In this paper, we present a comparison between the PyTorch and TensorFlow environments, used in defining neural networks. The purpose is to find whether the choice of a library affects the overall performance of the system both during training and design. To do so, our approach involves analysis of the processes involved when creating a neural network, as well as taking measurements and monitoring its evolution over the epochs. Advantages and disadvantages are then extracted from the results and are then used to draw conclusions.

In this article, we compare LabVIEW, Matlab, and Python in the scope of data acquisition. We built a simple sine wave generator and used the USB-6361 multifunctional I/O device from NI to measure. We will measure the differences in execution times between LabVIEW, MATLAB, and the Python applications to observe their differences.

It is known that the demand for faster and better applications and tools has increased nowadays. JavaScript frameworks come with a helpful hand in terms of popularity, easy-to-use, and integration, using new technology to favour developer and user. It is probably the manager's choice which framework is the best for his project. Nevertheless, two main JavaScript frameworks will be compared in this analysis: Vue.js and React.js.

To-do list applications are beneficial for anyone who wants to manage and organize his program efficiently, without forgetting things, especially the important ones. JavaScript Frameworks give a helping hand in terms of popularity, easy-to-use, and integration, using new technology in favour of the developer and user. In this paper, we will compare two main JavaScript frameworks: Angular and Vue.js.

This paper presents different PHP-based frameworks used for building robust, enterprise-level web applications. The paper focuses on the main features of the two frameworks, and then analyze some of the advantages and disadvantages of using each of them. DotKernel is a custom concept built by Apidemia, mainly used internally but present in the open-source environment. It is a collection of middleware applications built on top of the Zend Expressive microframework, implementing customized versions of some of the Zend Framework components. Symfony is also a concept consisting of a web application framework, a set of reusable, heavily used PHP components, and a community sharing a common philosophy.

Patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), dependent on mechanical ventilation, need the best care, from hospitalization to discharge and even later. Different tools are needed in different stages of therapy. The variability and diversity of therapy tools clearly improve decisions in clinical practice as well as treatments. This article presents the design of a device for mechanical ventilation of patients in intensive care units. The ventilator presented will be intended for use on patients requiring sedation and intubation, ensuring mechanical ventilation and monitoring of vital functions of patients.

This paper presents the main disadvantages of receipts printed on thermal paper, underlining the impact that BPA (component of thermal paper) has on the environment and human health. The conceptual solution proposes to use the near-field communication (NFC) protocol available in smartphones, integrating a virtual receipt printing device (called e-receipt) at the end of the contactless payment chain.

This paper presents the influence of the grinding percentage on some electrical properties, when the process of injection is used in the production of technical commodities, made of polyamide 6.6 (PA 6.6), polyoxymethylene (POM) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), for different industries. The specimens produced had the following compositions: new material 100%, new material 80% + grinding 20%, new material 60% + grinding 40%, new material 40% + grinding 60%, new material 20% + grinding 80% and 100% grinding. The measurement of the electrical properties was carried out using the methods for the determination of relative permittivity and of the dielectric dissipation factor, with the method of zero by Schering bridge. It was found that increasing the percentage of grinding in samples, from 0% to 100%, determined a slight increase in the values of relative permittivity at all three polymers tested and the increase of measurement frequencies for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene and polyoxymethylene led to insignificant changes in the values of relative permittivity, while in the case of polyamide, increasing the measurement frequency led to a slight decrease in the values of relative permittivity. It was also found that increasing the proportion of grinding in the specimens, from 0% to 100%, determined a slight increase in the values of the dielectric dissipation factor in the case of polyamide and polyoxymethylene, while in the case of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene increasing the percentage of grinding in the samples resulted in insignificant changes. The increase in the measurement frequencies for the three tested polymers resulted in a decrease in the values of the dielectric dissipation factor.

This paper analyses the influence of processing temperatures of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), polyamide 6.6 (PA 6.6) and polyoxymethylene (POM) on some electrical properties when injecting items used in the automotive industry. The ABS specimens were made at the following injection temperatures: 220, 230, 240 and 250�C. The PA 6.6 specimens were made at the following injection temperatures: 280, 290, 300, 310 and 320�C. The POM specimens were made at the following injection temperatures: 180, 190, 200, and 210�C. The determination of electrical properties were carried out using the methods for determining the relative permittivity and the dielectric dissipation factor using zero method with Schering bridge. It was found in the three polymers analysed that the temperature rise processing by injection leads to insignificant changes in relative permittivity (er) and dielectric dissipation factor (tgd).

Information science has played an important role in computer science education in the last decades. The design of storing, retrieving and interacting with information is an obligatory part in development of numerous online services in our era. Therefore, many parts of information science are elementary components in the majors’ curricula in computer science education. In this paper, we focus on a course on Information Architecture where students were introduced to the basics of information science. During the course, MaxWhere – an online virtual reality collaborative service – was used as a framework. In our research, our main goal was to develop the students’ cognitive processes. The students’ main task was to design and develop ehealth services in virtual reality (VR) environment for impressing and persuading their future target audience to live a more environmentally conscious life or to live healthier. In this paper, we present some results of this experimental research: Students were motivated to create and design an inclusive project together that needed more work and knowledge from them than it had been planned. They were motivated to collaborate with their groupmates and a self-driven collaborative workflow was developed. They had to learn about the MaxWhere 3D VR system, and at the same time, they had to start to do research on their own projects. After a while, they found gaps in their designs that they wanted to fill in. As a consequence, the students had to deal with some theory and practice of marketing, e.g., they had to deal and work with buyer personas, with some other marketing aspects, and – of course – with some important parts of information science. They had to imagine their future customers and to develop VR environments for them that could have an impact on the users’ behavior and lives. The design and development process resulted in and showed development in the students’ cognitive processes.

In this paper we will present a comparative study of the analog and digital operation of miniature railway systems. Both operation modes are largely used for the operation of miniature model trains, and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. Modern miniature trains, also known as “model trains”, are now designed and built with state-of-the-art technologies. Due to their very complex internal structure, the model trains are to be treated as miniature robots and to be operated with great care, according to their specific requirements. It is possible to use the analog system with digital trains and vice versa, but it is advised to avoid such situations in order to attain optimal operation and experience.

The goal of this paper is to find out what are the steps in developing an application, the difficulty of it and future improvements. With this occasion, we chose to develop a weather application. A weather application is a very handy one, with daily usability and can be constantly updated to fit certain needs. Many people now rely on data directly from their smartphones and the weather forecast is something indispensable to have. The most commonly used development environment is Android Studio, the all in one developing tool which ensures full control on the application development.

This paper presents some aspects of modeling and simulating of the inductive heating process for the thermal treatment (tempering) applied to workpiece. The simulation was performed in order to study the process of induction heating a workpiece, using two specialized software. Both commercial software, Flux2D and FEMM are based on the finite element method.

This article presents a low-cost equipment used for surface scanning. The proposed scanner uses the ultrasound technique. There are several types of devices for scanning using the ultrasound technique, such as sonar or the echography. The solution proposed in this paper it is intendent to be low cost and differs from other scanning possibilities through the presentation of the results, the scanning mode and the introduction of the scan error correction

This paper refers to the extraction of pumpkin seed oil using two processes, namely the extraction of volatile oils by cold pressing and hot pressing, and in the last process it will be pointed out the extraction of volatile oils using microwaves. Pumpkin seeds will be selected, each experimental sample will be weighed, and, from the observed samples thus obtained, we will notice the physicochemical properties of the extracted oil. To avoid the occurrence of phenomena that would affect the integrity of the microwave generator, the system will operate in pulses using an adjustable power magnetron

This paper presents the results of the numerical modeling of the induction heating process using two commercial software. It also analyses the results of simulations performed with the help of the two commercial software, i.e. Flux2D and FEMM 4.2, for the tempering process of a semifinished product.
