This study explores attitudes towards urban air mobility (UAM) for e-commerce deliveries. UAM, which utilizes drones, has the potential to revolutionize transport services and logistics, leading to economic benefits and reductions in congestion and pollution. However, public acceptance is crucial for a successful implementation; thus, understanding the people’s perspective is key. Descriptive statistics were employed to evaluate survey results from three different European regions, followed by a cluster analysis to define potential user profiles. This study revealed slightly different perceptions towards UAM between the analyzed regions, but also a generally positive attitude. The most important expected identified benefits from UAM were a decrease in congestion and pollution in city centers. High-acceptance segments are gender-balanced and correspond mostly to active population and frequent online shoppers that perceive value in drone deliveries, especially related to an increased convenience and speed. They support public investment in UAM and are willing to pay more for these services and to have their home flown over. Opposite attitudes were expressed by low-acceptance segments, which are female-dominated and include mostly non-frequent online shoppers. The identified user profiles in this study can support the development of public policy and marketing strategies to increase acceptance and adoption.

This abstract proposes to present the responsible and sustainable mining case study of a Portuguese mine operation, highlighting how mine exploitation can sustainably exist in balance with the environment, aligned with all stakeholders. The mining operation is remotely located in a United Nations (UN) biodiversity reserve, away from major industrial centres or logistical ports in Portugal, and presents an interesting investigation to assess the balanced operation of SOMINCOR in alignment with all key stakeholders which presents unique opportunities as well as challenges. The objective of the Dissertation was to verify how sustainable practices are incorporated in the mining operation, assess how implementation of the sustainability strategy demonstrates acceptance and trust of local communities, and highlight lessons learned that can be applied in other mining operations or similar contexts, given that no publication including a mining operation in Portugal was found that address the subject.

This work aims to describe and analyze the current tactics for the transmission of innovative values and understand what else can be bet to encourage more students to follow their own careers as entrepreneurs and innovators, knowing the challenges of the market and being equipped with all the skills to know and overcome the obstacles that may arise. Innovation has been debated and evaluated as the engine that leverages the evolution of goods and services. It is also the inspiration and nourishment of Entrepreneurship. Side by side, they struggle to reshape the mentality and functioning of society. The role of higher education in promoting this innovative activity, which aims, nothing more or less, to stimulate the evolution towards a knowledge-based society, is highly important and deserves to be studied. Higher education institutions have long actively contributed with all their studies and training to do more, but the promotion of innovation and entrepreneurship in the students themselves has only intensified in recent years. How can they open the door to more practical opportunities so that students are not instructed only in theory is a challenge. The focus on partnerships has been increasingly valued, namely with the industry itself or the generalized market, and also with the collaboration of research centres. From these synergies, a triangular scheme results which holds not only the bearers, but also the transmitters of knowledge at the vertices, and their interaction has several aspects to consider.

O sistema de microtransações tem sido um dos aspetos mais falados no que toca aos videojogos que foram recentemente lançados, na qual têm trazido uma diversa controvérsia entre a sua monetização para com os seus consumidores. Com esta dissertação pretende-se criar um esquema de microtransação que consiga monetizar um jogo de maneira que este seja equilibrado e justo para os diferentes tipos de consumidor, mas ao mesmo tempo trazer benefícios para as empresas que o praticam. The microtransaction system has been one of the most talked about aspects of video games that have been recently released, in which they have brought a diverse controversy between their monetization towards their consumers. With this dissertation we intend to create a microtransaction scheme that can monetize a game in a way that it is balanced and fair for different types of consumers, but at the same time bring benefits to the companies that practice it.

O presente trabalho desenvolve-se no âmbito do Mestrado em Multimédia, especialização Cultura e Artes, onde exploramos o ecossistema Média Arte nas ramificações de taxonomia, exposição e arquivo nos seus desenvolvimentos mais recentes e nos paralelos que encontram com antecedentes de todo o século XX. Na ligação histórica e contextual destas conjunturas deu-se especial atenção à literatura produzida que se debruça nestas condições que permitiu apresentar os pontos discutidos por ela e evoluções de conceito e problemas propostos ou contrariados. Como correspondente ao acima debruçado, analisa-se o caso de estudo do espaço gnration do ponto de vista comparativo com as práticas discutidas na literatura. Onde se procurou aferir as estratégias utilizadas e aquelas que se pensa adoptar no futuro, e o seu acordo com a discussão teórica e suas contribuições para ela mesma. Pontos discutidos directamente com os envolvidos e com o material que disponibilizam à comunidade. The present work is developed in the scope of the master's degree in Multimedia, specialization in Culture and Arts. It explores the Media Art ecosystem's ramifications of taxonomy, exhibition and archive on its most recent developments and the parallels it found along the entire twentieth century. Special attention has been given to the historical and contextual connection of these terms to the literature dealing with these subjects that enabled us to present the points discussed by them and concept evolutions, and problems raised or countered. In correspondence with the above, the gnration case study is analyzed from a comparative point of view with the practices discussed in the literature. We have tried to gauge the strategies used and those planned to be adopted in the future, and their agreement with the theoretical discussion and their contributions to it. Points are directly discussed with those involved and with the material they provide to the community.

Immersive Educational Escape Room (IEER) can be a tool for teachers to use in their teaching methods because it is adaptable to any type of topic, theme, difficulty, objective, and many other parametrized factors. These factors allow students to immerse themselves in an activity that can induce learning content in a learning process with less frustrating and boring feelings. A technique for the IEER procedural modeling was developed through procedural content generation (PCG) methods, which were applied by using Houdini as its main software to propel the project forward. PCG methods function as a way to simplify the complex methodology that is required to create a game. It also works to automatically generate new assets that can make the experience unique each time the game is played. We chose Houdini as the main engine in the makings of this project because it is fully procedural software with a friendly learning curve, capable of generating any type of procedural assets, from single models to a whole set consisting of many elements. The implementation of this software began by understanding its main features, followed by adapting the collected information and techniques to target aspects in the construction of the Escape Room. The prototype achieved resulted from a methodology consisting of many iterations, each one to increase its flexibility and adaptability. Also, in the makings of this prototype, some limitations were faced regarding permission to fully utilize Houdini to link with Unity in order to explore the capabilities of syncing these two platforms fully. Further difficulties appeared when the group selected to help in the makings of this project failed to maintain solid cooperation, resulting in delays and rough decisions. Nonetheless, the conclusion of a low-fidelity tool to procedurally generate a division was achieved. This low-fidelity tool functions as a controller that manipulates the division, non-architectural assets, its contents, layout, and overall looks so that it can function as an everchanging method to generate new divisions for all types of purposes. In conclusion, to generate an educational tool such as an IEER, it is needed a deep understanding of what drives the player to seek further knowledge by embracing the methods applied in the gamified didactic exercise. This project proves to be a decisive tool for teachers and educational purposes due to its flexibility and adaptation properties.
