In the present paper, the optical and structural parameters of pure and Dy doped zinc oxide thin films on quartz glass substrate using the dopant of Dy in various doping molar concentrations (0.2 and 0.5 M) with different percentages ranging from 0% to 100% have been studied. All the produced thin films have been obtained by using the spin coating method and crystallized at the annealing temperature of 1000 degrees C for the duration of 6 h. The X-ray Diffraction (XRD) spectra have been used to see the formation of crystal phases. These show that both ZnO and Dy2O3 crystal phases stay together within the doped thin film matrices. The Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and UV-Vis absorption spectra have also been taken to describe the pure and doped zinc oxide film structures together with various optical properties such as energy band gap and refractive index.

The electrical properties of wollastonite inlaid NR/SBR type elastomer based material have been evaluated. Electrical properties of the samples were measured in the temperature range of 303 to 453 K and the frequency range of 100 Hz - 40 MHz. All electrically measured parameters were given anomalies at 385 K. Only one type of dielectric relaxation process have been observed for all measurements. Physical parameters characterizing the dielectric behavior have been obtained by fitting the experimental results in the modified Debye equation. The activation energy which is thermally activated by dielectric relaxation process have been calculated to be 0.58 eV. DC conductivity increasing by temperature has been explained with the help of VFT model whereas the AC one has been clarified by the OLPT model.

An experimental study of the excitation of the (2p(2)) D-1 and (2s2p) P-1(o) autoionizing states of helium by 250-eV electron impact is presented. The ejected-electron angular distributions and energy spectra are measured in coincidence with the corresponding scattered electrons for a scattering angle of -13 degrees and for a range of ejected-electron angles in both the forward and backward directions. Resonance profiles are analyzed in terms of the Shore-Balashov parametrization to obtain the resonance asymmetry A mu and yield B mu parameters and the direct ionization cross section f. The spectra and their parameters are compared to the previous measurements of Lower and Weigold [J. Phys. B 23, 2819 (1990)] and McDonald and Crowe [J. Phys. B 26, 2887 (1993)]. Comparison is also made with the recent theoretical triply differential cross-section calculations based on the first and second Born approximations. In general, good qualitative agreement is found between the experimental results. Some differences are found at the forward and backward directions. These differences in the shape and magnitude of the cross sections are attributed to the different incoming electron energies used in the experiments. The second Born approximation with inclusion of the three-body Coulomb interaction in the final state agrees reasonably well with experiments in the binary region. However, the P-1(o) resonance yield parameter B mu is significantly overestimated at the recoil region, giving a relatively large recoil peak, in contradiction to the experiment. There is also a discrepancy between the two theories available for the D-1 resonance yield parameter B mu in this region. Remaining discrepancies between theories and experiments are also discussed.

Coplanar (e, 2e) triple differential cross sections (TDCS) measurements are reported for the helium autoionizing doubly excited states, (2s(2))(1)s, (2p(2))D-1, and (2s2p)P-1, for an incident electron energy of 250 eV and a scattering angle of -13 degrees, corresponding to a momentum transfer of 1.06 a.u. The presence of autoionization results in a clearly visible recoil peak in the TDCS structure with a shape that is strongly dependent on the orbital angular momentum L of the resonance. The resonance contributions together with the strong background of direct ionization processes lead to a complicated asymmetric structure of the resonance profile in the TDCS.

The (e, 2e) triple differential cross sections are measured for the electron-impact excitation of the (2s(2))S-1, (2p(2))D-1 and (2s2p)P-1 autoionizing transitions in helium. The experiments were performed under coplanar asymmetric kinematics, at an incident electron energy of 250 eV, and for a scattered electron detection angle of -13 degrees. in the direction of the binary lobe. The results are compared with the two available experimental data sets under similar kinematical conditions, consequently removing questions raised by the theory on these earlier results. We present evidence that the spectrum for the (2p(2))D-1 and (2s2p)P-1 states might be dependent on the energy resolution of the scattered-electron energy analyser, especially in the binary region, where the strong interference between the two processes results in the observed broad asymmetric profiles. This possible distortion is not solely related to the present work.

ÖZET Bu çalışmada, korelasyon enerjisi hesaplamaya yönelik `Konf igürasyon Etkileşmesi Metodu` kullanılarak 12' den az elektrona sahip atom sistemleri için, dalga fonksiyonları, bunlara karşılık gelen enerjiler ve osilatör kuvveti hesap lamaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. Hesaplamalar için, yurt dışından sağlanan ve KTü'deki kompüter sistemine adapte edilmiş bir paket program, verile ri hazırlanarak çalıştırılmıştır. Sekiz farklı durum için enerji ve osilatör kuvveti hesaplamaları gerçekleştirilmiştir. 12 'den fazla elektrona sahip sistemler için gerçek enerjilerle hesaplanan enerjiler arasındaki fark artmaktadır. Bu sistemler için çok ince yapı, f otoiyonlaşma, çarpışmayla uyarma, Van-der Waals kuvvetleri ve elektron atom saçılma hesapları enerjiye eklendiği taktirde gerçek enerjilere ya kın enerjiler hesaplamak mümkün olacaktır. ABSTRACT In this work, correlation energies and oscillator strengths for atoms containing less than twelve electrons have been computed. The method of configuration interaction has been used. The computer program used has been obtained from CPC Program Library and adapted to the computer system of KTO. Suitable input data have been supplied and the program has been run. Energy and oscillator strength has been calculated for different eigth cases. The difference between experimental and computed energies increases for systems containing more than twelve electrons. For these systems adding the hyperfine structure, photoionization, collisional excitation, Van-der Waals forces and electron-atom scattering calculations to energy, it is possible to obtain results that agree with experimental values. Bu çalışmada, farklı yüzdelerde Mg katkılanmış ZnO ince filmler mikroskop altlıklar üzerine spin kaplama yöntemiyle kaplanmış ve bu filmlerin mekanik ve optik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Ayrıca bu ZnO ince filmler belli sıcaklıklarda tavlandıktan sonra, elde edilen filmlere ait fiziksel özellikler belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.Giriş bölümünden sonraki ikinci bölümde amorf ve kristal yapılar hakkında kısa bilgi verilip ince film kaplama teknikleri kısaca ifade edilmiş ve çalışmanın deneysel olan ilk bölümünde (Bölüm 3) farklı yüzdelerde Mg katkılanan ZnO ince filmlere ait sonuçlar ifade edilmiştir. Bu ZnO ince filmlerin XRD, SEM, UV-Vis sonuçları verilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. In this study, Mg-doped ZnO thin films in different percentages were coated on microscope substrates by spin coating method and then the mechanical and optical properties of these films were investigated. Furthermore, after these ZnO thin films annealed at certain temperatures, the physical properties of the obtained films were tried to be determined.In the second section after the introduction chapter, a brief information about amorphous and crystal structures is given, and thin film coating techniques are expressed and the results of ZnO thin films doped with Mg at different percentages are expressed in the first experimental section of the work (Chapter 3). XRD, SEM, UV-Vis results of these ZnO thin films were given and interpreted in this chapter. 06.03.2018 tarihli ve 30352 sayılı Resmi Gazetede yayımlanan “Yükseköğretim Kanunu İle Bazı Kanun Ve Kanun Hükmünde Kararnamelerde Değişiklik Yapılması Hakkında Kanun” ile 18.06.2018 tarihli “Lisansüstü Tezlerin Elektronik Ortamda Toplanması, Düzenlenmesi ve Erişime Açılmasına İlişkin Yönerge” gereğince tam metin erişime açılmıştır. Bu çalışmada spin kaplama yöntemi ile kuartz cam üzerinde büyütülen farklı molarite (0,2M, 0,5M, 1M) ve yüzdeliklerdeki (%2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 80, 100) lantanit (La, Dy) katkılı, katkısız ZnO ince filmlerin yapısal ve optik özellikleri incelenmiştir. Giriş bölümünden sonraki ikinci bölümde temel kavramlar verilerek, teorik ve deneysel alt yapı hazırlanmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde 0,5M katkısız ZnO, 500 ve 1000 oC'de 30dk. ve 6 saat tavlanmış numunelere ait sonuçlar verilmiştir. Lantanit katkılamalar için literatürle uyumlu olabilmesi doğrultusunda sonraki deneylerin 1000 oC'de 6 saat tavlama yapılarak elde edilmesine karar verilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde ağır nadir toprak elementlerin grubundan seçilen Disprosyum elementi ile beşinci bölümde ise hafif nadir toprak elementleri grubundan seçilen Lantan elementi ile hazırlanan katkılı ve katkısız ince filmler üretilmiştir. Elde edilen filmlerin üretim aşamaları ile yapısal ve optik özelliklerini ifade eden (XRD, SEM, EDS, UV-VIS ölçümlerine ait) sonuçlar ilgili bölümlerde verilmiştir. Altıncı bölümde ise 0,5M'daki lantan asetat ve çinko asetat sollerinin %50 oranda karıştırılıp kurutulması ile elde edilen katkılı ve katkısız tozlar 1000 oC'de 6 saat tavlanmış ve elde edilen tozların bir kısmı tablet haline getirilerek oluşan ürünlerin aynı şekilde yapısal optik incelemeleri yapılmıştır. Son bölümde ise sonuçlar özetlenerek ileri çalışmalar için öneride bulunulmuştur. Yapılan bu çalışmada elde edilen katkılı ve katkısız tüm çinko oksit filmlerin 1000 oC'de 6 saat tavlanması durumunda willemit fazının açığa çıktığı gözlenmiştir. UV-VIS spektrumunda tavlama sıcaklığı arttıkça 370 nm'de bulunan temel soğurma pikinin 195 nm civarına doğru kaydığı ve bunun da willemit fazının oluşmasıyla doğrudan ilişkili olduğu sonucuna varılmıştır. Disprosyum katkılı ZnO ince filmlerde optik özellikler incelenmiş, soğurma bandının 195 nm civarında, saf disprosyumun Eg yasak enerji bant aralığının 1,5 eV ve katkılı numunelerin ortalama 5,9 eV civarında yasak enerji bant aralıklarına sahip oldukları gözlenmiştir. Lantan katkılı ZnO ince filmlerde 0,5M katkılama seviyesi seçilmiştir. XRD ve SEM sonuçlarından hareketle ZnO ile birlikte birçok fazın (La(OH)3, La2O3, LaOOH, La2Si2O7) meydana gelmiştir. Katkılama arttıkça 195 nm'deki soğurma bandının 225 nm'ye doğru kaydığı ve filmlerin yasak enerji bant aralığının 0,3 eV kadar azaldığı gözlenmiştir. Toz lantan katkılı numunelerde sadece La(OH)3 ve ZnO kristal yapılar kendini göstermiştir. Floresans spektrumlarında toz ve tabletler için salma piklerinin yerinin değişmediği ZnO, La:ZnO ve La(OH)3 için sırasıyla 505, 468 ve 380nm olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Anahtar Kelimeler: Sol-jel, spin kaplama, lantanit, ZnO, ince film In this thesis it is aimed to investigate the structural and optical properties of pure ZnO and La, Dy doped (2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 80, 100%) ZnO thin films on quartz substrates at different molarities (0,2M, 0,5M, 1M) by using spin coating technique. After the introduction chapter the fundamental principles related to the work is given in Chapter 2. In Chapter 3 the experimental results for the pure ZnO samples annealed at 500 ve 1000 oC for 30min and 6 hours at 0,5 M level are given. From the experimental results the 1000 oC annealing is chosen for the following experiment as it gives the best literature agreement. In Chapter 4 dysprosium is chosen as heavy lanthanide element to be the dopant whereas lanthanum is chosen as the lighter one (Chapter 5). For both elements various dopant levels are used and the thin films are produced. XRD, SEM, EDS and UV-vis spectra are given in related chapters. In Chapter 6 experimental results for the powder form of the lanthanum doped ZnO samples are given. In Chapter 7 the experimental results are summarized and a future work is proposed. From the experimental results it has been found that the all pure and doped ZnO thin films display the willemite phase if they were annealed at 1000 oC for 6 hours. As the annealing temperature is increased then the main absorption peak at 370 nm seems to shift to 195 nm which is a sign that the willemite phase is present (which is apparent in XRD and EDS result). In the ZnO samples doped with dysprosium, it has been found that the absorption band for pure dysprosium is situated at 195 nm and the energy gap is about 1,5 eV whereas the energy bands for the ZnO doped ones stay about 5,9 eV. For the lanthanum doping 0,5M level is chosen. From the XRD and SEM results, various crystal phases are produced (La(OH)3, La2O3, LaOOH, La2Si2O7). It has been found that the increase in doping level shifts the absorption band towards 225 nm. The increase in doping level lowers the engergy band about 0,3 eV. In powder lanthanum doped zinc oxide samples only La(OH)3 and ZnO crystal structures are observed. In the fluoresence spectra the emission peaks at 505, 468 and 380 nm for ZnO, La:ZnO and La(OH)3 are observed, respectively. Keywords: Sol-gel, spin coating, lanthanides, ZnO, thin film

In this work, we have presented a new route to produce pure ZnO and composite ZnO-CuO thin films. In the process we have started with pure ZnO thin films and ended up with CuO by doping Cu in various percentages, ranging from 0% to 100%. We have managed to attain crystal phases in all doping concentrations. All the produced thin films have been crystallized at the annealing temperatures of 600 and 700 degrees C for 6 h. The X-ray diffraction (XRD) spectra have been performed to see the formation of crystal phases of all pure ZnO and composite ZnO-CuO thin films. These give insight that the two crystal phases related to ZnO and CuO stayed together within the thin film matrices, which were produced in different doping concentrations, i.e. nZnO + mCuO (0

In this study, ZnO thin films in various molarities were fabricated on microscope glasses using spin coating method. The films were thermally annealed at 600 A degrees C. Thin films produced at 0.3-2.0 M have been evaluated using X-ray diffraction spectra, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and the photographs from the side view. From the SEM micrograph, the average thicknesses of the films have been evaluated to be 1.1, 1.7, 3.25, 4, 5 and 13.5 mu m for the molarities of 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 1, 1.5 and 2 M, respectively. A constant (c) reflecting the adhesion properties of the sol to the substrate has been attained to be 1.5. This coefficient is thought to be strongly dependent on the sol and substrate type as well as the annealing temperature and duration. In these coatings, a curving effect resulting from ZnO thin films has also been observed in the specimen, especially in the higher molarity values.

Bu çalışmada, farklı molarite ve sıcaklıklarda ZnO ince filmler asetonla temizlenmiş mikroskop camlar üzerine spin kaplama yöntemiyle kaplanmıştır. Farklı yüzdelerde Kobalt (Co) katkılanmış ZnO ince filmler 250ºC'de kurutma yapıldıktan sonra, 600ºC'de tavlanmıştır. Elde edilen filmlere ait optik özellikler belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır.Giriş bölümünden sonraki ikinci bölümde optoelektronik endüstri, ince filmler kullanım alanları, kobalt katkılarının kullanım alanları, örgü vektörleri, amorf yapılar, tavlama teknikleri ve kristal yapılar hakkında kısa bilgi verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde ince film üretme teknikleri ifade edilmiş ve çalışmanın deneysel olan dördüncü bölümünde 0.5 M saf ve farklı oranlarda (%0-100) Co katkılanmış ZnO ince filmlerin üretim aşamaları ile yapısal ve optik özelliklerini ifade eden (XRD, SEM, UV-Vis spektrumlarına ait) sonuçlar verilmiş ve yorumlanmışlardır. Çalışmanın son kısmında ileri çalışmalar için önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Bu tez çalışmasında, helyum atomunun (2s2)1S, (2s2p)3P, (2p2)1D and (2s2p)1Po ikili uyarma-kendiliğinden iyonlaşma enerji düzeylerinin, 250 eV enerjili elektron çarpışmasıyla uyarılması olayı için ikili ve üçlü diferansiyel tesir kesiti ölçümleri yapılmıştır. İyonlaşma sonrası kopan elektronların açısal dağılımları ve enerji spektrumları, yeni bir (e, 2e) spektrometresi kullanılarak, -13'de saçılan elektronlar ile beraber eşzamanlı olarak dedekte edilmesiyle ölçülmüştür. Rezonans profilleri Shore-Balashov parametrizasyonu kullanılarak analiz edilmiş ve f direk iyonlaşma tesir kesiti, Aµ rezonans asimetrisi ve Bµ rezonans şiddeti parametreleri elde edilmiştir. Spektrumlar ve rezonans parametreleri önceki deneysel ölçümler ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Deneysel sonuçlar aynı zamanda birinci ve ikinci-mertebe Born yaklaşıklığına dayanan tesir kesiti hesaplamaları ile karşılaştırılmıştır. Genel olarak önceki deneysel çalışmalar ile iyi bir uyum görülmüştür. İleri ve geri açılarda bazı farklılıklar gözlemlenmiştir. Tesir kesitinin şekil ve büyüklüğündeki bu farklılıklar deneylerde kullanılan çarpışma enerjisindeki farklılıkla açıklanmıştır. İkinci mertebe Born yaklaşıklığı ve üç-parçacıklı Coulomb etkileşmesinin hesaba katılması ile ileri açı bölgesinde deneysel çalışmalarla iyi bir uyum gözlenmiştir. Fakat teorik hesaplamalarda Bµ, 1Po rezonans şiddet parametresi, geri açılarda deneysel verilerden daha fazla çıkmış ve tesir kesiti bu bölgede büyük bir pik vermiştir. Bu bölgede 1D rezonansı Bµ parametresi için iki benzer teorik çalışma arasında da önemli farklılıklar bulunmaktadır. 1S düzeyi için Bµ parametresi teorik sonuçlarlardan önemli bir şekilde sapmaktadır. Teorik sonuçlar momentum transfer doğrultusu boyunca Bµ parametresinin negatif değerler aldığını ve bir lokal minimuma sahip olduğunu göstermektedir. Buna zıt olarak deneysel sonuçlar pozitif değerler almaktadır ve bir maksimuma sahiptir. Bµ değerinin pozitif olması yapıcı girişimi gösterirken, negatif değerler yıkıcı girişimi göstermektedir. Ayrıca deney ve teori arasındaki diğer farklılıklar da tartışılmıştır. Resonance profiles are analyzed in terms of the Shore-Balashov parametrization to obtain the resonance asymmetry Aµ and yield Bµ parameters and the direct ionization cross section f. The spectra and their parameters are compared to the previous measurements. Comparison is also made with the recent theoretical calculations based on the first and second Born approximations. In general, good qualitative agreement is found between the experimental results. Some differences are found at forward and backward directions. These differences in the shape and magnitude of the cross sections are attributed to the different incoming electron energies used in the experiments. The second Born approximation with inclusion of the three-body Coulomb interaction in the final state agrees reasonably with experiments at forward region. However, the 1Po resonance yield parameter Bµ is significantly overestimated at recoil region, which results in a relatively large backward peak in a blunt contradiction to the experiment. There is also a discrepancy between the two theories available for the 1D resonance yield parameter Bµ in this region. For the 1S state, the experimental results for the Bµ parameter deviate strongly from the theoretical data, with their results showing a local minimum near the direction of momentum transfer and having negative values. By contrast, the experimental data show a maximum and have positive values. The large positive values of Bµ are thought to be the confirmation of constructive interference while the negative values indicate destructive interference. Remaining discrepancies between theories and experiments are also discussed.

Bu çalışmada, farklı altlıklar üzerine spin kaplama yöntemiyle üretilmiş saf ZnO ince filmler ve bu filmlerin optik ve mekanik özelliklerinin sıcaklıkla değişimi ele alınmıştır.İlk bölümde amorf ve kristal yapılar hakkında bilgi verilmiştir. İkinci bölümde ince film kaplama teknikleri detaylı olarak ele alınmıştır. Bu tezin üçüncü bölümünde 2010 yılına kadar yapılmış ZnO ince filmler hakkındaki bilimsel çalışmalar kısaca özetlenmiş ve ardından mikroskop camı üzerine kaplanmış ve farklı sıcaklıklarda tavlanmış filmlerin XRD, SEM ve UV-Vis spektrumları alınarak yorumlanmışlardır.Deneysel çalışmamızın ikinci parçasında kuartz kristal altlığı üzerinde ince filmler üretilmiş ve bu filmler 350-1050 oC aralığında tavlanarak, XRD, SEM ve UV-Vis spektrumları yorumlanmışlardır. In this thesis pure ZnO thin films are produced using spin coater on different substrate and annealed at different temperatures. The films? mechanial and optical properties have been investigated with respect to annealing temperatures.In the first chapter we have briefly introduced the crystal and amorphous structures. Chapter two is devoted to the methods that are being used in the production of the thin film industry. In the chapter three we have briefly summarised the literature about the ZnO thin films till year 2010. We have given the results related to the samples which are coated with the ZnO on microscope glasses and annealed up to 850 oC. XRD, SEM and UV-vis spectra of these samples are also intoduced in this chapter.In the chapter four we have given the experimental results related to the crystal substrate of quartz. XRD, SEM and UV-Vis spectra for the ZnO are introduced and evaluated. A brief future work is also included at the end of this chapter. 130

The (e, 2e) triple differential cross sections are measured for the electron-impact excitation of the (2s(2))S-1, (2p(2))D-1 and (2s2p)P-1 autoionizing transitions in helium. The experiments were performed under coplanar asymmetric kinematics, at an incident electron energy of 250 eV, and for a scattered electron detection angle of -13 degrees. in the direction of the binary lobe. The results are compared with the two available experimental data sets under similar kinematical conditions, consequently removing questions raised by the theory on these earlier results. We present evidence that the spectrum for the (2p(2))D-1 and (2s2p)P-1 states might be dependent on the energy resolution of the scattered-electron energy analyser, especially in the binary region, where the strong interference between the two processes results in the observed broad asymmetric profiles. This possible distortion is not solely related to the present work.

Bu tezin üçüncü bölümünde 1990-2009 yılları arasındaki yapılmış ZnO ince filmler hakkındaki bilimsel çalışmalar özetlenmiştir.Yapılan deneysel çalışma sonuçlarının ifade edildiği dördüncü bölümde ise, saf ve Al katkılı ince filmlerin hazırlanması/üretilmesi ve bunların mekanik ve optik özelliklerine ait spektrumlar ile bu spektrumlara ait yorumlar verilmiştir. Key Words: thin films, dipping method, ZnO, amorphous substrates, Al doping.In this work, thin films and thin film preparation techniques are described and theworks done by the researchers from the year 1990 upto now are summarised.Undoped and aluminium doped thin films are prepared and their optical propertiesare searched.The first chapter of the thesis consists of the information about amorphous andcrystallic structures whereas in the second chapter the techniques producing the thinfilms are mentioned shortly. In the third chapter the works done by the researchersthrouhout the scientific world on ZnO structures are briefly summarised. The lastchapter gives the results related to the Al-doped and undoped ZnO thin films. In thischapter XRD patterns, UV-vis spectra and SEM data are reported and at the end ofthe chapter some future works are described.
