Single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT)-conductive cotton fabric was prepared by a simple infusion method. The SWCNTs became strongly attached to the cotton fibers due to the surface functional groups forming a network on the cotton surface. As a result, the fabric exhibited enhanced electrical conductivity with a low value of sheet resistance (0.006 Ω). Moreover, the conductive cotton fabric displayed a reversible stable state transition at approximately 75°C, where the resistance of the fabric transitioned from metal to semiconductor behavior.

In this work, we have performed a comprehensive investigation of the structural, electronic magnetic, mechanical and thermal properties of the compounds SrFeO3 and SrMnO3 under pressure using density functional theory. In structural and mechanical properties, we have found that compounds are stable in the cubic phase by performing stability tests of tolerance factor and mechanical stability criteria, respectively. The bulk modulus, shear modulus and young modulus are observed to increase with pressure, and this illustrates that compounds become more stiff and rigid. The internal strain factor is also observed to decrease with an increase in pressure which is the key parameter in explaining bond bending or bond stretching ability in the material. In electronic properties, we have investigated the electronic band gap and density of states of the compounds in detail. While in magnetic properties, ferromagnetic nature of the compounds is observed throughout the pressure range. The majority of bonds in the studied compounds are ionic according to Cauchy criteria. The superplastic deformation is also calculated using elastic constants which illustrates materials resistance to occur plastic deformation at high pressure in the cubic phase. Our calculated results at 50 GPa are not discussed previously in theoretical or experimental findings. All calculated results at ambient conditions have matched well with available theoretical and experimental results. Our results have indicated all studied compounds as half-metallic in nature which increases the chances of materials to be used in spintronic devices.

Nanostructured titanium dioxide–graphene oxide (TiO2-GO) thin films have been successfully synthesized and deposited on glass substrates using spin coating technique. TiO2-GO nanocomposites were prepared using Titanium Tetra Isopropoxide (TIP) and Graphene Oxide (GO) nanosheets. The influences of spin coating deposition speed on the structural, morphological, and optical features of the resulting TiO2-GO samples have been investigated. X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns showed an amorphous structure of all deposited films. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images demonstrated that these films are homogeneous and all free from cracking over the entire surface of the sample, regardless of the number of rotations used. Atomic force microscopy (AFM) topography images reveal that all samples are smooth with very small surface roughness. Optical data obtained from UV–Vis spectrophotometer measurement together with theoretical modeling using Tauc–Lorentz (TL) oscillator model showed that all films display high transmittance level around 85% from the visible to the near-infrared region. It is also shown that an increase in spin coating speed results in a decrease in the film thickness and the optical band gap. The observed optical features reveal that TiO2-GO thin films are promising candidate that can be used as transparent conducting oxide electrode in solar cells.
