Aim: The aim of this paper is to share the initial experiences on a European Union (EU) Lifelong Learning Programme Leonardo Da Vinci Transfer of Innovation Project related to the use of simulation-based learning with nursing students from Turkey. The project started at the end of the 2010 involving 7 partners from 3 different countries including Turkey, England, and Italy. Methods: This project is divided into 7 work packages (WP). In this paper, experiences from the first three WPs (WP1: Preparation and dissemination of the project. WP2: Regulation of the project management. WP3: Development of the evaluation tools used to evaluate the impact of the innovative practice within the coordinating partner's institution) are shared. Results: In the WP1 and WP2: the kick-off meeting was organized in Turkey, the coordinating partner's country. During the meeting project-related events were planned and the steering committee of the project was formed. A strong team spirit within the partnership was established. For the dissemination of the project, a poster and flier of the project were prepared and placed on corporate boards visible to students and teaching staff and put on the partners' institutional websites. Regular bulletins of the project were also prepared and posted on the project website. In the WP3, student data sheet, items for students' satisfaction questionnaire and confidence scale were created based on the literature. Trauma patient scenarios (abdominal trauma, thoracic trauma, pelvic fracture and traumatic amputation) were created to test the target group's knowledge. Ethical approval was obtained from the coordinating partner institution. A pilot study to test the cases was conducted. Following the pilot study, the final version of the student data sheet and scenario cases was created. The second meeting was organized in Italy. In this meeting, the results of the pilot study, the scenario cases, and the Patient Intervention Self Confidence/Competence Scale were evaluated. Conclusion: The work on this EU project is still in progress. Considering that learning from experience is an important part of nursing education, sharing experiences on such a project related to using simulation as an innovative teaching strategy in nursing education in Turkey should provide an example to others who want to develop other EU projects in nursing education.

We have reported the wavelengths, transition probabilities (or rates), oscillator strengths, and line strengths for forbidden transitions (electric quadrupole, E2, and magnetic dipole, M1) in doubly and triply ionized krypton, xenon, and radon using the general-purpose relativistic atomic structure package (GRASP). The results obtained from transitions between the levels of ground state configuration are in agreement with other available results in the literature. The data on forbidden transitions between high levels for these ions have been firstly presented in this work. Newly graduated nurses typically face death for the first time during the transition to their professional careers. This encounter can cause nurses to experience compelling emotions and make it difficult for them to manage and cope with the process of adaptation to the profession and the death process of the patient. This study aims to retrospectively examine and reveal the first death experiences of newly graduated nurses (N = 15) using a retrospective phenomenological method. Analysis of the responses of the newly graduated nurses revealed three themes: first encounter with death, nothing is like before, and support need. Newly graduated nurses realized that their first death experiences change their perspectives on life and profession and that nursing touches human life. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

We have reported atomic data including energies and electric dipole (E1) transition parameters, such as wavelengths, transition probabilities (or rates), and weighted oscillator strengths, for Na-like and Mg-like mercury ([Hg.sup.69+] and [Hg.sup.68+]) using the AUTOSTRUCTURE atomic code, which includes Breit and quantum electrodynamics effects as well as correlation developed by Badnell. We have compared our results with the available theoretical results in the literature. Also, we have presented new results where no other theoretical and experimental results are available. Using the general-purpose relativistic atomic structure package (GRASP) based on a fUlly relativistic multiconfiguration Dirac-Fock (MCDF) method, the transition parameters, such as transition rates (probabilities), oscillator strengths, and line strengths for the electric dipole transitions between low-lying levels are evaluated for doubly ionized krypton, xenon, and radon. Breit interactions for relativistic effects and quantum electrodynamical (QED) contributions besides valence and valence-core correlation effects are taken into account in calculations. We compare the results obtained with the available data in the literature and discuss them, when possible. Aims and Objectives: This study aimed at determining the perception of fatigue among patients with a history of the coronavirus disease (COVID‐19). Background: Fatigue is a long‐lasting distressing symptom. It is a multidimensional symptom consisting of several factors, including physiological, psychological, social and environmental. It is vital to examine and understand the perception of fatigue among post‐COVID‐19 participants. Design: A descriptive phenomenological design. Methods: The study sample consisted of 14 post‐COVID‐19 participants that were recruited using criterion sampling. The fatigue levels of the participants were determined using the Chalder Fatigue Scale (CFS), and those with a fatigue score above 12 were interviewed. All the interviews were conducted with a smartphone due to the COVID‐19. The COnsolidated criteria for REporting Qualitative research (COREQ) checklist was used. Results: The age of the participants varied from 24 to 67 years, with the majority of the participants being female (n = 8). The COVID‐19 duration ranged from one to 11 months, and the CFS scores varied between 14 and 33. Four themes emerged following the qualitative data analysis: a new symptom beyond fatigue, fatigue increases dependency in daily life, fatigue impedes sociability and a way to hold on to life's regular rhythms. Conclusions: This study concluded that fatigue in post‐COVID‐19 participants is a new experience that is difficult to define and manage and overwhelmingly affects the physical and social aspects of life. Participants look for new ways to live with fatigue and turn to traditional methods and psychosocial strategies. Relevance to clinical practice: This study revealed the miscellaneous aspects of fatigue in post‐COVID‐19 participants. Nurses should evaluate fatigue with a holistic approach that includes its physical, social, emotional and spiritual aspects. We have reported energies and electric dipole transition parameters, such as transition probabilities, oscillator strengths, line strengths, and wavelengths for Na-like gold ([Au.sup.68+], Z = 79) using AUTOSTRUCTURE atomic code. Calculations include Breit and QED contributions besides correlation effects. A few of the results have been compared with available theoretical and experimental results in the literature. Our atomic structure data for sodium-like gold are in good agreement with others. Also we have presented new results for electric dipole transitions in sodium-like gold. Aims and Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the effects of socioeconomic‐, patient‐, treatment‐, condition‐ and health system‐related factors on medication adherence in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Background: Medication adherence is essential for the management of chronic diseases. The World Health Organization created a Multidimensional Adherence Model (MAM) and showed that medication adherence is affected by a combination of numerous factors. Design: A descriptive correlational study was conducted. Methods: A total of 114 patients with COPD were included. Data were collected on five dimensions based on the MAM framework. Medication adherence, self‐efficacy and symptoms were evaluated using the Adherence to Refills and Medications Scale‐7 (ARMS‐7), COPD Self‐Efficacy Scale (CSES) and COPD Assessment Test (CAT), respectively. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics, correlational statistics and structural equation modelling. The STROBE checklist was used. Results: The ARMS‐7 scores were associated with the body mass index of patients (F = 4.245, p =.017), smoke pack‐years (r =.277, p =.004) and the CSES total score (β = –0.249, p =.002) in patient‐related factors. The ARMS‐7 score was not associated with socio‐economic and health system‐related factors. The ARMS‐7 score showed a significant correlation between COPD diagnosis duration (r = −.276, p =.003) and the total number of drugs (r = −.215, p =.022) in treatment‐related factors. The ARMS‐7 scores were associated with the number of comorbid illnesses of patients with COPD in condition‐related factors (F = 3.533, p =.033). Conclusion: This study showed that medication adherence in COPD was mostly affected by patient‐, treatment‐ and condition‐related factors. Relevance to clinical practice: Healthcare professionals should establish training and counselling programs to increase the medication adherence level of patients, particularly for patients who are newly diagnosed, require multiple drugs and have comorbid diseases or low self‐efficacy.
