Tryptase, the most abundant mast cell granule protein, is elevated in severe asthma patients independent of type 2 inflammation status. Higher active β tryptase allele counts are associated with higher levels of peripheral tryptase and lower clinical benefit from anti-IgE therapies. Tryptase is a therapeutic target of interest in severe asthma and chronic spontaneous urticaria. Active and inactive allele counts may enable stratification to assess response to therapies in asthmatic patient subpopulations. Tryptase gene loci TPSAB1 and TPSB2 have high levels of sequence identity, which makes genotyping a challenging task. Here, we report a targeted next-generation sequencing (NGS) assay and downstream bioinformatics analysis for determining polymorphisms at tryptase TPSAB1 and TPSB2 loci. Machine learning modeling using multiple polymorphisms in the tryptase loci was used to improve the accuracy of genotyping calls. The assay was tested and qualified on DNA extracted from whole blood of healthy donors and asthma patients, achieving accuracy of 96%, 96% and 94% for estimation of inactive α and βΙΙΙFS tryptase alleles and α duplication on TPSAB1, respectively. The reported NGS assay is a cost-effective method that is more efficient than Sanger sequencing and provides coverage to evaluate known as well as unreported tryptase polymorphisms.

BackgroundGestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common complication of pregnancy associated with serious adverse outcomes for mothers and their offspring. Achieving glycaemic targets is the mainstream in the treatment of GDM in order to improve pregnancy outcomes. As GDM is usually diagnosed in the third trimester of pregnancy, the time frame for the intervention is very narrow. Women need to get new knowledge and change their diet very quickly. Usually, these patients require additional frequent visits to healthcare professionals. Recommender systems based on artificial intelligence could partially substitute healthcare professionals in the process of educating and controlling women with GDM, thus reducing the burden on the women and healthcare systems. We have developed a mobile-based personalized recommendation system DiaCompanion I with data-driven real time personal recommendations focused primarily on postprandial glycaemic response prediction. The study aims to clarify the effect of using DiaCompanion I on glycaemic levels and pregnancy outcomes in women with GDM.MethodsWomen with GDM are randomized to 2 treatment groups: utilizing and not utilizing DiaCompanion I. The app provides women in the intervention group the resulting data-driven prognosis of 1-hour postprandial glucose level every time they input their meal data. Based on the predicted glucose level, they can adjust their current meal so that the predicted glucose level falls within the recommended range below 7 mmol/L. The app also provides reminders and recommendations on diet and lifestyle to the participants of the intervention group. All the participants are required to perform 6 blood glucose measurements a day. Capillary glucose values are retrieved from the glucose meter and if not available, from the woman’s diary. Additionally, data on glycaemic levels during the study and consumption of major macro- and micronutrients will be collected using the mobile app with electronic report forms in the intervention group. Women from the control group receive standard care without the mobile app. All participants are prescribed with insulin therapy if needed and modifications in their lifestyle. A total of 216 women will be recruited. The primary outcome is the percentage of postprandial capillary glucose values above target (>7.0 mmol/L). Secondary outcomes include the percentage of patients requiring insulin therapy during pregnancy, maternal and neonatal outcomes, glycaemic control using glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), continuous glucose monitoring data and other blood glucose metrics, the number of patient visits to endocrinologists and acceptance/satisfaction of the two strategies assessed using a questionnaire.DiscussionWe believe that the approach including DiaCompanion I will be more effective in patients with GDM for improving glycaemic levels and pregnancy outcomes. We also expect that the use of the app will help reduce the number of clinic visits.Trial registration numberClinicalTrials.gov, Identifier NCT05179798.

Purpose. Gestational trophoblastic disease (GTD) coexisting with a steadily progressing pregnancy is an extremely rare condition presented in the literature as a single case or case series of successful delivery. The purpose of this study was to describe five cases of GTD and present possible management strategies for such patients. Methods. Clinical data of five pregnancies with coexisting GTD were identified within the Almazov National Medical Research Centre from 2018 to 2021. Results. Three cases of multiple pregnancies with complete hydatidiform moles and two cases of singleton pregnancies with intraplacental choriocarcinoma and invasive hydatidiform moles were identified. Three pregnancies were prolonged and ended with preterm deliveries. Malignant transformation of the GTD accounted for 60% of the cases. The condition of newborns was based on the level of prematurity and functional immaturity, and in all cases, it was aggravated by anemia. Conclusion. GTD coexisting with progressing pregnancy is threatened by the risks of preterm delivery, miscarriage, hemorrhage, and disease progression and requires monitoring in a multidisciplinary clinic experienced in the management of patients with malignant tumors during pregnancy. In cases of prolonged pregnancy against the background of GTD, we suggest the following monitoring during pregnancy: pelvic, abdominal ultrasound/MRI (without contrast), prenatal invasive fetal karyotype testing in cases of singleton pregnancy, lung X-ray/CT with uterine shielding, weekly assessment of β-hCG levels, and dynamic monitoring of the fetus. The following postnatal monitoring should be performed: morphological examination of the placenta, weekly assessment of β-hCG levels up to normalization, then monthly assessment up to six months, and control of β-hCG level of the newborn.

Introduction COPD exacerbations are heterogeneous and can be triggered by bacterial, viral, or noninfectious insults. Exacerbations are also heterogeneous in neutrophilic or eosinophilic inflammatory responses. A noninvasive peripheral biomarker of COPD exacerbations characterised by bacterial/neutrophilic inflammation is lacking. Granulocyte-colony stimulating factor (G-CSF) is a key cytokine elevated during bacterial infection and mediates survival, proliferation, differentiation and function of neutrophils. Objective We hypothesised that high peripheral G-CSF would be indicative of COPD exacerbations with a neutrophilic and bacterial phenotype associated with microbial dysbiosis. Methods Serum G-CSF was measured during hospitalised exacerbation (day 0 or D0) and after 30 days of recovery (Day30 or D30) in 37 subjects. In a second cohort, serum and sputum cytokines were measured in 59 COPD patients during stable disease, at exacerbation, and at 2-weeks and 6-weeks following exacerbation. Results Serum G-CSF was increased during exacerbation in a subset of patients. These exacerbations were enriched for bacterial but not viral or type-2 biologies. The median serum G-CSF level was 1.6-fold higher in bacterial exacerbation compared to nonbacterial exacerbation (22 pg·mL−1 versus 13 pg·mL−1, p=0.0007). Serum G-CSF classified bacterial exacerbations with an area under the curve (AUC) for the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve equal to 0.76. Exacerbations with a two-fold or greater increase in serum G-CSF were characterised by neutrophilic inflammation, with increased sputum and blood neutrophils, and high sputum interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6 and serum amyloid A1 (SAA1) levels. These exacerbations were preceded by dysbiosis, with decreased microbiome diversity and enrichment of respiratory pathogens such as Haemophilus and Moraxella. Furthermore, serum G-CSF at exacerbation classified neutrophilic-dysbiotic exacerbations (AUC for the ROC curve equal to 0.75). Conclusions High serum G-CSF enriches for COPD exacerbations characterised by neutrophilic inflammation with underlying bacterial dysbiosis.

Broadly neutralizing antibodies targeting the stalk region of influenza A virus (IAV) hemagglutinin (HA) are effective in blocking virus infection both in vitro and in vivo. The highly conserved epitopes recognized by these antibodies are critical for the membrane fusion function of HA and therefore less likely to be permissive for virus mutational escape. Here we report three resistant viruses of the A/Perth/16/2009 strain that were selected in the presence of a broadly neutralizing stalk-binding antibody. The three resistant viruses harbor three different mutations in the HA stalk: (1) Gln387Lys; (2) Asp391Tyr; (3) Asp391Gly. The Gln387Lys mutation completely abolishes binding of the antibody to the HA stalk epitope. The other two mutations, Asp391Tyr and Asp391Gly, do not affect antibody binding at neutral pH and only slightly reduce binding at low pH. Interestingly, they enhance the fusion ability of the HA, representing a novel mechanism that allows productive membrane fusion even in the presence of antibody and hence virus escape from antibody neutralization. Therefore, these mutations illustrate two different resistance mechanisms used by IAV to escape broadly neutralizing stalk-binding antibodies. Compared to the wild type virus, the resistant viruses release fewer progeny viral particles during replication and are more sensitive to Tamiflu, suggesting reduced viral fitness.

La retroalimentación estudiantil desempeña un papel crucial en el ámbito universitario, influyendo significativamente en las prácticas docentes y contribuyendo a la mejora de la calidad educativa y de las dinámicas de enseñanza-aprendizaje. El objetivo central de esta investigación fue examinar las percepciones de los docentes de la Universidad Técnica de Manabí en Ecuador acerca de la retroalimentación estudiantil y su impacto en la práctica profesional. Para ello, se utilizó una metodología mixta y una encuesta digital anónima aplicada a 336 docentes. Los resultados revelaron una diversidad de opiniones, subrayando la necesidad de personalización en los procesos evaluativos y de estrategias equilibradas y constructivas. Aunque la retroalimentación tiene un impacto moderado en la enseñanza, suele percibirse como crítica, destacando la importancia del contacto personal y las evaluaciones del curso. Se resalta la necesidad de mejorar la comunicación, fortalecer la resiliencia emocional y considerar factores como la experiencia y el género para maximizar los beneficios de la retroalimentación. En conclusión, el estudio aboga la implementación de estrategias de retroalimentación claras y específicas, destacando la importancia de los aspectos demográficos y emocionales en la valoración de la retroalimentación para crear un entorno educativo más equitativo y resiliente.

A partir del levantamiento de referencias teóricas ya analizadas,y publicadas por medios escritos y electrónicos, como libros, artículos científicos, sitios web,procesando la información a partir de la utilización de métodos teóricos y empíricos tales comoel analítico-sintético, análisis documental, observación y encuesta se determinaron carenciasen el diseño de clases, tareas docentes y la gestión del conocimiento. The aim of the article is to assess the digital transformation quantitatively and qualitatively in the management of public services against the background of the pandemic. The E-Government Development Index (EGDI) analog for evaluating the effectiveness of digital public services was developed. Qualitative and quantitative changes in digital transformation in the management of public services on the background of the pandemic were determined. It was found that no more extensive range of non-mandatory actions aimed at improving the clientoriented nature of public services and communication is observed in the innovative regions of the Russian Federation. It is established that the main transformations are qualitative, as the trend of increasing digitalization of public services was observed even before the pandemic, but during the pandemic the requirements for the expansion of such services, their efficiency, "customer centricity", and communication both within the organization and with users have increased. High-risk human papillomavirus (HR-HPV) is associated with the development of different types of cancer, such as cervical, head and neck (including oral, laryngeal, and oropharyngeal), vulvar, vaginal, penile, and anal cancers. The progression of premalignant lesions to cancer depends on factors associated with the host cell and the different epithelia infected by HPV, such as basal cells of the flat epithelium and the cells of the squamocolumnar transformation zone (STZ) found in the uterine cervix and the anal canal, which is rich in heparan sulfate proteoglycans and integrin-like receptors. On the other hand, factors associated with the viral genotype, infection with multiple viruses, viral load, viral persistence, and type of integration determine the viral breakage pattern and the sites at which the virus integrates into the host cell genome (introns, exons, intergenic regions), inducing the loss of function of tumor suppressor genes and increasing oncogene expression. This review describes the role of viral integration and the molecular mechanisms induced by HR-HPV in different types of tissues. The purpose of this review is to identify the common factors associated with the role of integration events in the progression of premalignant lesions in different types of cancer.

The growing volume of waste worldwide is driving us to search for solutions to recycle waste and reduce material consumption. It is necessary to create models that stop the deterioration of the environmental condition and offer a transition to a more efficient economic system where resources are less intensively used. The EU needs to ensure the transition to a sustainable circular economy (CE), which provides for waste recycling and preserves the value of natural resources, raw materials, and goods produced in the market for as long as possible. A more efficient economic system would contribute significantly to the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development (SD) Agenda targeted until 2030. This topic has still to be addressed in the literature, so we aim to reduce the research gaps in the publications with this article. The authors selected and analysed the variables that mainly influenced waste recycling, which is part of CE processes. The paper assessed the relationship between resource productivity and waste recycling variables; a Vector Error Correction Model was used. The results allowed us to provide novel insights concerning CE challenges.

Foundation: Class II malocclusion has the highest prevalence among dentoskeletal disorders.Objective: to propose a care guide for patients with class II malocclusion with actively growing permanent dentition.Methods: a mixed approach technological innovation research was carried out in the Clinical Sciences Department from the Stomatology Faculty of the Villa Clara Medical Sciences University, from 2020 to 2023. The studied universe was all the Orthodontic specialists in the Villa Clara province, Sancti Spíritus and Cienfuegos, from which an intentional non-probabilistic sampling was carried out by criteria and the sample was made up of 20 specialists and seven experts (higher category specialists) with criteria of inclusion.Results: The reviewed documentation provided valuable information to determine the current state of care for malocclusion under study. Specialists issued different criteria on the diagnosis and treatment of class II malocclusion. The experts established the invariable elements for their classification. Finally, a care guide was designed for patients with class II malocclusion with actively growing permanent dentition, rated by specialists as excellent.Conclusions: the proposed guide contains invariable diagnostic elements and treatment guidelines in order to achieve more comprehensive and efficient malocclusion care.

Objetivo: Exponer los resultados de un diagnóstico académico aplicado a estudiantes del primer año de las carreras de ingeniería, utilizando métodos y técnicas de inteligencia artificial.Métodos: Se empleó la entrevista y la recopilación de datos, conformando una base de casos que toma en consideración atributos demográficos, socioeconómicos y académicos de los estudiantes. Se utilizan métodos teóricos, estadísticos y de minería de datos con el uso de técnicas de selección de atributos, algoritmos de clasificación y predicción para realizar dicho diagnóstico en un grupo de estudiantes.Resultados: Se aportó el diseño para la realización del diagnóstico académico. Además, en la aplicación del diagnóstico se identificaron que los atributos índices académico, centro de procedencia, escalafón y resultados de los exámenes de ingreso de matemática y español, son los que tienen mayor peso al momento de diagnosticar a los estudiantes del primer año de las ingenierías.Conclusiones: En esta investigación se aplicaron técnicas de inteligencia artificial para lograr predecir y diagnosticar a los estudiantes que cursan primer año en las especialidades de Eléctrica, Mecánica, Informática, Civil, Industrial, Química y Agronomía. Se demuestra la utilidad de aplicar diferentes modelos de inteligencia artificial al proceso de diagnóstico académico.

In this paper, we propose the notion of a transposed Poisson superalgebra. We prove that a transposed Poisson superalgebra can be constructed by means of a commutative associative superalgebra and an even degree derivation of this algebra. Making use of this, we construct two examples of the transposed Poisson superalgebra. One of them is the graded differential algebra of differential forms on a smooth finite dimensional manifold, where we use the Lie derivative as an even degree derivation. The second example is the commutative superalgebra of basic fields of the quantum YangâMills theory, where we use the BRST-supersymmetry as an even degree derivation to define a graded Lie bracket. We show that a transposed Poisson superalgebra has six identities that play an important role in the study of the structure of this algebra.

Only a few comprehensive studies have been carried out on parasites in amphibians and reptiles in Ukraine. This has resulted in identifying over 100 helminth species across these vertebrate groups. However, most of the studies were performed in the 20th century and the taxonomy of many parasites and their hosts has changed ever since, in addition to the discovery of new species and registrations of species that had not been previously known for Ukraine. In recent decades, there have been very few publications on helminths from amphibian or reptile hosts in this region. Notably, just one of these recent studies is a faunistic study, providing a list of helminths found in two species of green frogs – Pelophylax ridibundus (Pallas, 1771) and Pelophylax esculentus (Linnaeus, 1758). Therefore, it is clear that publishing datasets of modern records of helminths in these vertebrate groups, based on modern taxonomy, is an essential step in further studies of their parasitic diversity. Additionally, such study is important in terms of global climate change, the growing number of possibilities of invasion of alien species (both hosts and parasites) that might potentially become a threat to native biota and growing anthropogenic pressure on local populations of hosts that affect the parasites as well. In future, this study is planned to be used for the creation of a checklist of helminths of the herpetofauna of Ukraine. The present dataset is an inventory of various species of helminths parasitising common species of the herpetofauna in central, northern, western and southern Ukraine recorded during field studies in the 2021-2023 period.The dataset is the first one to represent the up-to-date and unified data on helminths of reptiles and amphibians of Ukraine. Previously, records of this group of organisms with reference to their hosts were presented as several separate records within the country. Currently, this is the largest dataset presenting geocoded records of non-human-related helminths in the fauna of Ukraine. It reports helminth species from 15 hosts (205 individuals), including eight amphibians and seven reptilian species found in various Ukrainian regions. A total of 47 helminth species have been documented in the research and during 2021-2023 period on the territory of northern (Kyiv and Zhytomyr), western (Lviv, Zakarpattia Ivano-Frankivsk), central (Vinnytsia, Dnipropetrovsk, Cherkasy, Zaporizhzhia and Poltava) and southern (Odesa) regions of Ukraine. The identified helminth species belong to the following phyla: Acanthocephala (Centrorhynchidae (2), Echinorhynchidae (2)); Nematoda (Acuariidae, Anisakidae, Cosmocercidae (3), Dioctophymatidae, Gnathostomatidae (1), Kathlanidae (1), Molineidae (7), Onchocercidae (1), Pharyngodonidae (1), Rhabdiasidae (6), Strongyloididae); Platyhelminthes (Diplodiscidae (1), Diplostomidae (2), Encyclometridae (1), Haematoloechidae (1), Leptophallidae (2), Macroderidae (1), Mesocestoididae, Opisthorchiidae (2), Plagiorchiidae (3), Pleurogenidae (2), Polystomatidae (3), Proteocephalidae (1), Strigeidae (1) and Telorchiidae (3)). Only some helminths in the dataset were not identified to species level. Material is stored in the collection of the department of Parasitology of the I. I. Schmalhausen Institute of Zoology NAS of Ukraine.

Freshwater ecosystems in Lithuania are threatened by the introduction of invasive fish species including Neogobius fluviatilis, N. melanostomus, Perccottus glenii, and Pseudorasbora parva. Data on helminth parasites of these fishes have not been comprehensively studied, with only two reports on parasites of N. melanostomus from the Curonian Lagoon and Baltic Sea, Lithuania. We examined 278 fish individuals representing 4 invasive species from 13 waterbodies. Using morphological and molecular analyses, we identified 29 helminth taxa representing 15 digenean trematodes, 6 nematodes, 4 cestodes, 2 acanthocephalans, and 2 monogeneans. With 18 species, N. fluviatilis had the highest helminth diversity, followed by N. melanostomus (11 species) and Ps. parva (8 species). Perccottus glenii was found to be free from helminth infection. The availability of historical information on the native fish parasites in Lithuania allowed us to conclude that out of the 29 recorded species, invasive fish serve as hosts for 22 local fish helminth species, while 7 helminth species have been reported exclusively in invasive fish. Based on newly obtained and previously published data, a total of 34 helminth species parasitise invasive fish in Lithuania, of which 30 use these fish as intermediate or paratenic hosts.

Introduction: Deglutition is a complex activity of evolutionary character that requires of an appropriate stomatologic care to maintain the balance of the stomatognathic system. Objective: To identify inadequacies in the comprehensive stomatologic care to children with deglutition disorders in primary health care. Methods: A descriptive and cross-sectional study was carried out, with mixed approach, of 24 comprehensive general stomatologists from Victoria Stomatologic Clinic in Santa Clara, Villa Clara province that were working during January-March, 2023 and had more than 3 years of professional experience, for which theoretical and empiric methods were used. The qualitative and quantitative analysis of the data was carried out by means of the absolute and relative frequencies. Results: In the revised normative-methodological documents are not explicitly reflected all the promotion and prevention activities, as well as the necessary aspects for the diagnosis and treatment of patients with deglutition disorders. Most of those interviewed (83.3%) identified deglutition as a habit; as long as, among the determining environmental factors there was little recognition of the kid position when eating (20.8 %), the use of tablespoon and glass (29.1 %) and nasal respiration (33.3 %). Equally, 50.0 % of the sample presented a medium level of knowledge. Conclusions: There are inadequacies in the comprehensive stomatologic care to children with deglutition disorders in primary health care.

Introducción: El cáncer de cabeza y cuello es la sexta forma más común de cáncer humano; constituye un reto, para la odontología reducir la mortalidad y la morbilidad por su causa, mediante el desarrollo de herramientas diagnósticas que lo detecten en sus primeras etapas. Objetivo: Describir el papel de los biomarcadores salivales como herramienta diagnóstica para la detección temprana de cáncer bucal. Desarrollo: Los biomarcadores salivales proporcionan información adicional a la obtenida en el estudio histopatológico de este tipo de cáncer y pueden constituir una herramienta de análisis no invasivo y de bajo costo en su diagnóstico precoz. Conclusiones: A pesar de que hasta la fecha no existe un biomarcador ideal para el diagnóstico temprano del cáncer bucal, los investigadores declaran un futuro prometedor en el uso de la saliva como fuente de biomarcadores para estas enfermedades, debido en gran parte, al contacto directo de la saliva con la mucosa oral y el avance tecnológico en el campo de la medicina molecular.

Introduction: It is necessary to apply action protocols as tools to homogenize regenerative periodontal plastic procedures and to establish the guidelines for the periodontist to approach gingival recession with this advanced therapeutic modality. Objective: To design a protocol for the treatment of gingival recession using platelet-rich fibrin membrane associated with coronal advancement flap. Methods: A research with a qualitative approach was carried out in the School of Stomatology of Villa Clara, from July 2020 to December 2021. For the design of the protocol, a preparation phase and an elaboration phase were used; within the latter, three moments were structured: systematic review of the literature, application of group techniques (focal and nominal group) and conclusion of the document. An evaluation by external specialists was carried out before finalizing the definitive structure of the protocol. Results: Five guides for the preparation of protocols, five medical and nursing care protocols and 10 stomatological protocols were consulted. The structure of the document consisted of: cover page, introduction, objectives, target professionals, target population, elaboration process, procedure, algorithm, implementation and revision date, implementation process, evaluation indicators, glossary and bibliographic references. Conclusions: An action protocol was designed that establishes the guidelines for carrying out the regenerative therapeutic procedure, from the selection of patients to the evolution of the therapy. The document was positively evaluated by external specialists.

El presente estudio tiene como objetivo analizar el contexto social y económico actual de las mipymes que forman parte de la cadena turística, en función de su capacidad de desarrollo y sostenibilidad en el mercado a partir de cuatro dimensiones: gestión contable, gestión de proyectos y de cooperación, gestión de marketing digital y gestión de talento humano y habilidades blandas emprendedoras, como parte de un estudio para el diseño de un modelo de formación base para los emprendedores turísticos. Este se aplicó en municipios de Sabana Centro y del Sumapaz, cuyos resultados se obtuvieron a partir de una muestra intencionada de 64 mipymes de la cadena turística, localizadas en dichas provincias del departamento de Cundinamarca. Se aplicó una metodología tipo exploratoria, con enfoque descriptivo, apoyada en la investigación acción participativa de los actores de la cadena. En los resultados obtenidos, se evidenció la persistente brecha digital en el sector productivo, así como la falta de una sólida cultura organizacional que contribuya de manera efectiva al rendimiento empresarial. Se destaca especialmente la desconexión existente entre los empresarios y el manejo de los acontecimientos económicos a través de la contabilidad, revelando una carencia en la toma de decisiones basada en la realidad económica debido a la ausencia de instrumentos contables como guías para la planificación y gestión de riesgos económicos. Este distanciamiento se traduce en una limitada gestión para la distribución del riesgo de inversión por parte de los propietarios, quienes enfrentan dificultades significativas en la formulación de proyectos. Esta dificultad, a su vez, repercute en la falta de acceso a financiamiento mixto o a alianzas público-privadas, lo que representa una oportunidad desaprovechada para fortalecer y potenciar los negocios empresariales

Foundation: the association of the platelet-rich fibrin membrane with the coronal replacement flap constitutes a modality of tissue engineering that provides regenerative elements to the tissue repair process.Objective: to evaluate the effectiveness of the platelet-rich fibrin membrane associated with the coronal repositioning flap in the treatment of periodontal recession three years later.Methods: a quasi-experiment was carried out at the Villa Clara Dentistry Faculty, from March 2017 to July 2020, a study population of 46 patients with periodontal recession, who required root coverage using the replacement flap coronal. Intentional non-probabilistic sampling by criteria was used, and the sample of 26 patients. Study sites and control sites were established. The studied variables were: age, sex, recession length, Miller classification, root coverage, width and gain of the attached gingiva, evaluation categories and treatment effectiveness.Results: in 88.68% of the teeth located in the study sites, the favorable evaluation category predominated. The effectiveness percentage three years after treatment was higher in the study sites (54.71%).Conclusions: the treatment of periodontal recession with platelet-rich fibrin membrane associated with the coronal replacement flap was considered more effective three years after the procedure.

El artículo presenta el análisis de los resultados de la encuesta diagnóstica aplicada a los semilleristas de investigación de la Facultad de Ciencias Administrativas, Económicas y Contables, de la Universidad de Cundinamarca en Colombia, en el marco del diseño de una Escuela de Formación Semillerista. Este instrumento, hace parte del desarrollo de una investigación macro, con una propuesta a presentar denominada Escuela de Formación de Semilleristas de Investigación, en el propósito de fortalecer sus competencias hacia el manejo y apropiación de elementos de la ciencia, tecnología e innovación, que contribuyan de manera más directa a la gestión de los grupos y líderes de investigación universitaria. En el marco del proyecto, se empleó una metodología de investigación cualitativa y experimental, tomando un grupo piloto de semilleristas para hacerles una encuesta diagnóstica y capacitarlas durante dos meses en los componentes centrales de elementos y transferencia de investigación; escritura y publicación de investigación y ruta de acción semillerista. En articulación con el modelo educativo de la Universidad de Cundinamarca. Dentro de los principales resultados de la encuesta diagnóstica, se encuentra que, para un total de 98 semilleristas de investigación participantes, la necesidad de capacitación es fundamental y debe ser permanente, aunque la frecuencia y modalidad de las reuniones con su docente investigador líder del semillero no sea constante. La principal conclusión extraída de este análisis consiste en afirmar que la formación de los semilleristas de investigación, mediante un proceso de aula virtual, puede facilitar la actividad de investigación de un docente líder de semillero, dada la posibilidad de ahorro de tiempo en el proceso de enseñanza en conceptos de ciencia, tecnología e innovación con una inversión en el aprendizaje exploratorio del estudiante, en relación con el entorno, estimulando e impulsando a que sus estudiantes semilleristas contribuyan de manera más concreta con la transferencia y visibilidad, con grandes oportunidades para la generación de nuevo conocimiento (a través de trabajos de investigación, ponencias, artículos y aporte en capítulos de libros). Por lo anterior, una Escuela de Formación de Semilleristas de Investigación sugiere diseñarse acorde con las realidades de las nuevas generaciones ávidas de investigar, aprovechando el uso de herramientas tecnológicas vigentes.

La gestión de la calidad de la Educación Superior en el mundo es un proceso vital para el logro de una cultura de mejora continua, en beneficio de la sociedad. Por ello, garantizar la calidad es un reto, tanto para los integrantes de la comunidad universitaria, como para los encargados de evaluarla y acreditarla. Este artículo tuvo como objetivo describir las principales herramientas para la gestión de la calidad, a través de sus rasgos distintivos, para su alcance en la universidad. Se emplearon los métodos del nivel teórico: histórico-lógico, analítico-sintético, hipotético-deductivo y sistémico-estructural. La contribución de analistas en el tema y las valoraciones formuladas, permitieron ofrecer como resultados nuevas ideas sobre un asunto en permanente debate.

El envejecimiento es su largo proceso de carácter universal propio de los seres vivos. Es notorio su crecimiento a nivel de la población mundial y no resulta exclusivo para los países desarrollados. El paciente anciano presenta grandes retos debido a las alteraciones propiciadas por el proceso de envejecimiento que se acompaña de disminución de la capacidad de respuesta con deterioro en grado desigual de una serie de funciones morfofisiológicas, psicológicas y bioquímicas. Por otra parte, la atención médica a pacientes portadores de afecciones quirúrgicas de urgencia desata desafíos al equipo de trabajo ante la necesidad de brindar al enfermo una asistencia con un mínimo de preparación, lo que conlleva identificar estado de salud en un periodo de tiempo aceptable, lograr una estabilización previa al acto quirúrgico y favorecer una recuperación satisfactoria. Por tales razones se realizó esta revisión bibliográfica con el propósito de resaltar una serie de factores que acompañan el proceso de envejecimiento y sus implicaciones para el proceder anestésico.

Проблематика.Блискучі гальванічні нікелеві покриття з підвищеним умістом сульфуру є менш корозійностійкими, ніж матові. Особливо сильного корозійного руйнування блискучі нікелеві покриття зазнають в умовах, що імітують вологий тропічний клімат і характеризуються наявністю випарів оцтової кислоти. Мета дослідження. Дослідити корозійну стійкість гальванічних нікелевих осадів у концентрованій оцтовій кислоті та її випарах, а також електрохімічну активність сульфід вмісних продуктів корозії блискучих нікелевих покриттів. Методика реалізації. Потенціодинамічну та циклічну вольт-амперометрію застосовано, щоби дослідити електрохімічну активність гальванічних нікелевих покриттівіпродуктів їх корозії. Швидкість корозії гальванічних нікелевих осадів визначено гравіметричним методом. Дослідження морфології поверхні та складу гальванічних осадів проведено за допомогою сканувальної електронної мікроскопії ірентгенофлюоресцентного аналізу. Результати дослідження. Про підвищену електрохімічну активність сульфідних продуктів корозії блискучих нікелевих покриттів свідчать на порядок вищі значення катодних густин струмі в циклічних вольт-амперних кривих (ЦВАК),у порівнянні з блискучими та матовими нікелевими гальванічними осадами, отриманими в ацетатних буферних розчинах. Показано, що сульфідні продукти корозії блискучих нікелевих покриттів, нанесені на основу з матової нікелевої фольги, збільшують швидкість її корозії заекспонування в концентрованій оцтовій кислоті та її випарах. Висновки. Виявлено значний вплив сульфуру на інтенсифікацію корозії гальванічних нікелевих осадів у концентрованій оцтовій кислоті та її випарах. Зокрема, це можна пояснити розкладанням в оцтовій кислоті сульфіду нікелю, що входить до складу покриття. Сульфур у ступені окислення (–2) взаємодіє з пасивуючими оксидними покривами з утворенням адсорбованого моно шару, що й призводить до переходу нікелю в активний стан. Подальші дослідження будуть спрямовані на глибше вивчення електрохімічних властивостей продуктів корозії блискучих нікелевих покриттів.

La urgente necesidad de desarrollar y producir vacunas seguras y efectivas para garantizar la reducción de la propagación del coronavirus de tipo 2 causante del síndrome respiratorio agudo severo, hizo que el Centro de Inmunología Molecular y el Instituto Finlay de Vacunas, desarrollaran dos vacunas y un candidato vacunal contra la COVID-19, que tienen como componente la molécula del dominio de unión al receptor (aa 319-541) del virus. Para establecer el proceso productivo, se realizaron experimentos en los posibles pasos del proceso de purificación de la molécula del dominio de unión al receptor (aa 319-541), con vistas a su posterior transferencia tecnológica a escala industrial. Dicha molécula está fusionada con una etiqueta de hexahistidina en su extremo C-terminal y presenta nueve residuos de cisteína en su secuencia que forman cuatro enlaces disulfuros intramoleculares, quedando una cisteína libre que permite obtener dos moléculas: dimérica y monomérica, antígenos que forman parte de las vacunas SOBERANA®02 y SOBERANA®Plus y el candidato vacunal SOBERANA 01. Se determinaron las mejores condiciones de adsorción de las matrices cromatográficas de afinidad por quelatos metálicos, intercambio catiónico y exclusión molecular. Se evaluó el desempeño del proceso a escala piloto y se caracterizó la molécula de acuerdo a sus propiedades físico-químicas y biológicas. Los resultados obtenidos mostraron un 60,02 ± 5,15% de recuperación total de la proteína de interés, con más del 98% de pureza en ambas moléculas, una eficiente remoción de contaminantes y una antigenicidad mayor del 90% referido al monómero control del dominio de unión al receptor con 99% de pureza, lo que demuestra que el proceso establecido es eficiente en la obtención de un producto con la calidad requerida.

The local deposition process from copper sulfate electrolyte was investigated depending on nozzle moving speed and additive concentration in the electrolyte. A 2×2 cm square model was created and sliced in Ultimaker Cura software, uploaded in a 3D printer, and printed from the copper electrolyte on the stainless-steel surface. Low additive concentration in the electrolyte was found to influence dendrite formation in the corner sections of a square model. Nozzle movement speed was found to influence the deposition area and the thickness of the metal. The lowest tested nozzle movement speed of 5 s / voxel increased the deposition area by nearly 40 % in horizontal direction compared to 2.5 s / voxel. Further increase of nozzle movement speed to 1.6 s / voxel does not change the deposition area. The thickness in the corners increases by 2.5 times compared to the straight section of the square when the nozzle movement speed increases from 5 to 1.6 s / voxel. The non-uniform thickness of the deposited metal is caused by a considerable reduction of nozzle movement speed when it moves through the corner. The results obtained in this work can be further used to develop electrochemical 3D printing technology.

Introducción: en el vigente artículo se analizan la depresión, variables sociodemográficas y su asociación entre ellas en adultos mayores en el Perú. Materiales y métodos: se usó un estudio transversal, descriptivo y correlacional a una muestra de 5247 adultos mayores. Se empleó los datos generados por la “Encuesta Demográfica y de Salud” (ENDES) del año 2019 , utilizando el instrumento de investigación: Patient Healtth Questionnarie (PHQ) de nueve preguntas y las variables sociodemográficas, incluidos en los cuestionarios de salud, características del hogar y la vivienda, de la ENDES 2019. Para el estudio estadístico se usó el modelo de regresión logística múltiple, para establecer si existía asociación entre depresión y variables sociodemográficas. Resultados: Los resultados señalan que el 36.7 por ciento de las personas de 60 años a más presenta un nivel de depresión de leve a grave. Asimismo, se encontró que la depresión y las variables sociodemográficas (consumo problemático de alcohol, nivel de instrucción, discapacidad, diabetes, índice de riqueza, sexo y grupo etario) están relacionadas; sin embargo, no están relacionadas con las variables hábito de fumar, presión arterial, obesidad, tener pareja y lugar de residencia. Conclusiones: la depresión está relacionado con algunas variables sociodemográficas consideradas en este estudio.
