This study explores the evolving dynamics of vaccine hesitancy and refusal (VHR) during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the shift from a simple dichotomy to a nuanced continuum including cautious acceptance, a «wait and see» approach, and firm refusal. Based on 42 in-depth interviews conducted between August 2021 and March 2023 with 22 vaccine refusers and 20 vaccine-hesitant individuals from central-northern Italy, the research spans ages 21 to 69 across diverse demographics. The findings reveal significant differences in trust towards health authorities and vaccine information. Hesitant individuals maintain some trust and seek assurances, while refusers exhibit deep-rooted skepticism, especially regarding pharmaceutical influences and government mandates. Misinformation impacts both groups differently; hesitants seek credible clarifications, while refusers view misinformation as validation of their doubts. Personal health beliefs are crucial, with hesitants concerned about vaccine safety and efficacy, and refusers opposing vaccines on ideological grounds. The study underscores the importance of autonomy in health decisions and the need for informed choices. Both groups struggle with conflicting information, highlighting the need for clear, accessible, and respectful communication that addresses diverse concerns within the VHR spectrum. The Personal Health Record (PHR) acts as a central repository for health information, often managed by third-party cloud providers. However, this raises privacy concerns as sensitive personal health data could be exposed. To address this, we propose innovative data control mechanisms specifically designed for PHRs hosted on semi-trusted servers. Utilizing AttributeBased Encryption (ABE) techniques, we encrypt eachpatient's PHR file, drawing from previous research on secure data outsourcing. Unlike existing methods, our focus lies in streamlining core management for PHR users and owners across different scenarios. By employing MultiAuthorization ABE, we ensure robust patient privacy while facilitating access policies, dynamic attribute adjustments, user/attribute overrides upon request, and emergency mirror access. The U. S. Department of Health and Human Services compiled a group of wellness toolkits to help find each person's healthiest self. These toolkits highlight evidence-based tips for living well and improving health. The toolkits include interactive flip cards, checklists, and downloadable content to learn strategies for increasing wellness. The goal of these toolkits is to recognize the different bodies, minds, living situations, and people influencing the lives of the people in the United States and to provide ways in each area to positively impact overall health. Background: In the fields of food science and technology, sensory evaluation is extensively studied to assess personal perception and acceptability. However, studies on Thai consumers’ personal perceptions of and acceptability of food products containing crickets have not been conducted. Objectives: The overall goal of this study was to find out how well-liked two food products containing house crickets were by Thai customers in good health regarding their sensory qualities. Methods: The 3-point Just-About-Right (JAR) scale measured the foods’ sensory characteristics, including thickness, color, odor, sweetness, and saltiness. Food product approval among consumers was assessed using the 9-point Hedonic scale. Nutrient density was measured using the nutrient-rich foods (NRF) index, highlighting the potential health benefits of these products. Results: For every attribute, the goodness-of-fit score of the cricket puffed rice (CPR) was higher than 70%. The cricket-galangal chili paste (CGCP) received a score of greater than 70% for color and odor, but the sweetness was required more since it had a JAR score of 53.3 percent. The customer acceptance scores of CPR and CGCP were 6.63-7.60 and 6.60-7.50 on the 9-point Hedonic scale. The NRF indices of the CPR and CGCP were 19.19 and 20.44 (intermediate levels). Conclusion: There was no need for improvements in the cricket puffed rice product, but cricket-galangal chili paste should be improved. Further study on nutrition facts is required. Purpose of Review: Pollen is enormously important to the human experience. As pollen became germane to human health in the late nineteenth century, methods for pollen collection and measurement were developed. Techniques were standardized and pollen counting networks were established in many parts of the world during the middle to late part of the twentieth century. With some notable exceptions, the technology of the 1950s and 1960s is presently employed to create the current pollen counting networks. Pollen counting networks in the past faced substantial challenges. Pollen counting networks using the same technology as the past face the same challenges. Recent Findings: As we move into the twenty-first century, automated pollen counting technology enables pollen counting networks to be robust, available, scalable, self-perpetuating, and able to meet modern demands. Summary: Automated pollen measurement networks present a promising path towards a more informed, data-driven, and effective approach to managing allergens, improving crop yields, and minimizing human suffering caused by pollen. By empowering individuals with comprehensive pollen data, a feat not possible with manual counting, we can help people make informed decisions and take proactive measures to minimize exposure to allergens and improve their well-being. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to a global shift toward online education, which has increased the use of technology for communication, management, and remote teaching. This study aimed to investigate how primary school teachers in China used technology during the Pandemic and to what extent they experienced Technostress, as well as the impact of Technostress on work–family conflicts and technology-induced health issues. A survey was conducted among 1,172 primary school teachers, and the results revealed that teachers exhibited a moderate to a high level of Technostress during the Pandemic, with differences observed in gender, age, and headteacher duties. Furthermore, Technostress was positively correlated with work–family conflicts and technology-induced health issues. Technology use intensity was found to directly impact work–family conflicts and personal health and indirectly impact them via the agency effects of Technostress. School support moderated the indirect relationship between technology use intensity and work–family conflicts and health issues, with higher levels of school support leading to less apparent impacts of technology intensity on work–family conflicts and personal health via the agency effect of Technostress. These findings provide timely insights for post-pandemic teacher training and technology management and suggest the importance of school support in promoting sustainable educational development. Background Emotional intelligence is the self-perception related to identification and regulation of emotions. Several studies have been done among Indian teachers evaluating emotional intelligence in relation to demographic, professional and various psychological parameters, but the variety of scales, teacher types, and conflicting results makes it difficult to draw any meaningful conclusions from this heterogeneous data. The present work aims to synthesize the available data by both qualitative and quantitative analysis and is the first such attempt to include only Indian studies in this field. The main objectives were to determine the correlation of emotional intelligence with teachers’ health parameters and to study the gender difference in emotional intelligence. Methods After a thorough literature search in Google, Google scholar, Scopus, Web of science and Pubmed, fifty-five Indian studies were selected which empirically examined teachers’ emotional intelligence, either alone or in association with another parameter evaluating teachers’ psychological health and performance. After qualitative assessment of major findings, quantitative analysis was performed. Three separate meta-analysis were carried out. The first one with fifteen effect sizes among 3291 participants evaluated correlation with personal health parameters. The second with nineteen effect sizes in 4165 participants evaluated correlation with professional health parameters. The third with twenty-six studies involving 6005 participants assessed effect of gender. Results The results show that almost all studies have used a trait measure, teachers’ emotional intelligence is positively correlated with both personal and professional health parameters and gender has no effect on emotional intelligence. Conclusion Major limitations are a very high degree of heterogeneity of the data, incomplete description of the scales, inadequate randomization and small sample sizes in many studies. The results indicate the importance of emotional intelligence in both personal and professional life of teachers and no effect of gender preparing a solid base for future research.

The science of achieving a healthy mind, body, and spirit through objectives and activities is known as personal health (PH). We must be aware of our mental, bodily, and social well-being. The term "hygiene" refers to a wide variety of healthy behaviours. Individuals' healthcare costs and quality of life increased by avoiding or reducing the long-term effects of the disease through knowledge and skills. Biomedical apparel includes sutures, vascular grafts, and biodegradable clothes (BC). Biomedical clothing is anything implanted or incorporated into the human body and used near tissue, blood, or cells. Quick, dependable, and energyefficient connectivity between wireless sensor networks is necessary (WSNs). Physical layers, media access control, networking layers, and control requirements must be co-designed. For those with lesser means, health insurance will increase in cost. There are difficulties with privacy and cyber security, a higher chance of malpractice claims, and increased time and financial expenditures for doctors and patients. In this study, wireless sensor networks-based personal health biomedical clothing (PH-BC-WSN) was utilized to increase access to high-quality healthcare, increase food production through precision agriculture, and raise the standard of human resources. More effective healthcare and medical asset monitoring systems can be developed thanks to the Internet of Things. Eavesdropping on medical data, modification, fabrication of warnings, denial of service, user tracking and location, physical interference with equipment, and electromagnetic threats were extensively discussed. The article gives several instances of current technology, discusses design challenges including energy efficiency, security, and scalability, provides various demonstrations of current technology, and provides a complete analysis of all the advantages and disadvantages. Despite their many benefits, body sensor networks have several significant obstacles and unresolved research problems, which are described along with some potential answers. Background and Objectives: School students are often exposed to health risks due to insufficient knowledge of personal hygiene and its methods. Problems caused by non-observance of personal hygiene appear serious in public health and play an important role in the spread of infectious diseases and the severance of social ties. The importance of studying and using comic strip media with health topics in education is that it provides an opportunity for the students to reflect on the effectiveness of medications, the pressures on patients and their families, and even on their inner experiences. Therefore, considering the importance of personal health education in sensitive childhood and school years, the present study was conducted to investigate the effect of education by comic strip personal health media on social skills of fourth-grade elementary students.Methods: The present study is of applied type and based on quasi-experimental data collection criteria. The statistical population of the study was all fourth-grade students in Dezful in the academic year 2020-2021. The size of the statistical population was 1825 students. A total of 30 students were included in the sample and were randomly assigned to the experimental and control groups (15 in the experimental group and 15 in the control group). The tools used in this study were researcher-made comic strip media as well as the Garshasm and Priority’s (1990) Social Skills Questionnaire, which was completed in two stages: pre-test and post-test. The training program was performed in 8 sessions of 45 minutes for three weeks for the experimental group and the control group received no intervention. At the end of the intervention period, both groups were re-evaluated. In order to check the data, SPSS software (Version 22) and covariance method were analyzed. It should be noted that the assumptions of the test were tested by Kolmogorov-Smirnov and Levine tests.Findings: The findings obtained after repeated analysis of data showed that there was a significant difference between the participants in the experimental group and the control group in terms of the rate of acquisition of social skills. The social skills of students who learned personal hygiene using comic strip media were higher than that of those students in the control group. Therefore, the use of intervention method (training by personal health comic strip media) was effective on the social skills variable (P≤0.05).Conclusion: Using comic strip as an attractive visual medium to teach personal health content can strengthen the social skills of fourth-grade elementary students by actively interpreting incomplete frames of comic strip, and being actively engaged with the stories. And health narratives will interact, and as a result, their knowledge and literacy in how to create and promote desirable and healthy social skills in real-life situations will improve. Comic strip media seems to be a suitable tool and a good option for educating learners due to its objectivity and suitability to the stage of children's development; Therefore, it is suggested that the use of this new media be on the agenda of education in order to familiarize and deepen students' learning experiences in the field of social skills training.

Social work is constantly evolving and theoretically enriched to meet people's needs in new social situations. Informal carers must balance care with other demands while facing a range of obstacles. Despite research on what informal carers require, a specific typology of their needs has yet to be formulated. The research question considered is "What are the (groups of) needs of individuals who provide informal care for people with dementia?". As part of the research project Long-term Care for People with Dementia in Social Work Theory and Practice, we interviewed a non-random convenience sample of 20 relatives acting as informal carers of people with dementia. The results are presented as a typology of needs on the micro level (personal health--emotional health, physical health), mezzo level (care tasks-- support from formal care, planning--information, counselling) and macro level (legislation, system changes). Most obstacles and needs identified were on the micro and mezzo levels. More than on the system (macro level), informal carers see the responsibility and burden of care as lying on the individual (micro level) and institutions and the community (mezzo level). Harmony and enjoyment at workplace have a positive influence on commitment, work productivity and loyalty to the organization. Therefore, this study aims to identify the level of harmony that consists of the dimensions of self-motivation, external motivation, physical environment, psychosocial and personal health among IPG Campus lecturers in Penninsular Malaysia. This study also aims to identify the differences level of harmony based on demographic factors (gender, age, academic qualifications and service duration) among the lecturers. Data was collected by a cross-sectional survey through the Teacher Institution's Well-being Questionnaire (TIWEQ) constructed by the researchers. The questionnaire had also been tested for the validity and reliability. A total of 857 samples were involved in this study. The findings of the study showed that the level of harmony among IPG campus lecturers in Peninsular Malaysia is at a high level of 53.2 percent (n = 456). Based on the dimensions, it was found that the highest mean value is the self-motivation dimension (M = 3.68, SD = 0.38) while the lowest mean value is the personal health dimension (M = 2.79, SD = 0.59). This finding contributes to the field of knowledge that the importance of balance between external and internal harmony for the sustainability of the education system. The main health problem in the adult age group in Indonesia is obesity, which is closely related to diet. The purpose of this research is to design a verified business model for "Go Healthy" catering. This research uses a consumer discovery approach and a descriptive research design. Data collection was carried out by purposive sampling in the Jabodetabek area. The research respondents were 50 people aged 19-24 years who were interested in diet programs. Data were collected by filling out online questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Based on the results of the research, the problems found in this study are irregular diets, poor food quality, and nutritional deficits. These problems became the basis for the formation of the "Go Healthy" catering prototype. The "Go Healthy" catering prototype is a menu arrangement for 15 days with the value offered including menu customization, menu composition info with nutritional content, and affordable prices. The business is ffered through online and offline outlet channels and through resellers. The business revenue comes from a subscription system.

The vast and growing challenges for human health and all life on Earth require urgent and deep structural changes to the way in which we live. Broken relationships with nature are at the core of both the modern health crisis and the erosion of planetary health. A declining connection to nature has been implicated in the exploitative attitudes that underpin the degradation of both physical and social environments and almost all aspects of personal physical, mental, and spiritual health. It is increasingly clear that the entwined challenges of biodiversity loss, climate change, and human health cannot be addressed without addressing selfishness, greed, apathy, and the value systems that created these global problems. Calls for a spiritual and cultural transformation recognize that "inner" development is important and necessary for meaningful "outward" transitions with a shared purpose for wiser, more sustainable societies. Many of these emotional and spiritual assets appear to be facilitated by a connection to nature, which is also strongly associated with community cohesion, prosocial attitudes, and pro-environmental actions. Restoring the human connection to nature may therefore provide a critical common pathway to promote the physical and spiritual wellbeing of individuals and communities as well as personal and social environmental responsibility. In this paper, we summarize and reflect on the discussions of the Nova Network planetary health community with respect to nature-based solutions as pathways to promote both personal and planetary health with a more mutualistic mindset. These discussions spanned biological to psychological interactions with nature—including the critical relationships with environmental microbes that influence the physical, emotional, and behavioral aspects of health. The current study assesses the impacts of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic on tourism workers in Jordan between mid-March 2020 and June 2021 by investigating corona threats, financial impacts, resources impacts, social isolation, depression and personal control experienced by tourism workers during the COVID-19 pandemic, and how the threats of corona, financial impacts, resources impacts, social isolation, depression and personal control affect workers’ personal health and well-being. A quantitative survey method was applied by using a questionnaire. Data were collected from a sample of 400 workers from the tourism sector in Jordan. The study’s hypotheses were tested by using the Smart Partial Least Square (PLS) 3.3.3 Statistical Software. The findings of the study revealed that tourism workers are financially strained, socially isolated, psychologically depressed, uncontrolled their self, and have limited resources as a result of their dread of the pandemic and its negative impacts. It was also found that a significant negative direct effect of perceived coronavirus threats, financial impacts, resources impacts, and social isolation on workers’ depression and personal control, which in turn had a significant influence on workers’ personal health and well-being. In addition, this study proposed a model of the influence of coronavirus threats and its impacts on workers’ personal health and well-being, whereby workers’ depression and personal control fully mediate these relationships. The current study offers additional insights on the COVID-19 pandemic impacts on tourism workers’ personal health and well-being.

It is essential to have a fast, reliable, and energy-efficient connection between wireless sensor networks (WSNs). Control specifications, networking layers, media access control, and physical layers should be optimised or co-designed. Health insurance will become more expensive for individuals with lower incomes. There are privacy and cyber security issues, an increased risk of malpractice lawsuits, and more costs in terms of both time and money for doctors and patients. In this paper, personal health biomedical clothing based on wireless sensor networks (PH-BC-WSN) was used to enhance access to quality health care, boost food production through precision agriculture, and improve the quality of human resources. The internet of things enables the creation of healthcare and medical asset monitoring systems that are more efficient. There was extensive discussion of medical data eavesdropping, manipulation, fabrication of warnings, denial of services, position and tracker of users, physical interference with devices, and electromagnetic attacks. With the development of social economy, along with the excessive use of fossil fuels, the continuous emission of automobile exhaust, haze pollution is becoming more and more serious. In view of the lack of understanding of haze pollution, in this paper, the man-made and natural factors of haze formation are analyzed. Furthermore, evaluation indexes such as daily average concentration of PM2.5, metal element content and pollution particle size distribution are used to analyze the pollution degree in haze days. The paper summaries collection procedure of haze air samples and the measurement methods of haze weather evaluation indexes, and proposes the calculation and analysis formulas of PM2.5 daily average concentration and metal element content. It can provide theoretical basis for field tests. Community A in northern China with severe haze pollution and community B in southern China without haze pollution were selected for comparative analysis. The daily average concentrations of PM2.5 in the two samples were analyzed. The results show that there are 40 days of PM2.5 exceedance haze in community A and 7 days in community B. After analyzing the content of metal elements in the air of 40 days haze weather with PM2.5 exceeding the standard in community A, it is concluded that the average concentrations of metal elements As, Pd, Cd and BaP are 1.5, 2.5, 7.5 and 9.5 times higher than the national quality standard respectively. Through the analysis of particle mass concentration, it is concluded that the concentration presents a single peak distribution, and the particle size is mainly concentrated in 0.3-1.1 µm and the range of particle concentration is focused on 0.2-1.2 µm. The total amount of particles accounts for 90% of all particles. Through the investigation and analysis of two community testers, it is concluded that in the haze polluted community, the lung function index of tester A is significantly lower than that of tester B. It reflects that the lung function of people living and exercising in the haze polluted environment has been damaged to a certain extent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: now a days, electronical devices such as Laptops and computers due to their well functional usage, may have a major roll and effect on human health. So it is important to be more attentive to their cleanliness. Material & methods: in this descriptive cross-sectional study some electronical devices such as Laptops, Tablets, Printer sets, Scanners and multiple part of computers including monitors, mouses, keyboards and cases were assessed by some scientific bacteriological methods like Gram staining and cellular morphology. Results: generally 9410 electronic samples is collected while 7128 cases (75.74%) were polluted significantly. The highest rate of contamination is due to Staphylococcus epidermidis. Almost all the keyboards are extremely contaminated. Conclusion: accordingly, the proper disinfection of such devices in a regular manner recommended to avoid many complexities confront to human health. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Auscultation methods allow the non-invasive diagnosis of pathological conditions (e.g., of the lung, heart or blood vessels) based on sounds that the body produces (e.g., breathing, heartbeat, swallowing or the blood flow). Through regular homebased examinations and Big Data combined with Machine learning techniques like Deep Learning, these could help detect diseases in an early stage, thus preventing serious health conditions and subsequently ensuring optimal therapy through continuous monitoring. This paper presents BODYTUNE, a novel inexpensive multi-auscultation system that aims at providing a tool for establishing a baseline of audio signal derived classification parameters that could be used for the self-monitoring of personal health for everybody through the analysis of deviations from that baseline. In the future, Big Data analysis could additionally lead to prediction and early detection of disease events.

Various approaches to defining the object of disclosure of information about the medical examination to detect infection with human immunodeficiency virus or other incurable infectious disease, i.e a criminal offense under Art. 132 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, are analyzed through the prism of criminal offenses against life and health of a person. The problematic issues of the chosen subject concerning the inconsistency of the object of the criminal offense provided by Art. 132 of the Criminal code of Ukraine, with other criminal offenses against life and health of the person are highlighted. To achieve the goals and objectives of the study, a number of modern general scientific and special methods of scientific cognition were used, such as dialectical, comparative law, system structural, dogmatic, legal (dogmatic) and generalization method. These methods were used together, which contributed to the achievement of the goal and defined tasks. In addition, the study is based on the analysis of domestic regulations governing criminal relations in the field of protection of life and health and confidentiality of information, such as the Constitution of Ukraine, the Criminal Code of Ukraine and other laws of Ukraine. According to the results of the study, for the first time it was proposed to define the object of disclosure of information about a medical examination for human immunodeficiency virus or other incurable infectious disease as a public relationship to protect confidential information about the person, which is confirmed by the study. The thesis on the need to exclude Article 132 from the Criminal Code of Ukraine and expand the content of the disposition of Art. 182 of the Criminal code of Ukraine with such criminally illegal act, as disclosure of information about a medical examination to detect infection with human immunodeficiency virus or other incurable infectious disease is investigated. These results of the study are confirmed by scientific arguments based on a comparative legal study of scientific approaches to defining the object of the outlined criminal offense and analysis of the legal norms of current domestic law.

A quantitative and dynamic analysis of skeletal muscle structure and function can guide training protocols and optimize interventions for rehabilitation and disease. While technologies exist to measure body composition, techniques are still needed for quantitative, long-term functional imaging of muscle at the bedside. We evaluate whether diffuse optical spectroscopic imaging (DOSI) can be used for long-term assessment of resistance training (RT). DOSI measures of tissue composition were obtained from 12 adults before and after 5 weeks of training and compared to lean mass fraction (LMF) from dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA). Significant correlations were detected between DXA LMF and DOSI-measured oxy-hemo/myoglobin, deoxy-hemo/myoglobin, total-hemo/myoglobin, water, and lipid. RT-induced increases of ∼6% in oxy-hemo/myoglobin (3.4±1.0  μM, p=0.00314) and total-hemo/myoglobin (4.9±1.1  μM, p=0.00024) from the medial gastrocnemius were detected with DOSI and accompanied by ∼2% increases in lean soft tissue mass (36.4±12.4  g, p=0.01641) and ∼60% increases in 1 rep-max strength (41.5±6.2  kg, p=1.9E-05). DOSI measures of vascular and/or muscle changes combined with correlations between DOSI and DXA suggest that quantitative diffuse optical methods can be used to evaluate body composition, provide feedback on long-term interventions, and generate new insight into training-induced muscle adaptations.

Extant research on proxy health information-seeking behavior (PHISB) mainly focuses on the process and influencing factors of behavior, as well as the characteristics, behavior patterns, and proxy-seeking intention of seekers. There is, however, a lack of discussion on the effect of PHISB. This study aims to construct a theoretical framework model of the factors that influence the effect of PHISB, and more specifically, the effect perceived by the proxy. Semi-structured in-depth interviews and procedural grounded theory were used to explore the factors influencing the proxy perceived effect of PHISB. Participants were 18 middle-aged individuals of different genders, occupations, and education levels in China. The interview texts were analyzed and coded according to procedural grounded theory, and four factors were found to influence the proxy perceived effect of PHISB in China: information quality, inherent cognition, rational cognition, and perceptual cognition. Objective: The importance of ensuring that patients understand and remember information from rheumatology consultations is well recognised. However, literature focuses on 'one-size-fits-all' information resources. In this qualitative study our 'upclose, in-depth, inside-out' exploration sought to understand the personalised written consultation summary, a rheumatologist's patient-centred strategy developed through ongoing reflection.Methods: A research team of a rheumatologist, practice nurse, two patients, registrar and researcher used a participatory research approach, collaborative inquiry Semistructured interviews were undertaken with 29 patients. Data analysis was dialogical and iterative, moving from descriptive to conceptual.Results: Implicit within the personalised written consultation summary were domains and actions of: INVOLVEMENT in the process (contributing to the content, clarifying and negotiating the content, being present as it is written), CONTINUITY of information (taking the summary, sharing it with others, storing it at home) and SECURITY for ongoing management (owning the summary, being reminded about management plans, having a basis for re-checking).Conclusion: Aligned with the findings are patient-centred intentions for health literacy, personal health information management and medication adherence. The second highlights an important theoretical basis for patient-centred rheumatology strategies beyond consultations.Practice Implications: A model and reflective questions are presented to inform ongoing reflections about patient-centred information strategies. Objectives: China has experienced an ongoing urbanisation that associated with spatial transformation and personal changes, which are expected to have direct or indirect impacts on migrants’ health and well-being. This study aims to investigate their life satisfaction and the significant influences.Method: A quantitative research strategy was adopted, with the questionnaire survey towards 877 migrants across Hangzhou and Ningbo cities. Descriptive statistics showed migrants’ life satisfaction, socio-demographic characteristics and urbanisation features. Three logistic regression models examined key factors that influenced life satisfaction.Results: Over one third of migrants were unsatisfied with their life. They mainly received education lower than high school and had an annual household income less than 60k. Comparatively, migrants, who worked in formal sectors, moved into resettlement communities and adapted to city life, tended to have higher levels of life satisfaction.Conclusion: There should be an improvement in migrants’ life satisfaction. This could be achieved by building up their educational level and financial capability. Meanwhile, positive actions such as professional training are required to maximise their participation in formal sectors as well as community life.

Wearable sensors are an important part of the new telemedical concept, which aims to improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare via the use of information technology. The use of sensors in patient diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring has the potential to transform not just medical practice, but the relationship with one's body and mind, as well as patients' and health providers' roles and duties. Consequently, researchers have been interested in wearable sensors in recent years because of its potential uses in motion detection, personal and public healthcare, future entertainment, man-machine interaction, artificial intelligence, and several other disciplines. This study focuses on elderly healthcare as wearable technology plays an important role in providing healthy care for the elderly, supporting their lives and daily activities, besides assisting them in becoming self-sufficient, and most importantly the ability to monitor their health status remotely and send emergency alert signals to concerned individuals or medical institutions. Background: Modern environmental health research extensively focuses on outdoor air pollutants and their effects on public health. However, research on monitoring and enhancing individual indoor air quality is lacking. The field of exposomics encompasses the totality of human environmental exposures and its effects on health. A subset of this exposome deals with atmospheric exposure, termed the “atmosome.” The atmosome plays a pivotal role in health and has significant effects on DNA, metabolism, skin integrity, and lung health. Objective: The aim of this work is to develop a low-cost, comprehensive measurement system for collecting and analyzing atmosomic factors. The research explores the significance of the atmosome in personalized and preventive care for public health. Methods: An internet of things microcontroller-based system is introduced and demonstrated. The system collects real-time indoor air quality data and posts it to the cloud for immediate access. Results: The experimental results yield air quality measurements with an accuracy of 90% when compared with precalibrated commercial devices and demonstrate a direct correlation between lifestyle and air quality. Conclusions: Quantifying the individual atmosome is a monumental step in advancing personalized health, medical research, and epidemiological research. The 2 main goals in this work are to present the atmosome as a measurable concept and to demonstrate how to implement it using low-cost electronics. By enabling atmosome measurements at a communal scale, this work also opens up potential new directions for public health research. Researchers will now have the data to model the impact of indoor air pollutants on the health of individuals, communities, and specific demographics, leading to novel approaches for predicting and preventing diseases. Older adults are relatively physically active compared to other age group. A lack of physical activity (PA) can cause chronic diseases including osteoarthritis of knee (OA knee) and might eventually reduce quality of life (QOL). This present study was aimed to investigate association between levels of PA and OA knee with levels of QOL in community-dwelling older adults. One thousand and sixty-seven community-dwelling older persons were recruited to this descriptive study. PA activity questionnaire was invented. Standardized Oxford knee score and World Health Organization's Quality of Life scale (WHOQOL-BREF) were used to measure OA knee and QOL levels. Results showed that levels of PA in older adults were significantly associated with levels of OKS (χ² = 78.565, P-value < .001) and levels of OA knee in older adults were significantly associated with levels of overall QOL (χ² = 57.738, P-value < .001). Pearson's correlation also showed interrelation among PA, OA knee, and QOL. In conclusion, PA, OA knee, and QOL are interrelated. Therefore, close monitoring and design of proper PA activity should be implemented in community-dwelling older adults with OA knee. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
