Objective: Cross-culturally adapt and validate, for Portuguese, the Hamilton Early Warning Score to detect clinical deterioration in emergency services., Method: Methodological study comprising the stages of translation, synthesis, back translation, expert committee (n=13), pre-test, submission, and analysis of the measurement properties in a sample of 188 patients. The Canadian Acute Scale Triage was compared with the Hamilton Early Warning Score. The Weighted Kappa Coefficient, Intraclass and Pearson Correlation Coefficient, Binary Logistic Regression and the Area Under the Receiver Operating Characteristic Curve were used for data analysis., Results: The Hamilton Early Warning Score showed excellent reliability, α=0.924 (p<0.001). The construct validity identified a strong and negative correlation r=-0.75 and the predictive one presented an odds ratio of 1.63, 95% CI (1.358-1.918) (p<0.001)., Conclusion: The Hamilton Early Warning Score in Portuguese is valid and reliable to recognize patients in a condition of clinical deterioration in emergency services.

Objective: to analyze the self-efficacy of elderly with type 2 diabetes mellitus and the relationship with sociodemographic, clinical, knowledge, and attitude variables., Method: a cross-sectional quantitative study conducted with 256 elderly people enrolled in Family Health Strategies. Data were obtained through interviews. Descriptive statistical analysis and multiple linear regression model were performed (p <0.05)., Results: female, 69.95-year mean age, white skin color, 4-7 years of schooling, living with a partner, retirees, low individual monthly income, 6 to 15 years of illness, Catholics, living with children (with or without spouse). The elderly's low knowledge and negative attitude prevailed. Self-efficacy was associated with attitude and knowledge in the domains "General and Specific Diet", "Physical Exercise" and "Blood Glucose"., Conclusion: self-efficacy investigations in type 2 Diabetes Mellitus management in the elderly are important and encourage treatment adherence.

Objective: To construct and validate an assessment instrument to evaluate the feet of people with diabetes mellitus in Brazil., Methods: Methodological research developed in three stages: construction of the Assessment Instrument for the Feet of People with Diabetes Mellitus, validation of face and content validity, and field research with 131 participating patients. The Pearson (r) and Spearman correlation coefficients (ρ) were used for criterion validity. To test reliability, the internal consistency of the Cronbach α domains was evaluated and simple κ, weighted κ, and intraclass correlation coefficients for interobserver evaluation were determined., Results: The instrument demonstrated validity and reliability. The content validity index represented a high internal consistency (α > .70). The interclass correlation coefficient was high (>0.98). The Pearson (r) and Spearman (ρ) correlation tests confirmed a correlation between the two variables., Conclusions: The instrument was valid and reliable for assessing the feet of people with diabetes mellitus in Brazil. Future studies should identify the cut off point for the diagnosis of neuropathic and vascular impairment of the feet of diabetic persons through appropriate statistical methods.

Objective: develop and validate a video on bed bathing directed to nursing professionals and students., Method: the video was based on the literature and presents the definition of bed bath, indications for its performance, steps to perform it, and potential complications. Nursing professors and nurses validated it. They assessed the pertinence of content, clarity, and language of the video scenes. The Delphi Technique was used in this phase. After recording, three nursing professors, along with undergraduate nursing students from a public university, assessed the educational video. The professors first watched the video and suggested changes, and then the students watched the video after the changes were implemented., Results: six rounds were needed for experts to validate the video script using the Delphi Technique. After the video recording, undergraduate students considered the video of easy understanding., Conclusion: the video script was composed of four topics and was validated by experts after six rounds. The video was assessed by the professors and nursing undergraduate students, who considered the topics and the video as a whole as apprehensible. This study is expected to contribute to professional training and improvement of the knowledge and skills of nursing students.

Objective: identify the occurrence of delirium in aged patients assisted in emergency services and verify its relationship with sociodemographic and clinical variables., Method: cross-sectional, prospective study with a quantitative approach. Two hundred aged hospitalized patients participated. The Confusion Assessment Method was used for data collection. For statistical analysis, chi-square tests, likelihood ratio and Fisher's test were used, with a significance level of 5%., Results: male gender and mean age of 71.8 years were predominant. In the first 24 hours of hospitalization, 56 (28%) aged individuals presented delirium. An association of the disease with lack of physical activity, presence of a caregiver, hypertension, dyslipidemia and cerebrovascular diseases was identified., Conclusion: Delirium was associated with no physical activity, the need of a caregiver, and the presence of comorbidities. The importance of conducting other studies that may lead to early identification of the condition to prevent its complications is emphasized.
