There is no data in the literature on the course of myocardial infarction in patients after COVID-19. Purpose to use a clinical example to present a case of postinfarction left ventricular aneurysm in a patient after undergoing COVID-19. Materials and methods: Patient T., 49 years old, was admitted to the federal state budgetary institution Federal Center of Cardiovascular Surgery of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation (Astrakhan) with complaints of pain in the heart with irradiation in the left shoulder and lower jaw. Considers himself ill for 7 days. It is known from anamnesis of life that the patient suffered COVID-19 two weeks ago. He has been suffering from arterial hypertension for a year. Results: A clinical example demonstrates that COVID-19 affects course of myocardial infarction: it is a risk factor for the development of post infarction aneurysm of the left ventricle in the early stages after a myocardial infarction. Myocardial infarction was accompanied by the formation of pathological Q waves, impaired conduction of the right leg of the Gis bundle a decrease in the ejection fraction of the left ventricle, acute occlusion of the right coronary artery. Postinfarction aneurysm of the left ventricle had an anterior-septal apical localization. In addition, the study of highly sensitive troponin T and N-terminal fragment of the pro-brain natriuretic peptide type B in patients with myocardial infarction complicated by postinfarction aneurysm of the left ventricle after COVID-19 is also important for determining the stages of development of pathological processes in this pathology, evaluating the effectiveness of therapy and the outcome of this pathology.

Background. The COVID-19 pandemic has become a substantial global health crisis, unparalleled in world history. Infection dynamics can have specific characteristics in different countries due to social, economic, climatic, or geographic factors. Aim: to study features of SARS-CoV-2 collective immunity among the Armenian population. Materials and methods. A cross-sectional, randomized study of collective immunity was carried out according to a program developed by Rospotrebnadzor and the St. Petersburg Pasteur Institute, taking into account WHO recommendations. The study was approved by the ethics committees of the National Center for Infectious Diseases (Armenia) and the St. Petersburg Pasteur Institute (Russia). A volunteer cohort was formed (N = 6057), randomized by age and region. The studys analysis included: shares and distributions of antibodies (Abs) to nucleocapsid (Nc) antigen (Ag) and receptor binding domain (RBD) S-1 Ag in the cohort; and quantitative determination of these Abs by ELISA. During the survey, a history of vaccination was indicated by 4395 people. Results. Overall seropositivity formed in the whole cohort (by April 14, 2022) was 98.6% (95% CI: 98.198.7). It did not depend on age, place of residence, or occupation. When quantifying Nc and RBD Abs, the proportions of volunteers with Nc Ab levels of 117 BAU/ml and RBD Ab levels of 22.6220 BAU/ml were the smallest, amounting to 6.9% (95% CI: 6.27.5) and 20.4% (95% CI: 19.421.4), respectively. With increasing serum concentrations (Nc 667 BAU/ml, RBD 450 BAU/ml), the proportions of individuals with the corresponding levels were 20.2% for Nc (95% CI: 19.221.3) and 54.2% for RBD (95% CI: 52.955.5). Vaccination coverage was 72.6% (95% CI: 71.573.7). The most frequently used were Sinopharm/BIBP (32.4%), AZD1222 (22.3%), and Gam-COVID-Vac (21%). The remaining vaccines (CoronaVac, mRNA-1273, BNT162b2, CoviVac) were used by 24.3% of vaccinated individuals. When summing vaccines by platform, it was found that: vector vaccines were used in 40.34% (95% CI: 33.5742.39) of cases; whole-virion vaccines were used in 26.83% (95% CI: 24.7632.20); and vector vaccines were used in 6.33% (95% CI: 4.848.91). Conclusion. The epidemic situation in Armenia by April 2022 was characterized by a high level of collective immunity, independent of age or regional factors. Vector and whole-virion vaccines have been used most widely.

Background. The role of the VKORC1 (1639GA, rs9923231) gene polymorphism in hypersensitivity to warfarin and hypocoagulation is known. It has been proven that polymorphisms in the VKORC1 gene can lead to the progression of atherosclerosis and hypercoagulability, and, therefore, can be factors contributing to the development of acute coronary syndrome. Aim. To study the effect of polymorphic genotypes carriage of the VKORC1 gene on the clinical and laboratory parameters of patients with acute coronary syndrome. Material and methods. The pilot observational cross-sectional study involved 77 patients who were under observation in the conditions of the Federal Center for Cardiovascular Surgery in Astrakhan and the vascular center of Kirov City Hospital No. 3 (Astrakhan), from October 2020 to May 2021. Genotyping for CYP2C9, VKORC1, CYP4F2 on a PCR analyzer was performed. For statistical processing, the HardyWeinberg and Student criteria; 95% confidence interval were determined using Statistica Trial 13 and IBM SPSS Statistics 26.0. Differences were considered statistically significant at p 0.05. Results. Significant differences related to the frequency of hemodynamically significant stenosis in homozygous carriers of the GG gene for VKORC1 compared with the group of carriers of the GA genotype 3 (8.8%) versus 7 (22.5%); p=0.0058. Carriers of the GA and GG genotypes were most often diagnosed with myocardial infarction (Q- and non-Q-forming). Carriers of the AA genotype were more likely to have new or progressive angina pectoris. The level of hyperglycemia and triglyceridemia was the highest in the group of patients with the AA genotype, VKORC1 gene. Conclusion. Statistically significant differences were established in the clinical and laboratory parameters of patients with acute coronary syndrome, carriers of different genotypes of the VKORC1 gene.

A comparative study of the electronic structure of the salen ligand in the H2(Salen) molecule and the [Ni(Salen)] complex was performed using the experimental methods of XPS, UV PES, and NEXAFS spectroscopy along with DFT calculations. Significant chemical shifts of +1.0 eV (carbon), +1.9 eV (nitrogen), and −0.4 eV (oxygen) were observed in the 1s PE spectra of the salen ligand atoms when passing from a molecule to a complex, unambiguously indicating a substantial redistribution of the valence electron density between these atoms. It is proposed that the electron density transfer to the O atoms in [Ni(Salen)] occurred not only from the Ni atom, but also from the N and C atoms. This process seemed to be realized through the delocalized conjugated π-system of the phenol C 2p electronic states of the ligand molecule. The DFT calculations (total and partial DOS) for the valence band H2(Salen) and [Ni(Salen)] described well the spectral shape of the UV PE spectra of both compounds and confirmed their experimental identification. An analysis of the N and O 1s NEXAFS spectra clearly indicated that the atomic structure of the ethylenediamine and phenol fragments was retained upon passing from the free salen ligand to the nickel complex.

Background. The course of the COVID-19 epidemic process depends on population immunity which prevents pathogen spread among the population. Aim: to study the evolution of SARS-CoV-2 humoral immunity in the Belarusian population relative to COVID-19 pandemic dynamics. Materials and methods. The work was carried out according to a methodology for assessing population immunity developed by Rospotrebnadzor (Russia) and the Belarusian Ministry of Health with the participation of the St. Petersburg Pasteur Institute (SPPI), taking into account WHO recommendations. The study was approved by the Bioethics Committee of Belarus and the SPPI Bioethics Committee. Participant selection was carried out by questionnaire using a cloud (internet server) service. To monitor population immunity, a cohort of 4,661 people (participating in all stages of seromonitoring) was formed from the overall volunteer group. Volunteers were randomized by age group (1-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+ years), region, and professional group. For the detection of antibodies (Abs) to nucleocapsid (Nc) and S glycoprotein receptor-binding domain (RBD), corresponding assay systems were used following manufacturer instructions. The study was conducted in 4 stages according to a single scheme. Results. In the 1st stage (pandemic month 15), collective immunity was due mainly to Nc+RBD+ Ab status alone. By the 2nd stage (carried out after 4 months), their share decreased 1.2-fold, while the share of volunteers who had only RBD Abs increased 1.7-fold. In the 3rd and 4th stages (carried out after 9 and 19 months), the share of persons with RBD+Nc‒ compared to the 2nd stage decreased by 3.5%; the proportion of persons with Nc+RBD‒ Abs increased by 1.5-fold. The most important factor in population immunity was vaccination of the population, the coverage of which reached 70% by the 4th stage. Among vaccines, the Sputnik V and Sputnik Light vector designs were used most often. The whole-virion, inactivated BIBP-CorV vaccine was used less often. Conclusion. The evolution of collective SARS-CoV-2 humoral immunity included a set of changes in circulating Ab levels (Nc, RBD). The hybrid immunity formed helped to reduce the incidence to nearly zero.

The purpose of the study is to explore the promising tasks of developing integrated accounting, analysis and audit in the context of the digitalization of society. The research methodology is based on the combination of using the following methods: legal analysis, system analysis and synthesis, comparative, structural-functional, typological types of analysis. The work uses elements of country-specific, program-targeted, systemic approaches and comparative analysis to assess priority areas for the development of accounting, analysis and audit in the context of the digitalization of society. As a result, the expected synergistic effect from combining accounting, analysis and audit into a single information system was determined; proposals and recommendations were given to expand the range of accounting, analytical and control information in the context of the digitalization of society; increase its transparency, analyticity and efficiency.

Available pyrrolylalkynones with tetrahydroindolyl, cycloalkanopyrrolyl, and dihydrobenzo[g]indolyl moieties, acylethynylcycloalka[b]pyrroles, are readily annulated with Δ1-pyrrolines (MeCN/THF, 70 °C, 8 h) to afford a series of novel pyrrolo[1′,2′:2,3]imidazo[1,5-a]indoles and cyclohepta[4,5]pyrrolo[1,2-c]pyrrolo[1,2-a]imidazoles functionalized with an acylethenyl group in up to an 81% yield. This original synthetic approach contributes to the arsenal of chemical methods promoting drug discovery. Photophysical studies show that some of the synthesized compounds, e.g., benzo[g]pyrroloimidazoindoles, are prospective candidates for TADF emitters of OLED.

Dystrophin is essential for muscle health: its sarcolemmal absence causes the fatal, X-linked condition, Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD). However, its normal, spatial organization remains poorly understood, which hinders the interpretation of efficacy of its therapeutic restoration. Using female reporter mice heterozygous for fluorescently tagged dystrophin ( Dmd EGFP ), we here reveal that dystrophin distribution is unexpectedly compartmentalized, being restricted to myonuclear-defined sarcolemmal territories extending ~80 µm, which we called “basal sarcolemmal dystrophin units (BSDUs).” These territories were further specialized at myotendinous junctions, where both Dmd transcripts and dystrophin protein were enriched. Genome-level correction in X-linked muscular dystrophy mice via CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing restored a mosaic of separated dystrophin domains, whereas transcript-level Dmd correction, following treatment with tricyclo-DNA antisense oligonucleotides, restored dystrophin initially at junctions before extending along the entire fiber—with levels ~2% sufficient to moderate the dystrophic process. We conclude that widespread restoration of fiber dystrophin is likely critical for therapeutic success in DMD, perhaps most importantly, at muscle–tendon junctions.

Theoretical analysis was used in this article to define the concepts of a teenager’s social deviation prevention and the degree of elaboration of the issue in question in the literature. Via modeling, the authors described sections of the psychological and pedagogical foundations of preventive work at school. Mathematical methods were used for processing and presenting the course fragment introduction results. General logical methods were applied for the work text design, conclusion formulation. Future teachers’ readiness for preventive work is characterized; the theory key points and methods of prevention of social deviations at schools are presented; the developed content introduction into work with students receiving pedagogical education with two educational profiles (majoring in “Primary Education and Life Safety”, based on material from the pedagogy course) is described; methodological recommendations for teaching the course are highlighted.

BACKGROUND: In the system of medical and social expertise and rehabilitation of disabled people, the solution of issues of employment, socialization, improvement of the level and quality of their life becomes obviously relevant. AIMS: To study and analyze the needs of disabled people in vocational rehabilitation, including employment and the creation of special jobs, in a comparative aspect - in St. Petersburg and the Russian Federation. MATERIAL AND METHODS. The materials of the study were data from Rosstat of Russia, official state statistical reporting: Forms 7-sobes "Information on medical and social expertise of persons aged 18 and older" for 20152019. RESULTS: The article analyzes the indicators of primary disability and the needs of disabled people in vocational rehabilitation activities based on the study of the individual rehabilitation or habilitation program (IPRA) for disabled people in Saint Petersburg and the Russian Federation in dynamics over five years (20152019). An analysis of the needs for vocational rehabilitation measures, taking into account its structure in IPRA (vocational guidance and employment) and the disability group, was carried out. Since the greatest difficulties arise in the selection and organization of jobs for people with disabilities of groups I and II, the needs of people with disabilities in creating a special workplace have been studied. The necessity of solving organizational, methodological, and financial issues when creating special jobs for the disabled is emphasized. CONCLUSION: The implementation of the state program "Accessible environment" and its subprograms aimed at creating models of employment of disabled people in the regions of the Russian Federation requires taking into account the territorial characteristics of the prevalence of primary disability and the specifics of the regional labor market in the employment of disabled people.

Авторы полагают, что воспитание любви к Родине может осуществляться ежеминутно ‒ посещая музеи, комнаты боевой славы, проводя мероприятия военного характера; просматривая кинофильмы, телепередачи, рассказывающие о событиях и людях, которыми Россия может гордиться, любви к своей земле, национальных корнях, знаменитом русском духе. Материал проекта позволят детям разносторонне узнать судьбу своей Родины и республики.

Methods for the preparation of two highly flexible synthetic building blocks, namely pyrrole/aminoenone and pyrrole/aminoacrylonitrile ensembles, on the basis of available starting materials such as 2-acylethynylpyrroles or pyrrole-2-carbodithioates, are summarized. The presence of several reactive centers in their molecules (pyrrole ring, enamine and carbonyl or nitrile moieties) ensures their multiple reactivity and application as versatile intermediates in the synthesis of heterocyclic ensembles such as pyrrolyl pyridines, bipyrroles, pyrrolyl-isoxazoles and condensed compounds, such as pyrrolo[3,2-a]pyrazines, pyrrolizines, which have high potential for use in medical chemistry and materials science.

The article discusses the problem of choosing ways and means of pragmatic adaptation in translating a text. The relevance of the topic is due to the necessity to facilitate cross-cultural communication in view of the increased intensity and diversity of forms of international contacts. The definition of pragmatic adaptation as the actions of a translator aimed at adapting the source language text to its perception by a recipient belonging to a different culture, does not answer the questions of when and how a translator can and should change the text in order to preserve the pragmatic potential of the original. The aim of the article is to analyze the problems arising in translating texts requiring pragmatic adaptation and evaluate the impact of different types of pragmatic adaptation on reproducing the pragmatic potential of the original and achieving the possible purposes of translation. In order to do it an experiment was carried out: a text was translated in four different ways with different means used for its pragmatic adaptation, and the translations were compared. The results of the experiment show that the choice of pragmatic adaptation methods and techniques is determined not by the type of text or the type of adaptation, as is usually believed, but by the specific purpose for which the text is translated. Thus, when translating a literary text, which always contains factual, conceptual, emotional, aesthetic, and cultural information, the choice between the naturalness of the text, the preservation of the author’s style, the completeness of the content and the communication of culturally relevant information means, in fact, setting different accents. The means of pragmatic adaptation used by the translator depend entirely on the prioritization of these types of information, in other words, on the purpose of translation.

Transcriptomic studies have revealed a large number of uncharacterized genes that are differentially expressed in biofilms, which may be important in regulating biofilm phenotypes such as resistance to antimicrobial agents. To identify biofilm genes of unknown function in P. aeruginosa, we made use of RNA-seq and selected 27 uncharacterized genes that were induced upon biofilm growth. Biofilms by respective mutants were subsequently analyzed for two biofilm characteristics, the biofilm architecture and drug susceptibility. The screen revealed 12 out of 27 genes to contribute to biofilm formation and 13 drug susceptibility, with 8 genes affecting both biofilm phenotypes. Amongst the genes affecting both biofilm phenotypes was PA2146, encoding a small hypothetical protein that exhibited some of the most substantial increases in transcript abundance during biofilm growth by P. aeruginosa PAO1 and clinical isolates. PA2146 is highly conserved in ɣ-proteobacteria. Inactivation of PA2146 affected both biofilm phenotypes in P. aeruginosa PAO1, with inactivation of homologs in Klebsiella pneumoniae and Escherichia coli having similar effects. Heterologous expression of PA2146 homologs complemented the P. aeruginosa ∆PA2146, suggesting that PA2146 homologs substitute for and play a similar role as PA2146 in P. aeruginosa.

This article refers to the memoirs of Countess Praskovya Sergeevna Uvarova as the source that sheds light on the peasant reform of 1861 in the Uvarovs family estate, as well as allows assessing the degree of participation of the representatives of enlightened society in the Great Reforms of 1860s–1870s, determines the impact of these reforms upon the personal story of the author of memoirs. Understanding the events of everyday life alongside the scale of the figure of Countess P. S. Uvarova of the selected source are valuable for reconstructing the landmark events and processes in the country, one of which was the abolition of serfdom in 1861. The article employs biographical method to reconstruct the personal story of P. S. Uvarova and the historical events of that time through her emotional experiences. This opens a new perspective on the events of the past. Analysis of the source describes all the stages of the reform, from the announcement of the Manifesto of February 19, 1861 and response of the enlightened society, to the measures on land development is a single county through the prism of the direct participant of these events.

Heme-Nitric oxide and Oxygen binding protein domains (H-NOX) are found in signaling pathways of both prokaryotes and eukaryotes and share sequence homology with soluble guanylate cyclase, the mammalian NO receptor. In bacteria, H-NOX is associated with kinase or methyl accepting chemotaxis domains. In the O2-sensor of the strict anaerobe Caldanaerobacter tengcongensis (Ct H-NOX) the heme appears highly distorted after O2 binding, but the role of heme distortion in allosteric transitions was not yet evidenced. Here, we measure the dynamics of the heme distortion triggered by the dissociation of diatomics from Ct H-NOX using transient electronic absorption spectroscopy in the picosecond to millisecond time range. The valence band photoemission (VB PE) spectra of the [Ni(Salen)] molecular complex were measured by ultraviolet, soft X-ray and resonant photoemission (ResPE) using photons with energies ranging from 21.2 eV to 860 eV. It was found that the Ni 3d atomic orbitals’ (AOs) contributions are most significant for molecular orbitals (MOs), which are responsible for the low-energy PE band at a binding energy of 3.8 eV in the VB PE spectra. In turn, the PE bands in the binding energies range of 8–16 eV are due to the photoionization of the MOs of the [Ni(Salen)] complex with dominant contributions from C 2p AOs. A detailed consideration was made for the ResPE spectra obtained using photons with absorption resonance energies in the Ni 2p3/2, N 1s, and O 1s Near-Edge X-ray Absorption Fine Structure (NEXAFS) spectra. A strong increase in the intensity of the PE band ab was found when using photons with an energy 854.4 eV in the Ni 2p3/2 NEXAFS spectrum. This finding is due to the high probability of the participator-Auger decay of the Ni 2p3/2−13d9 excitation and confirms the relationship between the PE band ab with the Ni 3d-derived MOs.

Studies on the identification, properties and function of chitin in sponges (Porifera), which are recognized as the first multicellular organisms on Earth, continue to be of fundamental scientific interest. The occurrence of chitin has so far been reported in 21 marine sponge species and only in two inhabiting fresh water. In this study, we present the discovery of α-chitin in the endemic demosponge Ochridaspongia rotunda, found in Lake Ohrid, which dates from the Tertiary. The presence of chitin in this species was confirmed using special staining, a chitinase test, FTIR, Raman and NEXAFS spectroscopy, and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS). In contrast to the case of marine sponges, chitin in O. rotunda has been found only within its holdfast, suggesting a role of chitin in the attachment of the sponge to the hard substratum. Isolated fibrous matter strongly resemble the shape and size of the sponge holdfast with membrane-like structure.

The study investigates how surgery during pregnancy, i.e., sham operation associated with embryo transfer, affects hypertensive phenotype in ISIAH rats genetically predisposed to hypertension. ISIAH rats born after maternal surgery at fourth day of pregnancy were compared with naturally conceived controls. Surgery during pregnancy in ISIAH rats caused acceleration of neurodevelopment in young offspring, as well as aggravating hypertension, suppressing exploratory activity, reducing hippocampal BDNF expression, and compensatory increasing of hippocampal neuronal density in adult ISIAH offspring. Maternal surgery during early pregnancy caused alterations in offspring phenotype in hypertensive ISIAH rat model.

Border sheep disease - viral congenital disease of sheep and goats that occurs during infection of pregnant ewes, characterized by lesions of the reproductive organs (abortions, stillbirths, infertility, birth of nonviable, mummified, undeveloped and ugly lambs) and organs of the immune system, growth retardation of newborn lambs, pathology of myelogenesis. The name of the disease was determined by the place of registration of the disease in 1959, in the border zone between England and Wales. Sheep border disease is considered to be one of the most common infections, causing great economic damage to cattle breeding worldwide. Infection of susceptible animals can proceed after the use of Pestivirus contaminated modified live virus vaccines. Border disease causative agent spreads with persistently infected animals. Border disease virus transmission can occur in mixed grazing of large horned cattle with infected sheep and goats and vice versa. Border disease virus was also isolated from deer, roe deer and other wild ruminants. 70-80% of lymphocytes in experimentally infected sheep contain the virus. Immunodeficiency state is detected in ruminants infected with border disease. The survival rate of offspring ranged from 59% to 88% during experimental infection with the border disease virus of pregnant ewes. The causative agent of border disease has negligible pathogenicity for pigs, but is highly pathogenic for large horned cattle, and cause potentially serious disorders of reproduction.

The article is devoted to the analysis to the study of neologisms as an integral part of texts of different genres written by Catherine II. The problem is considered to be urgent as it can be useful for the study of history and historical processes in the Russian language, for to description of the linguistic-cognitive level of the linguistic personality of the empress, her picture of the world. The authors studies the reasons of the emergence of neologisms the texts of Catherine the Great, reveals the reasons that affected their usage in the texts. The authors studies the ways of neologisms formation. The concept of the term “stylistic neologism” is considered and the classification of methods of formation of the words is given. Suffixation, prefixation and stem composition methods are described as the most widely used ways for the neologisms to be formed. A productive way to form adjectives in the works of Catherine II is suffixation (suffixes -лив-, -тельн-). Suffixes -ниц-, -льниц-, -ство- are the most common productive way to form nouns. New verbs are formed by adding to the abstract or concrete noun the word-derivative suffix typical for verbs -ирова-. The desire of Catherine the Great for emotionality leads to creating of a large number of words with diminutive suffixes -ечк-, -еньк-, -оньк-, -ушк-, -юшк-. It is revealed that the individual stylistic neologisms of the empress-writer help Catherine the Great to characterize an object or phenomenon better, to emphasize the conceptual element, quality and ideological concept of the created word, necessary in a certain communicative situation.

The article is devoted to the analysis of the gender specificity of the language personality of Catherine the Second through the study of the lexical and grammatical features of her texts. The novelty of the study consists in studying the linguistic personality of a politician in a diachronic aspect and in describing the features of the linguistic personality of Catherine II through the prism of her gender specificity. The reconstruction of the main personality features of Catherine II through comprehensive, multilevel analysis of language tools allows us to identify the psychological, pragmatic, cognitive, gender aspects of the speech behavior of the Russian Empress, the specifics of her linguistic picture of the world due to bio-socio-psychological personality data and ideological and thematic originality of her works of various genres. A study of the texts of Catherine the Second showed that the empress depicts her feelings, feelings, emotions figuratively, trying to emphasize and artistically highlight the meaning of a word depending on her communicative situation. It was proved that the empress’s gender also determines the fact that in the works of Catherine II of any genre a large number of lexical and semantic groups of words (nouns, adjectives, verbs) of feelings, perception and mental state are represented. One of the main signs of the author’s gender affiliation is the usage of a large number of metaphors, epithets, vivid comparisons and personifications, etc. The study revealed that the most important trend in female speech behavior is “increased emotionality and the desire to evaluate the activities of others”.

Williams-Beuren syndrome, characterized by numerous physiological and mental problems, is caused by the heterozygous deletion of chromosome region 7q11.23, which results in the disappearance of 26 protein-coding genes. Protein WBSCR27 is a product of one of these genes whose biological function has not yet been established and for which structural information has been absent until now. Using NMR, we investigated the structural and functional properties of murine WBSCR27. For protein in the apo form and in a complex with S-(5'-adenosyl)-l-homocysteine (SAH), a complete NMR resonance assignment has been obtained and the secondary structure has been determined. This information allows us to attribute WBSCR27 to Class I methyltransferases. The interaction of WBSCR27 with the cofactor S-(5'-adenosyl)-l-methionine (SAM) and its metabolic products - SAH, 5'-deoxy-5'-methylthioadenosine (MTA) and 5'-deoxyadenosine (5'dAdo) - was studied by NMR and isothermal titration calorimetry. SAH binds WBSCR27 much tighter than SAM, leaving open the question of cofactor turnover in the methylation reaction. One possible answer to this question is the presence of weak but detectable nucleosidase activity for WBSCR27. We found that the enzyme catalyses the cleavage of the adenine moiety from SAH, MTA and 5'dAdo, similar to the action of bacterial SAH/MTA nucleosidases. We also found that the binding of SAM or SAH causes a significant change in the structure of WBSCR27 and in the conformational mobility of the protein fragments, which can be attributed to the substrate recognition site. This indicates that the binding of the cofactor modulates the folding of the substrate-recognizing region of the enzyme.

The current stage of development of society is characterized by the development of scientific and technological progress, the emergence of various innovative processes that affect the course of development of all spheres of life, including higher education. With the emergence of a competency-based approach and a corresponding change in educational goals, higher education institutions, fulfilling the requirements of the Federal state educational standards, should use innovative educational technologies in the preparation of students to form their professional competence. The purpose of the article is to consider the experience of implementing educational technologies as a tool for developing students' independence. The independence of the student is an integral part of the development of his competence. The article presents an examination of the concepts of “independence” and “educational technology” from various points of view. The dependence of independence on the use of innovative educational technologies in the educational process is traced. The stages of the process of organizing students' independent work using innovative educational technologies are highlighted. The presented study on identifying students' level of independence when studying the discipline “Teaching Technologies of the Teachers of the Past” allows us to conclude that students are more successful with the active implementation of educational technologies, since they make the process more active and creative, make the interaction process more efficient. The study was conducted over two years (in 2018 and 2019). We checked the level of independence of students before the introduction of innovative technologies in the study of the discipline "Technology of teaching teachers of the past" and after. The more often educational technologies are used in the educational process, the more students get used to independent work, the better it becomes. The use of educational technologies allows the formation of a highly educated competent specialist who independently and creatively solves professional problems.

Determining the prospects and methods for the peaceful settlement of violent conflicts in a multi-ethnic and multi-confessional state of Indonesia is associated with an assessment of the degree of objectivity of the underlying causes of such conflicts, primarily the nature of the underlying contradictions and the degree of possibility of their resolution. The way of countering violence as a method of achieving political and economic goals is a consistent limitation of the conflict development of ethno-confessional relations and separatist sentiments in some provinces of the country.

Rif1 is a large multifaceted protein involved in various processes of DNA metabolism – from telomere length regulation and replication to double-strand break repair. The mechanistic details of its action, however, are often poorly understood. Here, we report functional characterization of the Rif1 homologue from methylotrophic thermotolerant budding yeast Hansenula polymorpha DL-1. We show that, similar to other yeast species, H. polymorpha Rif1 suppresses telomerase-dependent telomere elongation. We uncover two novel modes of Rif1 recruitment at H. polymorpha telomeres: via direct DNA binding and through the association with the Ku heterodimer. Both of these modes (at least partially) require the intrinsically disordered N-terminal extension – a region of the protein present exclusively in yeast species. We also demonstrate that Rif1 binds Stn1 and promotes its accumulation at telomeres in H. polymorpha.

The title compound, 4,4-difluoro-3-(3-phenylisoxazol-5-yl)-8-trifluoromethyl-5-(2-naphthalen-2-yl)-4-bora-3a,4a-diaza-s-indacene (1), was synthesized for the first time in a 62% yield by the P2O5-promoted condensation of 2,2,2-trifluoro-1-[5-(naphthalen-2-yl)-1H-pyrrol-2-yl]-ethan-1-ol (2) with 3-phenyl-5-(1H-pyrrol-2-yl)isoxazole (3) followed by the oxidation of dipyrromethane 4 and the complexation of dipyrromethene thus formed with BF3. The product fluoresces in a long wave region (651–662 nm) with a high quantum yield (0.49–0.61).

The title compound, 4-amino-5-benzoyl-1-benzyl-2-(4,5,6,7-tetrahydro-1H-indol-2-yl)- 1H-pyrrole-3-carbonitrile, was synthesized for the first time in a 40% yield by the reaction of N-benzyl-3-imino-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3H-pyrrolo[1,2-a]indol-1-amine and 1-chloroacetophenone in a K2CO3/MeCN system (reflux, 6 h). The product was characterized by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis.

The fullerite C60 modified by hot isostatic pressing (HIP) at 0.1 GPa in argon near and beyond its thermal stability region (920–1270 K temperature interval) was studied by X-ray diffractometry, Raman spectroscopy, ultra soft X-ray photoelectron and near edge X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy. It was found that the C60 molecules merge into closed nanocapsules with a graphene surface during the thermal treatment. The conducted studies showed that using HIP treatment of the fullerite C60, it is possible to obtain a chemically resistant material with a high hardness and elasticity, as well as a density lower than that of the graphite. This new material, consisting of closed graphene nanocapsules 2–5 nm in size, formed by sp2 covalent bonds between carbon atoms is promising for various applications, and as a basis for the synthesis of new composite materials.

Marine sponges were among the first multicellular organisms on our planet and have survived to this day thanks to their unique mechanisms of chemical defense and the specific design of their skeletons, which have been optimized over millions of years of evolution to effectively inhabit the aquatic environment. In this work, we carried out studies to elucidate the nature and nanostructural organization of three-dimensional skeletal microfibers of the giant marine demosponge Ianthella basta, the body of which is a micro-reticular, durable structure that determines the ideal filtration function of this organism. For the first time, using the battery of analytical tools including three-dimensional micro—X-ray Fluorescence (3D-µXRF), X-ray diffraction (XRD), infra-red (FTIR), Raman and Near Edge X-ray Fine Structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy, we have shown that biomineral calcite is responsible for nano-tuning the skeletal fibers of this sponge species. This is the first report on the presence of a calcitic mineral phase in representatives of verongiid sponges which belong to the class Demospongiae. Our experimental data suggest a possible role for structural amino polysaccharide chitin as a template for calcification. Our study suggests further experiments to elucidate both the origin of calcium carbonate inside the skeleton of this sponge and the mechanisms of biomineralization in the surface layers of chitin microfibers saturated with bromotyrosines, which have effective antimicrobial properties and are responsible for the chemical defense of this organism. The discovery of the calcified phase in the chitinous template of I. basta skeleton is expected to broaden the knowledge in biomineralization science where the calcium carbonate is regarded as a valuable material for applications in biomedicine, environmental science, and even in civil engineering.
