This work combines intelligent algorithms based on transfer learning and residual neural networks (viz., ResNet34) to process and classify optical images of pure and adulterated yogurt samples. This integration aims to detect the presence of melamine in yogurt in concentrations ranging from 1 to 10 ppm. An image database of 1888 images is used to train the ResNet34, and 212 blinded images to test and validate its performance. The optimized intelligent algorithm is able to classify the images into 21 classes considering the yogurt type and melamine content, obtaining an accuracy of over 94%. These encouraging results certify a simple yet powerful real-time quality control method for producers and distributers to ensure food safety for the final consumers, while pinpointing the source of potential fraudulent procedures.

Aun cuando la Ingeniería de Telecomunicación es una de las profesiones más demandadas en cuanto a salidas laborales se refiere, el porcentaje de mujeres que realizan estos estudios no supera el 30%. En esta red pretendemos realizar un estudio sobre las mujeres que están estudiando en estos momentos en la Universidad de Alicante la titulación de Grado en Ingeniería en Sonido e Imagen en Telecomunicación o el Máster Universitario en Ingeniería de Telecomunicación, así como egresadas. Se recopilará su percepción sobre la profesión y su aportación al mundo de la ingeniería. Las conclusiones ayudarán a incentivar la participación de mujeres en estudios tecnológicos, en general, y de ingeniería de telecomunicación, en particular.

The Mexican National Guard is the institution in charge of providing security to the population, however, for this to happen, and to carry out its mission properly, its members must develop certain personal and professional capabilities to achieve the performance society expects from them. The objective of this research is to determine trust as an empowerment of human development of the Mexican National Guard, knowing needs, personal and professional concerns of its members in order to enhance their performance and the institutional professionalization and reflect it before society for a more ethical and reliable performance to have a safe country. For this, it is necessary to have federal police educational centers which allow their members to develop personally and professionally within the institution. The methodology used in this research is mixed, performing both qualitative and quantitative analyses, which will serve to enrich the research. The study was carried out with personnel from various areas of the Institution, obtaining the sample through Probabilistic (stratified random sampling) and non-probabilistic (empirical, casual and snowball) techniques. Surveys and casual conversations were conducted with the elements, their colleagues and managers. For results analisys, the specialized software MaxQDA and Excel were used. Demonstrating the needs that the personnel conforming this Institution have with respect to an integral Human Development, to create the necessary confidence within it, and develop a comprehensive curriculum, for all the personnel who work in it, homogenizing learning and respecting profiles position and functions., La Guardia Nacional México es la institución encargada de brindar seguridad a la población, sin embargo, para que esto ocurra, y se lleve idóneamente su misión, sus integrantes deben desarrollar ciertas capacidades personales y profesionales para lograr el desempeño esperado por la sociedad. El objetivo de la presente investigación es determinar la confianza como empoderamiento del desarrollo humano de la Guardia Nacional México, conociendo las necesidades e inquietudes personales y profesionales que tienen sus integrantes con la finalidad de enaltecer su desempeño y profesionalización institucional y reflejarlo ante la sociedad para un desempeño más ético y fiable y contar con un país seguro. Para esto se requiere contar con centros educativos policiales a nivel federal que les permita a sus integrantes desarrollarse personal y profesionalmente dentro de la institución. La metodología empleada es mixta, realizando análisis tanto cualitativo como cuantitativo, que servirán para enriquecerla. El estudio se realizó con personal de diversas áreas de la Institución, obteniendo la muestra por medio de las técnicas Probabilístico (muestreo aleatorio estratificado) y no probabilísticas (la empírica, casual y bola de nieve). Se realizaron encuestas y pláticas casuales con los elementos, sus compañeros y mandos. Para el análisis de resultados se utilizó el software especializado MaxQDA y Excel. Demostrando las necesidades que el personal que integran la Institución tiene respecto a un Desarrollo Humano integral, para crear la confianza necesaria dentro de la misma, y desarrollar un curriculum integral, para todo el personal que labora en ella, homogenizando el aprendizaje, respetando perfiles de puesto y funciones.

Coral recruitment can be used as an indicator ofthe health status and resilience of the reef ecosystem. The use of artificial substrates can be used to evaluate the recruitment of individuals and/or the system repopulation by scleractinian corals. El Inglés reef, in Isla Fuerte (Colombian Caribbean) isbeingexposed to the influence of Sinú and Magdalena rivers. Coral recruitment was quantified in artificial substrates using terracotta plates of 15 x 15 cm, at three depths (4-6, 12-14, 22-24 m) with replacement every two months for a year. Additionally,sediment deposited on plate surface was collected for each sample. A total of 30 recruits (1 to 6 recruits for sample) were registered, showing differences between the density of recruits over time, being higher between June-August coinciding with a reduction in the sediment loads. No differences in recruits density by depth were observed. The quantity ofsedimentation showed differences over time and depth; only an inverse correlation (r2=–-0.34, p=0.04, n=36) between recruits density of and sediment amount indeep areas was found in the reef, indicating that the larger load the sediments produced a negative effect on recruits. Coral recruitment registered was low compared with other reefs in the Caribbean, suggesting its vulnerability to high sedimentation by the Sinú River, particularly silt+clays during February-April-June. However, registered recruitment suggests that dominant and survival adult species in the reef asA. tenuifolia, P. astreoides, P. poritesand S. siderea, maintain their reproductive activity, El reclutamiento coralino permite inferir sobre elestado de salud y la resiliencia del ecosistema arrecifal. Allí se cuantificó el reclutamiento coralino ensustrato artificial usando placas de terracota de 15 x 15 cm en tres profundidades (4-6, 12-14, 22-24 m), con recambio cada dos meses durante un año. Así mismo, se recolectó el sedimento depositado en la superficie de las placas en cada muestreo. Seregistraron 30 reclutas en total (1 a 6 reclutas por muestreo), con diferencias en la densidad de estos a través del tiempo, siendomayor entre junio-agosto, lo cual coincide con la reducción en la cantidad de sedimento, mientras que por profundidad no hubo diferencias en dicha variable. La cantidad de sedimento, por otra parte, presentó variaciones en el tiempo y con la profundidad. Solo en la zona profunda del arrecife se encontró una correlación inversa (r2=–0,34, p=0,04, n=36) entre la densidad de reclutas yla cantidad de sedimento, lo que indica que a mayor carga de sedimento, menor densidad de reclutas. El hecho de que el reclutamiento coralino registrado fuera menor en comparación con otros arrecifes evaluados en el Caribe sugiere la vulnerabilidad de este caso concreto a la alta sedimentación proveniente del río Sinú, particularmente de limos+arcillas entre febrero-abril-junio. No obstante, el reclutamiento registrado sugiere que especies adultas dominantes y sobrevivientes en el arrecife, como A. tenuifolia, P. astreoides, P. poritesy S. siderea, mantienen su actividad reproductiva

This article analyzes the state of coal mi­ning production in Colombia based on the vocation present in the municipalities where this activity takes place. In the last decade the development of mining activity in Colombia has had a positive increase, standing out as the fifth largest producer and exporter of coal in the world; However, this development is not closely related to the social welfare indicators of the municipalities that support the activity. The research tries to establish how the recognition of mining activity by the instru­ments of socioeconomic development and territorial planning is a variable that can ex­plain this phenomenon. The methodological approach consisted in establishing relations between the volume of production and the presence or absence of guidelines within the planning instruments that allowed observing the recognition of the mining vocation within the territories and how this could aim to facili­tate the development of coal mining. To advance this purpose, a typology was built based on the characteristics of production in which the information was systematized and analyzed in four categories. The analysis allowed to identify non-parametric results on the vocation of the territories and the recogni­tion of mining activity as a pillar of the econo­mic activity of the municipality, which can be explained from the degree of importance and mention that said activity records in the agenda of the local planning instruments., El presente artículo analiza el estado de la producción minera de carbón en Colombia a partir de la vocación presente en los muni­cipios donde dicha actividad se desarrolla. En la última década, el desarrollo de la actividad minera en Colombia ha tenido un incremento positivo, destacándose como el quinto mayor productor y exportador de carbón en el mun­do; sin embargo, este desarrollo no guarda una estrecha relación con los indicadores sociales de los municipios que soportan la actividad. La investigación intenta establecer cómo el re­conocimiento de la actividad minera por parte de los instrumentos de desarrollo socioeconó­mico y de planeación territorial es una variable que puede explicar este fenómeno. El abordaje metodológico consistió en establecer relaciones entre el volumen de la producción y la presen­cia o no de directrices dentro de los instrumen­tos de planeación que permitiesen observar el reconocimiento de la vocación minera dentro de los territorios y cómo esta podría apuntar a facilitar el desarrollo de la actividad. Para adelantar dicho propósito se construyó una tipología basada en las características de la producción en la que se sistematizó y analizó la información en cuatro categorías. El análisis permitió identificar resultados no paramétricos sobre la vocación de los territorios y el recono­cimiento de la actividad minera como pilar de la actividad económica del municipio, la cual se puede explicar a partir del grado de impor­tancia y mención que dicha actividad registra en la agenda de planeación municipal.

Introduction Biosimilars of granulocyte colony-stimulating factors (G-CSF) have shown similar efficacy to originator filgrastim (Neupogen (R) [NEU]; Amgen Inc.) as prophylaxis in neutropenia and in the mobilization of stem cells in patients receiving combination chemotherapy with G-CSF. Methods This was a retrospective study in which the characteristics of stem cell mobilization treated with a G-CSF alone were compared in 216 patients and 56 donors. The two G-CSF compared were NEU and the biosimilar filgrastim Zarzio (R) (Sandoz GmbH) (referred to hereafter as BIO). Primary objectives were mobilization rate (minimum of 10 x 10(3)/ml CD34+ on day 4 of treatment [day +4]) and use of the immunostimulant plerixafor (PLEX) in each group. Results The general characteristics of the patients receiving NEU (n = 138) and those receiving BIO (n = 78) did not differ significantly. PLEX was used in 24% of BIO patients and in 25.7% of NEU patients. The median CD34+ cell count on day +4 was significantly lower in BIO patients who needed PLEX than in those who did not (2.4 vs. 4.8 x 10(3)/ml; p = 0.002), as was the final CD34+ cell count (2.5 vs. 3.3 x 10(6)/kg; p 0.03). Mobilization failure rate was higher in the BIO group than in the NEU group (20 vs. 0%; p = 0.01). With respect to donors, more than one apheresis was needed in three BIO donors, one of them with PLEX. The use of BIO was the only risk factor for mobilization failure in patients who needed PLEX (hazard ratio 10.3; 95% confidence interval 1.3-77.8). Conclusion The study revealed that BIO had a lower efficacy for stem cell mobilization when the only treatment was G-CSF, especially in poor mobilizers needing PLEX.
