Objective: We report patient-reported outcomes (PROs) measuring health-related quality of life (HRQoL) from the ROSEWOOD trial (NCT03332017), which demonstrated superior efficacy and a manageable safety profile with zanubrutinib plus obinutuzumab (ZO) versus obinutuzumab (O) in patients with heavily pretreated relapsed/refractory follicular lymphoma (R/R FL). Methods: PROs were assessed using the European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Quality of Life Questionnaire – Core 30 (EORTC QLQ-C30) and EQ-5D-5L questionnaires at baseline and subsequently every 12 weeks. All QLQ-C30 domains and EQ-5D-5L visual analog scale (VAS) scores were analyzed descriptively. At the key clinical timepoints (weeks 12 and 24), a mixed model for repeated measures (MMRM) analysis was used to evaluate the key PRO endpoints, including global health status, physical and role functioning, and symptoms of fatigue, pain, diarrhea, and nausea/vomiting. Clinically meaningful change was defined as a ≥ 5-point mean difference from baseline and between the ZO and O arms. Results: Patients were randomized to ZO (n = 145) or O (n = 72). By week 48, descriptive analysis results indicated that patients in the ZO arm demonstrated improved outcomes in role functioning and fatigue and nausea/vomiting symptoms, compared with those in the O arm. Both groups experienced improvements in pain symptoms. EQ-5D-5L VAS scores showed no observable differences between treatment arms through week 48. MMRM analysis revealed that the global health status/quality of life of patients treated with ZO improved, as did fatigue, at week 12. At week 24, patients in the ZO arm experienced a clinically meaningful improvement in role functioning, pain, and fatigue. Conclusions: In patients with R/R FL, ZO was associated with improved PROs compared with O. These findings suggest that zanubrutinib contributed clinically meaningful benefits to patient HRQoL when added to obinutuzumab. Trial registration: The ROSEWOOD trial is registered on ClinicalTrials.gov (BGB-3111-212; ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT03332017). PLAIN LANGUAGE SUMMARY: Follicular lymphoma (or FL) is a common blood cancer where abnormal white blood cells form lumps in organs and glands in the body that normally help fight infection (lymph nodes). Zanubrutinib selectively blocks Bruton tyrosine kinase, which can prevent cancer cells growing and lead to their death. Obinutuzumab binds to a protein called CD20 on cancer cells, facilitating their removal using the body's natural defense system. Previous results from the ROSEWOOD trial showed that zanubrutinib plus obinutuzumab had improved cancer-fighting effects versus obinutuzumab alone, with manageable side effects in patients whose cancer returned after treatment or when treatment had failed. This study examined how these two cancer treatments impacted the patients' wellbeing and day-to-day functioning as reported directly by them (patient-reported outcomes). Researchers found that by week 48 of the trial, patients who received zanubrutinib plus obinutuzumab found it easier to manage daily activities (role functioning) and had fewer symptoms of feeling exhausted all the time (fatigue) and nausea/vomiting versus those who received obinutuzumab alone. Further analysis showed that the patients who received zanubrutinib plus obinutuzumab had noticeable improvements from the start of treatment in role functioning, pain, and fatigue versus patients receiving obinutuzumab alone at week 24 of the trial. In conclusion, this study showed that zanubrutinib plus obinutuzumab was associated with improved patient-reported outcomes versus obinutuzumab alone in patients with relapsed or refractory FL. Priming enables plants to respond more promptly, minimise damage, and survive subsequent stress events. Here, we aimed to assess the efficacy of priming and cross-priming in mitigating the stress caused by waterlogging and/or dehydration in soybeans (Glycine max). Soybean plants were cultivated in a greenhouse in plastic pots in which soil moisture was maintained at pot capacity through irrigation. The first stress was applied in plants at the vegetative stage for 5 days and involved either dehydration or waterlogging, depending on the treatment. Subsequently, the plants were irrigated or drained and maintained at pot capacity until the second stress. For the second stress, the conditions were repeated in plants at the reproductive stage. We then evaluated the levels of hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), lipid peroxidation, total soluble sugars (TSS), amino acids, proline, and starch, and the activity of antioxidant, fermentative, and aminotransferase enzymes. Under waterlogging and dehydration, priming and cross-priming significantly increased the activity of antioxidant enzymes and the levels of TSS, amino acids, and proline while reducing H2O2 concentration and lipid peroxidation. Under waterlogging, priming suppressed fermentative activity and increased carbohydrate content. This demonstrates that soybean plants activate their defence systems more promptly when subjected to priming. Priming is a method where the exposition of a plant to a mild stress before a severe one enables quicker stress response, and holds promise in mitigating water stress. This study assessed the efficacy of priming in combating waterlogging and dehydration in soybean (Glycine max) plants. Results revealed that priming significantly boosted antioxidant enzyme activity and organic compound levels while reducing oxidative damage. Simple Summary: Blood transfusions are lifesaving procedures. In dogs, because of the absence of naturally occurring alloantibodies, the risk of an acute hemolytic transfusion reaction at the first transfusion is negligible, but mismatched transfusions might produce alloimmunization. Therefore, it is important to blood type both donor and recipient dogs prior to blood transfusion. The prevalence of dog blood groups varies geographically and between breeds. The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of DEA 1 in a canine population in Luanda province in Angola (Sub-Saharan Africa) and to assess the risk of alloimmunization after a mismatched blood transfusion. Of the 112 dogs tested (59 males and 53 females), 52.68% were DEA 1 positive and 47.32% DEA 1 negative. Female dogs presented a tendency to be DEA 1 positive and males DEA 1 negative (p = 0.0085). In a first-time mismatched blood transfusion, the calculated probability of a dog becoming sensitized was 24.9% and the probability of an acute hemolytic reaction following a second incompatible blood transfusion was 6.21%. These results differ from those of other African regions. In line with the results, blood typing is recommended prior to transfusion. Language disorders may interfere with social integration and affect personal development. Because the balance of the stomatognathic system can interfere with language, it is important for speech therapy and dentistry to work together, providing multidisciplinary healthcare. Aim: To analyze the 100 most frequently cited articles on language disorders in children and adolescents and assess the interplay with dentistry by means of a bibliometric analysis. Materials and Method: A search of the 100 most frequently cited articles up to December 2021 on language disorders was performed in the Web of Science Core Collection database. Four researchers extracted the data on number of citations, title, authors, country, year of publication, journals, study design, prevalent clinical conditions, and area of expertise. The analyses were performed using VOSviewer and Excel. Results: The total number of citations ranged from 251 to 1,431. Four articles were cited more than 1,000 times. Bishop DVM (10 articles; 3,653 citations) and Tomblin JD (10 articles; 4,261 citations) were the most frequently cited authors. The institutions with the largest number of publications were the University of Oxford/England (11%) and the University of Kansas/USA (8%). Observational study design was the most frequent (77%). Autism spectrum disorder (18%) and dyslexia (14%) were the most broadly investigated clinical conditions. Speech-language pathology (32%) was the area of expertise with the largest number of articles, and none of the top 100 studies showed interplay with dentistry. Conclusion: The 100 most widely cited articles on language disorders are mostly observational, mainly address autism spectrum disorder, and are in the field of speech-language pathology. No study reported interplay with dentistry. Os distúrbios de linguagem podem interferir na integração social e afetar o desenvolvimento dos indivíduos. Objetivo: Analisar os 100 artigos mais citados sobre distúrbios de linguagem em crianças e adolescentes e verificar a interação com a odontologia por meio de análise bibliométrica. Material e Método: Foi realizada uma busca pelos 100 artigos mais citados sobre distúrbios de linguagem na base de dados Web of Science Core Collection até dezembro de 2021. Quatro pesquisadores extraíram os dados referentes a número de citações, título, autores, país, ano de publicação, periódicos, desenho de estudo, condições clínicas prevalentes e área de especialização. As análises foram realizadas utilizando VOSviewer e Excel. Resultados: O número total de citações variou de 251 a 1.431. Quatro artigos foram citados mais de 1.000 vezes. Bishop DVM (10 artigos; 3.653 citações) e Tomblin JD (10 artigos; 4.261 citações) foram os autores mais frequentemente citados. As instituições com maior número de publicações foram a Universidade de Oxford/Inglaterra (11%) e a Universidade de Kansas/EUA (8%). O desenho de estudo observacional foi o mais frequente (77%). O transtorno do espectro autista (18%) e a dislexia (14%) foram as condições clínicas mais amplamente investigadas. Abstract Background Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common cause of morbidity and mortality affecting a large number of individuals in both developed and developing countries and it represents a significant financial burden for patients, families and society. Pulmonary rehabilitation (PR) is a multidisciplinary program that integrates components of exercise training, education, nutritional support, psychological support and self-care, resulting in an improvement in dyspnea, fatigue and quality of life. Despite its proven effectiveness and the strong scientific recommendations for its routine use in the care of COPD, PR is generally underutilized and strategies for increasing access to PR are needed. Home-based self-monitored pulmonary rehabilitation is an alternative to outpatient rehabilitation. In the present study, patients with mild, moderate and severe COPD submitted to either an outpatient or at-home PR program for 12 weeks were analyzed. Methods Patients who fulfilled the inclusion criteria were randomized into three distinct groups: an outpatient group who performed all activities at the clinic, a home-based group who performed the activities at home and a control group. PR consisted of a combination of aerobic exercises and strengthening of upper and lower limbs 3 times a week for 12 weeks. Results There was a significant difference in the distance covered on the six-minute walk test (p < 0.05) and BODE index (p < 0.001) in the outpatient and at-home groups after participating in the rehabilitation program compared to baseline. Conclusion A home-based self-monitoring pulmonary rehabilitation program is as effective as outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation and is a valid alternative for the management of patients with COPD.
