Low literacy levels are believed to be one of the causes of environmental damage problems. It is felt that the current implementation of the problem-based learning model is still not optimal in increasing students' environmental literacy, especially regarding sustainable issues. This research aims to (1) produce a sustainable issue-based learning model, and (2) test the level of validity and reliability of the model. The research was carried out at Malang State University and PGRI University Semarang involving biology learning experts, educational technology experts, and environmental experts as research subjects. The instrument in this research is an expert validation sheet. Validation results were analyzed using the average score while reliability was analyzed using percentage agreement. The research results show that the development of PBIB syntax including orientation, concept strengthening, observation, investigation, report, and reflection is classified as valid with a score of 3.87, while the reliability is 3.88 (reliable). This research indicates that the PBIB model can be used in learning and potentially increase students' environmental literacy.

Due to the widespread use of the Internet, digital space has now pervaded schools. This study aimed to investigate student-teachers' perspectives and experiences of digital citizenship through project-based learning in a teacher institution in Indonesia. A case study research design was employed using content analysis to analyze the data from semi-structured interviews, observation, and daily journal report. The results showed that technology overuse requires moral guidance in terms of digital citizenship. The student-teachers viewed that digital citizenship provides some principles that encompass knowledge, skills, and appropriate behavior to use technology safely and responsibly. They asserted that digital citizenship is a necessary skill for prospective teachers, particularly considering the growing demand for schools to develop character education programs that address the topic of student technology use. After engaging in digital-issue-driven project-based learning, the student-teachers opined that project-based learning will be beneficial to learners' autonomy engagement in constructing an understanding of the digital world. Project-based learning also provides opportunities for learners to advance and grow digital skills that are relevant to the 21st century within a real-world context. This study has implications for educators, school principals, and policymakers in ensuring that youths access curricula at all grade levels for them to be able to show appropriate and responsible behavior in both online and offline environments.

The surge of information in the digital age has impacted social problems. Accordingly, digital citizenship had been discussed mostly within topics related to digital security, IT education. A systematic review is needed to provide an overview for educators and policymakers in Indonesia to address ethical and technical issues to improve the online environment safely. However, there are limited studies that systematically review the existing literature on implementing digital citizenship in Indonesia. The present study was guided by PRISMA review protocol using three databases, i.e., Scopus, Google Scholars, and ProQuest, concerned with digital citizenship, digital competence, digital literacy, and information and communications technology (ICT) skills. There were 205 articles screened; this study obtained 20 articles that fit the predetermined inclusion criteria. This study used content analysis to encode, organize categories, and develop the themes. Based on the thematic analysis, this study has three main themes namely digital readiness, digital citizenship competencies, and educational policies. This review contributes to the existing literature by providing direction to future study and embedded digital citizenship competencies in the educational setting as a catalyst for a new literacy.

The concept of national identity in the nation-state is influenced by ethno-cultural identity. However, the decline in understanding and awareness among the younger generation in Indonesia has led to a national identity crisis, especially in the border areas. This research becomes a pioneer study investigating the forms and teachers' involvement in strengthening students' national identities at the border areas. The ethnographic approach reveals the depth of teachers' involvement, including students and school communities on the Indonesia-Malaysia border. This study shows that teachers' involvement is mainly through cultural festival activities, in which ethno-cultural identities that contain knowledge of ethnic groups in Indonesia are introduced. The teacher's success brings psychological changes shown in students' awareness and behaviour. This study provides insights and solutions that can be used to reduce the impact of the crisis and reflect views related to national identity. As input, ethno-cultural identity is paramount to strengthen the concept of national identity in the nation-state, especially for the younger generation.

This study explores in-depth information about the formation of pro-environmental behaviour and students' social responsibility through the "Adiwiyata" program in Indonesia. This study employed a qualitative method using observation, interviews, and documentation as the data collection techniques. The study was conducted at a senior high school in Pontianak; participants were the school principal, the "Adiwiyata" builder, the "Adiwiyata" trainer, two teachers, and four students. In contrast to the majority of green schools in Indonesia, the findings of this research show that the implementation of the "Adiwiyata" program at SMA (Senior High School) 8 Pontianak, emphasises solving environmental problems responsibly, shaping student behaviour to be pro-environmental, and becoming environmental cadres. This study is expected to contribute to the formation of students' character to carry out environmental conservation efforts responsible for maintaining green ecology for present and future generations.

Understanding the level of media literacy among college students has become increasingly important amid the spread of disinformation or 'fake news' on social media. Currently, the Internet and social media are used to find information and news to participate in better civic engagement in Indonesia. In this study, we hypothesised that family communication, which consists of conversation orientation and conformity orientation, affects civic engagement among young people. A questionnaire designed to test this hypothesis received 330 valid responses that were analysed using structural equation modelling (SEM) and partial least squares (PLS). The findings showed that media literacy was the most significant predictor of civic engagement. We recommend increased attention to media literacy education in Indonesia, and see scope for similar studies in other democratic societies that have high Internet use.

This research aims to describe the impact of urban farming carried out by Bandung Berkebun community as an attempt to develop the civic virtue in the environmental field. Research method used is a case study with qualitative approach. The results show that this program has educational, economic, social, and ecological impact to the society. This program managed to internalize virtue values in the environmental field through the development of society's skills and intellectuality in the independent environmental governance activity.

This research explores the development of environmental caring character through the Adiwiyata Green School program, with particular reference to a school's inclusive provision for students with special needs. This study used the CIPP (context, input, process, product) evaluation model, including semi-structured interviews, observations and document analyses for data collection. The results illustrate that the program succeeded in disseminating motivation and environmental care to both students with special needs and regular students, providing a foundation for sustainable development. This study contributes to the expansion of theoretical discourse and the practice of character development in environmental care by considering the needs and privileges of students.

Vitamin D has been hypothesized to have a potential role in altering sperm motility and metabolism. However, experimental studies have demonstrated inconsistent results between vitamin D and sperm parameters. This study aims to investigate the role of vitamin D supplementation to improve sperm parameters in infertile men. This is a systematic review and meta-analysis study. We comprehensively conducted a search on ClinicalTrials.gov, IRCT.ir, Europe PMC, and PubMed and collected published studies on vitamin D supplementation and sperm parameters for infertile men. The risk of bias was assessed by using Risk of Bias version 2 (RoB v2) and the statistical analysis was performed by using Review Manager 5.4 software. Five trials with a total of 648 infertile men were included. Our meta-analysis showed that supplementation with vitamin D may significantly improve total sperm motility [mean difference 4.96 (95% CI 0.38, 9.54), p = 0.03, I2 = 69%], progressive sperm motility [mean difference 4.14 (95% CI 0.25, 8.02), p = 0.04, I2 = 89%], and normal sperm morphology [mean difference 0.44 (95% CI 0.30, 0.57), p < 0.00001, I2 = 0%] better than placebo in infertile men. However, total sperm count (p = 0.15), sperm concentration (p = 0.82), and semen volume (p = 0.83) did not differ significantly between two groups. Vitamin D supplementation may improve sperm motility, progressive sperm motility, and morphology in infertile men. Vitamin D supplementation may be considered in managing male fertility issue. Polydactyly is the most common congenital malformation in the limbs. However, it is rare for a patient to exhibit concomitant preaxial and postaxial polydactyly alongside syndactyly in both limbs, and there are limited recommendations for such conditions. This report presents a case of bilateral preaxial and postaxial polydactyly with syndactyly of the feet. A 2-year-old girl was presented with an excess number of toes on both feet and an abnormal connection between the second and third toes. After a physical examination and plain radiography, the patient was diagnosed with bilateral preaxial and postaxial polydactyly with syndactyly. We performed a one-stage surgical correction consisting of ablation at the extra digit of bilateral great and little toes, followed by syndactyly release using z-plasty. The surgery was uneventful, and the parents were satisfied with the result. A plain radiograph is necessary for pre-operative planning. We discarded the excess digits for cosmetics and soft and hard tissue for optimal function. It is necessary to preserve the soft tissues, remove the auxiliary digit, realign the digit, and restore the ligaments to preserve digit stability. The complexity of this case required a meticulous surgical approach to address the structural abnormalities, restore functionality, and improve cosmetic appearance. A fracture-dislocation of the vertebral bone is mostly caused by high-energy trauma. Spondyloptosis is the severest form of spondylolisthesis (>100 %) which affects the sagital or coronal plane from the contiguous vertebral bone. Anterior spondyloptosis is known as fracture-dislocation where the proximal part of the vertebra is located infront of the distal vertebrae. Most cases are associated with spinal cord injury (SCI) and unstable hemodynamics, in this case the vital sign of the patient's tend to be stable. A 21-year-old man had multiple traumas after having a traffic injury, pain and numbness were positive during physical examination, especially in both lower limb. A radiography examination shows that the patient had total spinal cord transection and anterior spondyloptosis in T12 until L1 segment. Additional examinations found minimal renal and liver contusion including the ischemic bowel. The interbody fusion procedure was chosen as our therapeutic modalities. We performed open surgical methods by using interbody fusion modalities usually in patient's with stable vital signs. This intervention could be the priority in managing patients with a rare case of anterior spondyloptosis. A visual analog Scale (VAS) was used for monitoring the degree of pain, and Oswestry Disability Index (ODI) questionnaire for evaluating the outcome for low back pain. In this short paper, we prove that the smartphones connected to the Wi-Fi can be detected (scanned) easily with the help of a Raspberry Pi. To capture the packet which is sent by smartphone for some distance, we used Tshark. According to the observation, the smartphone eventually broadcast some packets data containing MAC layers data, in which the period of broadcasting data depends on the smartphone's state (active scanning/sleep). Besides MAC layers data, we also detect/capture other parameters, i.e., wireless signature data transmitted by smartphone (RSSI) and Time-stamp. The RSSI value measured in this test has a range from -30 dBm to -80 dBm. The result proves in the same distance; different smartphones give different RSSI values (each smartphone emits different power strength). The RSSI value has more significant changes in a short distance (in this test result, 1 to 10 meters) and less significant change in a long distance (above 20 meters). The MAC address, timestamp, and RSSI that scanned/captured successfully through Raspberry Pi from the smartphones can be used as a reference for various purposes/applications in future work, such as Wi-Fi scanning/tracking system. In this report, we perform the digital filter computation using Matlab for Wi-Fi tracking application. This work motivates to improve the accuracy of filter algorithm in the RSSI-based distance localization system. There are several aspects that we can improve, e.g., in the Filter part and Path-loss model. But, in this work, we focus on filter part; Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF) is implemented to replace linear Kalman Filter (KF), which is used in previous work. Based on the performance comparison, UKF has 90% hit ratio while linear KF has only 81.15 % hit ratio. We found that UKF can handle the noise in RSSI. Bamboo is knownas fast-growing plant and can easily be obtained in Bandung. This situation leads bamboo to be material that commonly used for constructing various solid structures with particular strength including violin. It is interesting that bamboo violin has a unique sound quality that differs perceptually from common wooden violin. This research is focused on finding the physical parameters in order to get plausible explanations on that sound difference by conducting vibro-acoustic analysis. An automatic bow-moving machine is developed to provide a highly repeatable bowing strokes upon string. The frequency spectrum analysis is used.A piezoelectric is put on the violin resonator surfaces for recording excitation force of bridge while a microphone is used for recording sound pressure level produced by the resonator. This approach is considered in order to obtain frequency response function of soundbox as ratio of the sound pressure level to the vibration one. It is found that the frequency response function on overtones of both violins are different at mid and high frequencies. Meanwhile, at low frequencies it is seen that the both violins share similar pattern of frequency response function hill peaks. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
