Featured Application: IoT-based transformer monitoring enhances predictive maintenance, reduces downtime, and optimizes power grid reliability and efficiency in smart grids. The adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) technology for transformer condition monitoring is increasingly replacing traditional methods. This systematic review aims to evaluate the existing research on IoT frameworks used in transformer condition monitoring, providing insights into their effectiveness and research trends. This review seeks to identify the leading IoT frameworks employed in transformer condition monitoring; analyze the key research objectives, methods, and outcomes; and assess the global research distribution and technological tools used in this field. A systematic literature review was conducted by searching published databases using keywords related to "Internet of Things", "transformers", "condition monitoring", and "fault diagnosis". The search spanned publications released between 2014 and 2024, yielding 262 articles. Of these, 120 met the predefined review criteria and were included for further analysis. This review found that Arduino boards are the most used microcontrollers for monitoring and analyzing transformer operational parameters, with Arduino IDE 1.8 being the predominant software for programming. The primary research focus in the reviewed literature is the identification of transformer faults. The geographical distribution of research contributions shows that India leads with 65% of the studies, followed by China (11%) and Pakistan (5%). The findings indicate a strong global interest in developing IoT-based transformer condition monitoring systems, particularly in India. This review highlights the potential of IoT technologies to enhance transformer monitoring and diagnostics. Antigenic peptides (APs), also known as T-cell epitopes (TCEs), represent the immunogenic segment of pathogens capable of inducing an immune response, making them potential candidates for epitope-based vaccine (EBV) design. Traditional wet lab methods for identifying TCEs are expensive, challenging, and time-consuming. Alternatively, computational approaches employing machine learning (ML) techniques offer a faster and more cost-effective solution. In this study, we present a robust XGBoost ML model for predicting TCEs of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus as potential vaccine candidates. The peptide sequences comprising TCEs and non-TCEs retrieved from Immune Epitope Database Repository (IEDB) were subjected to feature extraction process to extract their physicochemical properties for model training. Upon evaluation using a test dataset, the model achieved an impressive accuracy of 97.6%, outperforming other ML classifiers. Employing a five-fold cross-validation a mean accuracy of 97.58% was recorded, indicating consistent and linear performance across all iterations. While the predicted epitopes show promise as vaccine candidates for SARS-CoV-2, further scientific examination through in vivo and in vitro studies is essential to validate their suitability. Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is a common respiratory pathogen that infects the human lungs and respiratory tract, often causing symptoms similar to the common cold. Vaccination is the most effective strategy for managing viral outbreaks. Currently, extensive efforts are focused on developing a vaccine for RSV. Traditional vaccine design typically involves using an attenuated form of the pathogen to elicit an immune response. In contrast, peptide-based vaccines (PBVs) aim to identify and chemically synthesize specific immunodominant peptides (IPs), known as T-cell epitopes (TCEs), to induce a targeted immune response. Despite their potential for enhancing vaccine safety and immunogenicity, PBVs have received comparatively less attention. Identifying IPs for PBV design through conventional wet-lab experiments is challenging, costly, and time-consuming. Machine learning (ML) techniques offer a promising alternative, accurately predicting TCEs and significantly reducing the time and cost of vaccine development. This study proposes the development and evaluation of eight hybrid ML predictive models created through the permutations and combinations of two classification methods, two feature weighting techniques, and two feature selection algorithms, all aimed at predicting the TCEs of RSV. The models were trained using the experimentally determined TCEs and non-TCE sequences acquired from the Bacterial and Viral Bioinformatics Resource Center (BV-BRC) repository. The hybrid model composed of the XGBoost (XGB) classifier, chi-squared (ChST) weighting technique, and backward search (BST) as the optimal feature selection algorithm (ChST−BST–XGB) was identified as the best model, achieving an accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, F1 score, AUC, precision, and MCC of 97.10%, 0.98, 0.97, 0.98, 0.99, 0.99, and 0.96, respectively. Additionally, K-fold cross-validation (KFCV) was performed to ensure the model's reliability and an average accuracy of 97.21% was recorded for the ChST−BST–XGB model. The results indicate that the hybrid XGBoost model consistently outperforms other hybrid approaches. The epitopes predicted by the proposed model may serve as promising vaccine candidates for RSV, subject to in vitro and in vivo scientific assessments. The detection of Parkinson's disease (PD) is vital as it affects the population worldwide and decreases the quality of life. The disability and death rate due to PD is increasing at an unprecedented rate, more than any other neurological disorder. To this date, no diagnostic procedures exist for this disease. However, several computational approaches have proven successful in detecting PD at early stages, overcoming the disadvantages of traditional methods of diagnosis. In this study, a machine learning (ML) detection system based on the voice signals of PD patients is proposed. The AdaBoost classifier has been utilized to construct the model and trained on a dataset obtained from the machine learning repository of the University of California, Irvine (UCI). This dataset includes voice attributes such as time-frequency features, Mel frequency cepstral coefficients, wavelet transform features, vocal fold features, and tremor waveform quality time. The model demonstrated promising performance, achieving high accuracy, precision, recall, F1 score, and AUC score of 0.96, 0.98, 0.93, 0.95, and 0.99, respectively. Furthermore, the robustness of the proposed model is rigorously assessed through cross-validation, revealing consistent performance across all iterations. Space-based data centers (SBDCs) are environment-friendly and do not make use of Earth's water resources for cooling. The cooling of SBDCs can be realized via using water aboard asteroids. The feasibility of this approach requires further consideration and has not received sufficient research attention. The study being presented investigates the existence of water-bearing asteroids whose water resources can potentially be used for cooling the server payloads aboard the SBDC. This is undertaken by executing multi-criteria search queries on the Asterank asteroid database. Data analysis shows that water can be accessed from asteroids at less than 0.26 AU by privately owned space vehicles designed for Earth-to-Mars missions. In addition, the results of data analysis show that there is a regularity and symmetric pattern among different asteroids. Skin lesions have become a critical illness worldwide, and the earlier identification of skin lesions using dermoscopic images can raise the survival rate. Classification of the skin lesion from those dermoscopic images will be a tedious task. The accuracy of the classification of skin lesions is improved by the use of deep learning models. Recently, convolutional neural networks (CNN) have been established in this domain, and their techniques are extremely established for feature extraction, leading to enhanced classification. With this motivation, this study focuses on the design of artificial intelligence (AI) based solutions, particularly deep learning (DL) algorithms, to distinguish malignant skin lesions from benign lesions in dermoscopic images. This study presents an automated skin lesion detection and classification technique utilizing optimized stacked sparse autoencoder (OSSAE) based feature extractor with backpropagation neural network (BPNN), named the OSSAE-BPNN technique. The proposed technique contains a multi-level thresholding based segmentation technique for detecting the affected lesion region. In addition, the OSSAE based feature extractor and BPNN based classifier are employed for skin lesion diagnosis. Moreover, the parameter tuning of the SSAE model is carried out by the use of sea gull optimization (SGO) algorithm. To showcase the enhanced outcomes of the OSSAE-BPNN model, a comprehensive experimental analysis is performed on the benchmark dataset.
