In 2019, educators at Beehive Montessori School (Beehive) in Western Australia implemented their self-defined digital literacies framework. The framework guided their approach to, and use of, digital technologies in their classrooms. Doing so came out of a whole school action research project in which the school became a hub for inquiry and educators, and researchers worked together to identify issues and develop improvement processes. At the project conclusion, the educators and researchers had collaboratively defined a solution that met the mandated curriculum needs and fitted with the school autonomy. Most importantly the project and the solution empowered educators, as it aligned with the school-identified virtues and utilized the three-period lesson to teach it, all of which was consistent with Montessori pedagogy.

Urothelial carcinoma (UC) occurs uncommonly in cats and no association has previously been observed with long‐term indwelling urinary implants. An 18‐year‐old male castrated domestic shorthair cat initially was presented for hematuria, leading to the diagnosis of a right‐sided ureterolithiasis and severe pyelectasia on ultrasound examination, prompting right‐sided subcutaneous ureteral bypass (SUB) device placement. The cat subsequently had intermittent hematuria and dysuria, without ultrasonographic abnormality of the bladder or positive urine culture. Thirteen months later the patient developed refractory lower urinary tract signs, azotemia, a proliferative mass in the region of the cystostomy tube component of the SUB device and evidence of left ureteral obstruction. Cystostomy tube revision and left‐sided SUB device placement were performed, as well as a partial cystectomy for removal of the mass. Upon histopathology, the mass was diagnosed as a UC. To our knowledge, UC associated with a long‐term indwelling cystostomy catheter component of a SUB device has not been reported in veterinary medicine. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In 1961 the Italian nation-state celebrated one hundred years of unification with an official celebration held in the northern capital of Turin. Named Italia '61, the purpose of the event was to display what comprised and composed a united Italy in 1961 and to showcase what was bringing about a post-war Italian 'renascence'. However, the 1961 celebration could not deliver the new beginning hoped for, as in the tradition of previous celebrations the organisers presented a narrative of the nation that was in support of the party and administration in power and in service of their geopolitical interests. Such intent and purpose become clear by looking at the evolution of the planning of what began as a solitary celebration specific to Turin and became the official national commemoration event for the 1961 Centennial.

The effects of the immunosuppressant Cyclosporin A (CsA) on T cell activation in vivo and in vitro were examined using the monoclonal antibody, anti-Tac, for interleukin 2 (IL-2) receptors and 3.9C2, for a peptide fragment of human IL-2. Peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) were stimulated with PHA in the presence of CsA. The expression of IL-2 receptors and production of IL-2 were reduced. PBL from CsA-treated MS patients had significantly lower proportions of Tac+ cells compared with untreated patients. This inhibition was not reflected in the CSF lymphocyte populations from CsA-treated patients and indicates the urgent need for an immunosuppressant drug which can enter the CNS in sufficient concentrations to inhibit local T cell activation.
