Background: There are various reasons of infertility in male which can be managed with pharmacotherapy and psychological methods .Physiological and Psychological factors such as low self esteem, stigma, depression anxiety etc which leads to stress contribute to infertility related causes. Yoga (Asanas, Pranayama and Meditation) shows effects on improving psychological factors but no studies are conducted on yognidra related with male infertility. A comparison between yognidra and antioxidant will be efficient in improving quality of semen and can increase ART success rate and Pregnancy incidence by treating psychological and physiological factor. Aim and Objectives: To study the effectiveness of yognidra and antioxidant on semen quality in subfertile male patients undergoing IVF cycles. To sensitize all subfertile males about the study. To assess the effect of yoganidra in subfertile males. To assess the effect of antioxidant in subfertile males. To compare and analyze the semen quality after giving both types of interventions Methodology: 60 infertile patients visiting Infertility clinic Wardha test tube baby centre ,AVBRH, Sawangi Meghe, Wardha will participate in the study. Consent form will be signed by patient. The patients will be divided in to 2 groups of Group number 1 with (30 subjects) antioxidants and Group number 2 will be given (30 subjects) Yognidra. Comprehensive history of patient will be taken in the prescribed format and external genitalia will be clinically examined at Surgery OPD. Study the semen quality and divide according to WHO criteria .Assessment and comparison of semen quality of both the groups before and after intervention .Data of two groups will be analysed and compared. Expected Results: The study shows a comparison between yognidra and antioxidant will be efficient in improving quality of semen and can increase ART success rate and Pregnancy incidence by treating psychological and physiological factor. Conclusion: The current research study will help to understand and explore the utility of yognidra at Infertility clinics and assist practitioner to engage subfertile couples undergoing IVF treatment in the practice of these technique. This study will enhance the quality of support programmes and psychological research. Incorporating psychological intervention provided by yognidra will act as a complementary therapy during infertility treatment.

Adolescence is “a period of great strain and stress, storm and strife’. Every individual wants to live a healthy and peaceful life. Each one must be aware of one’s strength, weakness, feelings, perceptions, thoughts, behaviours, initiation, motivations and actions particularly at specific life events. Self-awareness directs to perform any work in effective manner. Adolescents are expected to have highest level of self-awareness as it is the most important turning point in one’s life Objectives: 1) To assess the level of self-awareness among the adolescents. 2) To evaluate the social behaviour of the adolescents. 3) To find out the relationship between self-awareness on the social behaviour of the adolescents. Research Design: Correlation study. Population: Adolescents in the age group of 13-17 years both males and females Sample Size: 909. MaterialS: Modified self-awareness Scale and Researcher developed Adolescent social behavior scale. Results: Self-awareness has positive non-significant (r=0.004, p=0.91) relationship with the social behavior among adolescents. Conclusion: The study findings reveal that as the self awareness improves there are chances of improving the social behavior of adolescents. There are many factors contributing to social behavior such as education, socio-economic status, parental education and their occupation, friends and facilities provided for growth, motivation of adolescents and the surrounding environment and most importantly the provisions for facilitating the interactions between these factors.

Anxiety depression is the commonest phenomena in preponderant population. Many individuals might have experience it and still not know, very often in a state of constant denial and negligence with the fact knowingly. The causes can vary from psychological, physiological and traumatic past experiences. This article incorporate studies of anxietydepression and their relationship and causes. Anxiety depression are the most common psychological disorder. Their relationship is very baffling, their symptoms overlaps with each other. There are many causes for it physiological, psychological, behavioural, insomnia, or due to past trauma. Physical exercise reduces the symptoms of mild anxiety and depression.

Background: Diabetes is a chronic metabolic abnormality due to either decreased secretion of insulin or decreased tissue sensitivity of insulin resulting in elevated blood glucose. Most common complication of diabetes is peripheral neuropathy. In this research project, we will be conducting a pilot study to observe the effect of glycaemic control on physiological functioning of nerve with the help of neurophysiological parameters, independent of duration of diabetes. Objectives: To investigate relationship of quality of glycemic control & severity of neurological changes. To find out whether glycemic control acts as an independent risk factor for progression of diabetic neuropathy despite the duration of diabetes. To validate the HBA1C at 10 for future longitudinal study to understand the association between glycemic control & progression of neuropathy. Methodology: 60 type II diabetic patients visiting diabetic OPD (Medicine) will participate in the study. The patients will be divided in to 2 groups of Group number 1 with (30 subjects) HBA1C < 10 and Group number 2 having (30 subjects) HBA1C >10. Electrodiagnostic study will be conducted on motor (tibial nerve) and sensory (sural nerve) will be performed in Neurophysiology lab. Neurophysiological parameters data of two groups will be analysed and compared. Expected Results: The pilot study will help to find out whether glycaemic control acts as a separate risk factor for progression of diabetic neuropathy despite duration of diabetes. Conclusion: This pilot study will help to establish the association between quality of glycaemic control and severity of neurological changes. Also, this will help to validate the HBA1C at 10 for further longitudinal study to know whether poor diabetes control is an independent risk factor associated to the severity of neuropathy in type II diabetes.

The neuropathies are very common in diabetes and one of the most important presentations is proximal neuropathy which is called as diabetic amyotrophy. Diabetic amyotrophy is a condition presented as a proximal motor neuropathy which is asymmetric and with weakening of the proximal muscles supplied by the femoral and obturator nerves and sometimes there may be distal polyneuropathy. The diabetic amyotrophy includes various elements of lumbosacral plexus and electrodiagnostic study often gives the diagnosis of neurogenic lesion affecting at the level of root called as lumbosacral radiculopathy, or involving plexus as plexopathy, or proximal neuropathy. Thus, the disorder is called lumbosacral radiculoplexus neuropathy. This article is a case study related with neurophysiological findings of diabetic amyotrophy which shows asymmetric proximal motor neuropathy.

Introduction: There is a widespread prevalence of obesity and growing evidence suggests its possible adverse effect on cognitive functions. Hence, it is important to study the relationship between Body Mass Index (BMI) and Cognitive Functions. Aim: The aim of this study was to find out the association between BMI and cognitive functions in medical students. The present study also determined whether there are any gender based difference of association of BMI and cognitive functions. Materials and Methods: A cross-sectional study was done at Cognitive function test Laboratory of Dr. Vasantrao Pawar Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Nashik between July and December 2016. Study was done on randomly selected medical undergraduate students (50 male and 50 females) of 18-25 years age group. Height and weight were recorded and subjects were divided into 3 groups based on BMI (in kg/m2) as: Underweight (BMI 25 kg/m2). In all the above BMI groups, four domains of cognitive functions were assessed i.e., attention, perception, executive functions and working memory using Visual and Auditory Reaction Time (VRT and ART) and Go/No-Go VRT and ART; Fast Counting (FC); Eriksen Flanker Test (EFT) and Stroop Test (ST) and Visual Forward (VFDS) and Backward Digit Span (VBDS) test, respectively. The data was statistically analysed and different cognitive function tests were compared in various categories of BMI (viz., underweight, normal and overweight) using ANOVA and Tukey HSD tests. Background: Different studies conducted worldwide among medical students have reported the prevalence of stress ranging from 27% to 73%. Exam stress acts as an acute stressor which affects cognitive functions. It is found that the exam stress elicits elevated activity in the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis and increased release of cortisol. Aims and Objective: The study was planned to investigate gender difference in perceptions of exam stress and reactions to it among first-year medical students. Choice reaction time (CRT) was used to evaluate the cognitive performance of students during stress-free and stress (exam) conditions. Materials and Methods: The study was conducted on 60 healthy first year MBBS students (30 boys and 30 girls) between the age group of 18 and 20 years. Digital reaction time was used. Randomly occurring visual and auditory CRT tasks were presented to students. First set of readings was taken during stress-free period, and the second and third sets were taken 20 min before first and second terminal practical examination, respectively. Results: The readings were analyzed by unpaired Student’s t-test. Results showed that visual and auditory reaction times were increased in both boys and girls with statistically significant difference between boys and girls in stress (exam) condition, but no difference during stress-free condition. Conclusion: The observation shows that girls tend to perceive more stress than boys which might affect the cognitive functions more, as slower reaction time was observed in girls than boys when they were exposed to stress.

Background: There are growing evidences that the damage which is caused to the spermatozoa by the Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS) plays a key role in the male infertility. The seminal plasma is endowed with many enzymatic and nonenzymatic antioxidants which protect the spermatozoa against oxidative stress.The present study was undertaken by using a simple, colourimetric, ferric reducing, antioxidant power for assessing the total antioxidant power rather than the individual antioxidants. The measurement of the individual antioxidants in the seminal plasma, such as Superoxide Dismutase, Vitamin E, etc. is time consuming, which often requires sophisticated and expensive techniques and these measurements may not correlate with the quality of semen. Aim: To evaluate the total antioxidant capacity of seminal plasma by estimating the Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) of semen in different groups of subjects and to correlate it with the different seminogram parameters. Material and Methods: The semen samples were obtained from 150 male partners of infertile couples who attended the Reproductive Biology Unit (Infertility Clinic) of the Department of Physiology, MGIMS, Sevagram, who were aged 20-58 years and they were analyzed for the routine seminogram parameters. All the subjects were categorized into two main groups, A. The subjects with abnormal ejaculates, who were further sub classified into the following groups i) Asthenoteratozoospermics (n=25) ii) Oligoasthenoteratozoospermics (n=26) and iii) Azoospermics (n=19) and B. The subjects with normal ejaculates (n=80). The total antioxidant power was measured spectrophotometrically by using the Ferric Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP) assay. Results: The Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) was found to be significantly lower in the abnormal ejaculates than in the normal ejaculates.
