Мақалада Қазақстанның қола және ерте темір дәуірі ескерткіштерінен табылған қыш ыдыстардың бетінен силикон көшірмесін алу әдісі арқылы жасалған зерттеудің алғашқы нәтижелері баяндалған. Әдіс қыш бұйымдардың бетіндегі тұқымдардың, жәндіктердің және басқа да үш өлшемді заттардың іздерін табу және сәйкестендіру мақсатында жасалды. The article presents the first results of the study of vessels found in the monuments of the Bronze and Early Iron Ages of Kazakhstan by removing silicone casts from the surface of ceramics. The method consists in finding and identifying traces of seeds, insects and other three-dimensional objects on the surface of ceramic products. The study of ceramic prints allows: 1. identify which types of plants were used in the past; 2. establish which tools were used to make pottery; 3. discover organic materials used by ancient societies, etc. In total, 103 fragments of vessels were analyzed from the Saba burial ground (Kostanay region), where vessels of the Bronze and Early Iron Ages were found, as well as from the Early Iron Age burial ground of Tortoba (Aktobe region). As a result of the study, it was possible to successfully identify common millet at the Early Iron Age burial ground of Tortoba using the method of silicone replicas in ceramics. The discovered samples of millet of the Early Iron Age from Western Kazakhstan are the first example of millet fixation in the form of an imprint in the walls of ceramic vessels. This work is the first experimental study of ceramic prints of the Early Iron Age of Western Kazakhstan. The article is devoted to the results of excavations of one complex of the Saba burial ground in the Karatorgay river valley. The monument is located in the contact zone of two worlds: Sakas and Savromat-Sarmatian. The complex consists of a ground structure and sacrificial calculations in the near mound space of the early Sakas, as well as two "satellite" mounds with stone ridges and fences of the Hunno-Sarmatian period. In the construction of the mound of the military elite of the Sakas, four construction stages of the construction of a ground structure are clearly distinguished. Based on a comparative analysis of the data obtained (burial structure and rite; discovered inventories: bronze arrowheads, an iron dagger), the main mound is dated to the 7th–6thcenturies BC. Extracurricular cult-ritual objects are dated 3rd–5th centuries AD. Technological analysis data showed that a round-bottom potshaped vessel with specific ornamental patterns in the form of a spiral and triangles from smooth and stroke elements from the main mound and miniature vesselsfound in religious objects were made according to different recipes of molding materials.

Ancient genomic time-transect across the Central Asian Steppe sheds new light onto the origins and demise of the Scythians., The Scythians were a multitude of horse-warrior nomad cultures dwelling in the Eurasian steppe during the first millennium BCE. Because of the lack of first-hand written records, little is known about the origins and relations among the different cultures. To address these questions, we produced genome-wide data for 111 ancient individuals retrieved from 39 archaeological sites from the first millennia BCE and CE across the Central Asian Steppe. We uncovered major admixture events in the Late Bronze Age forming the genetic substratum for two main Iron Age gene-pools emerging around the Altai and the Urals respectively. Their demise was mirrored by new genetic turnovers, linked to the spread of the eastern nomad empires in the first centuries CE. Compared to the high genetic heterogeneity of the past, the homogenization of the present-day Kazakhs gene pool is notable, likely a result of 400 years of strict exogamous social rules.

Analysis of mammalian species composition has been performed for eight archaeological sites on the Ustyurt plateau. They date to the range from the middle Subboreal to the middle Subatlantic. The modern species composition of large mammals formed by the end of the Middle Holocene (Subboreal 2) and did not change until the early 20th century. The ungulate species composition and ratio on the plateau showed geographical variation and changed over time. Boars were always rare or absent in the north of Ustyurt. The structure of the ungulate fauna in the north of Ustyurt changed over time. Onager numbers in this area increased and saiga numbers decreased in the middle of the Late Holocene. Significant geographical differences in the structure of ungulate fauna were recorded in the middle of the Late Holocene. The numbers of onagers, goitered gazelles, and argali were higher, whereas the numbers of saigas were lower in the south of Ustyurt than in the north.

Могилы с большими курганами обозначали политическиецентры крупных объединений. В представлении древних кочевников курганы - это место перехода человекак другому существу. Предметы ювелирного искусства являются индикатором уровня технологического развитияи благосостояния общества, и каждый предмет животного стиля несет определенную смысловую нагрузку, зооморфныйкод.На основе анализа новых исследовательских материалов по раннему железному веку Казахстана в статье даетсяобщий обзор уровня развития строительных работ древними жителями, ихотношения к вопросу жизни и смерти, сложности ритуально-обрядовой практики.
