Salivary gland mesenchymal (non-epithelial) tumors are rare tumors and they constitute approximately 2%-5% of all salivary gland tumors. They are most commonly observed in the parotid gland, approximately 90%. Sialolipoma describes well-demarcated tumoral formations that are histologically similar to normal salivary gland tissue containing mature fat cells and different ductal, basal, acinar, and myoepithelial cells. The hamartomatous variant of sialolipoma is defined as sialoangiolipoma and is seen very rarely. Four cases have been described in the literature so far, and only one of them is of submandibular gland origin. In this study, we aimed to present a rare case of sialoangiolipoma of submandibular gland origin.

Objective This study was conducted to evaluate the effect of offering (OSF) or not (NSF) supplemental feed at milking on temperament (TS), udder hygiene (UHS) and body condition (BCS) scores, and milk yield per milking (MYM), milk quality traits, and profitability of primiparous Anatolian buffalo cows at 90 days of lactation confined in closed-tied (CB) or semi-open free-stall (OB) barns. Methods In Experiment I, 108 cows were selected to encompass four treatments (OB-OSF, OB-NSF, CB-OSF, and CB-NSF) of 27 cows, considering barn type (OB and CB) and supplementary feed (OSF and NSF) at milking. In Experiment II, 60 OB cows were selected to encompass one of five groups of 12 cows each: i) no supplemental feed (CON), ii) commercial concentrate (CC), iii) CC + corn silage (CCS), iv) CCS + alfalfa hay (CSA), or v) CC + ryegrass silage (CRS) at milking. Results The TS and UHS of the OB and OSF cows were lower (better) than those of the CB and NSF cows, respectively. The OSF increased milk protein, lactose, and solids-not-fat but decreased milk freezing point and electrical conductivity compared with the NSF. The MYM and milk fat of the OB-OSF cows were higher than those of the OB-NSF and CB-NSF cows. The TS and UHS of the cows negatively correlated with MYM and some milk chemicals (fat, protein, and solids-not-fat), but BCS correlated positively. The TS and milk electrical conductivity of the CCS, CSA, and CRS cows were lower than those of the CON and CC cows, but BCS, MYM, and milk fat were higher. Partial budget analysis identified a higher net profit for supplemental feed-offered groups (OB-OSF, CCS, CSA, and CRS). Conclusion Offering roughage with concentrates at milking for indoor primiparous buffalo cows is more conducive to well-being, milk yield, milk quality, and economy.

New evidence for a biostratigraphic assessment of the limestone succession comprising K‐bentonite levels exposed in the Yılanlı Formation of the Istanbul-Zonguldak Terrane are provided from conodonts at the Gavurpınarı quarry in Bartın area (NW Turkey). The succession depicts a shallow marine, nearshore facies setting that comprises rare and low diversity conodont associations mainly exemplified by the species of Ctenopolygnathus, Icriodus and Polygnathus. Conodont faunas from the lower part of the section are of late Frasnian age, including the taxa Icriodus subterminus Youngquist, 1947, Polygnathus aff. xylus Stauffer, 1940, Icriodus iowaensis iowaensis Youngquist & Peterson, 1947 and Ctenopolygnathus brevilaminus Branson & Mehl, 1934, and the upper part is assigned to early Famennian marked by the first appearance of Icriodus cornutus Sannemann, 1955. The local biostratigraphic framework of the Yılanlı Formation is correlated with the upper Frasnian Lower rhenana to the lower Famennian Middle triangularis standard conodont zonations. Considering the described species, the Frasnian-Famennian boundary corresponds to a slight change in conodont fauna and is assigned within the local Icriodus iowaensis iowaensis Zone. Accordingly, the novel K-bentonite age data potentially indicates the evidence for the Kellwasser events in northern Turkey, improving paleogeographic correlations of the Istanbul-Zonguldak Terrane with other terranes in Laurasia and Peri-Gondwana.

The aim of the study was to compare the central corneal thickness (CCT), intraocular pressure (IOP), and tear insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) levels of 2 patients with acromegaly before and after the surgical treatment of the disease. CCTs, IOP levels, and tear IGF-1 values showed a decrease after the treatment in 2 patients. As we found higher CCT, IOP, and tear IGF-1 levels in the active phase of the disease in two acromegaly patients, detailed information about the activity of the disease may be important before the examination of these patients.

Abstract High entropy oxides (HEOs) offer great potential as catalysts for oxygen electrocatalytic reactions in alkaline environments. Herein, a novel synthesis approach to prepare (FeCrCoMnZn)3O4‐δ high entropy spinel oxide in a vacuum atmosphere, with the primary objective of introducing oxygen vacancies into the crystal structure, is presented. As compared to the air‐synthesized counterpart, the (FeCrCoMnZn)3O4‐δ with abundant oxygen vacancies demonstrates a low (better) bifunctional (BI) index of 0.89 V in alkaline media, indicating enhanced electrocatalytic oxygen catalytic activity. Importantly, (FeCrCoMnZn)3O4‐δ demonstrates outstanding long‐term electrochemical and structural stability. When utilized as electrocatalysts in the air cathode of Zn‐air batteries, the vacuum atmosphere synthesized (FeCrCoMnZn)3O4‐δ catalysts outperform the samples treated in an air atmosphere, displaying superior peak power density, specific capacity, and cycling stability. These findings provide compelling evidence that manipulating the synthesis atmosphere of multi‐component oxides can serve as a novel approach to tailor their electrochemical performance.

Bu çalışma, silolama öncesi aktifleştirilen Lactobacillus buchneri (NCIMB 40788 ˗ CNCM I-4323; Lalsil AS, Lallemand Inc., Canada) inokulantının mısır silajına üre ile ilavesinin fermantasyon ve aerobik stabilite üzerine etkilerini belirlemek amacıyla düzenlenmiştir. Mısır süt olum döneminde hasat edilmiştir. Hasat sonrası materyaller, 6 muamele grubuna bölünmüştür. Muamele grupları 1- Kontrol; 2- Lactobacillus buchneri (LB), 3×108 kob/g taze materyal; 3- Üre (Üre), %1 kuru madde; 4- Lactobacillus buchneri + Üre (LB+Üre); 5-Aktive edilen Lactobacillus buchneri (aLB), 3×108 kob/g taze materyal; 6- Aktive edilen Lactobacillus buchneri + Üre (aLB+Üre)’den oluşmaktadır. Katkı maddesi ilavesinden sonra silaj örnekleri her muamele grubunda 3’er tekerrür olmak üzere plastik torbalara vakumlanarak doldurulmuştur. Fermantasyonun 1., 3., 7., 14. ve 75. günü açılan silaj örneklerinde kimyasal ve mikrobiyolojik analizler yapılmıştır. Yetmiş beşinci gün açılan silajlara 7 gün süre ile aerobik stabilite testi uygulanmıştır. Bu çalışmada silolama öncesi aktifleştirilen Lactobacillus buchneri inokulantı ve üre ilavesi mısır silajlarının fermantasyonun ve aerobik stabilitesini olumlu yönde etkilemiştir. aLB grubundaki silajların ham protein (HP), laktik asit (LA) değerleri artarken, asetik asit (AA), propiyonik asit (PA), pH, nötral çözücülerde çözünmeyen lif (NDF), asit çözücülerde çözünmeyen lif (ADF), hemiselüloz (HSEL) ve maya içerikleri ise düşmüştür. Silajlara aLB+ Üre ilave edilmesi silajların aerobik stabilitelerinin gelişmesini sağlamıştır. Sonuç olarak aktifleştirilen Lactobacillus buchneri ve ürenin birlikte kullanılması mısırın fermantasyon profili, kimyasal bileşimini ve aerobik stabilitesini iyileştirebilir.

This study aimed to evaluate whether supplemental feeding at milking (SFAM) positively influences the quantitative−qualitative milk parameters due to improving some welfare assessment traits of multiparous Anatolian buffalo cows confined in semi-open free-stall barns. A total of 76 Anatolian buffalo cows at approximately 90 days in milk were selected to encompass four groups (OSF-2nd, NSF-2nd, OSF-≥3rd and NSF-≥3rd), considering offering (OSF) or not (NSF) supplemental feed at milking and the parity (2nd) and (≥3rd). Data of evaluated variables such as the following ones—(i) subjectively scored welfare assessment traits (temperament, udder hygiene and body condition), (ii) milk yield per milking (MYM), (iii) milk components, and (iv) milk physical traits—were analysed using a linear mixed model and principal component (PC) analysis. The OSF improved the temperament, udder hygiene and body condition scores compared to the NSF. The MYM, the fat content and the fat-to-protein ratio of the OSF were higher than those of the NSF, but milk mineral and electrical conductivity of the OSF were lower than those of the NSF. The parity of cows did not affect the evaluated variables. Four parameters (milk density value and lactose, solids-not-fat and protein contents) could be identified in the PC2 versus PC1 plot. In conclusion, the SFAM enhanced the milk yield and qualitative milk parameters due to improving the welfare status of indoor buffalo cows, regardless of parity.

The aim of this study is to determine the effect of using the seating elements designed for social distance in the waiting areas of shopping malls in the post-pandemic process on customers in shopping mall preferences. In light of these results, the study aims to increase customer satisfaction in retail stores and to make the customer feel safe against the pandemic.In research, it was assumed that there is a relationship between shopping malls with seating elements designed for social distance and the shopping mall preferences of customers. In a virtual environment, to test this hypothesis based on digital images of the social distancing seating element modeled with the Top Solid Wood program, a hypothetical study based on a questionnaire was performed. In this study, the questionnaire, prepared according to the 7-point Likert scale, was applied to 300 participants. The results were showed that shopping malls with seating elements designed for social distance in the post-pandemic process have a positive effect on the shopping mall preferences of the participants. Building materials showed remarkable progress, as many methods were used to enhance their properties, such as nanomaterials which have played a major role in this field. This research reveals the complex integration of nano-zirconi (NZrO2-5wt%YPSZ). as with concrete and its effect on the different mechanical properties. The main objective of this research is to reduce the porosity of concrete by adding doses of nano-zirconia to the concrete mixture to enhance the microstructure, which enhances its mechanical properties. The results showed that the addition of nano-zirconia decreased concrete slump, and also increased the rates of absorption and porosity due to the agglomeration of nanoparticles. The compressive strength increased to reach 30, 47.5, and 60 MPa at the ages of 7, 28, and 90 days, respectively. The splitting tensile strength increased when the zirconia content was increased, reaching its highest level when substituting 0.7wt% when compared with the reference mixture. In summary, the current study sheds light on the effect of nano-zirconia on the mechanical properties of concrete by filling the pores, which enhances its microstructure because it reshapes the complex texture of the concrete mixture.

Değişen koşullar, ihtiyaçlar, sosyal ve toplumsal yapı değişimleri, siyasi olaylar, kentsel yenileme, kültürel aktiviteler, ticari işlevler, eğitim gibi etkenler sonucunda insanlar oluşturdukları mekânlar üzerinde zamanla dönüşümler veya yeniden işlevlendirmeler gerçekleştirmeye başlamış, bu şekilde yapı dönüşümleri ortaya çıkmıştır. Yapı dönüşümünün bilinçli bir şekilde yapılması, yapının sürdürülebilirliği açısından olumlu sonuçlanırken, bilinçsiz yapılan dönüşümler yapıların yok olmasına neden olmuştur. Çalışmanın amacı; dini yapıların dönemin koşulları doğrultusunda, dönüştürülme sürecinin ve bu dönüşümler sonucunda dönüştürülen yapılardaki yapı bileşenlerinin, işlev karşılıklarının, fonksiyonel, teknik ve estetik açıdan olumlu veya olumsuz etkilerinin incelenmesidir. Çalışmada veri toplama yöntemlerinden, gözlem ve içerik analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında, örnek olarak seçilen dönüştürülmüş ve yeniden işlevlendirilmiş dini yapıların teknik, fonksiyonel ve estetik analizleri; mimari projeler, kullanıcı görüşleri ve gözlem aracılığıyla yapılmıştır. Teknik, fonksiyonel ve estetik bağlamda analizlerin yapılabilmesi için, altlık olarak yapının mimari özelliklerine ve yapıyı oluşturan elemanların mimari özelliklerine ilişkin içerik tabloları hazırlanmıştır. Alan çalışması olarak, Saatli Kilise Camii, Çınarlı Camii kilise-cami yapı dönüşümlerinin sosyo-kültürel araştırmaları ile elde edilen verilere dayanarak yapıların dönüşüm öncesi ve sonrası analizleri yapılmıştır. Mevcut yapıların, Restorasyon projelerinin teknik analizlerinin yanı sıra, mekân içerisinde, mevcut bileşenlerinin işlev karşılıklarının teknik, estetik ve fonksiyonel açıdan olumlu veya olumsuz analizleri yapılmıştır. Öncelikle yapılar ile ilgili envanter fişleri hazırlanmış ve içerik analizi yöntemi ile yapının dönüşüm öncesi ve sonrası analizleri tablolar halinde sunulmuştur. Çalışma sonucunda, yapılan dini yapı dönüşümlerinin dönemin siyasi, ekonomik ve sosyal şartlar ile doğru orantılı olarak çeşitlilik gösterdiği ancak bazı yapıların ihtiyaç çerçevesinde dönüştürüldüğü, bazı yapıların ise zorunlu olarak dönüştürüldüğü saptanmıştır.

Objectives: This study aimed to identify the differences between the tumors and their histopathological characteristics in the materials obtained by laryngectomy performed because of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (LSCC) in Turkish and Syrian patient populations. Material and Method: Our study has a retrospective design. The present study included all the patients who were diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma between January 2010 to January 2021 and underwent laryngectomy in our institute. Medical records, pathology and radiology reports were reviewed. Demographic and histopathological factors were statistically compared between Turkish and Syrian groups. Results: Of 93 cases included in our study, 53 (57%) were Syrian while 40 (43%) were Turkish citizens. We have determined no statistically significant difference between two patient groups. Conclusions: Hatay is a geography that Syrians were familiar with its culture before the war and both societies are exposed to the same environmental conditions. Therefore, we might have found no significant difference between the demographic and histopathological characteristics of laryngeal cancer in Turkish and Syrian patient populations.

Abstract Carbon, especially graphene quantum dots (GQDs) based electronics have become an attractive technology in recent years. The controlled modification of the electrical and optoelectronic properties of GQDs by physical/chemical processes or synthetic methods may lead to new applications. Gadolinium‐doped polyethyleneimine (PEI) functionalized and nitrogen‐doped graphene quantum dots (GdNPs‐PEI@N‐GQDs) are synthesized by a hydrothermal method to determine how doping carbon‐based materials with Gd alters the electrical properties of the structure. The electrical properties of the GdNPs/PEI@N‐GQDs nanocomposite‐based diode are investigated using the current–voltage (I–V) technique and the capacitance and conductance voltage (C–V & G/ω–V) technique at 300 K in the frequency range of 0.5 to 500 kHz at ± 5 V. The rectification ratio (RR) is found to be 14 at a voltage of ±5 V. The rectifying behavior of the diode changes to an ohmic behavior after doping with Gd, compared to the Gd‐free PEI@N‐GQDs sample (2.8 × 104 at ±5 V). The results are expected to have an impact on the understanding of carbon‐based electronics technology.

Conventional controlled low strength materials (CLSM) are used in rapid construction due to their self-leveling and self-consolidating properties. However, as these mixes contain low cement content, the setting time of CLSM mixes are slow, making it less desirable in most construction applications where fast setting mixes are required. In this paper, authors prepared twelve conventional CLSM mixes with different cement to cementitious material ratios to represent current practice of CLSM mixes typically used for construction. The control mixes were modified by reducing the cement content and substituting it with an equivalent quantity of fly ash activated with alkaline solution constituting of NaOH and Na2SiO3. Authors performed flowability, initial setting time and compressive strength tests on these mixes to quantify the improvements in mechanical properties of modified CLSM mixes compared to their control counterparts. Authors also performed microstructural characterization using Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) to identify morphological changes in modified CLSM mixes. The primary objective of this study was to observe improvement in flowability, setting time and compressive strength of conventional mixes after addition of alkaline solution. Significant improvements in flowability and over 70% reduction in setting time were observed for modified mixes compared to their conventional counterparts.

This study discussed the deciphering of the architectural program, and the relevant concept of intermediate space within architectural production, and it questioned reprogramming through the concept of intermediate space. The study covered the Taşhan Street and neighboring locations in the Turkish city of Afyonkarahisar. It was based on assessing and discussing the existing programming and reprogramming dynamics in the Taşhan Region, which is functionally developed for craftsmanship, and contributes to the art and culture of the region. At the end of all these discussions, the program, 'depending on the venue and the user; It was defined as the 'sequence of frozen events occurring in moments' and the moments when these events occurred, their potential situations in places were revealed by reprogramming method. In the context of taking momentary sections in Taşhan Region; The methods of observation made in certain time periods (on weekends with high visitors, between 12:00 and 17:00, in the evening when the jazz festival is held) in the spaces in the region and interviewing with the users of the space were used to decipher the architectural program. Another scientific method used in the study is to make content analysis of the space theories put forward in the conceptual context and to reveal the evaluation criteria of the architectural program of the Tashan Region with the sub-concepts obtained within the framework of the text-based analysis method. While deciphering the architectural program, the conceptual analyses of the space theories proposed were conducted in parallel with the aim of the study, and the assessment criteria for the architectural program in the Taşhan Region were presented by using the sub-concepts revealed following the analyses. In conclusion, based on the momentary sections from the actions that occurred in the Taşhan Region, spatial flexibility in meeting needs to be increased and the relationship between users and spaces was enriched with reprogramming.

This study aims to use advanced machine learning techniques supported by Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to estimate body weight (BW) in buffalos raised in southeastern Mexico and compare their performance. The first stage of the current study consists of body measurements and the process of determining the most informative variables using PCA, a dimension reduction method. This process reduces the data size by eliminating the complex structure of the model and provides a faster and more effective learning process. As a second stage, two separate prediction models were developed with Gradient Boosting and Random Forest algorithms, using the principal components obtained from the data set reduced by PCA. The performances of both models were compared using R2, RMSE and MAE metrics, and showed that the Gradient Boosting model achieved a better prediction performance with a higher R2 value and lower error rates than the Random Forest model. In conclusion, PCA-supported modeling applications can provide more reliable results, and the Gradient Boosting algorithm is superior to Random Forest in this context. The current study demonstrates the potential use of machine learning approaches in estimating body weight in water buffalos, and will support sustainable animal husbandry by contributing to decision making processes in the field of animal science.

Purpose: The aim of the study was to investigate the effects of a rehabilitation program consisting of specific exercises for Parkinson's Disease (PD) patients on reaction time (RT), movement time (MT), quality of life and disease activity. Materials and Methods: A total of 26 idiopathic PD patients were included in the study. The exercises specific to Parkinson’s were applied to the patients for 16 weeks. The evaluation of the patients were done before and after the treatment. The disease severity was measured with Unified Parkinson’s Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS), quality of life was measured with Short Form-36 (SF-36). RT and MT measurements were done electromyographically. Results: There was no statistically significant difference in UPDRS total and sub-section values and SF-36 quality of life evaluation before and after the exercise program. While a significant decrease was observed in the RT values of the patients after the 16 week exercise program compared to prior to the program (Deltoid RT 370.46 ± 25 to 219.58 ± 17, biceps RT 370.42 ± 27 to 216.49 ± 14 and triceps RT 445.21 ± 31 to 247.53 ± 23, respectively). Conclusion: In PD, the rehabilitation program specific to the disease leads to a significant decrease in RT. Although the exercise has no statistically significant effect on disease activity, quality of life and MT values, it was seen that it still led to improvement.

INTRODUCTION: In this study, the objective was to evaluate the intramuscular injections administered to patients admitted to a family health center with sociodemographic characteristics. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional, analytical and, retrospective file review study. The sample population was formed by patients who had intramuscular injections administered between the dates of January 01, 2017 – and December 31, 2019. A total of 5648 injections for 2059 adults/children were evaluated. The data set was analyzed using SPSS 17.0 (IBM, USA) statistical package program. Odunpazarı urban protected area has a very substantial potential in terms of historical and cultural heritage values. The support of local people is very important for the development of tourism and the adequate protection of cultural heritage in such tourism destinations. The main purpose of this study is to determine the perceptions and attitudes of the local people living in the area towards the protection of cultural heritage and its relationship with tourism in the Odunpazarı urban site area. Cultural heritage values and intense tourism activities has been effective in the selection of the Odunpazarı urban site as the research area. Within the scope of the research, a questionnaire has been applied to 155 people by face-to-face interview. The obtained data has been analyzed with SPSS 21 program. Exploratory factor analysis has been applied to determine the factors related to the impacts of tourism in the area. The differences between the resulting factors and demographic variables has been determined by t test and ANOVA test. As a result of the study, it has been determined that the perception of the local people regarding the protection of cultural heritage and the impacts of tourism is positive.

The present study aimed to determine the participation levels of the visitors and local population in the targets of the Conservation Zoning Plan developed for Ayazini Metropolis on a land of 230000,00m2in Turkey, Afyonkarahisar province, İhsaniye district in 2017. Thus, face-to-face and online surveys were conducted with visitors and local population. First, factor analysis was conducted on the scale and 5 conceptual factors were determined based on the association between the variables. To determine the suitability of the scale for factor analysis, the Kaiser Meyer Olkin (KMO) coefficient was determined (.705) and Barlett sphericity test was conducted (x2:10902.117, df:4851, p = .000). Principal component analysis with varimax rotation was conducted, and factor loads lower than 0.33 were excluded. Thus, 30 out of 99 items with a factor load under 0.40 were excluded from the scale, and the scale was reduced to 69 items. The final survey form was applied to both groups and ANOVA test was conducted to determine whether there was a difference between these two groups at 95% significance level. It was concluded that there was a significant difference between the 2nd and 5th factor groups based on the statements of the local population and the visitors (p <0.05). In other words, there was a difference between the level of participation with the decisions on general environmental properties of the historic sites in the area and in the decisions on the streets, blocks, green spaces and open spaces.
