The lithium–sulfur (Li–S) battery system has attracted considerable attention due to its ultrahigh theoretical energy density and promising applications. However, with the increasing demands on S loading and electrolyte content, practical Li–S batteries still face several serious challenges, such as slow reaction kinetics at the cathode interface, unstable anode interface reactions, and undesirable crosstalk effects between the cathode and anode. Traditional electrolyte systems often struggle to address these challenges under practical conditions, thereby rendering it imperative to establish a new electrolyte system for practical Li–S batteries. This review first discusses the necessity of establishing a new electrolyte and propose specific parameter requirements, such as the electrolyte‐to‐sulfur mass ratio (Em/S). Subsequently, some electrolyte modification strategies proposed by researchers are summarized to address the different challenges associated with practical Li–S batteries. Finally, the combination of different strategies is reviewed, aiming to reveal more effective design approaches that simultaneously address multiple challenges, while providing guidance for establishing a new balanced electrolyte for practical Li–S batteries. This article promotes the development of new electrolytes for practical Li–S batteries and can act as a reference for the development of electrolytes for other secondary batteries. Abstract Background The relationship between metformin use and prostate cancer (PCa) risk has yet to be clear despite more than a decade of debate on this topic. Hence, we aimed to investigate the causal role of metformin in reducing PCa risk through an up-to-date comprehensive genome-wide analysis. Methods We employed validated instrument variables of metformin use derived from a prior high-quality study, including five potential targets (AMPK, GCG, GDF15, MCI and MG3). Mendelian randomization (MR) analysis was performed to harmonize genetically predicted metformin use and PCa phenotypes. PCa phenotypes were from two large genome-wide association studies (GWAS), the Prostate Cancer Association Group to Investigate Cancer-Associated Alterations in the Genome (PRACTICAL) and the FinnGen cohort. Seven methods were applied to generate MR results: the inverse variance weighted (IVW), IVW with multiplicative random effects, MR-Egger, MR-Egger (bootstrap), weighted median, simple mode and weighted mode. Strict sensitivity analysis was conducted to satisfy core assumptions of MR design. Results We enrolled 32 significant single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) that involved with metformin use. Nearly all targets yielded insignificant primary results (IVW with multiplicative random effects), except that AMPK target posed a positive effect on PCa risk from FinnGen cohort [odds ratio (OR): 6.09, 95% confidence interval (CI): 1.10-33.53, P value: 0.038]. The general effect of metformin use, comprising all 5 targets, also yielded negative results (random-effect meta-analysis with OR: 1.09, 95% CI: 0.76–1.58, P value: 0.637 for PRACTICAL; OR: 2.55, 95% CI: 0.58–11.16, P value: 0.215 for FinnGen). None of the sensitivity analyses provided support for a causal association between metformin use and PCa risk. Conclusion This up-to-date study did not support the protective role of metformin in reducing PCa risk, considering each target, overall effect, and sensitivity analysis. It is imperative to reflect on the presumed “almighty medicine” and ongoing phase III trials are anticipated to assess the anti-neoplasm effect of metformin.

End-to-end disparity estimation algorithms based on cost volume deployed in edge-end neural network accelerators have the problem of structural adaptation and need to ensure accuracy under the condition of adaptation operator. Therefore, this paper proposes a novel disparity calculation algorithm that uses low-rank approximation to approximately replace 3D convolution and transposed 3D convolution, WReLU to reduce data compression caused by the activation function, and unimodal cost volume filtering and a confidence estimation network to regularize cost volume. It alleviates the problem of disparity-matching cost distribution being far away from the true distribution and greatly reduces the computational complexity and number of parameters of the algorithm while improving accuracy. Experimental results show that compared with a typical disparity estimation network, the absolute error of the proposed algorithm is reduced by 38.3%, the three-pixel error is reduced to 1.41%, and the number of parameters is reduced by 67.3%. This research has four objectives, namely describing the e-module development process, creating e-modules that are valid for material experts and teaching material experts, creating emodules that are suitable and practical for teachers, and creating e-modules that are interesting to students. Using R&D methods and ADDIE models, as well as interviews, questionnaires, and documentation as data collection instruments, the product received a score of 85.93% from material experts and 98.43% from teaching material experts. In practicality, the product got a result of 90% from teachers. As for attractiveness, the product obtained 100% results from individual trials, 95.55% from small-scale trials, and 95.33% from large-scale trials. Thus, it can be concluded that the e-module of the material seeks the main idea in paragraphs for grade V elementary school students, which has been developed using the Canva Heyzine application and is valid, practical, and interesting to use when learning. Objective: This study aims to explore the training mode for brain death determination to ensure the quality of subsequent brain death determination. Methods: A four-skill and four-step (FFT) training model was adopted, which included a clinical neurological examination, an electroencephalogram (EEG) examination, a short-latency somatosensory evoked potential (SLSEP) examination, and a transcranial Doppler (TCD) examination. Each skill is divided into four steps: multimedia theory teaching, bedside demonstration, one-on-one real or dummy simulation training, and assessment. The authors analyzed the training results of 1,577 professional and technical personnel who participated in the FFT training model from 2013 to 2020 (25 sessions), including error rate analysis of the written examination, knowledge gap analysis, and influencing factors analysis. Results: The total error rates for all four written examination topics were < 5%, at 4.13% for SLSEP, 4.11% for EEG, 3.71% for TCD, and 3.65% for clinical evaluation. The knowledge gap analysis of the four-skill test papers suggested that the trainees had different knowledge gaps. Based on the univariate analysis and the multiple linear regression analysis, among the six factors, specialty categories, professional and technical titles, and hospital level were the independent influencing factors of answer errors (p < 0.01). Conclusion: The FFT model is suitable for brain death (BD) determination training in China; however, the authors should pay attention to the professional characteristics of participants, strengthen the knowledge gap training, and strive to narrow the difference in training quality. The performance of the most frequently used flood frequency probability distributions in South Africa (Log-Normal, Log Pearson3 and Generalised Extreme Value) were reviewed and all tend to perform poorly when lower exceedance probability frequency events are estimated, especially where outliers are present in the dataset. This can be attributed to the challenge when analysing very limited 'samples' of annual flood peak populations, which are an unknown. At present outliers are inadequately 'managed' by attempting to 'normalise' the flood peak dataset, which conceals the significance of the observed data. Thus, to adequately consider the outliers, this study was undertaken with the aim to improve the current statistical approach by developing a more stable and consistent methodology to estimate flood quantiles. The approach followed in the development of the new methodology, called IPZA, might be considered as unconventional, given that a multiple regression approach was used to accommodate the strongly skewed data, which are often associated with annual flood peak series. The main advantages of IPZA are consistency, the simplicity of application (only one set of frequency factors for every parameter, regardless of the skewness), the integrated handling of outliers and the use of conventional method of moments, thereby eliminating the need to adjust any moments. The performance of IPZA exceeded initial expectations. The results are more consistent and, by taking outliers into account, appear to be more sensible than existing probability distributions. It is recommended that IPZA should be used as a valuable addition to the existing set of decision-making tools for hydrologists/engineers performing flood frequency analyses. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Artificial intelligence (AI) is progressively influencing healthcare sectors, including pediatric neurology. This paper aims to investigate the potential and limitations of using ChatGPT, a large language model (LLM) developed by OpenAI, in an outpatient pediatric neurology clinic. The analysis focuses on the tool's capabilities in enhancing clinical efficiency, productivity, and patient education. This is an opinion-based exploration supplemented with practical examples. We assessed ChatGPT's utility in administrative and educational tasks such as drafting medical necessity letters and creating patient educational materials. ChatGPT showed efficacy in streamlining administrative work, particularly in drafting administrative letters and formulating personalized patient education materials. However, the model has limitations in performing higher-order tasks like formulating nuanced differential diagnoses. Additionally, ethical and legal concerns, including data privacy and the potential dissemination of misinformation, warrant cautious implementation. The integration of AI tools like ChatGPT in pediatric neurology clinics has demonstrated promising results in boosting efficiency and patient education, despite present limitations and ethical concerns. As technology advances, we anticipate future applications may extend to more complex clinical tasks like precise differential diagnoses and treatment strategy guidance. Thinking style is one thing that can help students in solving problems by knowing the students' own style. The style of thinking is not an ability but more towards how to use the existing abilities of each individual. Similarly, thinking skills can help students to solve problems and can make students smart in thinking about things. Thinking skills can be formulated as the process of using the mind to find a solution or understanding of something. Thinking skills also allow students to integrate each newly experienced experience into each individual's mind box. The aim of this study was to identify the thinking style patterns and the level of thinking skills between the demographic factors among technical students. The design of this study was descriptive and inferential with a quantitative approach. A total of 273 technical students from the Faculty of Technical and Vocational Education (FPTV) at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) were randomly selected as a sample. They consist of Building Construction (BBB), Catering (BBC), Welding and Metal Fabrication (BBD), Electrical and Electronics (BBE), Creative Multimedia (BBF) and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (BBG). A set of modified questionnaires from past studies were used as research instruments. Majority of technical students have a balanced thinking style and follow by critical and creative thinking style. Among the three types of skills, majority technical students have high level of practical thinking skills, followed by creative thinking skills and analytical thinking skills. It is hoped that this study can provide guidance to students, lecturers and institutions to improve teachers' teaching and learning methods and techniques based on students' thinking style and thinking skills. Purpose: This study aimed to derive a conceptual definition and attributes for nursing students' rights in clinical practice in South Korea. Methods: This concept-analysis study was conducted at a nursing school in South Korea. The participants were recruited using purposive sampling. The inclusion criteria were being a fourth-year nursing student and having two or more semesters of practical experience. The hybrid model used in this study had three stages. First, 12 studies were reviewed during the theoretical stage. Second, 10 in-depth interviews were conducted during the fieldwork stage. Third, in the analytical stage, the concept of nursing students' rights related to clinical practice was defined and the attributes were derived. Results: The analysis established five attributes of nursing students' rights: the right to learn, the right to be protected from infections and accidents, the right to be cared for and supported, the right to be respected, and the right to be recognized as a member of a nursing team. A key theme that emerged from this study was having the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment. Summary: The development of lightweight networks makes neural networks more efficient to be widely applied to various tasks. Considering the deployment of hardware like edge devices and mobile phones, we prioritize lightweight networks. However, their accuracy has always lagged far behind SOTA networks. In this article, we present a simple yet effective activation function, called WReLU, to improve the performance of lightweight networks significantly by adding a residual spatial condition. Moreover, we use a strategy to switch activation functions after determining which convolutional layer to use. We perform experiments on ImageNet 2012 classification dataset in CPU, GPU, and edge devices. Experiments demonstrate that WReLU improves the accuracy of classification significantly. Meanwhile, our strategy balances the effect of additional parameters and multiply accumulate. Our method improves the accuracy of SqueezeNet and SqueezeNext by more than 5% without increasing extensive parameters and computation. For the lightweight network with a large number of parameters, such as MobileNet and ShuffleNet, there is also a significant improvement. Additionally, the inference speed of most lightweight networks using our WReLU strategy is almost the same as the baseline model on different platforms. This article explores the sources of Islamic knowledge among young Muslim activists in Bima, Eastern Indonesia, who are often stereotyped as a hotbed of radicalism, and their religious types to reveal their intellectual dynamics. This article argues that, in modern times, as Islamic tendencies and orientations have diversified, young Muslims in the Bima region engage with many different aspects of the production and use of religious knowledge under the umbrella of Indonesian Islam. Moreover, they actively build peer-group-based intellectualism, fostering patron–client connections in the form of discussion and literacy development through student organizations, and this is influential in shaping their religious identities and religious types. This qualitative research involved 47 young Muslim activists, who are also senior high school and university students, 20 of whom were interviewed in-depth, while 27 others participated in focus group discussions. This research reveals that their sources of learning vary. However, the most critical media in shaping and confirming their religious understanding are the training and discussions held by their respective peer groups and organizations. Their literacy and references are also further developed through these forums. Learning resources accessed via social media are considered essential but unreliable in this digital era. Therefore, in their intellectual development, young persons need teachers and families to act as learning resource providers that co-exist with the literacy obtained through organizations. Such sources and ways of learning form a type of religiosity that is "practical" (embodied in daily practice) for most. Meanwhile, the "ideological" type of religion (fundamental to the Islamization movement) is only found in right-wing activists of Islamic organizations and does not thrive among the young people of Bima, Eastern Indonesia. This article delves into how purposeful research can cater to a diverse range of stakeholders – including older adults, caregivers, activity professionals, city councils, community developers, healthcare providers, policymakers, researchers, local communities, and societies at large. Noteworthily, the article furnishes guidelines that encompass a typology aimed at equipping researchers with the tools necessary for pinpointing practice gaps effectively. The article also outlines the ways for crafting meaningful, practical recommendations contingent on the intended beneficiaries and the types of research. A challenge in the pandemic era is to implement effective but flexible practical teaching for biological sciences courses. Such teaching needs to deliver conceptual, analytical and practical skills training while having the option to rapidly respond to health and safety issues, local regulations, staff and student concerns. In this paper, we describe a set of cell biology practicals (mini‐project) that meets many of these requirements and provides flexibility in providing skills training both through online and in practical laboratory environments. We have used a human adenocarcinoma cell line A431 stably transfected with a fluorescent cell cycle reporter as a biological model to deliver training through discrete work packages encompassing cell culture, fluorescence microscopy, biochemistry and statistics. How such work packages can be modified to, an online format either partially or completely is also described. Furthermore, the activities can be adapted for teaching both undergraduate and postgraduate level courses to ensure effective skills training which is applicable to a wide range of biological degree programs and levels of study. The discourse on preparing job-ready graduates has led to calls for more authentic methods of teaching and learning that allow higher education students to enhance their employability. The literature identifies authentic approaches to teaching as those that situate learning in contexts that correspond to the ‘real world’. However, little is known about whether, or how, students in Irish higher education view their learning as authentic. Drawing on Ireland’s national survey of student engagement, this paper examined the free text responses of 93,743 students over a five-year period when asked what their institutions could do to improve engagement in their learning. Using both an automatic content and manual analysis, it was found that the theme of ‘work’ was strongly represented in the data. Strongly connected to ‘work’ were the concepts ‘real world’, ‘real life’ and ‘group’ with students requesting learning that was relevant, practical, and job- or career-related. While group learning was seen in a positive light, students valued projects that were connected to the world of work. In contrast to the literature, these students don’t frame their narratives in terms of ‘authentic’ learning, rather they speak of learning that has real-world relevance. Abstract Nowadays, cloud computing provides easy access to a set of variable and configurable computing resources based on user demand through the network. Cloud computing services are available through common internet protocols and network standards. In addition to the unique benefits of cloud computing, insecure communication and attacks on cloud networks cannot be ignored. There are several techniques for dealing with network attacks. To this end, network anomaly detection systems are widely used as an effective countermeasure against network anomalies. The anomaly-based approach generally learns normal traffic patterns in various ways and identifies patterns of anomalies. Network anomaly detection systems have gained much attention in intelligently monitoring network traffic using machine learning methods. This paper presents an efficient model based on autoencoders for anomaly detection in cloud computing networks. The autoencoder learns a basic representation of the normal data and its reconstruction with minimum error. Therefore, the reconstruction error is used as an anomaly or classification metric. In addition, to detecting anomaly data from normal data, the classification of anomaly types has also been investigated. We have proposed a new approach by examining an autoencoder’s anomaly detection method based on data reconstruction error. Unlike the existing autoencoder-based anomaly detection techniques that consider the reconstruction error of all input features as a single value, we assume that the reconstruction error is a vector. This enables our model to use the reconstruction error of every input feature as an anomaly or classification metric. We further propose a multi-class classification structure to classify the anomalies. We use the CIDDS-001 dataset as a commonly accepted dataset in the literature. Our evaluations show that the performance of the proposed method has improved considerably compared to the existing ones in terms of accuracy, recall, false-positive rate, and F1-score metrics.

This article explores the creative work of Hryhorii Savych Skovoroda from the standpoint of the leading trends in contemporary philosophic thought: a communicative turn in philosophy, neo-Socratic dialogue, and ethics of discourse. Skovoroda’s philosophy is interpreted not only in line with the ‘know yourself’ principle as a method of cognition, but, first of all, within the Socratic dialogue dimension when the methods of maieutics and elentics are used for joint searching for truth and solving moral problems. Skovoroda did not reduce philosophy to life, but he raised life to philosophy; philosophy itself was his life and in the first place, it was the practical philosophy of dialogue. Socratic dialogue appears in the practices of communication with people, in particular in the wandering habitus of the thinker. Wandering is an important element of his philosophy, his life, and his habitus. The wandering nature of Skovoroda’s habitus takes his dialogues beyond epistemology bringing the dialogue into a practical, or rather moral and practical plane. As an educator, Skovoroda draws on the Ukrainian culture habitus and practices and transcends this habitus and thus elevating it to the habitus of reason. This paper asserts the idea of the need and necessity to develop and to practice the neo-Skovoroda’s dialogue as a component of the global trend of dialogic civilization development.

The benefits of the newer antidiabetic agents available for managing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) remain indisputable, but many patients will require insulin therapy in the disease course. Given the limited access to newer antidiabetic agents, insulin remains a standard treatment modality in T2DM in South Africa. Early, multifactorial intervention remains ideal, but glucose, blood pressure and cholesterol values remain above target in many countries. Barriers to achieving glucose control in South Africa include the healthcare provider's being unfamiliar with the practicalities of insulin administration, initiation and titration. To identify the effect of deep learning strategy on mathematics achievement and practical intelligence among secondary school students during the 2022/2023 academic year. In the research, the experimental research method with two groups (experimental and control) with a post-test were adopted. The research community is represented by the female students of the fifth scientific grade from the first Karkh Education Directorate. (61) female students were intentionally chosen, and they were divided into two groups: an experimental group (30) students who were taught according to the proposed strategy, and a control group (31) students who were taught according to the usual method. For the purpose of collecting data for the experiment, an achievement test was built, which is in its final form (25) test items and a practical intelligence test out of (20) test items of the objective type for both of them. Scalable processing of thin and robust solid-electrolyte (SE) separators is key for the commercialization of high-energy all-solid-state batteries (ASSBs). Herein, we report the preparation of Li _6 PS _5 Cl-based thin SE separators incorporating suitable binders for potential use in ASSBs by two scalable wet processing techniques: tape-casting with nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR) and calendering with carboxylated nitrile butadiene rubber (XNBR). By means of tensile testing and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, the influence of processing on the mechanical as well as the electrochemical properties of the resulting thin SE separators is investigated. A trade-off between the mechanical and electrochemical properties is observed, which is due to the inextricably linked microstructures (particle size, binder content and distribution, and porosity) induced by the two different processes. Thin SE separators prepared using the tape-casting method with the more well-distributed binder network demonstrate superior tensile mechanical properties compared to the ones prepared by the calendering method. The results provide insights into the processing-structure-property relationships of the thin SE separators, which will contribute to advancing the application of practical thin solid electrolytes in ASSBs.

Genome-wide association study-identified prostate cancer risk variants explain only a relatively small fraction of its familial relative risk, and the genes responsible for many of these identified associations remain unknown. To discover novel prostate cancer genetic loci and possible causal genes at previously identified risk loci, we performed a transcriptome-wide association study in 79,194 cases and 61,112 controls of European ancestry. Using data from the Genotype-Tissue Expression Project, we established genetic models to predict gene expression across the transcriptome for both prostate models and cross-tissue models and evaluated model performance using two independent datasets. We identified significant associations for 137 genes at P < 2.61 × 10-6, a Bonferroni-corrected threshold, including nine genes that remained significant at P < 2.61 × 10-6 after adjusting for all known prostate cancer risk variants in nearby regions. Of the 128 remaining associated genes, 94 have not yet been reported as potential target genes at known loci. We silenced 14 genes and many showed a consistent effect on viability and colony-forming efficiency in three cell lines. Our study provides substantial new information to advance our understanding of prostate cancer genetics and biology. SIGNIFICANCE: This study identifies novel prostate cancer genetic loci and possible causal genes, advancing our understanding of the molecular mechanisms that drive prostate cancer.

This research aims to develop an e-module assisted by Macromedia Flash 8 which is feasible (valid, practical, and effective) to be used in learning the rules of sins and cosines of trigonometry for high school students in class X. The research was conducted at SMAN 1 Pajangan, which is located in Guwosari, Pajangan, Bantul in the academic year 2021/2022. This research is a development research that uses the Brog and Gall method using 10 stages of research, namely: research and information collecting, planning, developing primary from product, premilinary field testing, main product revision, main field testing, operational product revision, operation field testing, final product revision, desimination and implementation. The main sample of the research was 30 students of class X MIPA 3. The data collection technique of this research used a questionnaire, namely a questionnaire for expert validation and a student response questionnaire to see the practicality of the e-module. The data analysis technique used is a qualitative analysis technique for compiling data reduction, while other analytical techniques are used in a qualitative descriptive manner to present data in the form of numbers and tables. The results of the research concluded that the e-module assisted by Macromedia Flash 8 was feasible because material experts and e-module experts stated that the module was valid with an average score of 4.35 and 4.65 with the criteria of "Very Good". Based on the students' responses, they stated that they were practical with a good response percentage of 83%, and based on the average student score above the KKM, the average score of 25 students was 72.5.
