The organisation of university education in Europe is undergoing profound changes as a consequence of the establishment of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). This transformation entails methodological changes that are focused on student work. The student is now considered to be an autonomous individual who is able to choose a path of study and capable of self-regulation. These objectives are believed to be achievable with hybrid learning models. The economic cost of including these methods makes it necessary to demonstrate whether the investment can be profitable in terms of improved academic results and increased acceptability among students. We analyse whether the use of two tools by students (assessments and forums) influences their grades and whether there are correlations between performance and the evaluation of the tool by students and between the evaluation and the degree of use. The sample consists of 176 students. We follow an ex post facto methodological design, with descriptive and correlational techniques. We found significant differences in the grades received according to the degree of use of the tools studied. Additionally, we found a correlation between grades and student evaluation.

Myeloid suppressor cells (MSCs) producing high levels of arginase I block T cell function by depleting l-arginine in cancer, chronic infections, and trauma patients. In cancer, MSCs infiltrating tumors and in circulation are an important mechanism for tumor evasion and impair the therapeutic potential of cancer immunotherapies. However, the mechanisms that induce arginase I in MSCs in cancer are unknown. Using the 3LL mouse lung carcinoma, we aimed to characterize these mechanisms. Arginase I expression was independent of T cell-produced cytokines. Instead, tumor-derived soluble factors resistant to proteases induced and maintained arginase I expression in MSCs. 3LL tumor cells constitutively express cyclooxygenase (COX)-1 and COX-2 and produce high levels of PGE2. Genetic and pharmacological inhibition of COX-2, but not COX-1, blocked arginase I induction in vitro and in vivo. Signaling through the PGE2 receptor E-prostanoid 4 expressed in MSCs induced arginase I. Furthermore, blocking arginase I expression using COX-2 inhibitors elicited a lymphocyte-mediated antitumor response. These results demonstrate a new pathway of prostaglandin-induced immune dysfunction and provide a novel mechanism that can help explain the cancer prevention effects of COX-2 inhibitors. Furthermore, an addition of arginase I represents a clinical approach to enhance the therapeutic potential of cancer immunotherapies.

This indication has to be confirmed by high quality studies in this and in other SSA settings, which should also explore whether and to what extent this improved hypertension control translates into reduced hypertension disease burden in Africa. El artículo presenta una visión histórica de las políticas de asistencia técnica agropecuaria en Colombia y destaca sus alcances en relación con el desarrollo territorial. Se identifican cuatro periodos que evidencian que los planteamientos de política evolucionaron hacia una visión territorial y descentralizada de la asistencia técnica, sin que esta tendencia se lograra consolidar en los últimos años. Se recomienda que el país recupere el enfoque de una asistencia técnica que integre, además de lo productivo, una perspectiva amplia del territorio en el que se ubican las unidades de producción.

Este artículo recoge las palabras introductorias al Coloquio Internacional sobre Desarrollo Rural con Enfoque Territorial organizado por el Grupo de Investigación en Gestión y Desarrollo Rural de la Universidad Nacional de Colombia, celebrado en Bogotá el 4 y 5 de marzo de 2010. Como marco de las sesenta ponencias expuestas durante el evento, se introducen los conceptos de territorio y de desarrollo rural con enfoque territorial y se examinan cinco elementos claves para abordar esta temática.

The current clinical nutrition paradigm is that decreased caloric intake, resulting in a caloric deficit, is central to the development disease-related malnutrition (DRM). In following with this paradigm, one should assume that nutrition interventions with artificially administered nutrition (food substitution paradigm) aimed at preventing a caloric deficit should result in the prevention and/or successful treatment of DRM. However, clear evidence demonstrates that the DRM observed in diverse illnesses is at least partially resistant to nutrition interventions aimed at preventing the development of a caloric deficit. Simply put, DRM cannot be prevented nor resolved through a nutrition intervention aimed solely on replacing what the person cannot or will not eat. It is time to stop oversimplifying nutrition therapy in clinical nutrition interventions as a food substitution issue, focusing instead on developing and testing innovative hypotheses aimed at a mechanistic understanding of how DRM develops. The large branches of Machine Learning represent an immense support for the detection of malicious websites, they can predict whether a URL is malicious or benign, leaving aside the cyber attacks that can generate for network users who are unaware of them. The objective of the research was to know the state of the art about Neural Networks and their impact for the Detection of malicious Websites in network users. For this purpose, a systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted from 2017 to 2021. The search identified 561 963 papers from different sources such as Taylor & Francis Online, IEEE Xplore, ARDI, ScienceDirect, Wiley Online Library, ACM Digital Library and Microsoft Academic. Of the papers only 82 were considered based on exclusion criteria formulated by the author. As a result of the SLR, studies focused on machine learning (ML), where it recommends the use of algorithms to have a better and efficient prediction of malicious websites. For the researchers, this review presents a mapping of the findings on the most used machine learning techniques for malicious website detection, which are essential for a study because they increase the accuracy of an algorithm. We have previously advocated that nutritional care be raised to the level of a human right in a close relationship to two well recognized fundamental rights: the right to food and the right to health. This paper aims to analyze the implication of nutritional care as a human right for healthcare practitioners. We will focus on the impact of the Human Rights Basic Approach (HRBA) on health care professionals (HCPs), namely how they can translate HRBA into routine clinical practice. Ethics and human rights are guiding values for clinical nutrition practitioners. Together they ensure a patient-centered approach, where the needs and rights of the patients are of the most significant importance. Human rights are based on the powerful idea of equal dignity for all people while expressing a set of core values, including fairness, respect, equality, dignity, and autonomy (FREDA). Through the analysis of FREDA principles, we have provided the elements to understand human rights and how a HRBA can support clinicians in the decision-making process. Clinical practice guidelines in clinical nutrition should incorporate disease-specific ethical issues and the HRBA. The HRBA should contribute to build conditions for HCPs to provide optimal and timely nutritional care. Nutritional care must be exercised by HCPs with due respect for several fundamental ethical values: attentiveness, responsibility competence, responsiveness, and solidarity. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
