The study addresses psychological features underlying healthy functioning of the individual and his/her successful management of stressful and tense situations. To study the role of training in children’s art school (CAS) in the formation of the given psychological features the authors conducted a comparative analysis of persons with full-time course of education in CAS and persons without such experience. The sample consisting of 257 participants was divided into three groups of comparison. The measures used in the study included the Ryff Scales of Psychological Wellbeing (adapted by T. D. Shevelkova and T. P. Fesenko), Maddi’s Hardiness Survey (modified by E. N. Osin and E. I. Rasskazova), and a questionnaire. The data were processed with the help of Kruskal–Wallis test, Mann–Whitney U test, and SPSS 20.0. The results have shown that the respondents with full-time training in CAS have higher indicators of psychological wellbeing and resilience. They are more aware of their value, integrity and meaningfulness of being, and have a more pronounced resource for coping with difficult, stressful situations. All these characteristics reflect the realm of experiences and states inherent in a healthy individual who is successful in his or her realization. The findings have revealed that even an incomplete course of studying in CAS creates the conditions for shaping personality wellbeing and resilience – features necessary for the person to combat stress and tension and function efficiently.

Aim. To review the current publication highlighting the features of pregnancy and childbirth outcomes in patients with endometriosis. Materials and methods. The analysis of 45 foreign and domestic publications on this topic has been carried out. Results. Patients with endometriosis have fertility problems, and when pregnancy occurs, it was characterized by a higher risk of preeclampsia, placenta previa, gestational diabetes, miscarriage and preterm labor, as well as delivery by caesarean section. Newborns in women with endometriosis have an increased risk of prematurity and small for gestational age. Probably, in addition to the presence of endometriosis, the risk of obstetric and neonatal complications is influenced by the localization and severity of the disease, as well as the use of assisted reproductive technologies. Conclusion. The results obtained indicate that patients with endometriosis have a high risk of perinatal complications and require additional antenatal monitoring and care.

Objectives The objective of the study was to determine the level of antibodies (AB) of Ig classes A and G to estradiol (E2), progesterone (P) and benzo [a] pyrene (Bp) in patients with endometriosis of various severity and estimate their threshold values as a risk factor for the development of endometriosis. Methods A retrospective case–control study was performed. The study involved 200 women. Group I: women with endometriosis (n=100), Group II: patients with tubal-peritoneal infertility (n=100). All patients underwent immunological studies of blood serum; and the levels of steroid hormones (P, E2), antibodies to them and Bp were determined. A ROC analysis was carried out to identify threshold values of antibodies levels. Results Women with endometriosis were found to have statistically significantly higher levels of antibodies IgA and IgG to E2, P and benzo [a] pyrene compared to women of Group II. The threshold levels of IgA-Bp, IgA-E2 and IgA-P are >5 CU (conventional unit), IgG-Bp, IgG-E2>9 CU and IgG-P>8 CU. The level of IgG-P in patients with severe forms of endometriosis is statistically significantly higher than in minor forms of the disease. In case of severe forms, there is a tendency to increasing other classes of antibodies. Conclusions Patients with endometriosis usually have a higher level of IgA and IgG to Bp, E2, P. Their threshold values, which are risk factors for the development of the disease, are estimated.

Value differences of various ethnic groups present a challenge for today’s multinational city. Arriving in a new cultural environment the individual has to adjust – to change his previous views and values. In the case of a general cultural code, this process occurs quite rapidly and without difficulties. But if cultural differences are essential, then the process of adaptation requires a longer period, and the migrant can face considerable difficulties. The study aims to examine value orientations before and after resettlement. We believe that values are not yet the established imperatives and capable of undergoing dynamic alterations. And due to a changing social situation, they can transform in response to personal purposes and motives. In the study, we used the S. Schwartz Value Scale. The data were collected two times: before and after migration with a period of 14 months. The results revealed both significant differences in the respondents’ value orientations after their immersing in an alien culture and the dynamics of value orientations of the Russianspeaking migrants living abroad. While migrating, a behavioral level of value orientations transforms more than a normative does. Value profile of personality changes together with tasks the individual faces; values accomplish an instrumental function of satisfying needs and motives.

The paper demonstrates the role of psychological security in the process of cross-national interaction. The condition of psychological security can reduce barriers, giving people an opportunity of interacting freely with the world around them. Criteria and indicators of ethnic identity formation were developed, depending on the degree of intensity of individual’s psychological security; these were classified into cognitive, affective and behavioral components and considered at two levels: in relation to oneself and to others. A series of expert interviews was conducted based on the developed system of criteria and indicators of ethnic identity transformation. During this interview series, experts were offered to identify the most significant criteria of individual’s ethnic identity transformation, in their view, depending on the degree of his/her psychological security. To identify the most relevant criteria in experts’ opinion, a variation coefficient was calculated for each of the criteria, and its weight was identified based on experts’ estimates. Contentbased, procedural and discursive features of ethnic identity transformation under condition of cross-national relations were identified, along with their dependency on psychological security.

The perception of one’s own identity is one of the basic moments of a personality construct as they relate to how people act; perceive the world around and with what social they identify themselves. While immersed in an alien culture these perceptions transform. The authors aimed to examine differences in selfimages of the Russian-speaking emigrants before and after emigration. Our hypothesis implies significant differences in self-image upon immersing in another cultural environment. The objective we set resides in identifying aspects of selfimage exposed to transformations and the degree of these changes. For data accumulating before and after the process of international migration with a period of 14 months, we exploited M. Kuhn and T. McPartland’s test “Who am I?” The data demonstrated statistically significant differences in the respondents’ self –image in the course of adaptation. The results allow us to conclude that with a changing social situation self-perception also most alternations exhibit those aspects of selfimage through which the respondents interacted with a host-country population. We believe that self-image presents a hierarchically organized, complex, and dynamic structure with the core and the periphery. The components of self-image can rebuild itself in response to a situation of social interaction.

Our research focused on the selection of already known markers, as well as the search for other infonormative markers based on data made publicly available on the GEO NCBI platform (genome-wide DNA methylation projects using the Infinium Human Methylation 450K BeadChip (Illumina ©)). The main objective of the study was to demonstrate that the accuracy of determining the biological age of a person in the presence of chronic diseases using linear-dependent methylation markers is comparable to the accuracy of determining the biological age of a healthy person. Criminologists, as a rule, do not have information about the chronic diseases of a person who has left a biological trace at the scene (blood, for example). However, the lack of this information, as we have shown for a some of diseases, does not play a critical role in the precise determination of biological age. Additionally, an obstacle was removed when transferring the information content of markers from Infinium Human Methylation 450K BeadChip chips to SNaPshot technology. The analysis was carried out on a sample of 236 Belarusians, for whom the methylation profile for 7 Cpg markers is presented. It is shown that the information content of markers is preserved Our analysis shows the possibility of creating the universal test system for predicting biological age according to marker methylation. The system can be used in the work of the most criminalist in the world with the same task.

This thesis is based on a photographic collection of Indian painted photographs from the South Asian Photographic collection at the Royal Ontario Museum (ROM). There are fifty-four photographic objects created by various makers and photographers with dates ranging from the 1880's to the 1990's. For the most part the objects are examples of studio portraiture. Most of them are photographic images with applied colour, however, there are some examples of paintings in this group that were executed in the tradition of photographic studio portraiture, but have no evidence of a photosensitive material underneath. The paintings, as well as the painted photographs, employ different media, such as watercolour, gouache and oil paints. The objects I investigated and catalogued fall under three categories: prints made by contact printing, by enlargement, and finally paintings produced using a photograph as a model. Tinting of photographs was a well-known Western tradition in the nineteenth century, while the process that Indian artists developed was a synthesis of their long practiced tradition of miniature painting and the newly developed technology of photography. Finally this thesis unveils the means of production of Indian painted photographs, and tries to find the reason for Indian artists employing opaque medium in their colourings.

Background To analyze the allelic variants of genes of enzymes involved in estrogen metabolism: CYP1A1, CYP1A2, CYP19 and SULT1A1 using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) analysis of women with histologically confirmed adenomyosis and women without proliferative diseases of pelvic organs was performed. We studied the following polymorphisms: CYP1A1 M1, T264 → C transition in the 3′-noncoding region; CYP1A2*1F, C734 → A transversion in CYP1A2 gene; C → T transition (Arg264Cys) in exon 7 of CYP19; SULT1A1*2, G638 → A transition (Arg213His) in the SULT1A1 gene. Materials and methods The study included 804 patients. Group I (experimental group) consisted of 268 women with adenomyosis. Inclusion criteria were: histological verification of adenomyosis, consent of patients to participate in the study. Group II (control group) – 536 women without proliferative diseases of the uterus. Inclusion criteria were: lack of proliferative processes of the uterus histologically confirmed by ultrasound examination, patient’s consent to participate in the study. Results We found the significant association of C allele, T/C and C/C genotypes of the CYP1A1 gene (CYP1A1 M1 polymorphism), A allele, C/A and A/A genotypes of the CYP1A2 gene (CYP1A2*1F polymorphism) and the T allele, C/T and C/C genotypes of the CYP19 (Arg264Cys polymorphism) gene with the risk for adenomyosis. Conclusions Patients with adenomyosis had increased frequency of C allele, T/C and C/C genotypes of the CYP1A1 gene, A allele, C/A and A/A genotypes of the CYP1A2 gene and T allele and C/T and C/C genotypes of the CYP19 gene and, on the contrary, decreased frequency of the mutant allele and heterozygous and mutant homozygous genotype of the CYP1A2 gene compared to women without proliferative diseases of the uterus.
