Fuzzy data, prevalent in social sciences and other fields, capture uncertainties arising from subjective evaluations and measurement imprecision. Despite significant advancements in fuzzy statistics, a unified inferential regression-based framework remains undeveloped. Hence, we propose a novel approach for analyzing bounded fuzzy variables within a regression framework. Building on the premise that fuzzy data result from a process analogous to statistical coarsening, we introduce a conditional probabilistic approach that links observed fuzzy statistics (e.g., mode, spread) to the underlying, unobserved statistical model, which depends on external covariates. The inferential problem is addressed using Approximate Bayesian methods, mainly through a Gibbs sampler incorporating a quadratic approximation of the posterior distribution. Simulation studies and applications involving external validations are employed to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach for fuzzy data analysis. By reintegrating fuzzy data analysis into a more traditional statistical framework, this work provides a significant step toward enhancing the interpretability and applicability of fuzzy statistical methods in many applicative contexts., Comment: 22 pages, 7 figures, 3 tables

Random fuzzy variables join the modeling of the impreciseness (due to their ``fuzzy part'') and randomness. Statistical samples of such objects are widely used, and their direct, numerically effective generation is therefore necessary. Usually, these samples consist of triangular or trapezoidal fuzzy numbers. In this paper, we describe theoretical results and simulation algorithms for another family of fuzzy numbers -- LR fuzzy numbers with interval-valued cores. Starting from a simulation perspective on the piecewise linear LR fuzzy numbers with the interval-valued cores, their limiting behavior is then considered. This leads us to the numerically efficient algorithm for simulating a sample consisting of such fuzzy values.

The STS detector in the CBM experiment delivers data via multiple e-links connected to GBTX ASICs. In the process of data aggregation, that data must be received, combined into a smaller number of streams, and packed into so-called microslices containing data from specific periods. The aggregation must consider data randomization due to amplitude-dependent processing time in the FEE ASICs and different occupancy of individual e-links. During the development of the STS readout, the continued progress in the available technology affected the requirements for data aggregation, its architecture, and algorithms. The precise and large dataset concerning catastrophic events is very important for insurers. To improve the quality of such data three methods based on the bootstrap, bootknife, and GAN algorithms are proposed. Using numerical experiments and real-life data, simulated outputs for these approaches are compared based on the mean squared (MSE) and mean absolute errors (MAE). Then, a direct algorithm to construct a fuzzy expert's opinion concerning such outputs is also considered.

The differential cross section for $\gamma p\rightarrow K^+\Lambda(1520)$ was measured from threshold to a centre-of-mass energy of 2090\,MeV at forward angles at the BGOOD experiment. The high statistical precision and resolution in centre-of-mass energy and angle allows a detailed characterisation of this low-momentum transfer kinematic region. The data agree with a previous LEPS measurement and support effective Lagrangian models that indicate that the contact term dominates the cross section near threshold., Comment: 6 pages, 7 figures

The coherent reaction, $\gamma d \rightarrow \pi^0\eta d$ was studied with the BGOOD experiment at ELSA from threshold to a centre-of-mass energy of 3200\,MeV. A full kinematic reconstruction was made, with final state deuterons identified in the forward spectrometer and $\pi^0$ and $\eta$ decays in the central BGO Rugby Ball. The strength of the differential cross section exceeds what can be described by models of coherent photoproduction at forward angles by orders of magnitude. The distribution of the differential cross section has an excellent agreement with a model including quasi-free $\Delta \pi$ photoproduction, pion re-scattering and $N(1535)$ formation and subsequent nucleon coalescence to the deuteron. This also gives a reasonable description of the two-body invariant mass distributions and naturally explains the similar magnitudes of this channel and $\pi^0\pi^0 d$ coherent photoproduction., Comment: 7 pages, 5 figures

The coherent reaction, $\gamma d \rightarrow \pi^0\pi^0 d$ was studied with the BGOOD experiment at ELSA from threshold to a centre-of-mass energy of 2850\,MeV. A full kinematic reconstruction was made, with final state deuterons identified in the forward spectrometer and $\pi^0$ decays in the central BGO Rugby Ball. The strength of the differential cross section exceeds what can be described by models of coherent photoproduction and instead supports the three isoscalar dibaryon candidates reported by the ELPH collaboration at 2.38, 2.47 and 2.63\,GeV/c$^2$. A low mass enhancement in the $\pi^0\pi^0$ invariant mass is also observed at the $d^*(2380)$ centre-of-mass energy which is consistent with the ABC effect. At higher centre-of-mass energies, a narrow peak in the $\pi^0 d$ invariant mass at 2114\,MeV/c$^2$ with a width of 20\,MeV/c$^2$ supports a sequential two-dibaryon decay mechanism., Comment: 8 pages, 10 figures. The Nuclotron-base Ion Collider fAcility (NICA) is under construction at the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research (JINR), with commissioning of the facility expected in late 2022. The Multi-Purpose Detector (MPD) has been designed to operate at NICA and its components are currently in production. The detector is expected to be ready for data taking with the first beams from NICA. This document provides an overview of the landscape of the investigation of the QCD phase diagram in the region of maximum baryonic density, where NICA and MPD will be able to provide significant and unique input. It also provides a detailed description of the MPD set-up, including its various subsystems as well as its support and computing infrastructures. A search for double-beta decay of $^{190}$Pt and $^{198}$Pt with emission of $\gamma$-ray quanta was realized at the HADES underground laboratory with a 148 g platinum sample measured by two ultralow-background HPGe detectors over 8946 h. The isotopic composition of the platinum sample has been measured with high precision using inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. New lower limits for the half-lives of $^{190}$Pt relative to different channels and modes of the decays were set on the level of $\lim T_{1/2}\sim 10^{14}-10^{16}$ yr. A possible exact resonant $0\nu KN$ transition to the 1,2 1326.9 keV level of $^{190}$Os is limited for the first time as $T_{1/2} \geq 2.5 \times10^{16}$ yr. A new lower limit on the double-beta decay of $^{198}$Pt to the first excited level of $^{198}$Hg was set as $T_{1/2} \geq 3.2\times10^{19}$ yr, one order of magnitude higher than the limit obtained in the previous experiment., Comment: 23 pages, 11 figures, 4 tables

The STS-MUCH-XYTER (SMX) chip is a front-end ASIC dedicated to the readout of Silicon Tracking System (STS) and Muon Chamber (MUCH) detectors in the Compressed Baryonic Matter (CBM) experiment. The production of the ASIC and the front-end boards based on it is just being started and requires thorough testing to assure quality. The paper describes the SMX tester based on a standard commercial Artix-7 FPGA module with an additional simple baseboard. In the standalone configuration, the tester is controlled via IPbus and enables full functional testing of connected SMX, front-end board (FEB), or a full detector module. The software written in Python may easily be integrated with higher-level testing software.

The GBTX ASIC is a standard solution for providing fast control and data readout for radiation detectors used in HEP experiments. However, it is subject to export control restrictions due to the usage of radiation-hard technology. An FPGA-based GBTX emulator (GBTxEMU) has been developed to enable the development of GBT-based readout chains in countries where the original GBTX cannot be imported. Thanks to utilizing a slightly modified GBT-FGPA core, it maintains basic compatibility with standard GBT-based systems. The differential cross section for the quasi-free photoproduction reaction $\gamma n\rightarrow K^0\Sigma^0$ was measured at BGOOD at ELSA from threshold to a centre-of-mass energy of 2400 MeV. Close to threshold the results are consistent with existing data and are in agreement with partial wave analysis solutions over the full measured energy range, with a large coupling to the $\Delta$(1900)1/2- evident. This is the first dataset covering the K* threshold region, where there are model predictions of dynamically generated vector meson-baryon resonance contributions., Comment: 6 pages, 8 figures

$K^+\Lambda(1405)$ photoproduction has been studied at the BGOOD experiment via the all neutral decay, $\Lambda(1405)\rightarrow\Sigma^0\pi^0$. The unique BGOOD experimental setup allows both the cross section and $\Lambda(1405)$ invariant mass distribution (line shape) to be measured over a broad $K^+$ polar angle range, extending to extreme forward $K^+$ angles unattainable at previous experiments. Evidence is provided for the role of a triangle singularity driven by the $N^*(2030)$ resonance, which appears to contribute significantly to $K^+\Lambda(1405)$ photoproduction. This is observed in both the angular distributions and the integrated cross section which was determined with unprecedented energy resolution. The measured line shape is also in agreement with the previous results of CLAS and ANKE, and is consistent with two poles derived in $\chi$PT based models.

We propose Mobile Audio Streaming Networks (MASnet) for efficient low-latency speech enhancement, which is particularly suitable for mobile devices and other applications where computational capacity is a limitation. MASnet processes linear-scale spectrograms, transforming successive noisy frames into complex-valued ratio masks which are then applied to the respective noisy frames. MASnet can operate in a low-latency incremental inference mode which matches the complexity of layer-by-layer batch mode. Compared to a similar fully-convolutional architecture, MASnet incorporates depthwise and pointwise convolutions for a large reduction in fused multiply-accumulate operations per second (FMA/s), at the cost of some reduction in SNR., Comment: Accepted for INTERSPEECH 2020

In this paper we introduce StoRIR - a stochastic room impulse response generation method dedicated to audio data augmentation in machine learning applications. This technique, in contrary to geometrical methods like image-source or ray tracing, does not require prior definition of room geometry, absorption coefficients or microphone and source placement and is dependent solely on the acoustic parameters of the room. The method is intuitive, easy to implement and allows to generate RIRs of very complicated enclosures. We show that StoRIR, when used for audio data augmentation in a speech enhancement task, allows deep learning models to achieve better results on a wide range of metrics than when using the conventional image-source method, effectively improving many of them by more than 5 %. The BGO-OD experiment at the University of Bonn's ELSA accelerator facility in Germany is ideally suited to investigate photoproduction at extreme forward angles. It combines a highly segmented BGO electromagnetic calorimeter at central angles and an open dipole magnetic spectrometer in the forward direction. This allows the detection of forward going kaons, and complex final states of mixed charge from hyperon decays. Since the discovery of the $\Lambda(1405)$, it remains poorly described by conventional constituent quark models, and it is a candidate for having an "exotic" meson-baryon or "penta-quark" structure, similar to states recently reported in the hidden charm sector. The $\Lambda(1405)$ can be produced in the reaction $\gamma p \rightarrow K^+\Lambda(1405)$. The pure I=0 decay mode into $\Sigma^0\pi^0$ is prohibited for the mass-overlapping $\Sigma(1385)$. Combining a large aperture forward magnetic spectrometer and a central BGO crystal calorimeter, the BGO-OD experiment is ideally suited to measure this decay with the $K^+$ in the forward direction. The BGO-OD experiment at the ELSA accelerator facility uses an energy tagged bremsstrahlung photon beam to investigate the excitation structure of the nucleon. The setup consists of a highly segmented BGO calorimeter surrounding the target, with a particle tracking magnetic spectrometer at forward angles. BGO-OD is ideal for investigating low momentum transfer processes due to the acceptance and high momentum resolution at forward angles. In particular, this enables the investigation of strangeness photoproduction where t-channel exchange mechanisms play an important role. This also allows access to low momentum exchange kinematics where extended, molecular structure may manifest in reaction mechanisms. First key results at low $t$ indicate a cusp-like structure in $K^+\Sigma^0$ photoproduction at $W = 1900$\,MeV, line shapes and differential cross sections for $K^+\Lambda$(1405)$\rightarrow K^+\Sigma^0\pi^0$, and a peak structure in $K^0_S\Sigma^0$ photoproduction. The peak in the $K^0_S\Sigma^0$ channel appears consistent with meson-baryon generated states, where equivalent models have been used to describe the $P_C$ pentaquark candidates in the heavy charmed quark sector., Comment: Proceedings of The 12th International Workshop on the Physics of Excited Nucleons (NSTAR 2019)

The $\gamma p \rightarrow K^+\Sigma^0$ differential cross section at extremely forward angles was measured at the BGOOD experiment. A three-quarter drop in strength over a narrow range in energy and a strong dependence on the polar angle of the $K^+$ in the centre-of-mass of the reaction is observed at a centre-of-mass energy of 1900\,MeV. $\gamma p \rightarrow K^+ \Lambda$ differential cross sections and recoil polarisation data from threshold for extremely forward angles are presented. The measurements were performed at the BGOOD experiment at ELSA, utilising the high angular and momentum resolution forward spectrometer for charged particle identification. The BGOOD experiment at the ELSA facility in Bonn has been commissioned within the framework of an international collaboration. The experiment pursues a systematic investigation of non-strange and strange meson photoproduction, in particular $t$-channel processes at low momentum transfer. The setup uniquely combines a central almost $4\pi$ acceptance BGO crystal calorimeter with a large aperture forward magnetic spectrometer providing excellent detection of both neutral and charged particles, complementary to other setups such as Crystal Barrel, Crystal Ball, LEPS and CLAS., Comment: 26 pages, 37 figures

A new symbolic algorithmic implementation of the functional-discrete (FD-) method is developed and justified for the solution of fourth order Sturm--Liouville problem on a finite interval in the Hilbert space. The eigenvalue problem for the fourth order ordinary differential equation with polynomial coefficients is investigated. The sufficient conditions of an exponential convergence rate of the proposed approach are received. The obtained estimates of the absolute errors of FD-method significantly improve the accuracy of the estimates obtained earlier by I.P~Gavrilyuk, V.L.~Makarov and A.M.~Popov in 2010. Our algorithm is symbolic and operates with the decomposition coefficients of the eigenfunction corrections in some basis. The number of summands in these decompositions depends on the degree of the potential coefficients and the correction number. Our method uses only the algebraic operations and basic operations on $(2\times 1)$ column vectors and $(2\times 2)$ matrices. The proposed approach does not require solving any boundary value problems and computations of any integrals, unlike the previous variants of FD-method by I.P.~Gavrilyuk, V.L.~Makarov, A.M.~Popov and N.M.~Romaniuk in 2010 and 2017. The corrections to eigenpairs are computed exactly as analytical expressions, and there are no rounding errors. The numerical examples illustrate the theoretical results. A new algorithm for eigenvalue problems for the fractional Jacobi type ODE is proposed. The algorithm is based on piecewise approximation of the coefficients of the differential equation with subsequent recursive procedure adapted from some homotopy considerations. As a result, the eigenvalue problem (which is in fact nonlinear) is replaced by a sequence of linear boundary value problems (besides the first one) with a singular linear operator called the exact functional discrete scheme (EFDS). A finite subsequence of $m$ terms, called truncated functional discrete scheme (TFDS), is the basis for our algorithm. The approach provides an super-exponential convergence rate as $m \to \infty$. The eigenpairs can be computed in parallel for all given indexes. The algorithm is based on some recurrence procedures including the basic arithmetical operations with the coefficients of some expansions only. This is an exact symbolic algorithm (ESA) for $m=\infty$ and a truncated symbolic algorithm (TSA) for a finite $m$. Numerical examples are presented to support the theory., Comment: 15 pages
