestran beneficios significativos a través de la reducción de lesiones en los animales al final del período de alimentación., Lo scopo di questa ricerca è presentare la sostenibilità tecnologica della paglia tagliata e depolverizzata come uno dei materiali da lettiera alternativi nel processo di produzione e allevamento dei polli da carne. I risultati si basano sull’esito del progetto di ricerca nazionale sostenuto e finanziato dall'Agenzia slovena per i mercati agricoli. I dati di input e i risultati si basano su due casi di studio reali (due aziende agricole) della Slovenia, una rappresentativa del tipo di produzione agricola estensiva, l’altra del tipo di produzione agricola intensiva. In questo articolo gli autori spiegano i vantaggi tecnologici derivanti dall'utilizzo della paglia tagliata e depolverizzata come materiale da lettiera alternativo rispetto ai trucioli del legno. La novità della ricerca sta nella creazione d’un protocollo di valutazione che includa gli standard etologici animali. I risultati mostrano vantaggi significativi che si manifestano attraverso la riduzione delle lesioni sugli animali al termine del periodo di alimentazione.

This paper presents the system dynamics model of organic farming development in order to support decision making. The model seeks answers to strategic questions related to the level of organically utilized area, levels of production and crop selection in a long-term dynamic context. The model will be used for simulation of different policy scenarios for organic farming and their impact on economic and environmental parameters of organic production at an aggregate level. Using the model, several policy scenarios were performed.

Cilj prispevka je ugotavljanje rezultatov oziroma učinkov, ki jih je ukrep 112 (Pomoč mladim prevzemnikom kmetij) imel na izbrane agrarnoekonomske dejavnike kmetijskih gospodarstev na območju Slovenije. S tem namenom smo v prvem koraku razvili 28 modelov s pomočjo multiple regresije, ki smo jih v naslednjem koraku nadgradili z vključevanjem več skupin umetnih spremenljivk, ki opisujejo lastnosti kmetijskih gospodarstev in mladih prevzemnikov. Na podlagi razpoložljivih podatkov smo želeli ugotoviti, v kolikšnem obsegu je sodelovanje v ukrepu 112 izboljšalo agrarnoekonomske dejavnike kmetijskih gospodarstev, in na podlagi tega podati smernice pri načrtovanju skupne kmetijske politike (SKP) po letu 2020 za področje mladih prevzemnikov kmetijskih gospodarstev na območju Slovenije.

Food Geographical Indication (GI) are labels that guarantee consumers that this is an original food product of the highest quality whose origin is linked to a specific region. The aim of the study was to determine the current state of GI, i.e. the number and spatial distribution in the EU and to examine their relationship with the performance indicator of agriculture and tourism in the EU. At the time of writing the paper in the EU Geographical indications register, 1, 507 food products were recorded, which were unevenly distributed in the members of the Union. Most of them are in the southern Mediterranean member states, while their number is decreasing towards the north of Europe. The results of the paper reject the assumption of a positive correlation between the number of GIs and the performance of agriculture in the EU28. Indeed, the leading EU members in terms of agricultural output are also those with relatively few GIs. On the other hand, most GIs are found in EU member states with below-average developed agriculture but with an important role of tourism in their economy. The conclusion of the paper is that in most countries with less developed agriculture, GIs cannot significantly improve unfavourable macroeconomic agricultural indicators but have a multiplier contribution to the development of the tourist offer and tourism in general.

Proizvodnja i potrošnja mesa kunića na prostorima bivše države u odnosu na druga mesa nikada nije bila značajnija. Na kunićarstvo se gledalo prvenstveno kao na hobby proizvodnju, a potrošnja je bila prigodničarska ili se preporučala osobama s određenim oboljenjima ili poremećajima. Razlozi su mnogobrojni pri čemu su ograničenja najčešće na strani potrošača. Kod mnogih potrošača postoje predrasude i podsjećanja od toga da kunići nekima kućni ljubimci, druge asociraju na mačke, trećih je strah „mogućnosti njihovog parenja s glodavcima“ pa do toga „da se teže pripremaju za objed u odnosu na druga mesa“. Najrjeđe se kao ograničavajući faktor veće kupnje i potrošnje spominje cijena mesa. Takva situacija je i u Republici Sloveniji.

Ruralni prostor Europe doživljava značajne promjene pri čemu je najizraženiji proces depopulacije. Posljedica toga su promjene u strukturi djelatnosti pri čemu nestaju mnoga tradicijska zanimanja. Značajne promjene su i kod poljoprivrede koja je dugo bila glavna djelatnost ruralnog prostora. U okviru brojnih načina revitalizacije ruralnog prostora važna je uloga agroturizma, posebno u povećanju dohotka poljoprivrednika što omogućava zadržavanje stanovništva. Cilj rada je utvrditi stavove studenata diplomskih studija na Szent Istvan Sveučilištu u Gödöllu u Mađarskoj i Agronomskom fakultetu u Zagrebu o ulozi agroturizma u očuvanju ruralnog prostora. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 98 studenata i to 33 studenta u Gödöllu te 65 studenata u Zagrebu. Istraživanje je provedeno tijekom mjeseca travnja 2017. godine. U istraživanju se polazi od pretpostavke da studenti percipiraju agroturizam kao priliku u očuvanju ruralnog prostora te da ne postoje statistički značajne razlike među stavovima dviju skupina ispitanika. Većina ispitanih navodi da agroturizam omogućava razvoj ruralne ekonomije, povećava vrijednost postojeće poljoprivredne proizvodnje, doprinosi zadržavanju ljudi u ruralnom prostoru, obogaćuje ukupnu turističku djelatnost države te omogućuje stvaranje novih radnih mjesta. Također, njih 42% se u potpunosti slaže kako bi agroturizam trebalo poticati novčanim potporama od strane države te se u istom postotku slažu i s izjavom da se kroz agroturizam povećava konkurentnost poljoprivrednog gospodarstva te da poljoprivrednici lakše plasiraju svoje proizvode i usluge kroz agroturizam.

This study investigates the relationship between the quality of hospitality services and sustainable equestrian tourism development in Slovenia. The focus will be on the relations between equestrian tourism motivations, hospitality services quality, overall service quality, equestrian tourists’ satisfaction, and behavioral intentions. The target population was equestrian tourists who stayed in one of 30 tourism farms in Slovenia and used both accommodation and food and beverage services. Face-to-face surveys with convenience sampling were used for the data collection. The results show that equestrian tourism motivations are positively associated with both hospitality services quality and the overall service quality in equestrian tourism. Moreover, the overall service quality in equestrian tourism is positively related to equestrian tourists’ satisfaction, while equestrian tourists’ satisfaction is positively related to behavioral intentions. In addition, accommodation service quality and food and beverage service quality both mediate the association between equestrian tourism motivation and overall satisfaction. The study provides both theoretical and practical implications. For one thing, it fills the research gaps present in the literature. In addition, it gives practical guidelines to farmers and tourism practitioners regarding equestrian tourism development as one of the popular areas of sustainable tourism development in rural settings.

Hrvatska glavninu vanjskotrgovinske razmjene ostvaruje s državama Europske unije a od 2013. godine svojim članstvom postala je i formalni dio toga jedinstvenog tržišta. To je za domaću proizvodnju i tržište poljoprivredno – prehrambenih proizvoda donijelo određene promjene od kojih su najveći otvorenost domaćeg tržišta konkurenciji te olakšan pristup velikom europskom tržištu za hrvatske proizvode. Cilj rada je utvrditi promjene hrvatskih proizvođačkih cijena pšenice, kukuruza, šećerne repe, uljane repice i kravljeg mlijeka u odnosu na referentne cijene Europske unije u razdoblju od 2005. do 2015. godine. Istraživanje je pokazalo da nacionalne cijene odabranih poljoprivrednih proizvoda uglavnom prate trend referentnih cijena EU. Do 2020. godine predviđeno je povećanje domaćih cijena pšenice, kukuruza i kravljeg mlijeka ali smanjenje cijena šećerne repe i uljane repice. Navedene promjene će u značajnoj mjeri biti posljedica utjecaja referentnih cijena EU izuzev kod šećerne repe.

The paper presents the application possibility of "Effect size" and Cohen's-d index in the case of introduction of new milk products on the market. The field and online survey were used to establish the potential interest of finalconsumers for new functional food product of dairy company in Slovenia - milk with phytosterols additives. Two techniques possibilities of Cohen-d index were calculated manual and using the Cohen's-d calculator. Further, the application is focused on two main questions in survey regarding observed problem: 1) Would you buy milk with phytosterols additives, which scientifically proven lowers concentration of cholesterol in blood? 2) Would you pay for it at a higher price? The sample includes 419 surveys, 150 surveyswere conducted on field (control group) and 269 surveys were provided online (experimental group). The Cohenćs-d index (d) results show by using manual and Cohen's-d calculator for both groups "small" effect (d=0.35, i.e. d=0.34 ), and "zero or near zero" effect (d=0.15, i.e.= 0.15) when deciding to buy new milk product. U ovom radu prikazan je primjer mogućosti primjene “Utjecaja veličine” i Cohen-d indeksa u slučaju plasiranja novog mliječnog proizvoda na tržište. Terenska i online anketa korištene su za ocjenjivanje potencijalnog interesa potrošača za kupnju novog, funkcionalnog mliječnog proizvoda u Sloveniji - mlijeko s aditivom fitosterolom. Korišten je izračun za dvije vrste Cohen-d indeksa, ručno i pomoću Cohen’s-d kalkulatora na primjeru dvaju glavnih pitanja: 1) Zainteresirani ste za kupnju mlijeka s aditivom fitosterola, koji znanstveno dokazuje sniženje koncentracije kolesterola u krvi i 2) Spremni ste platiti za taj proizvod veću cijenu? Uzorak obuhvaća 419 anketa, od toga provedeno je 150 anketa na terenu (kontrolna skupina), dok je 269 anketa provedeno online (eksperimentalna skupina). Cohen-d indeks (d) rezultati prikazani su za dva prije spomenuta načina izračuna, “mali” učinak (d=0,35, odnosno d=0,34) i “nula ili blizu nule” učinak (d=0,15, odnosno = 0,15).

This study examined the multi-criteria assessment of four dairy products: "Pomursko mlejko" (Pomurje milk), "Lejko mleko" (light milk), "Fyto mleko" (Fyto milk) and "Posneto mleko v prahu" (dried milk). The research was executed by using a multi-criteria methodology, DEX, which was complemented by an econometric analysis for light milk to estimate the trends in production and consumption before analyzed dairy products were implemented on the market. DEXi computer program results indicated that all analyzed milk products were 'above average'. The econometric model was applied to examine changes in the demand for low-fat milk (light milk). Empirical results showed significant consumer response to the increase in the prices of low-fat milk demonstrating income elasticity (1,15 unit). Multikriterijski pristup ocjenjivanja mliječnih proizvoda u smislu upotrebe DEX bio je nadograđen ekonometrijskom analizom za ocjenjivanje proizvodnih i potrošačkih trendova prije negoli su analizirani proizvodi uvršteni u prodaju. Studija istražuje četiri različita mliječna proizvoda odnosno proizvodne alternative: “Pomursko mlejko”, “Lejko mleko”, “Fyto mleko” i “Posneto mleko v prahu”. Rezultati DEXi analize ukazuju na to da se svi analizirani mliječni proizvodi svrstavaju u kategoriju “iznadprosječni”. Istraživana je mogućnost poboljšanja situacije s mlijekom u prahu preko povećanja njegove distribucijske moći na tržištu, te je pri tome upotrijebljena “what-if‘” (“što-ako”) analiza. U zadnjoj fazi izgrađen je ekonometrijski model za ocjenjivanje promjena u strukturi potraživanja mlijeka s malim postotkom masnoće. Empirijski rezultati pokazali su veliku reakciju kupaca na promjene u cijenama te vrste mlijeka, s relativno visokim vrijednostima elastičnosti potraživanja (1,15 jedinice).

The attention of this paper is drawn to analyze the economic potential of involvement of farmers into the small-medium sized value-based food chain (VBFC). The survey represents a solid data basis from which econometric modelling approach was further developed. Empirical results reveal the positive economic viability on a general level this means more stable purchase price of raw milk for dairy farms, which are the part of value-based food chain. Results point at inelastic demand for milk and milk related products. Furthermore, there are some accompanying and underlying indirect social benefits, such as production of high-quality food products, more stable and constant demand for raw milk, steady payments and better social situation. The last one is especially important for the farms operating in less-favored mountain areas where the survey was actually conducted. Cilj rada je analizirati ekonomske koristi uključenosti poljoprivrednika u male i srednje velike prehrambene lance temeljene na vrijednosti proizvoda. Istraživanjem su prikupljeni podatci pomoću kojih je razvijen ekonometrijski model. Empirijski rezultati pokazuju pozitivne ekonomske koristi. Na općoj razini, to znači stabilniju otkupnu cijenu sirovog mlijeka za mliječne farme koje su dio prehrambenog lanca temeljenog na vrijednosti. Rezultati pokazuju neelastičnu potražnju za mlijekom i proučavanim mliječnim proizvodima. Nadalje, tu se pokazuju i neke društvene koristi, kao što je proizvodnja visokokvalitetnih prehrambenih proizvoda, stabilnija i postojana potražnja za sirovim mlijekom, što u konačnici poljoprivrednicima donosi stabilan prihod i bolju socijalnu situaciju. Posljednje je posebno važno za poljoprivredna gospodarstva u područjima s težim uvjetima gospodarenja gdje je istraživanje i provedeno.

Through the research, four different materials have been tested: two types of sawdust (one in bulk and second is packaged), straw in bulk and slice-dusted straw. During the survey the measuring and collecting the everyday observations to get the data about capacity of eliminated materials and time to clean the stalls were carried out. Results show different characteristics between the bedding materials. After the statistical analysis, the main conclusion of the paper going in the way to statistical significant correlation between characteristics of bedding material and weight of horses. Our predictions get in the way that findings in this paper can make a good contribution to economic analysis of using bedding material for (sport) horses.

U radu se istražuju stavovi studenata diplomskih studija Agronomskog fakulteta o mogućnostima i ograničenjima zapošljavanja nakon završetka studija. Istraživanje je provedeno sredinom 2015. godine na uzorku od 89 ispitanika. Veliki dio (93, 3%) ispitanika izjavio je da često razmišlja o zaposlenju nakon studija, dok ih istovremeno samo nešto više od petine i ima jasnu viziju o svojoj budućoj poslovnoj karijeri. Ispitanici su suglasni kako usvajanje znanja utječe na povećanje samopouzdanja i samouvjerenosti (86, 5%)te kako pronalazak posla najviše ovisi o vlastitim sposobnostima (68, 5%). Više od polovice ispitanika (59, 6%) nakon završenog studija htjelo bi raditi u javnom sektoru i to najviše u Ministarstvu poljoprivrede (12, 4%) te različitim poljoprivrednim agencijama (12, 4%). Razlog tome je još uvijek u Hrvatskoj veća stabilnost radnog mjesta i percepcija sigurnijeg prihoda u javnom nego u privatnom sektoru. Oko 78% ispitanika želi ostati živjeti i raditi u Hrvatskoj ali su spremni su zbog posla promijeniti mjesto življenja unutar Hrvatske (18%). Najveći dio ih očekuje da će se zaposliti unutar godine dana nakon završetka studija (60, 7%), a neki (5, 6%) imaju već osiguran posao nakon studija.

Since 2011 one of the new types of food chains has been often described in scientific literature. It is called value-based food chains (VBFC) and referred to as the food chains with added values. This paper discusses which are the indicators for identifying the added values and additionally unravels different social and economic interactions between actors among the supply chain, also recognized as the characteristics of VBFC.

In the literature the value based food chains express two main characteristics: business relationships among strategic partners interacting in the supply chain are based on a written set of values and food products are differentiated from similar food products (Stevenson, 2009). To verify the first part of the definition the analysis of two organic food chains were carried out. For the analysis of business relationships and food quality communication in the food chain two different methodological approaches were used. For collecting the input data semi-structured interviews of various stakeholders were performed. The results of the analyzed case studies show the characteristics of value based food chains could be broader and more complex if some additional perspectives were considered.

Ova empirijska analiza prikazuje osnovne trendove potražnje za govedinom, svinjetinom i mesom preradi u razdoblju od 2007. do 2012. godine, s posebnim osvrtom na 2007., 2010. i 2012. godinu. Istraživanje se temelji na primjeni Engelova zakona koji objašnjava ovisnost potražnje za hranom s obzirom na raspoloživi dohodak, dok ostale čimbenike pretpostavlja konstantnim – „ceteris paribus“. Rezultati ekonometrijskog modeliranja prikazuju procjene dohodovne elastičnosti potražnje za mesom. Njihove se vrijednosti kreću između 0, 1 i 0, 5, što pokazuje da je potražnja za mesom u Sloveniji dohodovno neelastična. Ipak, govedina, svinjetina i meso peradi pokazuju uobičajena obilježja tržišne robe tijekom cijelog analiziranog razdoblja.

Ekonomski i poljoprivredno razvijene države karakterizira razvijeno stočarstvo strukturom korištenja poljoprivrednih površina prilagođeno hranidbenim potrebama stoke. U radu se na osnovu promjena broja stoke i stočarske proizvodnje u razdoblju od 2000. do 2015. godine daje projekcija za 2016. godinu. U Hrvatskoj je u stočarstvu dominantno govedarstvo sa udjelom od 46,17% ukupnom broja uvjetnih grla, na drugom mjestu je svinjogojstvo (33,77%) dok se ostatak odnosi na kozarstvo, ovčarstvo i peradarstvo. I u količinskoj stočarskoj proizvodnji, u žitnim jedinicama, najvažnije je govedarstvo (37,59%), nešto manje svinjogojstvo (33,2) te je na trećem mjestu peradarstvo sa 25,42%. U vrijednosnoj strukturi govedarstvo je na prvom mjestu (49%), zatim svinjogojstvo (23,5%) te peradarstvo (19,7%). U 2016. godini očekuje se smanjenje broja stoke s izuzetkom koza i ovaca pri čemu će se, zbog porasta proizvodnje po jedinici, ukupna proizvodnja zadržati na razini iz 2015. godine. Očekivani i daljnji pad cijena poljoprivrednih proizvoda posljedično će imati nastavak pada vrijednosti poljoprivrednog outputa što će domaće stočare dovesti u još nepovoljniji ekonomski položaj., Economically and agriculturally developed countries are characterized by developed animal husbandry sector, evident in the agricultural land structure of use that is fulfilling all nutritional needs of livestock. This paper will make projections for 2016 based on the change in the number of livestock and livestock production observed in the period from 2000 to 2015. The dominant branch of animal husbandry in Croatia with a share of 46.17 % in the total number of livestock units is the breeding of cattle, pig breeding occupies the second place (33.77 %) while other branches include the breeding of goats, sheep and poultry. The breeding of cattle (37.59 %), followed by the breeding of pigs (33.2 %) and poultry (25.42 %) at the same time occupies the central place in the quantitative model of livestock production, expressed in grain units. Furthermore, the breeding of cattle occupies the first place (49 %), followed by the breeding of pigs(23.5 %) and poultry (19.7 %), in due value structure. We expect a reduction in the number of livestock, with the exception of goats and sheep, in 2016, caused by the increase in production per unit while maintaining the total production at the level achieved in 2015. The expected further reduction in price of agricultural products will consequently ensure a continuation of the decline of agricultural output value, what will in turn lead to even worse economic position of livestock breeders in Croatia., Gli stati con un’economia e un’agricoltura avanzate sono caratterizzati da una struttura zootecnica sviluppata di sfruttamento delle superfici agricole ai fini della soddisfazione delle esigenze alimentari del bestiame. Nello studio, in base al variare del numero dei capi di bestiame e della produzione zootecnica dal 2000 al 2015, si dà la proiezione per il 2016. In Croazia in ambito zootecnico domina l’allevamento bovino con il 46,17% del numero complessivo di capi da 500 kg, seguito dall’allevamento suino (33,77%), mentre il resto comprende l’allevamento di capre, pecore e pollame. Anche nella produzione zootecnica quantitativa, espressa in unità di frumento, prevale l’allevamento bovino (37,59%), seguito a ruota da quello suino (33,2%) e, al terzo posto, dalla pollicoltura (19,7%). Nel 2016 si attende una decrescita del numero di capi, ad eccezione delle capre e delle pecore, laddove, per la crescita della produzione per unità, la produzione complessiva resterà al livello del 2015. L’attesa e continua diminuzione dei prezzi dei prodotti agricoli determinerà il continuo calo del valore dell’output agricolo, il che porterà gli allevatori domestici in una posizione economica ancora più svantaggiosa., Los países con las economía y agricultura desarolladas tienen también la ganadería desarollada por la estructura del uso de los agros adaptados a las necesidades nutricionales del ganado. En este trabajo se hace proyección para el año 2016 basada en el cambio de los números del ganado y de la producción ganadera en el periodo de 2000 a 2015. En la ganadería de Croacia la ganadería bovina es prevalente con la proporción de 46,17% de unidades ganaderas en total, sigue ganadería porcina (33,77%) mientras el resto hacen la cría de las cabras, ovejas y de aves de coral. En la producción ganadera, la ganadería bovina es la más importante (37,59%), sigue la ganadería porcina (33,2%) y la cría de los aves de coral con 25,42%. En la estructura de valor la posición más alta tiene la ganadería bovina (49%), la sigue la ganadería porcina (23,5%) y la cría de aves de coral (19,7%). Se espera la reducción del numero de ganado en 2016, con la excepción de las cabras i ovejas, mientras la producción general estará al nivel del año 2015 por el aumento de la producción por UP (unidad productiva). La esperada caída en los precios tendrá como consecuencia la tendencia de la bajada de los valores de la producción agricola, lo que significa una posición desfavorable económica para los ganaderos croatas.

42. Spremljanje srčnega utripa z neinvazivno metodo merjenja pri športnih konjih in razvoj linearnega modela za izračun krmnega obroka

V okviru raziskave smo razvili način spremljanja srčnega utripa pri športnih konjih z uporabo neinvazivne metode merjenja. Srčni utrip smo spremljanji pri treh kastratih različnih starostnih skupin in pod različnimi psihofizičnimi obremenitvami. S tem smo ugotavljali vpliv vsakodnevnih stresnih situacij na povišanje srčnega utripa. V času izvajanja meritev je pri 10-letnem kastratu nastopila nepričakovana bolezen, ki nam je omogočila proučitev vpliva bolezni in telesne temperature na srčni utrip konja. S statistično obdelavo in predhodno pridobljenimi podatki smo analizirali odvisnost med srčnim utripom in telesno temperaturo konja. Z uporabo nove opreme Polar Equine RS800CX G3 smo spremljali srčni utrip konja v fazi fizične aktivnosti in ugotavljali odvisnost srčnega utripa od temperature zraka v času izvajanja treningov. Rezultati so bili v nasprotju z našimi pričakovanji, saj je bil srčni utrip višji v času treningov brez preskakovanja ovir, ki veljajo za manj naporne in manj stresno obremenjujoče. Vzporedno smo razvili linearni model za izračun krmnega obroka pri športnih konjih. Z nastavitvijo omejitev ciljne celice in spreminjajočih se celic smo s pomočjo Excelovega orodja Reševalec dobili rešitev zastavljenega problema. Stroški sestavljenega optimalnega krmnega obroka so bili največji pri krmnem obroku v času tekmovanj. Within the frame of this research a method of heart beat monitoring in sport horses by non-invasive method was developed. Heart rate was monitored in three castrates of different age groups and under different psycho-physical burdening. At the same time, influences of everyday stressful situations on the increased heart rate were followed up. At the time of monitoring, 10-year old castrate became ill, and this unpredicted illness enabled us to study influence of the illness and body temperature to the horse's heart rate. Correlation between heart rate and horse's body temperature were analysed by statistical data processing. Horse's heart rate in the phase of physical activity and corellations between the heart rate and air temperature at the time of trainings was monitored by the new equipment Polar Equine RS800 CX G3. Results were opposite the ones we expected, as the heart rate was higher at the time of trainings without hurdles, which were previously meant to be less demanding/burden and stressful. At the same time, linear model for calculation of fodder in sport horses was being developed. By Excel softer Rescuer and setting of limitations of aimed and variable cells, solution of the problem was found. Costs of the optimal fodder were the highest at the time of competition.

This paper presents the system dynamics of organic farming development in order to support decision making. the model seeks answers to strategic questions related to the level of organically utilized area, levels of production and crop selection in long-term dynamic context. The model will be used for simulation of different policy scenarious for organic farming and their imapct on economic and developmental parameters of organic production atan aggregate level. Using the model, several policy scenarios were performed. V prispevku je predstavljen model za simulacije razvoja ekološkega kmetijstva na osnovi metodologije sistemske dinamike. Metodologija sistemske dinamike je celoviti pristop za podporo dinamičnemu reševanju kompleksnih problemov, ki omogoča vpogled v posege s trajnostnimi posledicami. Model pri kreiranju razvojne politike išče odgovore na strateška vprašanja povezana z razvojem ekološkega kmetijstva in trga ekoloških pridelkov. Model se uporablja za simulacije različnih scenarijev razvojnih politik za ekološko kmetijstvo ter njihov vpliv na gospodarske in okoljske parametre ekološke pridelave na agregatni ravni. Z modelom smo analizirali več možnih strategij razvoja ekološkega kmetijstva.

44. THE EFFECTS OF VALUE BASED AGRO-FOOD CHAIN ON THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC SITUATION OF DAIRY FARMS IN MOUNTAIN REGIONS

The eligibility of production on dairy farms in mountain regions was analysed using empirical data on the effect of a value-based agro-food chain. The analysis focused on social and economic (i.e. socioeconomic) impacts. For this case study, we chose an agro-food chain in which the Planika Dairy plays a key role. Three different methodological approaches were used: i) econometric modelling, ii) multivariate matrix analysis and iii) constellation analysis. The results show that this agro-food chain has a positive economic impact on the dairy farms studied. In addition, a correlation exists between indirect socioeconomic impacts and well-developed relationships between the actors in the food chain, which are characterised by high levels of confidence and mutual trust. The empirical results obtained indicate the relevance of maintaining milk production in Slovenian mountain regions and the importance of preserving the value-based agro-food chain to ensure the dairy farms’ continued existence. The results of the econometric modelling show that dairy farms in the analysed value-based agro-food chain would experience a small decline in the Planika Dairy’s demand for milk, given an increase of one percent in the market price of consumption milk. A slightly higher decline in demand for milk (0.12%) would negatively affect farms that are not part of the value-based agro-food chain. The correlations between socioeconomic impacts were found through multivariate analysis, in which the ‘higher purchase price of milk’, ‘regular payment’ and ‘proximity collection point for milk’ are important factors in the existence of farms in mountain regions connected to the Planika Dairy. Constellation analysis revealed quite well developed communication about the quality of basic raw materials (i.e. milk) and dairy products, while the communication of values such as fair price, animal welfare, reduced use of pesticides and environmentally friendly farming does not exist or is lost along the chain. This study found that actors in the value-based agro-food chain analysed have forgotten the importance of communicating about values, which is a necessary element in the successful growth of value-based agro-food chains.

The aim of this paper is to assess the economic aspects of bedding materials for sport/recreational horses. Four materials are tested: sawdust in bulk, wood shavings, squared harvest straw, and slice-dusted straw. The process of collecting data for feasibility analysis is structured into two different trials. In Trial 1, daily observations are collected and measured to obtain data about the technical and cleaning characteristics of the four different bedding materials, and in Trial 2, the durability of the bedding materials is tested. From an economic (cost) standpoint, the most suitable bedding materials are squared harvest straw and slice-dusted straw. Unfavourable economic results are found for wood shavings and sawdust in bulk. However, the durability analysis shows wood shavings and slice-dusted straw to be the better options. Thus, the results indicate that some bedding types are better for durability reasons and others are better for economic reasons. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

First, we consider it helpful to give a short introduction into the topic of communication and share some reflections why this aspect is important to look at in the frame of the HealthyGrowth project. The general question is why communication is necessary and what the purpose of communication is. One aspect commonly mentioned concerns information as a means of marketing. As Karstberg (2015) notes: “Research shows that a significant barrier to consumers purchasing more organic foods is lack of information. This leads the relevant body of research to call for better communication around organic foods.” Zanoli and Naspetti (2002:652) expressed the need “to devise a better communication strategy” with a view to “informing consumers about the extra quality inherent in organic food” (Duffy et al. 2005:374). And Aertsens et al. (2011) add that consequently, “consumers’ lack of knowledge concerning organic food is an important factor slowing down growth”. So communication is of utmost importance when it comes to aspects of growth of the organic sector. However, ultimately communication is the basis of every human interaction. It is the process by which we create sense and meaning and built up relationships with each other. Communication is thus to be understood in its broadest sense, so that actually everything that carries meaning or conveys a message is to be understood as communication. 47. The 2014-2020 budgetary period of Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) and its impact on Hungarian agricultural reform

- Abstract
The new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) has been designed to shrink funds that Hungarian agricultural reform will inevitably face over the period 2014-2020. Direct payments are to be decreased by 18 per cent, while rural development funds are expected to diminish by 13.5 per cent. Although the EU cake will grow less, the CAP will grow to a greater extent,and the agricultural and rural development piece of cake, providing support for Hungarian agricultural reform, will get bigger. A very encouraging fact is that young farmers will benefit the most since two new elements will come into force in this period of reform; land-based direct payments topped up by an additional 25 per cent and the sub-programme for young farmers enabling them a more favourable position within the system. The new plan period will be much more flexible than the previous one with several key elements becoming optional, which could protect Hungarian interests much better than was the case in the last period of agricultural policy reform (2006-2013). Nova skupna kmetijska politika (SKP) je zasnovana tako, da se predvideva krčenje sredstev in Madžarska se bo znašla v neizogibnem položaju po uveljavljanju kmetijskih reform v novem programskem obdobju 2014-2020. Sredstva za neposredna plačila so se v tem obdobju zmanjšala za 18 odstotkov, medtem ko so se sredstva za razvoj podeželja po pričakovanjih zmanjšala za 13,5 odstotka. Kljub manjši EU "pogači" in manjšim SKP sredstvom, bo Madžarska dobila večji kos "pogače" za zagotavljanje podpore kmetijstvu in razvoju podeželja. Zelo vzpodbudno je dejstvo, da bodo dobili največjo podporo mladi kmetje, zaradi dveh novih elementov: i) sredstva za neposredna plačila se bodo povečala za 25 odstotkov in ii) uveljavljanje pod-programa za mlade, ki bi jim omogočal ugoden položaj v sistemu. Novo načrtovano obdobje je veliko bolj fleksibilno od prejšnjega, z nekaj ključnimi elementi in z veliko večjo možnostjo zaščite interesov Madžarske, kot je bilo to v zadnji fazi reforme Skupne kmetijske politike (2006-2013).

- Abstract
In the literature the value based food chains express two main characteristics: business relationships among strategic partners interacting in the supply chain are based on a written set of values and food products are differentiated from similar food products based on product attributes such as food quality, safety, and/or functionality along with environmental and social attributes (Stevenson, 2009). To verify the first part of the definition the analysis of two organic food chains where carried out. For the analysis of business relationships and food quality communication in the food chain two different methodological approaches were used. For collecting the input data a semi-structured interviews with various stakeholders were performed. The results of analyzed case studies are showing, that the characteristics of value based food chains could be broader and more complex if considering some additional perspectives.

Planika dairy has long history that dates back to 1957. The present structure of the company as a limited liability company (LLC) dates back to 1995, and was established by the Tolmin agricultural cooperative. The company’s raw material (milk) comes exclusively from 120-130 (from year to year) local mountain farms in the North and North-Western regions of Slovenia, especially the Tolmin, Kobarid, and Idrija regions.
