ABSTRACT Purpose Background Method Keypoints The purpose of this paper was to explore interlocking questions relating to how we deal with drugs and medication in crisis residential mental health settings. In particular, it examines issues related to overly medical and simplistic explanations of the relationship between cannabis and psychosis, the positive effects of drugs, the effects of having standard rules for diverse groups of people and the concept of non‐abstinent recovery.I have used mental health and addiction services for 25 years and I have 6 years' experience as a peer worker, working with many people who use drugs.This is an opinion piece built around a first‐person narrative.Drugs can have positive effects and an appreciation and understanding of these effects is essential to understanding persistent drug use. Metal halide perovskites (MHPs) have excellent characteristics and present great potential in a broad range of applications such as solar cells, light‐emitting diodes, and photodetectors. However, the light stability of devices remains an unresolved issue and has received great research attention. Under light illumination, MHPs exhibit various anomalous phenomena, such as photoluminescence (PL) enhancement, defect curing, PL blinking, and phase segregation. These phenomena are commonly considered intimately correlated with the performance and stability of MHP devices. In recent years, significant efforts have been made experimentally and theoretically toward understanding the physical origins of these anomalous effects. However, most research focuses on negative effects while the positive effects are mostly ignored. Herein, the positive effects and the negative effects of light soaking in MHPs are systematically discussed with a classification of the correlated physical mechanisms by specifically focusing on variation occurring in timescale from second to hour, corresponding to the unique ionic–electronic interaction. This intends to provide a new insight into ion effects on excellent properties of perovskites, and deep physical understanding of charge‐carrier and ion dynamics in perovskite, and theoretical guidelines for the fabrication of high‐quality and stability perovskite‐based photovoltaic and photoelectric devices. Abstract Background Hazardous alcohol use is a leading risk factor for disability and death, yet observational studies have also reported reduced cardiovascular disease mortality among regular, low-level drinkers. Such findings are refuted by more recent research, yet have received significant media coverage. We aimed to explore: (1) how patients with cardiovascular diseases access health information about moderate drinking and cardiovascular health; (2) the perceived messages these sources convey, and (3) associations with own level of alcohol use. Methods We conducted a cross-sectional survey of patients in cardiology services at three hospitals in Sweden. The study outcome was hazardous alcohol use, assessed using the AUDIT-C questionnaire and defined as ≥ 3 in women and ≥ 4 in men. The exposure was accessing information sources suggesting that moderate alcohol consumption can be good for the heart, as opposed to accessing information that alcohol is bad for the heart. Health information sources were described using descriptive statistics. Gender, age and education were adjusted for in multiple logistic regression analyses. Results A total of 330 (66.3%) of 498 patients (mean age 70.5 years, 65% males) who had heard that drinking moderately can affect the heart described being exposed to reports that moderate alcohol use can be good for the heart, and 108 (21.7%) met criteria for hazardous alcohol use. Health information sources included newspapers (32.9%), television (29.2%), healthcare staff (13.4%), friends/family (11.8%), social media (8.9%) and websites (3.7%). Participants indicated that most reports (77.9%) conveyed mixed messages about the cardiovascular effects of moderate drinking. Exposure to reports of healthy heart effects, or mixed messages about the cardiovascular effects of alcohol, was associated with increased odds of hazardous alcohol use (OR = 1.67, 95%CI = 1.02–2.74). Conclusions This study suggests that many patients in cardiology care access health information about alcohol from media sources, which convey mixed messages about the cardiovascular effects of alcohol. Exposure to reports that moderate drinking has protective cardiovascular effects, or mixed messages about the cardiovascular effects of alcohol, was associated with increased odds of hazardous alcohol use. Findings highlight a need for clear and consistent messages about the health effects of alcohol.

This research deals with explaining the effects of politeness in Islam and shows that politeness is softness of speech and avoiding hatred towards someone in dealing with him. To avoid his evil and harm, without this behavior being approval of the wrongdoing he is doing. He explains that politeness is of such an important value that the Islamic religion urges its followers to deal kindly and respectfully with others, and to show care, attention and good morals in their behavior towards them, with the aim of strengthening social and individual relationships positively. As a result, politeness contributes to creating a tolerant and cooperative environment and reducing tensions and conflicts. The research concludes with a proposal to apply the values of politeness in all aspects of life to promote cooperation and tolerance and build a more prosperous and cooperative society. We describe numerous negative consequences of this behavior and related problems in personal and interpersonal functioning. Follows a methodological and substantive analysis of eight often cited studies which are said to confirm the positive effects of pornography. The results of the analysis show that only one study, which summarizes the opinions and behavior of a part of the younger, self--selected student population, fits this description, while most of the other studies confirm the opposite effects. The results are interpreted in the light of understanding the internet pornography use as a process that begins with accepting deceptive presentation of sexuality and often ends with addiction.

It is a commonly experienced fact that teaching English as a foreign language in rural areas is challenging for language teachers around the world. This study explored the actual challenges that teachers of English faced at rural state schools before and during COVID-19. To find out the regarding problems, an open-ended questionnaire was administered to 46 participants working at public schools as teachers of English in different regions of Türkiye. Additionally, to have a deeper understanding of the challenges that teachers of English faced during COVID-19 period, the reports from the focused group discussions were analyzed using content analysis. The discussions were held by 29 teachers of English working in the same rural district. The results revealed that teachers had some common difficulties deriving from school facilities, poor infrastructure, inadequate technology, instructional materials, students' language levels, attitudes towards language learning and teacher competencies. The study also shed light on the positive impacts of the online education on teaching English as a foreign language in rural areas during COVID-19 pandemic in relation with the technological challenges and its effect on decreasing the urban-rural divide. In accordance with new research released by the World Health Organization (WHO) today, infertility affects a significant fraction of the world's population. There is an urgent need to enhance access to high-quality fertility care, as 17.5% of adults (1 in 6) globally struggle with infertility. The goal of this inquiry was to examine the positive effects of almond seed powder found in the al-Baha area in raising the level of fertility in subfertility rats. Caged animals were used for the experiment in this investigation. The rats were housed in groups of six and fed a baseline diet for a week before the experiment was conducted. As a control, the first group of rats, designated as C-ve, received nothing more than the standard diet for the entire period of twenty-eight days. Cadmium chloride (CdCl2) was administered to the remaining rats (n=24). One group was diagnosed with the sickness and disease in addition was not provided the trial diet, while the other three groups were fed varied quantities of almond seed (5%, 10%, 15%). Group 3 (almond seeds at a concentration of 5 percent) fared better in terms of testosterone hormone treatment compared to the control group (+). Group 5 (15% almond seeds) also had the most successful outcome in lowering FSH levels. D almond seeds are indicated for those who are experiencing infertility issues. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Gender-specific caffeine-related adverse effects should be thoroughly investigated. Sixty-five adult participants were included in the study, 30 men and 35 women (age, 22.5 ± 2.8; body weight, 71.7 ± 16.2 kg; BMI, 23.6 ± 4.4). The participants who were classified as low and moderate caffeine users received 3 mg/kg, and high caffeine users received 6 mg/kg of caffeine in one dose. One hour after ingestion of caffeine and within twenty-four hours, the participants completed a side effect questionnaire. Effects after the ingestion of CAF were divided into two subgroups: negative (muscle soreness, increased urine output, tachycardia and palpitations, anxiety or nervousness, headache, gastrointestinal problems, and insomnia) and positive (perception improvement; increased vigor/activeness). Caffeine ingestion resulted in a statistically significant association between gender and negative effects one hour after ingestion (p = 0.049). Gender and positive effects one hour after ingestion (p = 0.005), and between gender and positive effects within 24 h after ingestion (p = 0.047). There were significant associations between gender and perception improvement (p = 0.032) and gender and increased vigor/activeness (p = 0.009) one hour after ingestion. Nearly 30% of men and 54% of women reported negative effects. At the same time, 20% of women and more than 50% of men reported positive effects. Through extensive research, humans have discovered that the best way to achieve good health is by reconnecting with nature. Plants, which surround us, not only fulfill our physical needs for food and medicine but also our spiritual needs. Living in harmony with nature allows us to appreciate its beauty, including the awe-inspiring flowers, trees, and forests that invigorate our souls. Furthermore, the natural environment can have a religious significance, with Islam being a perfect and universal religion that offers a clear life program for the world. The holy book of Islam, the Quran, states that "TABAIENA LEKOLE SHAY IN" encapsulates this program succinctly. The importance of plants in human life cannot be overstated, as they have special effects on our lives in various ways, including helping us comprehend our intellectual relationships with nature. However, while the Quran contains numerous references to plants, there has been little systematic study on their use in human life. During the time being, while everybody else is busy conversing about the adverse effects of COVID‐19, researchers solemnly look forward to intensifying the positive effects of COVID‐19 on political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and ethical (PESTEL) aspects, as it was unrevealed. The FGD (Focus Group Discussion) and Delphi methods were conducted from April 2020 to January 2021 through the online platform to collect the data. In this research, 40 graduates from 40 families were taken as our sample size who carried out the opinions of their family members. The average duration of the interview was 30–40 min. This article highlighted that COVID‐19 has some positive effects on social‐psychological aspects (PESTEL) and, people are trying to adapt to new practices (New Normal) to improve their lifestyles against the deadly virus. COVID‐19 would pass, but life will never be the same; thus, researchers conduct the research based on a country, which may not be similar to the other cultures and countries' perceptions. This is the first and foremost study on the positive effects of covid‐19 and a guideline to cope with any pandemic in the near future. Simple Summary: Nectar robbers frequently have direct or indirect negative effects on plant reproductive success. However, nectar robbers can also indirectly contribute to the reproductive success of plants in some cases. The negative effects of nectar robbing on plant reproductive success have been widely reported, but the reasons for possible positive effects demand further investigation. Hence, our study was designed to assess the effects of nectar robbers on the reproductive success of Delphinium caeruleum. This will facilitate an understanding of the mutualism between plants and their visitors. Nectar-robbing insects, which are frequently described as cheaters in plant–pollinator mutualisms, may affect plant reproductive fitness by obtaining nectar rewards without providing pollination services. The negative effects of nectar robbing on plant reproductive success have been widely reported, but the reasons for possible positive effects demand further investigation. The goal of the study was to evaluate the effects of nectar robbing on the reproductive success of Delphinium caeruleum. Two staminodes cover the stamens and pistils in the flowers of D. caeruleum, forming a "double door" type of structure that compels pollinators to physically manipulate the staminodes to access the sex organs. In order to explore whether the operative strength required to open the staminodes is affected by actions associated with nectar robbing, we set up five different treatment groups: no nectar robbing, natural nectar robbing, artificial nectar robbing, hole making, and nectar removal. A biological tension sensor was used to measure the operative strength required to open the staminodes in the flowers. We also assessed the effect of nectar robbing on the flower-visiting behavior of pollinators and the effect of nectar robbing on reproductive fitness by the flower. The results showed that the operative strength needed to open staminodes was reduced by nectar robbers but not by artificial nectar robbing, hole making, or nectar removal. The flowers' continuous visitation rate and visitation frequency by pollinators decreased significantly in robbed flowers. Both the pollen export and pollen deposition in naturally robbed flowers were significantly higher than those in nonrobbed flowers. Our results demonstrate that nectar robbers play an indirect positive role in the reproductive fitness of D. caeruleum flowers by reducing the operative strength of staminodes to promote pollen transfer. This article presents the experiences and results of different companies which confirm the topicality and necessity of this trend. From this perspective, this article comes with the presentation of certain results of the effects obtained from the implementation of changes in the work program. In addition, concepts such as flexible working hours, the compressed working week or the reduction of standard working hours to 30 hours per week have become increasingly popular among millennial1 employees, being even tested by some large companies in the USA and developed EU countries.

Seven studies including both quantitative and qualitative studies were analyzed. The results showed that well-being was not related to exercise adherence as strongly as expected. In some cases, well-being was even negatively associated with exercise adherence. Limited sample size, insensitive measurement of exercise adherence, gender, and mental and physical condition of children and adolescents might partially influence the relationship between well-being and exercise studies. However, the studies at hand are still in their infancy. The short-term positive effects of intermittent fasting during the month of Ramadan on rheumatic inflammatory diseases have been previously evaluated. The objective of this study was to assess the sustainability of these effects on rheumatoid arthritis (RA) activity. This prospective study included 35 patients with RA, who observed fasting during Ramadan 2019. The disease activity was assessed and compared between three time points: T1 (6 months before the beginning of Ramadan), T2 (during the month between the 7th day of fasting and the 7th day after Ramadan), and T3 (averagely 3.4 months after fasting). The disease activity score 28 (DAS28) was used to evaluate the disease activity. After a significant decrease of all disease activity parameters between T1 and T2, a gradual increase of clinical and biological outcomes was seen between T2 and T3. Except for CRP, which was significantly higher at T3 (p = 0.02), the changes of the other disease activity parameters were not statistically significant. By reference to baseline data (T1), the decrease of ESR, DAS28 CRP, and DAS28 ESR induced after Ramadan fast was maintained until T3, with statistically significant differences. We can therefore conclude that this study has been conducted at the beginning of the fading-out of the effects of Ramadan fast, and that the duration of 3 months may be the recommended interval between fasting periods to maintain the positive effects of intermittent fasting on RA activity. Introduction: Although simultaneous polysubstance use (SPU) has been associated with more drug-related negative consequences than concurrent polysubstance use, most studies on polysubstance use, perceived effects, and harm reduction strategies employed have done so considering concurrent polysubstance use. Aim: To determine the SPU pattern from the report of the substances used simultaneously, and to examine the perceived positive and negative effects and the harm reduction strategies employed in assistants to electronic dance music parties with different SPU patterns. Methods: 214 polysubstance users and assistants to electronic dance music parties (55.1% men, between 18-59 years old) completed a questionnaire that assessed substance use, positive and negative effects experienced and harm reduction strategies employed. Results: >30 SPU patterns were identified that differed quantitatively and qualitatively. In total, 8, 7 and 5 categories for positive and negative effects and harm reduction strategies, respectively, were identified. Some of the reported effects and strategies were more prevalent in specific SPU patterns. Discussion: it is important to delve into the reported and unreported harm reduction strategies in order to design specific and appropriate harm reduction and preventive campaigns for assistants to electronic dance music parties with different SPU patterns. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of using role-play techniques for speaking skills in learning English at a university campus in the south of Vietnam. A descriptive mixed-method approach was administered in this research. It is designed to analyze (1) the common reasons students like to use the roleplay techniques and (2) some positive effects of this method in enhancing EFL (English as a foreign language) students' conversational ability. The participants of this study were 32 students majoring in English Studies. The research was conducted with different instruments including a questionnaire and interviews to collect qualitative and quantitative research data. The findings indicated that there were a variety of reasons and prominent effects of using role-play techniques as the main factor influencing learners' speaking proficiency. Applying this method could positively impact the development of students' speaking achievement in the process of learning English. The study proved that role-play is one of the effective methods to enhance EFL learners' speaking ability in the research context. The study would help teachers find a suitable strategy to incorporate role-play activities into speaking classes so that students have opportunities to practice English in more active, dynamic, and creative ways. The radical changes that took place at the end of the last century contributed to the emergence of a creative economy. Unlike previous economies, in which the main factors of production were production capacity, land and labor, the basis for the development of the creative economy was the creative potential of man. The current economic situation in Ukraine faces many challenges that need to be confronted with viable solutions. The occupation of Crimea cost Ukraine 3.6% of GDP, and the occupied territories of Donbass cost another 15% of GDP and 25% of all Ukrainian industry. In addition, many industries and factories in Ukraine are physically and morally obsolete and require large capital investments. These problems, which, as the experience of Ukraine shows, are not solved by traditional tools, force us to look for non-standard ways to solve them. Such approaches are offered by the creative economy.To assess the opportunities provided to Ukraine by the development of the national creative economy, the article considers the positive effects of the creative economy as evidenced by the successful experience of other countries. Such effects are the formation of creative human capital, increasing incomes, increasing tolerance, the revival of depressed regions. However, the realization of these positive effects is possible provided that there are components of the creative economy in Ukraine. Research by Ukrainian scientists proves that in Ukraine there are the main features of the creative economy, namely: creative industries; creative class as a basis of the creative lever of development of creative economy; young, creative, ambitious entrepreneurs — startups. A key factor in the development of the creative economy is creative human capital, an essential component of which are entrepreneurs — innovators who establish startups to implement their ideas. Analyzing the various definitions of the category «startup», the authors concluded that the most acceptable is one that reflects the fundamental difference between startups and other businesses, namely: a startup is a business structure based on revolutionary innovations, the purpose of which is to solve a specific problem presentation of a new product or service in conditions of extreme uncertainty. Taking into account the innovative nature of startups, their impact on the creation and development of creative industries and the creative economy in general allowed the authors to conclude that startups are a strategically important component of the development of the creative economy. Research has shown that the Ukrainian startup ecosystem has good potential for development. However, the Government of Ukraine is not yet paying due attention to the development of the ecosystem for the successful creation and operation of domestic startups. Only in the last few years has Ukraine begun to support innovative products at the state level. Examples of such support are the creation of the Invention Support Fund of the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ukrainian Startup Fund. In addition, according to the strategy for the development of innovation for the period up to 2030, startups are a structural part of the national innovation ecosystem. However, intensive long-term work is needed to create an effective startup support ecosystem. Even with large investments and the desire to replicate the successful ecosystems of Silicon Valley or New York, it is very difficult, because their infrastructure was formed over 30 years. Tsangaya System of Education, generally called Makarantan Allo or traditional Qur’anic school has been in existence for decades, its history can be traced back to the early days of the coming of Islam to Nigeria. It has been a source of moral and scholastic training of the Muslim dominated societies in the northern part of Nigeria. The system which provides essentially, basic Qur’anic education to the Almajiri (students) has contributed tremendously in promoting Qur’anic education, inculcating selfdiscipline, spiritual growth of Muslim individuals and the communities. Therefore, this article examines the positive effects of Tsangaya System of Education on the Almajiri in Potiskum Yobe State, Nigeria. The study employed a qualitative approach that entails the techniques of documentation and interviews in collecting data while thematic analysis was utilized for data analysis. The findings revealed that Tsangaya System of Education in Potiskum area of Yobe State has positive effects on the Almajiri in the area such as mastering the recitation, memorization and writing of the glorious Qur’an as well as inculcating good behavioural modes. Nectar-robbing insects, which are frequently described as cheaters in plant–pollinator mutualisms, may affect plant reproductive fitness by obtaining nectar rewards without providing pollination services. The negative effects of nectar robbing on plant reproductive success have been widely reported, but the reasons for possible positive effects demand further investigation. The goal of the study was to evaluate the effects of nectar robbing on the reproductive success of Delphinium caeruleum. Two staminodes cover the stamens and pistils in the flowers of D. caeruleum, forming a “double door” type of structure that compels pollinators to physically manipulate the staminodes to access the sex organs. In order to explore whether the operative strength required to open the staminodes is affected by actions associated with nectar robbing, we set up five different treatment groups: no nectar robbing, natural nectar robbing, artificial nectar robbing, hole making, and nectar removal. A biological tension sensor was used to measure the operative strength required to open the staminodes in the flowers. We also assessed the effect of nectar robbing on the flower-visiting behavior of pollinators and the effect of nectar robbing on reproductive fitness by the flower. The results showed that the operative strength needed to open staminodes was reduced by nectar robbers but not by artificial nectar robbing, hole making, or nectar removal. The flowers’ continuous visitation rate and visitation frequency by pollinators decreased significantly in robbed flowers. Both the pollen export and pollen deposition in naturally robbed flowers were significantly higher than those in nonrobbed flowers. Our results demonstrate that nectar robbers play an indirect positive role in the reproductive fitness of D. caeruleum flowers by reducing the operative strength of staminodes to promote pollen transfer. The reduction in operative strength of staminodes might be an adaptive mechanism that responds to nectar robbing.

English has been a particular subject at schools. Most of the students have difficulties in mastering its vocabulary and grammar. Therefore, at this time the researcher conducted a research which aimed to reveal the effects of using whiteboard animation toward the student’s vocabulary and grammar mastery. The researchers used the experimental research. The sample of research consisted of two groups from the eighth grade students at Indonesian Junior high school. For data collection were taken from pre-test and post-test. The results of were analysed using T-test to verify the hypothesis of the research. The results of this research indicate that whiteboard animation has positive effects on mastering English vocabulary and grammar. There was 58.9% improvement from the experimental group for the vocabulary. While for the control group, there is 37% improvement. For grammar test, the experimental group shows impressively significant difference with more than 100% improvement. While the control group shows 50.5% improvement in the grammar test. In conclusion, the researchers found that students who learn vocabulary and grammar through whiteboard animation show more significant improvement than the control group taught by conventional teaching method. The researchers also measured the effect size between vocabulary post test score with R squared of 0.321 and grammar post-test score with R squared of 0.485 from the experimental group. Based on the results of the research, the researchers concluded that whiteboard animation has significant effect towards both students’ vocabulary and grammar with more improvement on grammar mastery though. There is increasing evidence for graphene associated plant growth promotion, however, the chronic effects of soil-applied graphene remain largely unexplored. The present study investigated the morphological, physiological and biochemical responses of graphene oxide (GO) on Aloe vera L. over the concentration range of 0–100 mg/L for four months. Our results demonstrated that GO, with the best efficiency at 50 mg/L, could enhance the photosynthetic capacity of leaves, increase the yield and morphological characters of root and leaf, improve the nutrient (protein and amino acid) contents of leaf, without reducing the content of the main bioactive compound aloin. Compared with leaves, the effect of GO on root growth was more obvious. Although the electrolyte leakage and MDA content were raised at high concentrations, GO treatment did not increase the root antioxidant enzymes activity or decrease the root vigor, which excluding typical stress response. Furthermore, injection experiments showed that the GO in vivo did not change the plant growth state obviously. Taken together, our study revealed the role of GO in promoting Aloe vera growth by stimulating root growth and photosynthesis, which would provide theory basis for GO application in agriculture and forestry. BACKGROUND Recently, it become an important strategy using light to regulate plant growth and quality, especially on daily edible leafy vegetable. Pak‐choi is rich in healthy functional compounds, e.g. flavonoid and glucosinolate. Many studies have focused on the plant response to increased radiation and transformed visible light quality, however, we know less about different blue and UV‐A light wavelengths. Therefore, the goal of this study was to identify whether different blue and UV‐A light wavelengths could improve quality in two cultivars of pak‐choi and further cultivate potentially healthy functional plants. RESULTS: The different blue and UV‐A light wavelength treatments significantly increased the fresh and dry weight in two cultivars of pak‐choi. Compared with control, the content of soluble protein was higher after the different blue and UV‐A light treatments. Similarly, the contents of total phenolics and total flavonoids increased significantly under the light treatments, and the highest content presented under T430 (supplemental blue light at 430 nm) in red‐leaf pak‐choi and under T400 (supplemental UV‐A light at 400 nm) in green‐leaf pak‐choi. The total anthocyanins content and 2,2‐diphenyl‐1‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) of two pak‐choi cultivars improved positively with decreasing treatment wavelength, and other healthy compounds were affected to varying degrees under supplemental light treatments. CONCLUSION: The growth and healthy compound contents of pak‐choi were significantly improved by supplemental blue and UV‐A light, and there were wavelength‐ and cultivar‐dependent effects. Presenteeism—going to work while ill—is a widespread phenomenon worldwide. Previous research has concentrated mainly on its negative effects. This study investigates the positive consequences of presenteeism derived from a comprehensive content model of presenteeism that was developed on the basis of negative effects. In a quantitative online-survey employees (N = 181) rated the degree of experienced or potential positive effects depending on whether they had worked while ill (75%) or not (25%) during the previous year. Results revealed that all postulated positive effects described in the content model were relevant. Most positive effects were rated significantly higher by participants who had shown presenteeism in comparison to those who had not. The positive effects significantly predicted presenteeism propensity (adjusted R2 = 0.20) for participants having shown presenteeism. In addition, an overall rating of positive effects was significantly related to presenteeism, however, to a lesser degree. Overall, the results demonstrate the applicability of the content model to positive effects of presenteeism. They point to the need for further investigation of them and their consideration for the management of presenteeism.

This article examines the thin ice of discussion concerning digital games and children. From the very beginning of – still very short – history of digital games, there have been voices risen up, drumming the drums of war against it, claiming that this phenomenon should not be existing anywhere near the young ones. Today, the 21st century being still in the beginning, these voices are still audible. Not so strong, but still very much alive. There have been many discussions about how digital games negatively affect the lives of people, especially the youngest of us, creating a narrative about violence and aggressive behaviour. It should be said that many of these were completely ignoring the complex nature of digital games in all of their shades, genres, not even talking about their mechanics, often created precisely for creating positive effects on players. I have been a gamer my whole life. We bought our first personal computer in the 1990s when I was around ten years old. I experienced the negative side of digital games from a different perspective: being completely and utterly misunderstood by parents, constantly being told that I spend too much time by a computer. And here I am, being nearly forty years old, academic writing about digital games and even designing sounds for them and teaching my students about it. The goal of this article is to explore the effects of digital games from the perspective of the father of seven years old daughter, who started to be a gamer even sooner than me. However subjective this abstract seems to appear, the objective here is to be as neutral and scholarly as possible. This article will aim to stay true to a traditional (and stereotypical) perception of digital games, studying so-called positive and negative effects of digital games, but will also focus on more specific aspects of this phenomenon, regarding game aesthetics, mechanics and gameplay and even offline/online aspect of games – all of this being a subject of communication with my daughter, with whom I have been playing digital games from her two years of life. This paper also serves as a survey of what can we learn about/from digital games and – what can we learn from our children, playing them. Lastly, this text is intended to create a foundation for anyone willing to explore this territory from a slightly different perspective, focusing on qualitative aspects of research, dismissing the old narrative, and bringing it to the actual reality of studying games by playing them. Background: Distillery vinasse is one of the promising bio-fertilizers, as it contains significant amounts of essential chemical elements, allied with sorghum that is widely used in the diet of ruminant animals and has been considered as an alternative to the production of other cereals or forages. This study aimed to evaluate saccharin sorghum silage from fertilization with vinasse., Methods: The research was conducted using the BRS-511, CR-1339, and CR-1342 geno-types. The silage was held for 170 days after sowing, with experimental design in blocks with triple factorial (genotypes x fertilization x inoculation) totaling 54 installments. At 95 days, the silos were opened for sample collection and analysis bromatological analysis., Results: The results indicate the primary source of variation was genotype, characterizing them with different potentials in productivity and better results for BRS-511, CR-1339, and CR-1342. The bromatological results indicate good quality for CR-1339 and CR-1342 hybrids, however, better digestability for BRS-511. There was no observable difference between the factors of fertilization. The inoculation additive assists in the reduction of lignin appears to be high. PCA analysis showed differences between cultivars (BRS-511, CR-1339, and CR-1342) and fertili-zation. The dynamic defect tolerance under light soaking is a crucial aspect of halide perovskites. However, the underlying physics of light soaking remains elusive and is subject to debate, exhibiting both positive and negative effects. In this investigation, we demonstrated that surface defects in perovskite films significantly impact the performance and stability of perovskite solar cells, closely correlated with light soaking behaviors. Removing the top surface layer through adhesive tape, the surface defect density noticeably decreases, leading to enhanced photoluminescence (PL) efficiency, prolonged carrier lifetime, and higher conductivity. Consequently, the power conversion efficiency (PCE) of solar cells improves from 17.70% to 20.5%. Furthermore, we confirmed a positive correlation between surface defects and the light soaking effect. Perovskite films with low surface defects surprisingly exhibit a 3-fold increase in PL intensity and an 85% increase in carrier lifetime under 500 s of continuous illumination at an intensity of 100 mW/cm 2 . Beyond the conventional strategy of suppressing defect trapping, we propose increasing the capability of dynamic defect tolerance as an effective strategy to enhance the optoelectronic properties and performance of perovskite solar cells.

The transportation infrastructures like railway tracks and roads bear negative impacts on natural environment. However, the opposite effects are also true in some instances where the man-made constructions have positive effect on faunal assemblages. This proposition was justified through the assessment of bird species using railway stations as model man-made structures in an urban-rural gradient, in the suburbs of Kolkata, India. During the entire study period along nine different railway stations, a total of 43 bird species belonging to 12 orders and 26 families were observed. Among these, the order Passeriformes was predominant in its species composition having 18 different species from 11 different families. In urban railway stations, a total of 23 bird species under 22 genera and 14 families were observed. In suburban railway stations, a total of 35 bird species under 32 genera and 22 families were documented. The railway stations from rural region showed the maximum number of species and abundance of bird families, where a total of 36 bird species under 32 genera and 23 families were observed. The railway stations from the suburban and rural regions were more similar in species composition. Irrespective of the locations, during the entire study period, the House Crow (Corvus splendens) was the dominant species followed by the Common Myna (Acridotheres tristis). About 18 bird species exhibited a decreasing population trend observed through the global population trend analysis. In all the railway stations, the abundance of omnivores were dominant while, the number of granivores were higher in the rural regions and the nectarivores were absent in the urban regions. It was apparent that the railway stations bear a positive effect on the bird species assemblages, which can be sustained through proper environmental management planning inclusive of urban greening. Rooftop photovoltaics (RPVs) have an impact on the ageing failure rate and reliability of transformers. The advantages and disadvantages of different penetrations of rooftop photovoltaic on the reliability of the transformers are studied. For the first time, the adverse effects of high penetration of RPVs on the transformer failure and power system reliability are examined. Regarding the growing interest in the widespread use of renewable energies on account of global warming, studying the negative effects of DG units presence is so important to predict the future of power system conditions. Monte Carlo simulation is used for the probabilistic nature of clearness index and reliability evaluation. Well‐being criteria that show the different operation modes of the power system is used to identify the at‐risk, marginal and healthy mode of the power system in the presence of different penetrations of rooftop photovoltaic. The results show that the maximum penetration of rooftop photovoltaic for improving the reliability of the power system is 5 kW per house in the feeder of Isin in Bandar Abbas, in Iran. Umami taste is the most recent confirmed basic taste in addition to sour, sweet, bitter, and salty. It has been controversial because of its effects on human nutritional benefit. Based on the available literatures, this review categorized 13 positive and negative effects of umami taste on human health. On the positive side, umami taste can improve food flavor and consumption, improve nutrition intake of the elderly and patients, protect against duodenal cancer, reduce ingestion of sodium chloride, decrease consumption of fat, and improve oral functions. On the other hand, umami taste can also induce hepatotoxicity, cause asthma, induce migraine headaches, damage the nervous system, and promote obesity. Due to its novelty, there are many functions and effects of umami taste waiting to be discovered. The COVID-19 pandemic has been spreading rapidly in Spain. The objective of this work was to examine the psychological impact of the pandemic and the Spanish national quarantine that took place during March and April 2020. We investigated the prevalence of fear of coronavirus, emotional symptoms and sleep problems. We also examined possible positive effects. A sample of 1,161 participants (aged 19 to 84 years) completed online the Coronavirus Psychological Impact Questionnaire, the Intolerance to Uncertainty Scale-12, and the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule. Results indicated that the most common fears pertain to the domains of contagion/disease/death, social isolation, and employment/income issues. We found high levels of emotional impact reflected in fear of coronavirus, sleep problems, and emotional symptoms (preoccupation, distress, hopelessness, depression, anxiety, nervousness, and restlessness). Regression analyses revealed that intolerance to uncertainty and media exposure are strong predictors of the impact. We also found some effects of the COVID-19 quarantine favoring positive personal experiences. A new self-report instrument to assess psychological impact of coronavirus is provided.
