Although flow in biological materials sometimes behaves like a continuous one, it cannot be simulated with continuity-based modeling when it comes to discontinuous flow behavior. The Discrete Element Method (DEM) in combination with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is a computational method for modeling particles in fluid flow by tracking their motion. DEM is widely used in the field of engineering, and its use in the agricultural field is increasing. This study analyzes the CFD-DEM relationship of biological material in aerodynamic systems and reviews current applications. In the article, the definition of aerodynamic systems as a basic principle, particle-fluid and particle-particle interaction forces in the system, modeling of particle motions, CFD-DEM coupling method, and analysis applications of agricultural aerodynamic systems are examined. In this study, simulation experiments were carried out at 100 g/s and 200 g/s straw feeding values at each value of 18-15-12-10-8-6-4 m/s air and straw inlet velocities. The flow near the cyclone walls caused the straw particles to be directed towards the lower exit end of the cyclone. At feed densities of 100 g/s and 200 g/s, the least particle output was obtained at a rate of 18 m/s. The highest cyclone output efficiency was obtained at feed densities of 100 g/s and 200 g/s at a velocity of 12 m/s. The compatibility of the trial simulation results with the literature showed that the CFD-DEM application is an important approach to study the behavior of particulate matter in fluids.

Amaç: Sepsis ve ilişkili bozulmuş inflamatuar yanıt, çoklu organ disfonksiyonuna ve sonunda ölüme yol açabilir. HMGB1, nekrotik hücreler tarafından pasif olarak salınır ve inflamatuar hücreler tarafından aktif olarak salgılanır ve hücre dışı bir sinyal molekülü görevi görür. Bu çalışmanın amacı, sepsis tanısı alan hastalar ile sağlıklı kontroller arasında serum HMGB1 düzeylerini karşılaştırmaktır.Yöntem: Çalışmaya Gaziantep Medical Park Hastanesi Yoğun Bakım Ünitesinde 2018-2019 yılları arasında tedavi gören sepsisli hastalar ile aynı hastanenin dahiliye polikliniğine rutin kontrol için başvuran herhangi bir hastalığı olmayan sağlıklı bireyler alındı. Hastalardan (tedavinin başlangıcından hemen önce) ve kontrol deneklerinde HMGB1 seviyeleri Bio-Techne kitleri (NBP2-62766) kullanılarak nicel olarak belirlendi. Tüm istatistiksel analizler SPSS for Windows 15.0 yazılım paketi kullanılarak yapıldı. Bulgular: Araştırmanın örneklemini 36 hasta (14 (%38,9) kadın ve 22 (%61,1) erkek) ve 35 sağlıklı gönüllü olmak üzere toplam 71 katılımcı oluşturmuştur. Inthis study, in three different nominal diameters of the shaft pump threedifferent water inlet cross-sectional areas were formed. In fixed wellequipment, the effects of each pump and cross-sectional area on well drawdown(Δ), noise level (G), power drawn from the mains (N), the total dynamic heightof the pump (TDY), water velocity (v1) between the pump with thecasing pipe, and pump water inlet velocity (v2) were investigated.At a constant flow rate, as the pump nominal diameter increases, the drawdownlevel increased. According to the water inlet cross-sectional area, the highestdrawdown was observed in KA3 with 50.26 cm. The highest noise levelwas measured at the M3 pump 81.67 dBA and the lowest noise level wasfound at the M1 pump 72.6 dBA. In general, as the nominal diameterof the pump increases, the noise level increased. Increasing the pump nominaldiameter has increased the power drawn from the mains. The total dynamic heightvalue has indicated an increase with the increase nominal diameter of the pump.At the highest flow rate of the pumps, the lowest TDY was obtained in thecross-sectional area of KA2. Increasing the pump nominal diameterincreased the velocity value v1, but the cross-sectional area hadindicated no effect on the velocity v1. Increasing the pump nominaldiameter and water inlet cross-sectional area decreased the speed values v2.Itwas found that the harmony between the nominal diameter of the pump and thewell-equippingpipehad an effect on the drawdown. Choosing a pump with a low diameter in theselection of the pump for the well will also cause the drawdown level to below., Buçalışmada üç değişik anma çapına sahip düşey milli pompanın üç farklı su girişkesit alanları oluşturulmuştur. Sabit kuyu donanımında, her bir pompa ve kesitalanın kuyu düşüm seviyesine (Δ), gürültü seviyesine (G), şebekeden çekilengüce (N), pompanın toplam dinamik yüksekliğine (TDY), pompa ile teçhiz borusuarasındaki su hızına (v1) ve pompa su giriş hızına (v2)etkileri incelenmiştir. Sabit debi değerinde pompa anma çapı arttıkça düşümseviyesi yükselmiştir. Debi, pompa ve kesit alanı parametrelerine ve bunlarınikili, üçlü interaksiyonlarının düşüm değerlerine uygulanan varyans analizisonuçları istatistiksel olarak %1 seviyesinde anlamlı çıkmıştır. Pompalariçerisinde en az düşüm 28.12 cm ile M1 pompasında en fazla düşüm ise74.01 cm ile M3 pompasında görülmüştür. Su giriş kesit alanlarıbakımından en fazla düşüm 50.26 cm ile KA3 ‘de görülmüştür. En fazlagürültü seviyesi 81.67 dBA ile M3 pompasında an az ise 72.6 dBA ileM1 pompasında ölçülmüştür. Genel olarak pompa anma çapı arttıkçagürültü seviyesi artmıştır. Pompa anma çapının artması şebekeden çekilen güçdeğerini artırmıştır. Toplam dinamik yükseklik değeri pompa anma çapı ile artışgöstermiştir. Pompaların en yüksek debi değerlerinde KA2 kesitalanında en düşük TDY elde edilmiştir. Pompa anma çapının artması v1hız değerini artırmış ancak kesit alanının v1 hızı üzerine etkisiolmamıştır. Pompa anma çapının ve su giriş kesit alanının artması v2hız değerini düşürmüştür. Pompa anma çapı ile kuyu teçhiz borusu arasındakiuyumun düşüm üzerine etkisinin olduğu saptanmıştır. Kuyu için pompa seçimindedüşük çaplı pompa seçimi düşüm seviyesinin de az olmasına neden olacaktır.

Background: High-grade gliomas, with glioblastomas as the most frequently observed histologic subtype, are the most common primary brain tumours in adults. It is considered that inflammatory responses play a major role in malignancies, including tumour progression. This study aimed to determine the prognostic significance of the neutrophil to lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and the thrombocyte to lymphocyte ratio (PLR) as indicators of systemic inflammatory response (SIR) in glioblastoma patients. Methods: A total of 90 patients treated for glioblastoma were retrospectively evaluated. Absolute counts were used to generate NLR and PLR. A SIR was considered to be present with an NLR ≥5 and/or PLR ≥150. Results: Median follow-up time was 11.3 months (range: 1-70 months). The 1-year and 2-year overall survival rates were 55.2% and 19.5%, respectively. Univariate analysis showed that there was no correlation between overall survival and gender (p=0.184), comorbid disease (p = 0.30), clinical presentation (p = 0.884), or tumour lateralization (p = 0.159). Multivariate analysis showed that overall survival was significantly correlated with SIR based on NLR (HR: 2.41), and ECOG performance status (HR: 1.53). The prognostic factors that affected survival, other than SIR, were Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG) performance status (p = 0.003), and tumour localization (p = 0.006). Conclusion: The present findings confirm that NLR based on peripheral blood counts prior to treatment can be used as a prognostic factor in patients with glioblastoma. Since tumour aggression increases and survival decreases as the NLR value rises, choice of treatment modality is facilitated for glioblastoma patients.

Bu çalışmada havacılıkta kullanılan helisel iç ve dış dişli çiftlerinin profil optimizasyonu, eğilme gerilimi, temas gerilimi ve sürtme aşınması limitasyonları yapılmıştır. Havacılık dişlileri ayrıca standart dışı modül, basınç açısı ve helis açısına sahiplerdir. AGMA 925 standardı sürtünme aşınması sıcaklığı hesabında kullanılır. Analitik metot MATLAB programında kodlamalar geliştirilerek düzenlenmiştir. Bütün sonuçlar KISSOFT ticari yazılımı ile karşılaştırılmıştır ve KISSOFT programının dişli kökü hesabında enine düzlemi kullandığı ve dişli boşluğunun eğilme gerilimi geometri faktörü hesabı üzerindeki etkisini ihmal ettiği gözlemlenmiştir. Aerospace gears are produced by grinding method and can have arbitrary addendum circle and dedendum circle radii and rounded gear root as opposite to the gears produced by traditional method such as rack and pinion generation method. The aerospace gears have also nonstandard module, pressure angle and helix angle. In this study, helical external and internal aerospace gear pairs are optimized by considering bending stress, contact stress and scuffing limitations. Pinion and gear number of teeth, normal module, helix angle, pressure angle, pinion shifting coefficient, center distance, pinion addendum radius, gear addendum radius, pinion dedendum radius and gear dedendum radius are taken into consideration as the design parameters which are to be optimized. Pinion and gear rotational speeds, input power, Young Modulus and Poisson ratios of the pinion and gear material, Contact and Bending strength of the gear material are taken as input parameters. All the possible gear pairs are considered in terms of contact stress, bending stress, scuffing temperature, tiff clearance, top land thickness, root form radius and tip clearance limitations. AGMA 908-B89 is used for evaluating the contact stress geometry factor. AGMA 2001-D04 is used for evaluating the bending and contact stress. The rounded gear root evaluation is conducted for cylindrical gear pairs. The bending stress geometry factor is implemented for gear pairs which have rounded gear root. AGMA 925 is used for evaluating the flash temperature and scuffing evaluations. The analytical method is conducted in MATLAB. All the obtained results are compared with KISSOFT commercial tool and it is observed that KISSOFT uses only the transverse plane in the gear root evaluation and does not consider the backlash effect on the bending stress geometry factor evaluation. The minimum center distance optimization has a crucial role in aerospace applications to decrease the weight of an air vehicle. The minimum weight design solutions are obtained by using the minimum center distance optimization. 192

Bu çalışmada, dalgıç tip derin kuyu pompalarının çalışma parametreleri belirlenmiş, farklı anma çapı ve su giriş kesit alanlarındaki kritik dalma derinlikleri araştırılmıştır. Denemeler üç farklı çıkış çapına sahip dalgıç pompalarda yapılmıştır. Her bir pompa için üç farklı su giriş kesit alanında (KA) beş farklı debi (Q) değerinde ve farklı dalma derinliği (S) seviyelerinde; gürültü seviyesi (G), şebekeden çekilen güç (N), pompaya su giriş hızları (v1,v2), çıkış basıncı (Pb), giriş basıncı (Pe) ve kamera görüntüleri (K1,K2) olmak üzere ölçümler yapılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre pompaların her üç anma çapı ve kesit alanı için debi değeri arttıkça kritik dalma derinliği seviyeleri yükselmiştir. Dalgıç pompalar için en yüksek kritik dalma derinliği seviyesi 1000 mm ile D1 pompasında, en düşük seviye ise 10 mm ile D3 pompasında bulunmuştur. Kesit alanının küçültülmesi kritik dalma derinliği seviyesini yükseltmiştir. Pompa anma çapları ve kritik dalma derinliği seviyeleri arasında ters bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. Pompaların anma çapı arttıkça kritik dalma derinliği seviyesi azalmıştır. Vortekslerin genellikle 20 ile 100 mm arasındaki dalma derinliklerinde oluştuğu görüntülenmiştir. Ayrıca vortesk tiplerine kuyu kesit alanının, akış hızının ve pompaların yapısal özelliklerinin etkili olduğu belirlenmiştir. Kuyu besleme borularının tam açık olduğu konumda pompa anma çapı arttıkça kuyuda meydana gelen düşüm seviyeleri artış göstermiştir. Sabit debi değerlerinde en yüksek düşüm seviyesi dalgıç pompalar 90 m3 h-1 debi değerinde 1590 mm ile D3 pompasında meydana gelmiştir., In this study, the operating parameters of submersible pumps were determined and the critical submergence were investigated in different nominal diameters and water inlet cross-sectional areas. The experiments were carried out on the submersible pumps with three different output diameters. At different levels of submergence (S) and five different flow rates (Q) for each pump in three different water inlet cross sections(KA); noise level (G), power drawn from the mains (N), water inlet velocities (v1, v2), outlet pressure (Pb), inlet pressure (Pe) and camera images (K1, K2) measurements were made. According to the results of the study; as the flow rate increased, the critical submergence levels increased for all three nominal diameters and cross-sectional areas of the pumps. The highest critical depth for the submersible pumps was found in the D1 pump with a depth of 1000 mm and the lowest level in the D3 pump with 10 mm. The reduction of the cross-sectional area increased the critical submergence. It was seen that there is an inverse relationship between pump nominal diameters and critical plunge submergence. It was viewed by cameras that the vortices usually occur at submergence between 20 and 100 mm.In addition, it was determined that well cross-sectional area, the flow velocity and the structural properties of the pumps are effective in the vortex types. At the position where the well feed pipes were fully opened, as the nominal diameter of the pump increased, the drawdown in the well increased. In this study, a functional graded material (FGM) consisted of NiTi NiAl and Ni3Al were manufactured by self-propagating high-temperature synthesis (SHS) technique. These three different compound powders were mixed in a rotating container after accurately weighed and cold compacted under 200 MPa pressure. These pressed samples were produced for 200, 300 and 400 ° C preheating temperature by igniting with high voltage under argon gas atmosphere. The microstructures of these functional graded materials were examined by microscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD). Consequently, functional graded material successful generated by SHS in every three preheating temperature and the metallic desired compounds were obtained but, it was seen that apart from the main phases in the intersection there are other phases with more melting and gaps., Bu çalışmada, Ni3Al/NiAl/NiTi bileşiklerinden oluşan fonksiyonel derecelenmiş malzeme(FDM) kendi kendine ilerleyen yüksek sıcaklık sentezlemesi (KKIYSS) tekniği ile üretilmiştir. Bu üç farklı bileşiği oluşturacak tozlar hassas bir şekilde tartıldıktan sonra mekanik olarak karıştırılmış ve 200 MPa basınçla preslenmiştir. Preslenen numuneler, 200, 300 ve 400 °C ön ısıtma sıcaklıklarında yüksek voltajlı tutuşturma yöntemi (YVTY) ile argon gazı atmosferinde ateşlenerek üretimi gerçekleştirilmiştir. Üretilen bu fonksiyonel derecelenmiş malzemelerin mikroyapıları optik mikroskop, Taramalı Elektron Mikroskobu (SEM) ve X-Işınları Kırınım Cihazı (XRD) ile incelenmiş. Sonuç olarak, KKIYSS yöntemi ile her üç ön ısıtma sıcaklığında da fonksiyonel derecelenmiş malzeme başarıyla üretilmiş ve istenen metaller arası bileşikler elde edilmiş ancak arakesitlerde daha fazla ergime ve boşluk ile birlikte ana fazlar dışında fazların da oluştuğu görülmüştür.

Bu calismanin genel amaci, dipkazan ile calisma sirasinda gereksinim duyulan traktor ceki gucunun azaltilmasina yonelik alternatif yontemlerin etkinliginin belirlenmesidir. Bu amacla dipkazanin on kismina calisma derinligi dipkazana gore daha az olan iki degisik tipte (bicak keski ve disk keski) ek donanim takilarak farkli ilerleme hizlarinda (yuksek, orta, dusuk) ceki kuvveti, ceki gucu, yakit tuketimi, is basarisi, toprak penetrasyon direnci, toprak nem icerigi ve hacimsel kutle degerleri tespit edilmistir. Deneme alanlarinin her birinde iki dipkazan uygulamasi (titresimli ve titresimsiz) uygulanmistir. Calismada; ceki kuvveti, ceki gucu ve yakit tuketimine ait en dusuk degerler titresimli konumunda standart dipkazan uygulamasinda, en yuksek degerler ise sabit konumunda disk keski donanimli dipkazan uygulamasinda elde edilmistir. Is basarisina ait en dusuk deger standart konumlu bicak keski donanimli dipkazan uygulamasinda, en yuksek deger ise sabit konumlu disk keski donanimli dipkazan uygulamasinda elde edilmistir. WOS: 000363103100008 Objective: Prostate cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths. Oxidative DNA damage may contribute to the prostate cancer. The paraoxonase (PON1) is an endogenous antioxidant in the human body. The aim of our study was to determine whether lipid parameters, total oxidant capacity (TOC), total antioxidant capacity (TAC), oxidative stress index (OSG), serum paraoxonase (PON1) and arylesterase (ARE) levels and phenotypes distribution alter new diagnosis in patients with prostate cancer and to compare the values with those of healthy controls. Methods: The study was performed prospective which consist of the prostate cancer group (PC) and healthy control group. Serum PON1, ARE activities, and other parameters were measured in 40 subjects in both groups. The PON1 phenotypes were defined according to the ratio of serum PON1/ARE activity. In statistical evaluation of data was performed by Student t test and Pearson's correlation analysis. Results: TKOL and LDL-K levels were found to be lower in the patients compared to controls (p=0,044; p=0,026). OSI levels in patients was higher than the controls (p=0,029). PON1 and ARE activities were found to be lower in patients compared to the controls (p=0,040; p=0,027). PON1 enzyme activity was determined as three different phenotypes in both groups. In PC group, significant deviation of PON1 phenotype frequencies from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium was found. Conclusion: The results of our study suggest that oxidative stress, through lipid peroxidation may play an important role for the development of prostate cancer and that PON1, and PON1 phenotyping may be predictive for prostate cancer.

Bu çalışmada sulama amaçlı santrifüj pompanın performans testlerinde kullanılan değişik güç ölçme yöntemleri ile ölçülen pompa mil gücüne göre hesaplanan ve pompa etkinliğinde ortaya çıkan farklılıklar araştırılmıştır. Araştırmada 6” anma çapındaki yatay milli santrifüj pompanın üç farklı devir sayısındaki pompa mil gücü değerleri dört değişik yöntemle belirlenmiştir. Pompa etkinliği toplam sistematik bağıl hataları (S?), Y1, Y2, Y3 ve Y4 yöntemlerinde sırasıyla %2.65, %4.12, %3.85 ve %2.26 olarak hesaplanmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda doğrudan güç ölme yöntemi (Y4) ile yapılan testlerde elde edilen pompa etkinliği değerleri Y1, Y2 ve Y3 elektriksel güç ölçme (dolaylı) yöntemlerine göre % olarak sırasıyla 6.1, 19.3 ve 5.0 daha yüksek bulunmuştur. Garanti edilen pompa etkinlik değerleri Y4 yöntemine göre yeterli olurken diğer üç yöntemde yetersiz olmuştur., In this study, differences that occur in pump efficiency calculated according to pump shaft power measured different methods of measuring the power used for irrigation centrifugal pump performance tests were investigated. In this research, values of the pump shaft power of 6" nominal diameter and horizontal shafted centrifugal pump at three different rpm are determined in four different methods. Total systematic relative errors (Sη) of pump efficiency are calculated by Y1, Y2, Y3 and Y4 methods as ±%2.65, ±%4.12, ±%3.85 and ±%2.26 respectively. As a result of research; pump efficiency values Y1, Y2 and Y3 gained by direct power measurement method (Y4) tests are more than values gained by (indirect) electrical power measurement methods and they can be indicated % 6.1, % 19.3 and % 5.0 respectively. Guaranteed pump efficiency values determined by other three methods are inadequate, while determined by Y4 method is adequate.

Bitkilerin agro-teknik özelliklerinden başlıcalar; toprak sıcaklığı, hava, su, bitki besin elementleri ve toprağın yoğunluğudur. Toprak yoğunluğunu etkileyen en önemli faktör sıkışmadır. Sıkışma ise, toprak içerisindeki boşluklardan havanın uzaklaştırılması diğer bir ifade ile toprak havasının hacmindeki azalmaya bağlı olarak, toprağın toplam hacminin azalması ve toprak parçacıklarının birbirine yaklaşması ile hacimsel kütlesinin artmasıdır (Korucu et al 2003).Toprak, farklı uygulamalar sonucunda değişik şekillerde sıkışmaya maruz kalmaktadır. Sıkışmanın önlenebilmesi veya azaltılabilmesi için ise alınması gereken çeşitli önlemlerden birisi de derin toprak işleme veya dip patlatmadır (Kok et al 1996; CASCE 1996; Jones et al 1997 ; 1999; Peet 2002).Derin toprak işleme veya dip patlatma; topraklarda oluşan sıkışmış taba kayı toprağın yapısına zarar vermeden parçalamak için uç demirinin ünite genişliğine bağlı olarak değişmekle birlikte genellikle 25 ile 50 cm derinlikte yapılması gereken bir toprak işleme uygulamasıdır. Çalışmalarda, uygun toprak ve nem koşullarında dip patlatmanın verimde % 50’ye varan artışlar sağlayabileceği belirtilmektedir (Kirişci 1999; Yalçın & Çakır 2006). Bir başka çalışmada ise, derin toprak işlemenin toprak içerisindeki suyun hareketini hızlandırdığı, bitki köklerinin daha derinlere indiği, bitki boyunda daha fazla uzama veverim de % 35-70 oranında artışa yol açtığını belirtmişlerdir (Chaudhary et al 1985). Karoonboonyanan et al (2007), titreşimli ve titreşimsiz dipkazan kullanımı sonucunda elde edilen toplam güç, düşey ve yatay çeki kuvveti değerleri arasında istatistiksel olarak farklılıkların (P, Bu çalışmanın genel amacı, dipkazan ile çalışma sırasında gereksinim duyulan traktör çeki gücünün azaltılmasına yönelik alternatif yöntemlerin etkinliğinin belirlenmesidir. Bu amaçla dipkazanın ön kısmına çalışma derinliği dipkazana göre daha az olan iki değişik tipte (bıçak keski ve disk keski) ek donanım takılarak farklı ilerleme hızlarında (yüksek, orta, düşük) çeki kuvveti, çeki gücü, yakıt tüketimi, iş başarısı, toprak penetrasyon direnci, toprak nem içeriği ve hacimsel kütle değerleri tespit edilmiştir. Deneme alanlarının her birinde iki dipkazan uygulaması (titreşimli ve titreşimsiz) uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada; çeki kuvveti, çeki gücü ve yakıt tüketimine ait en düşük değerler titreşimli konumunda standart dipkazan uygulamasında, en yüksek değerler ise sabit konumunda disk keski donanımlı dipkazan uygulamasında elde edilmiştir. İş başarısına ait en düşük değer standart konumlu bıçak keski donanımlı dipkazan uygulamasında, en yüksek değer ise sabit konumlu disk keski donanımlı dipkazan uygulamasında elde edilmiştir. Titreşimli uygulamalarda iş başarısının artış gösterdiği belirlenmiştir. Hız artışına bağlı olarak iş başarısında bir artış olduğu görülmüştür.

Farklı gözenek oranlarına sahip gözenekli NiTi alaşımı, implant malzeme olarak kullanılmak amacıyla, toz metalürji yöntemlerinden kendi-ilerleyen yüksek-sıcaklık sentezi (SHS: self-propagating high-temperature synthesis) ile üretildi. Üretimde, Ni-%49,5Ti atomik oranında Ni ve Ti tozları 24 saat süreyle karıştırılarak farklı basınçlarda soğuk preslendi. Preslenen ham gözenekli numuneler hazırlanan bir fırın içerisinde soygaz ortamında 200 °C’de ön ısıtma yapılarak ve yüksek voltajla tutuşturularak sentezlendi. Sonuç olarak, farklı gözenek şekillerine sahip açık ve kapalı gözeneklerin meydana geldiği görülmüştür. Ayrıca presleme basıncının artması ile gözenek oranın azaldığı ve basma dayanımlarının arttığı belirlendi.
