Regenerative hydrogels from natural polymers have come forth as auspicious materials for use in regenerative medicine, with interest attributed to their intrinsic biodegradability, biocompatibility, and ability to reassemble the extracellular matrix. This review covers the latest advances in regenerative hydrogels used for wound healing, focusing on their chemical composition, cross-linking mechanisms, and functional properties. Key carbohydrate polymers, including alginate, chitosan, hyaluronic acid, and polysaccharide gums, including agarose, carrageenan, and xanthan gum, are discussed in terms of their sources, chemical structures and specific properties suitable for regenerative applications. The review further explores the categorization of hydrogels based on ionic charge, response to physiological stimuli (i.e., pH, temperature) and particularized roles in wound tissue self-healing. Various methods of cross-linking used to enhance the mechanical and biological performance of these hydrogels are also examined. By highlighting recent innovations and ongoing challenges, this article intends to give a detailed understanding of natural hydrogels and their potential to revolutionize regenerative medicine and improve patient healing outcomes. Background and Objectives: This study aims to assess the health status and factors influencing healthy choices among children and young people in Romania, as well as the efficacy of related health education programs. Through understanding these dynamics, the study seeks to provide insights that can shape targeted interventions, policies, and educational strategies to improve this demographic's overall health and well-being. Materials and Methods: For this study, we performed a literature review of original published papers on the health status, healthy habits, health education, predisposition to making healthy choices in the future, and accessibility to the paediatric health system of Romanian children and young people, as well as the effects of different types of educational interventions on this demographic in Romania. Results: The prevalence of dental caries is high in Romania. In terms of eating habits and nutritional status, a worrying proportion of children are overweight or obese, which can lead to a variety of future physical and psychological problems. In terms of physical activity, few adolescents demonstrate regular fitness practices. Romania presents an increase in alcohol and tobacco consumption among adolescents. The mental health of students has become a pressing public health concern, exacerbated by the COVID-19 pandemic. The use of social networks is linked to mental health issues among young people. Romania still has one of the highest rates of sexually transmitted diseases and faces a high incidence of cervical cancer, with a mortality rate three times higher than the EU average. High rates of teenage pregnancies are linked to limited information about sexuality and a lack of access to family planning at a young age. There are large discrepancies in the accessibility of medical services between urban and rural areas. Conclusions: Romania faces significant obstacles to providing high-quality healthcare to children and young people. Improving nutrition, immunisation rates, and access to medical services represent essential areas for enhancing the health of children and young people in Romania. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study has as its main objective the meristematic regeneration starting from small explants (0.1-0.2) to ensure viral eradication in potato culture. The experiment is monofactorial, the analyzed factor being the variety with 4 graduations: a1: Azaria; a2: Braşov; a3: Cosiana; a4: Cezarina (as control). For Azaria, Brasovia and Cosiana cultivars, the DASELISA test was performed from potato tuber sprouts to determine the viral infection of these cultivars. Thus, the Cosiana variety presented the highest viral load, according DAS-Elisa test, 3 viruses specific to potato culture were identified: PVS, PVM and PLRV; this is followed by the Brasovia variety, which presented the PVS and PVM viruses, and for Azaria variety, the existence of PVS virus was observed. The inability to guarantee complete elimination of viral particles, especially in cases with mixed infections, remains a limitation for these methods based on meristem cultures. After each pass of the meristems, the statistical analysis was performed, regarding the regeneration of the meristems, finding after each pass the decrease in the viability of the meristems, the reason being the reduced sizes of the meristems. During in vitro potato multiplication process, of three Romanian potato varieties (Sarmis, Foresta and Castrum) infected with Potato Virus S (PVS), detected by ELISA test, an experiment was performed with reference of influence of salicylic acid and antiviral ribavirin over two plantlets parameters: height (cm) and leaves number. The trifactorial experience (2 x 3 x 3), on 3 repetitions had the following factors: experimental factor A- the culture medium used before antiviral treatment, with two graduations: a1 - classical medium (as control) Murashige -Skoog (1962); a2 - MS+ salicylic acid (100 mg/l); experimental factor B - the variety, with three graduations: b1 - Sarmis (as control), b2 - Foresta, b3 - Castrum; experimental factor C - ribavirin concentration: c1 - 0 mg/l (as control); c2 - 50 mg/l; c3 - 100 mg/l. The objective of the study is to eradicate PVS. Using of ribavirin drastically decreased the height of the plantlets and the number of leaves, causing very significant negative differences for the two parameters (for both concentrations). This paper presents a modeling process, using the 2D Flux software and an optimization process, based on the Response Surface Method, Central Composite Design, from the Minitab Statistical Software. In this paper, the induction heating in volume of a semi-finished product has been modeled, neglecting the end effect.

In this work, Flux 2D software has been used. It has been coupled with an experimental design method, in order to model the induction heating in volume of a half-finished product, neglecting end effects.

The purpose of this optimization is the identification of optimal parameters for processing the workpiece (the OLC45 steel bar), using inductive heating in volume. Flux 9.3.2 software, in 2D plan, has been employed in order to perform numerical simulations, while Minitab software has been used to determine optimal parameters.

Chitosan-based hydrogels have gained significant attention for their potential applications in water treatment and purification due to their remarkable properties such as bioavailability, biocompatibility, biodegradability, environmental friendliness, high pollutants adsorption capacity, and water adsorption capacity. This article comprehensively reviews recent advances in chitosan-based hydrogel materials for water purification applications. The synthesis methods, structural properties, and water purification performance of chitosan-based hydrogels are critically analyzed. The incorporation of various nanomaterials into chitosan-based hydrogels, such as nanoparticles, graphene, and metal-organic frameworks, has been explored to enhance their performance. The mechanisms of water purification, including adsorption, filtration, and antimicrobial activity, are also discussed in detail. The potential of chitosan-based hydrogels for the removal of pollutants, such as heavy metals, organic contaminants, and microorganisms, from water sources is highlighted. Moreover, the challenges and future perspectives of chitosan-based hydrogels in water treatment and water purification applications are also illustrated. Overall, this article provides valuable insights into the current state of the art regarding chitosan-based hydrogels for water purification applications and highlights their potential for addressing global water pollution challenges. In order to investigate the effect of variety, nutrion space on minitubers production, a study was carried out in the Laboratory of Vegetable Tissue Cultures of NIRDPSB Brașov, in period 2021-2022. The trifactorial experience (3 x 2 x 2), on 3 repetitions, included the following factors: experimental factor A: cultivar, with three gradations: a1 - Marvis; a2 - Castrum; a3 - Ervant (considered control); experimental factor B: year of study, with two graduations: b1 - 2021 (considered control); b2 - 2022; the experimental factor C: the volume of the nutrition space, with two graduations: c1 - 1.5 l (considered control); c2 - 2 l. In this study Ervant cultivar stands out with a high number of minitubers (7.81), and the Castrum variety obtained the highest value of minitubers weight (75.65 g). The use of increased space for culture has a positive influence on minituberization, both in the number and weight of minitubers obtained/plant. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The main objective of this experience was monitoring the effect of plant growth regulators and their combinations on potato plantlets development, respectively on the following parameters: plantlets height, leaves number, root length, weight of fresh plantlet and of root. Thus, during in vitro multiplication process, two auxins were tested: naphthalene acetic acid (NAA) and indolyl acetic acid (IAA) (in two concentrations 0.05% and 0.1%, for both auxins), together with a gibberellin: gibberellic acid (GA3) (0.02%) and in vitro behavior was observed for three potato varieties: Marvis, Castrum, Ervant under the influence of these growth hormones. The nutrient medium supplemented with IAA 0.05% determined plantlets obtaining with high height and with the highest value of fresh root weight. The culture medium containing 0.1% NAA was effective in forming the number of leaves, showing a positive influence. NAA 0.1% + 0.02% GA3 and IAA 0.05% + 0.02% GA3 combinations had a beneficial effect on root length and fresh plantlets weight. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Aloe vera-based hydrogels have emerged as promising platforms for the delivery of therapeutic agents in wound dressings due to their biocompatibility and unique wound-healing properties. The present study provides a comprehensive overview of recent advances in the application of Aloe vera-based hydrogels for wound healing. The synthesis methods, structural characteristics, and properties of Aloe vera-based hydrogels are discussed. Mechanisms of therapeutic agents released from Aloe vera-based hydrogels, including diffusion, swelling, and degradation, are also analyzed. In addition, the therapeutic effects of Aloe vera-based hydrogels on wound healing, as well as the reduction of inflammation, antimicrobial activity, and tissue regeneration, are highlighted. The incorporation of various therapeutic agents, such as antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory ones, into Aloe vera-based hydrogels is reviewed in detail. Furthermore, challenges and future prospects of Aloe vera-based hydrogels for wound dressing applications are considered. This review provides valuable information on the current status of Aloe vera-based hydrogels for the delivery of therapeutic agents in wound dressings and highlights their potential to improve wound healing outcomes. This paper deals with 3D numerical models of transverse flux inductor with a flexible electromagnetic configuration developed in Flux3D software. The simplified 3D model is coupled with a simplex optimization algorithm in order to attain a maximum uniformity of the transversal profile of power developed within the metallic sheet. The complex 3D model is used for a thoroughly analysis of device.

The paper presents the study and design of a fuse based on a numerical model for the coupling of the electric conduction regime and the transient thermal one. Temperature depending properties and the thermal transfer were considered. Parametrized numerical studies were performed in order to established the time-current curve of the fuse.

The paper presents 2D and 3D models for the study of electromagnetic shielding of a coil. The magnetic fields are computed for defining the shielding effectiveness. Parametrized numerical studies were performed in order to established the influence of shield thickness and height on magnetic field in certain points located in the exterior of coil – shield setup and on induced power within the shield.

The present research aims to describe a new methodology to obtain biocompatible hydrogels based on Aloe vera used for wound healing applications. The properties of two hydrogels (differing in Aloe vera concentration, AV5 and AV10) prepared by an all-green synthesis method from raw, natural, renewable and bioavailable materials such as salicylic acid, allantoin and xanthan gum were investigated. The morphology of the Aloe vera based hydrogel biomaterials was studied by SEM analysis. The rheological properties of the hydrogels, as well as their cell viability, biocompatibility and cytotoxicity, were determined. The antibacterial activity of Aloe vera based hydrogels was evaluated both on Gram-positive, Staphylococcus aureus and on Gram-negative, Pseudomonas aeruginosa strains. The obtained novel green Aloe vera based hydrogels showed good antibacterial properties. In vitro scratch assay demonstrated the capacity of both AV5 and AV10 hydrogels to accelerate cell proliferation and migration and induce closure of a wounded area. A corroboration of all morphological, rheological, cytocompatibility and cell viability results indicates that this Aloe vera based hydrogel may be suitable for wound healing applications.
