33. The Activity Report of Kanazawa University Museum in 2019

Abstract

The museum has held 8 exhibitions such as the permanent exhibition, special exhibitions and outreach exhibitions from April 2019 to March 2020 and the total number of the visitors to University Museum exhibition room was 7,250. This number is less than that from April 2018 to March 2019. Because the exposition room closed in March 2020 due to the infectious COVD2019 diseases control measures. However, almost all exhibitions could be held successfully. Especially, 2019 is the 30th anniversary year of the founding of Kanazawa University Museum in 1989. Therefore, the museum held a special exhibition marking the 30th anniversary entitled “The advance for 30 years of Kanazawa University Museum 1989-2019”. This exhibition showed a trace of the exhibitions during these 30 years. The 3 outreach exhibitions were also held at the Intermediateque Tokyo, with the cooperation of the museum, the University of Tokyo, and the Ishikawa museum of natural history, at Kahoku gate in Kanazawa castle park and at the Memorial museum of Ishikawa Forth Higher school and cultural exchange museum.On the other hand, the University Museum also has large archives of histories for many former schools such as the Fourth Higher School and official documents of Kanazawa University and gave their reference activities. I wish the continuous construction of the archives of the University museum and it will be national Archives of Japan, etc near future.The Museum staff also have attended to the meetings for the Japanese University Council and the Conference of the Society of Japanese museum sciences at Akita University.

Abstract

[Background/Purpose]To investigate the long‐term outcome and entire treatment course of patients with technically unresectable CRLM who underwent conversion hepatectomy and to examine factors associated with conversion to hepatectomy. [Methods]Recurrence and survival data with long‐term follow‐up were analyzed in the cohort of a multi‐institutional phase II trial for technically unresectable colorectal liver metastases (the BECK study). [Results]A total of 22/12 patients with K‐RAS wild‐type/mutant tumors were treated with mFOLFOX6 + cetuximab/bevacizumab. The conversion R0/1 hepatectomy rate was significantly higher in left‐sided primary tumors than in right‐sided tumors (75.0% vs 30.0%, P = .022). The median follow‐up was 72.6 months. The 5‐year overall survival (OS) rate in the entire cohort was 48.1%. In patients who underwent R0/1 hepatectomy (n = 21), the 5‐year RFS rate and OS rate were 19.1% and 66.3%, respectively. At the final follow‐up, seven patients had no evidence of disease, five were alive with disease, and 20 had died from their original cancer. All 16 patients who achieved 5‐year survival underwent conversion hepatectomy, and 11 of them underwent further resection for other recurrences (median: 2, range: 1‐4). [Conclusions]Conversion hepatectomy achieved a similar long‐term survival to the results of previous studies in initially resectable patients, although many of them experienced several post‐hepatectomy recurrences. Left‐sided primary was found to be the predictor for conversion hepatectomy.

39. The Activity Report of Kanazawa University Museum in 2018

Abstract

Kanazawa University Museum has held 9 exhibitions such as the permanent exhibition, special exhibitions and outreach exhibitions during April, 2018 to March, 2019 and the number of visitors to University Museum exhibition room was 8,308 which is the second record of the museum. Especially, in the special exhibition “Natural history of stone”, the University Museum presented many precious mineral specimens of Kanazawa University and beautiful jade specimens borrowed from the Fossa Magna Museum of Itoigawa city, Japan. Jade was selected as Japanese national stone in 2016. This exhibition garnered good reviews and 1,415 visitors. The outreach exhibition “Art or Science, the Specific Instrument Collection of the Fourth Higher School” was held at the Intermediateque Tokyo, with cooperation of the museum, the university of Tokyo and the Ishikawa museum of natural history. This exhibition was first challenge in Tokyo. I hope to hold another outreach exhibition in the other cities.On the other hand, the University Museum also has many archives of histories for many former schools such as the Fourth Higher School and official documents of Kanazawa University and gives their reference activities. The number of documents was 11,000 in 2018. The University Museum offered references of 26 document in 2018. The continuous construction of archives is also important as exhibitions for the University Museum. The Museum staffs has attended to the meetings for Japanese university museum council and the conference of the society of Japanese museum sciences at Kagawa University.

Abstract

Aim: Sinusoidal obstruction syndrome (SOS) induced by oxaliplatin‐including chemotherapies (OXCx) is associated with impaired hepatic reserve and higher morbidity after hepatic resection. However, in the absence of an appropriate animal experimental model, little is known about its pathophysiology. This study aimed to establish a clinically relevant reproducible model of FOLFOX‐induced SOS and to compare the clinical/histopathological features between the clinical and animal SOS settings. Methods: We performed clinical/pathological analyses of colorectal liver metastasis (CRLM) patients who underwent hepatectomy with/without preoperative treatment of FOLFOX (n = 22/18). Male micro‐minipigs were treated with 50% of the standard human dosage of the FOLFOX regimen. Results: In contrast to the monocrotaline‐induced SOS model in rats, hepatomegaly, ascites, congestion, and coagulative necrosis of hepatocytes were absent in patients with CRLM with OXCx pretreatment and OXCx‐treated micro‐minipigs. In parallel to CRLM cases with OXCx pretreatment, OXCx‐challenged micro‐minipigs exhibited deteriorated indocyanine green clearance, morphological alteration of liver sinusoidal endothelial cells, and upregulated matrix metalloproteinase‐9. Using our novel porcine SOS model, we identified the hepatoprotective influence of recombinant human soluble thrombomodulin in OXCx‐SOS. Conclusions: With distinct differences between monocrotaline‐induced rat SOS and human/pig OXCx‐SOS, our pig OXCx‐SOS model serves as a preclinical platform for future investigations to dissect the pathophysiology of OXCx‐SOS and seek preventive strategies. Abstract

平成27年度、28年度、金沢大学資料館（以後資料館と記す）では、展示室における企画展、特別展に加えアウトリーチ展を開催してきた（文献1、2）。平成29年度も、同様に、計6回の展覧会を実施した。特に、平成29年9月30日・10月1日の2日にわたって、金沢市で開催された「全国藩校サミット―金沢大会」（文献3）に合わせて、資料館では、特別展「加賀藩校扁額～明倫堂・経武館～」を開催した（文献4）。さらに、特別展に合わせて、特別講演会を開催した。また、この特別展に先立って、6月29日付けで「加賀藩校扁額」が、金沢市の有形文化財の指定を受けた。また、昨年度に続き、学外2機関との共同での展覧会を開催した。このほか、資料館紀要の発行や資料館だよりも刊行した。また、資料館のもう一つの大きな機能として、文書館としての機能も有しており、歴史文書等などのリファレンス活動も実施した。本稿では、平成29年度の資料館展示活動を中心に、その他の活動についても報告し、多様な資料館活動を紹介する。
