Abstract

River estuaries are habitats for a variety of organisms, including many temperature‐sensitive species; water temperatures in estuaries are affected by several factors as they are influenced by both terrestrial and marine environments. Therefore, understanding the factors that influence river estuaries are essential for environmental management. However, no information exists on temperature change at high temporal resolution and over a wide area; moreover, the relationship with environmental factors has not yet been clarified. Here, we have described the actual status of water temperature change in riverine estuaries and its relationship with environmental factors for a wide area of the Japanese archipelago. Our results indicated that 217 of 294 rivers showed a significant monthly increase in water temperature. The average annual change in rates of water temperature increase was the highest in October at 0.090°C yr−1 and lowest in February at 0.068°C yr−1. Furthermore, snowfall, air temperature increase, sea water temperature, and land use were identified as factors increasing the rate of water temperature increase. Factors influencing the increase in river estuarine water temperature varied from month to month—with meteorological factors being the strongest influencers from spring to fall, and anthropogenic factors in winter. Our findings emphasize the importance of considering not only meteorological and oceanographic phenomena, but also anthropogenic influences and topographic features to understand the pattern of water temperature changes in river estuaries. Abstract

Kinetically stabilized 1-phosphahaloprenes (2-halo-1-phosphabutadienes) as well as 1-phosphaisoprene undergo a hitherto unknown phospha-Diels-Alder dimerization of the P[double bond, length as m-dash]C-C[double bond, length as m-dash]C units upon heating. The [4+2] cyclodimerization is highly stereo- and regio-selective. The phosphaalkene-substituted phosphacyclohexene product is an unprecedented P(sp2),P(sp3) ligand that is of interest in polymer/materials science and catalysis.

Abstract

本論文では近年増加してきている局地的豪雨災害に対し，小規模集落での課題と適切な支援方策を検討するため， 2013年に発生した山口・島根豪雨災害における萩市須佐川を対象として，調査・分析を行った.この結果，避難勧告の発令基準は雨量と水位によって規定されているが，実際には水位のみで判断されていた.雨量を基に判断すれば1時間以上早く避難勧告が発令出来たことを示した住民は周囲の状況を見て避難を判断しており，膝上以上の水位の中，危険な避難行動を行っていた安全な避難を促すためには， 事前のリスクコミュニケーションと雨量を基にした避難準備情報の発表が必要であることを示した., The heavy rain disaster is increasing in Japan. Activities of the disaster risk management based on communities are important in small and aged community. The purposes of this paper are arranging the subjects of the community based disaster prevention activities and supporting to tlood risk in these community. The research region is Susa distrct in Hagi city which the record torrential rain fall caused heavy tlood disaster on 28th September，2013. Social researches were carried out for this disaster. Official announcement time for evacuation advisory was later than the standard. The residents evacuated in the very dangerous situation. The local government should give refuge preparation informormations considering with necessary time for refuge of aged persons., 論文

38. Influence of Microtopography and Alluvial Lowland Characteristics on Location and Development of Residential Areas in the Kuji River Basin of Japan.

Abstract

Adopting a comprehensive, basin-wide method for preventing flood disasters would be effective to deflect the climate-change-induced intensified water-related disasters. This study considers the land use and settlement patterns based on microtopography and flood risks. The influence of the microtopography and alluvial lowland characteristics on the location and development of residential areas in the Kuji River basin, Japan, is a fundamental aspect of historical knowledge. Investigating the relation between the microtopography and the location of antiquities shows that most of the relics dating to or before the third century were situated in the terraces near the lowlands. The development of lowlands near the mainstream of the Kuji River began around the third century. Furthermore, the relation between the microtopography and development of residential areas is investigated using building density as the development indicator. The results confirm the increase in building density in the alluvial surface, proving a history of flood damage and delayed development compared to other regions. This investigation reveals land development in areas, including the former river bed on the mouth of the Kuji River and the flood plain on the margins of the Hitachiota urban distinct, with no confirmed inhabitation before modern times because of elevated flooding risk.
