A theoretical model for the evaluation of social performance is proposed, the purpose of which is to assess the social practices carried out by associative production organizations in order to obtain useful information that contributes to decision-making and helps to achieve the planned objectives. It was conceived as a result of the analysis of the evolution of the evaluation of cooperative social performance at the international and local levels. The model establishes premises, sets out its objective, is based on the principles of the Popular and Solidarity Economy, employs Good Living, system, process, evidence and continuous improvement approaches. It develops the general framework of its management components, which are planning, evaluation, improvement, follow-up and information. It also serves as a methodological tool, as it sets out the phases to be followed for its implementation and adoption by the members of the organization. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A National Innovation System (NIS) supposes updated, continuous, and collaborative work between different agents, so the value chain approach fits perfectly with this NIS conception. The sector selected to illustrate our proposal is the biotechnological industry because of its structure in technology-based companies and its contributions to de Cuban GDP. This is the first research that works in a proposition of NIS for Cuba. The objective of this paper is to suggest a NIS for Cuba based on the value chain of its biotechnological industry. We follow a benchmarking methodology. First, we analyze nine international NIS experiences from developed and developing countries. Then, we highlight several items to be applied to the Cuban proposed NIS by analyzing five indicators: regulations, technology and innovation policies, financial systems, business activities, and research and education systems. The proposed NIS shows links between funding, production, service, and scientific sectors based on the biotechnological industry. It is considered beneficial for the three most important actors in a nation (companies, government, and society) because it allows a profitable and durable solution for economic and social troubles. The development of this, in a situation propitiated by a capitalist system in constant progress, motivated the emergence of different forms of business organizations to the extent that personal interest in using natural resources to satisfy their needs grew. The understanding of the term logistics underlies as an expression of the cycle that must follow the flow of raw materials from their supply, production, distribution and consumption. Es por ello que resulta fundamental la determinación de conjunto de aspectos que caracterizan el perfil de cada uno de los negociadores comerciales. Aun cuando en la literatura pueden encontrarse algunos trabajos que abordan los elementos que deben caracterizar a los negociadores, estos presentan un enfoque genérico basado fundamentalmente en las habilidades que deben poseer los mismos, pero adolecen de un enfoque integrador que agrupe aspectos como las características formativas y los elementos del individuo que condicionan su desempeño como negociador. En este artículo se presenta un análisis sobre los elementos que caracterizan el perfil de los negociadores y el rol que desempeña la inteligencia emocional en el proceso negociador., In the area of international trade, the first element to take into account in order to carry out a successful negotiation is the reflection on the relationship between the profile of the entity's negotiator and the culture of the negotiators involved in the process, in order to determine the points of divergence and contact between them. In the contemporary world, knowledge is increasingly becoming a fundamental element for development processes, which has been transforming the role of universities in their links with society. In this context, the participation of the government, as well as of the industry, becomes equally relevant, giving rise to diverse models of linkage between all these actors. Taking into account the above, the present work has as its fundamental purpose the systematization, from the theoretical-methodological and historical point of view, of the conceptual bases for the university-industry-government linkage, as well as of the linking models derived from the international experience. Both topics are addressed in the two sections that make up the article., En el mundo contemporáneo, cada vez con mayor fuerza, el conocimiento se convierte en un elemento fundamental para los procesos de desarrollo, lo cual ha ido transformando el rol de las universidades en sus vínculos con la sociedad. En este contexto, la participación del gobierno, así como del sistema empresarial, se torna igualmente relevante, dando lugar a diversos modelos de vinculación entre todos estos actores. Teniendo en cuenta lo anterior, el presente trabajo tiene como propósito fundamental la sistematización, desde el punto de vista teórico-metodológico e histórico, de las bases conceptuales para la vinculación universidad-empresa-gobierno, así como de los modelos de vinculación derivados de la experiencia internacional. En el contexto actual resulta relevante el término emprendimiento por su relación con el crecimiento económico y la creación de empleos. En el presente trabajo se analiza la evolución del concepto emprendedor, su vínculo con la universidad y el análisis de modelos que hacen referencia a esta relación. También se ejemplifican algunas experiencias en el campo del emprendimiento en países como México, Colombia, Uruguay, Perú, Costa Rica y Chile. Por último se aborda la Gestión del Conocimiento como fuente de ventaja competitiva en el marco del surgimiento de nuevos negocios, para ello se toma como referente el modelo de dirección estratégica por competencias: El Capital Intangible de de Eduardo Bueno Campos. De manera tal que el propósito del presente trabajo es profundizar respecto al estado del arte del emprendimiento, su evolución, las experiencias latinoamericanas y el vínculo con la Gestión del Conocimiento en aras de sentar las bases para estudios posteriores. Entre las principales conclusiones del trabajo se destacan la universidad como uno de los actores sociales que tienen mayor impacto en el desarrollo de competencias, la importancia de la vinculación entre la empresa, la universidad y el gobierno; el desarrollo de las incubadoras en Latinoamérica que aunque es importante no puede compararse con el de los países del primer mundo. Se recalca también la importancia de contar con Capital Humano debidamente preparado para el emprendimiento, pero no se encuentran referentes que vinculen indicadores de este tipo con indicadores de emprendimiento.

In the current global context, mainly marked by intense competition for markets and customers, logistics and with it, the sourcing and procurement and inventory, reached a leading role to a dynamic scenario of the international economy, grocery store uncertainty about the future behavior of the variables. This paper proposes a method for evaluating suppliers and inventory management model with tools of the theory of fuzzy subsets, which are taxed at achieving the above objectives; having investigated as a Cuban commercial company. For the purpose of the publication is not convenient to disclose the identity of the company or the providers evaluated. En el contexto global actual, marcado fundamentalmente por una intensa competencia por los mercados y clientes, la logística y con ella el aprovisionamiento y la gestión de comprase inventarios, han desempeñado un papel protagónico en un contexto dinámico como es la economía internacional, colmado de incertidumbre alrededor del comportamiento de las variables. Currently logistics, supply and purchasing management have reached a leading role at a dynamic scenario of the international economy and an increasingly competitive environment. Selection and evaluation of suppliers have emerged as key factors in the effective and efficient achievement of the required products or services and as determinants of a competitive business management. In this regard, Cuba assumes the correct selection and evaluation of suppliers of companies as one of the aspects that need a main attention in the country, in order to contribute to greater rationality in the importing management and strengthening their purchasing power. This paper proposes a method for evaluating suppliers with the theory of fuzzy subsets, which contribute to achieve the above objectives., Actualmente la logística y con ella, el aprovisionamiento y la gestión de compras, han alcanzado un rol protagónico ante un dinámico escenario de la economía internacional y un contexto cada vez más competitivo. Se destacan así, la selección y evaluación de proveedores como factores claves en la consecución eficaz y eficiente de los productos o servicios requeridos, así como determinantes de una gestión empresarial competitiva. En este sentido, Cuba asume la correcta selección y evaluación de proveedores de las empresas como uno de los aspectos que necesita de principal atención en el país, en aras de contribuir a una mayor racionalidad en la gestión importadora y al fortalecimiento de su poder de compra. State modernization is the great challenge of the new times. It is the responsibility of the government and its policies, to achieve a degree of efficie ncy and effectiveness, at least similar to what is needed to solve the increasingly ur gent problems of the population. In a scenario of change and transformation, concept s such as citizen approach, participatory vision, social inclusion, should defini tely be built into the current governance. But even failures are perceived in the fact of covering participatory processes to local governance. This article defen ds the need for public administration and policy guidelines to incorporate public part icipation in decision- making. From this perspective, it is briefly discussed moderniz ation in public administration in Ecuador and changes in participation in the c ontext of the Citizen Revolution; also some evident weaknesses are considered in this process., La modernización del Estado es el gran desafío de los nuevos tiempos. Es responsabilidad del gobierno y sus políticas lograr un grado de eficiencia y efectividad, por lo menos similar a la que se necesita para resolver los problemas cada vez más perentorios de la población. En un escenario de cambios y transformaciones, conceptos como enfoque ciudadano, visión participativa, inclusión social, deben ser incorporados definitivamente en la gestión pública actual. Sin embargo, aun se perciben fallas en el hecho de imbricar procesos participativos a la gestión pública local. El presente artículo defiende la necesidad de una administración pública de orientaciones y políticas que incorpore la participación ciudadana en la toma de decisiones públicas. En este contexto, se aborda en síntesis la modernización en la gestión pública en Ecuador y los cambios en materia de participación en el contexto de la Revolución Ciudadana; asimismo, se muestran algunas deficiencias que son consideradas en dicho proceso. In the international trade scene, the first element to take into account in order to carry out a successful negotiation, is reflection about the relation that exist between the trade negotiator's profile from the company and the profiles of those from the other culture, we pretend to negotiate with, in order to establish the differences and similarities between them. So, it is essential to determine aspects that characterize the profile of each trade negotiator. Although we can find in literature some works that deal with the elements that must characterize these negotiators, these works present a generic approach, mainly based on the abilities the negotiators must have, but they do not have an integrating method that takes into account the characteristics of their education and the elements of the individual that determine his/her performance as negotiator. In biotechnology, products negotiations are imposed by the intangible component associated to them, which can be either due to the strength of the patent, its novel technology or the fact that these concern research and development projects, at the different stages of development of a biotech product. This paper covers some general topics on negotiations that are included in any process: negotiation stages, strategies, principles and settings. An explanation is also given on the negotiation of intangible assets: patents, trademarks, technologies and commercial rights, the meaning of upfront fees and royalties on sales. The results of the analysis of a sample of the negotiations in BioCubaFarma (the Cuban biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries group) with intangible assets are given and compared to another study of a sample representing more than 1500 negotiations of biotechnology companies occurring between 1998 and 2003. The conclusions of the comparison show that the upfront fees in this sector are in the same range as the international negotiations of the study taken as a reference. In the case of royalties, the average percentage is very close to the international mean. The analyses show that within the negotiations associated with intangible assets in BioCubaFarma there is a prevalence of licensing agreements for co-development and subsequent marketing, followed by distribution agreements. Finally, the most frequently used business models in the Cuban biotechnology industry are described. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The High Tech Enterprises (HTE) are playing an increasingly significant role in the economy, generating a substantial amount of intangible assets which are a significant part of the whole enterprise portfolio. In Cuba, the Biotechnology sector group a number of HTEs with intangible assets of great value in the context of the globalize market. Therefore, it is necessary to draw theoretical and practical frameworks for the negotiation of biotechnological products and their related intangible assets, and, particularly, to develop methodological tools for their adequate negotiation process. For that purpose, a documentary analysis followed by an expert survey was conducted to identify how much attention and the relevance that intangible assets received during the negotiations in HTEs at the BioCubaFarma biopharmaceutical enterprise. There was evident the lack of a standardized evaluation tool and a negotiation methodology for intangible assets. In this work, a new methodology for the valuation and negotiation of the intangible assets is presented. It was prepared by theoretical review of the literature available and designed by including the calculation methods, parameters and indicators required for their negotiation, and their adequate values and ranges both at pre-marketing and marketing commercialization stages. La adecuada gestión de las actividades que conforman la logística empresarial, así como las del área de recursos humanos constituye una vía para el logro de la excelencia empresarial. El presente estudio fue desarrollado en el Grupo Empresarial TABACUBA, y el foco de análisis lo constituyó la Empresa de Tabaco Torcido Partagás, donde se efectuó un diagnóstico tanto de su sistema logístico como del área de recursos humanos, detectándose una serie de problemas que no sólo perjudican la contabilidad de la empresa y del Grupo, sino que repercuten en las exportaciones del producto. El objetivo general de la investigación es elaborar una propuesta de incentivos que alivien o erradiquen los problemas que aquejan hoy a la empresa y al Grupo en general empleando las bondades de la lógica difusa. Una vez aplicada esta propuesta de incentivos se espera mejoren los resultados económicos de Partagás y del Grupo en su conjunto., Efficient and competitive results are essential for the permanence of any organization in the market, therefore, every day it becomes necessary to adopt an integral systemic approach that takes into account all areas of the entity. The proper management of the activities that make up the business logistics, as well as those of the human resources area, constitutes a way to achieve business excellence. The present study was developed in TABACUBA Business Group, and the focus of analysis was the Tobacco Company Torcido Partagás, where a diagnosis was made of both its logistics system and the human resources area, detecting a series of problems that harm the accounts of the company and the Group, having an impact on the product's exports. The general objective of the research is to develop a proposal of incentives that alleviate or eradicate the problems that afflict the company and the Group in general using the benefits of fuzzy logic. The debate around the use of the value chain or supply chain approach has been present for more than a decade in academic and organizational fields, with arguments for and against each of these perspectives. The study supporting the results presented in this paper aims to analyze both approaches and their evolution critically. For this, the authors start from the study of the term logistics as the root of the research, which leads to the subsequent examination of the approaches under analysis. The elements that justify using one or another perspective are presented, and the arguments for why using the value chain approach is considered more successful under current conditions.
