Understanding how employees respond to HR systems is a critical question in the strategic HR literature and the need for more nuanced theoretical frameworks explaining who responds differentially to HR systems persists. Drawing on a contingency perspective and the theory of purposeful work behavior, we present a theoretical framework that suggests that employee motivational goal strivings interact with commensurate HR bundles (communion‐enhancing HR bundles, status‐enhancing HR bundles, and achievement‐enhancing HR bundles) to predict employee job performance. Based on survey data collected from 362 employees in 84 service units, our findings reveal that the effects of communion and status strivings on job performance are more positive and stronger for employees in units with higher levels of communion‐enhancing HR bundles and status‐enhancing HR bundles, respectively. In contrast, the effect of achievement goal strivings on job performance is weaker in units with higher levels of achievement‐enhancing HR bundles. These findings have significant implications for both theoretical and practical perspectives, shedding light on the role of employee motivations in shaping the effectiveness of HR bundles on employee performance. Hybrid organizations must sustainably attend to multiple goals embedded in different institutional spheres. Past research has highlighted the value for hybrids in recruiting board members representing different logics to avoid attentional drifts; yet, diverse boards have also been prone to conflicts that occasion attentional lapses, thereby jeopardizing these organizations' pursuit of multiple goals. We draw on a longitudinal comparative case study of five work integration social enterprises with institutionally diverse boards to uncover an integrative model of hybrid governance consisting of a protective board structure and relational leadership processes that, together, prevent distracting cognitive and emotional conflicts and foster attentional engagement of both the board and senior managers to multiple goals. The protective board structure prevents shifts in board composition and ensures the enshrined representation of the organization's logics. Relational leadership processes—which help board members relate to each other, with the organization's mission, and with senior managers—include enculturation processes (i.e., interventions to reduce the cognitive and emotional gap between institutionally diverse board members) and bridging processes (i.e., interventions to facilitate communication and alignment between the board and senior managers in the decision-making process). Despite two decades of evolution as an area of research and practice, talent management faces ongoing criticism for being overly static in its approach, offering little in terms of enabling strategic agility. This is problematic as organizations increasingly rely on strategic agility to manage their dynamic business operations. Drawing on matching theory and adopting an agility lens, we explore the link between talent management and strategic agility. Through a qualitative research design, encompassing 34 interviews in 15 organizations, we explicate a skills‐matching perspective on talent management, including initial and dynamic skills‐matching in external and internal labor markets. Through this process, organizations can build a set of dynamic capabilities, underlying two meta‐capabilities, strategic sensitivity and resource fluidity, which enable strategic agility. In doing so, we portray skills‐matching as an illustration of a processual view on talent management and create a model of developing strategic agility through skills‐matching, responsive to external and internal demands. A fundamental organization design principle is to group interdependent roles into the same subunits to minimize coordination costs. However, observations in organizations, as well as theorizing in other subfields, such as corporate governance, indicate that interdependent roles sometimes perform conflicting functions, suggesting that they should be separated rather than integrated. Building on work in systems theory and axiomatic design theory, we discuss how to reconcile these two perspectives. Our key proposal is to distinguish between ends and means, or functions (e.g., goals or mandates) and structures (e.g., roles). This conceptualization makes it possible for two roles to be simultaneously interdependent in work processes yet conflicted in goals. Our framework leads to a modification of the traditional organization design principle of grouping based on interdependencies. It also suggests an alternative explanation for the division of labor within organizations: Organizations divide labor not only to capture gains from specialization but also to avoid functional conflict. Organizations often involve collaboration such that when they function well, their members engage in purposive coordination and cooperation with others. Previous research has focused on the role of shared, organizational-level goals and supportive governance mechanisms in promoting collaboration. But this research has not adequately addressed the question of the role of moral legitimacy in sustaining commitment to organizational goals and in facilitating good governance. In this article, we identify novel ethical microfoundations of collaborative organizations, explaining the role of organizational ethics in supporting organization-level goals and good governance. We draw upon virtue ethics, adopting a practice perspective on joint production to explain how standards of professional excellence and the virtues function so as to sustain commitment to organizational goals within collaborative organizations. We also draw upon goal-framing theory to articulate the reciprocal and mutually supportive relationship between governance and virtue, where governance requires virtue to function well, and virtue is sustained by governance mechanisms. Work in the gig economy is championed by platform organizations as affording individuals the flexibility to decide when, where, and how much they wish to work. The reality is more complex. In app‐based gig work, we propose the concept of "algorithmic HRM control," which acts as an omnipresent and distinctive control system that differs from traditional forms of control in two significant ways: first, the reliance upon, and pervasiveness of, algorithmic technologies in its enactment; and second, the substantial direct and indirect influence of non‐organizational parties in controlling workers. Through a qualitative research design, this article delineates the scope of algorithmic HRM control in allocating and coordinating tasks, managing performance and rewards, and aligning the actions of workers with organizational objectives. Our analysis also unpacks the rigidity and complexities of the control system, as experienced by workers, and the influential role of non‐organizational parties in exerting unique, distinct forms of control. In so doing, we build upon emerging research on the duality of algorithmic HRM by revealing the inherent flaws or challenges from the perspective of the most central party—the gig worker. While scholars have attended to the performance implications of employee embeddedness in social networks within the workplace, less research accounts for the interface of employee and organizational values in enabling employees to leverage these networks. Network perspectives on employee performance acknowledge that certain informal network positions create resources that are beneficial for performance while simultaneously creating demands that may diminish or erode these benefits. Leveraging a Job Demands‐Resources (JD‐R) perspective, we suggest that person–organization (PO) fit—the perceived congruence between individual and organizational values—will play a crucial role in shaping the performance effects of demands and resources inherently generated by workplace relationships. Results suggest that PO fit moderates relationships between network positions and individual job performance. Specifically, we find that having many friendships or being heavily sought out for advice enhances performance for those with higher levels of PO fit. Supplemental analyses highlight that incoming friendships or advice ties that are cross‐functional are still beneficial for those among the highest in PO fit, but also that these same network positions can be detrimental for employees who are among the lowest in PO fit. These results contribute to a more nuanced understanding of the demands and resources generated by informal networks and how the translation of these features into performance is contingent upon the extent to which an employee identifies with organizational values. Objectives: To investigate community health centers' (CHCs) health literacy. Design: A cross‐sectional study. Sample: A total of 374 CHCs were surveyed and 258 CHCs responded, with an effective questionnaire response rate of 69.0%. Measurements: Data were collected by using a self‐developed health literacy assessment tool to survey CHCs' health literacy throughout Taiwan from January to December 2019. Results: The item of organizational health literacy (OHL) with the highest proportion of CHCs not implementing them was "Design of easy‐to‐use computer applications and new media" (47.3% not yet achieved), followed by "Involving target audiences in document and service development" (34.9% not yet achieved). CHCs located in northern Taiwan had higher health literacy achievement scores than those in other regions, and those in urban areas had higher health literacy achievement scores than those in general and remote areas. Conclusions: This study identified items with poor implementation of OHL and found regional differences in health literacy among CHCs. The findings can inform the development of targeted interventions to improve health literacy in underperforming CHCs and guide policymakers in allocating resources to regions and areas in need of. Although researchers have devoted great effort to explore the antecedents of altruistic behaviours (a type of organisational citizenship behaviours), the important role of technical factors (social media) remains unclear. Drawing on social comparison and organisational support theory, this study explored how social media affordances influence employees' altruistic behaviours from both positive and negative perspectives. In this study, 302 employees from organisations in China were surveyed. We found that social media affordances could facilitate employees' perceived organisational support and social comparison of ability. Perceived organisational support positively mediated the relationship between social media affordances and altruistic behaviours. Although the evidence did not support the notion that social comparison of ability could directly dampen altruistic behaviours, a post-hoc analysis found that it could dampen the positive impact of perceived organisational support on developing altruistic behaviours. This study expanded previous research focusing on only positive or negative effects of social media use in the workplace by investigating the dual effects and the interaction effect in between. Context: Medical education relies on real patient learning (RPL) to provide medical students with essential clinical experience. However, growing demand for clinical placements continues to be a challenge in providing sufficient RPL opportunities. The COVID‐19 pandemic forced academic institutions to rethink the delivery of traditional clinical training and innovations in online clinical learning experiences, specifically livestreamed clinical experiences, have emerged which show promise in addressing the capacity limitations of traditional placements. Although previous reviews have explored the use of livestreamed clinical experiences during the pandemic, there is a lack of rigorous theoretical framing to support these innovations. Objectives: The aim of this review is two‐fold: to examine the effectiveness of livestreamed clinical experiences through an experience‐based learning (ExBL) theory perspective and to provide practical recommendations to optimise and implement these innovations. Methods: A review of literature was conducted to identify journal articles published between September 2019 and January 2023 reporting on innovations relating to livestreamed clinical experiences. The search focused on undergraduate and postgraduate medical education but relevant evidence from other healthcare professions were also included due to a limited evidence base. Strengths and weaknesses were derived from the literature and analysed in relation to ExBL components. Results: Principal strengths of livestreamed clinical experiences included expanded access to RPL opportunities and medical specialties, enhanced standardisation of learning experiences and positive perceptions from students regarding convenience. Clinical educators found these innovations enabled teaching at scale. Patients did not perceive such innovations to negatively impact their standard of care. Limitations included the inability to practice physical examination skills, challenges in ensuring learner engagement and connectivity issues. Conclusion: Livestreamed clinical experiences have the potential to effectively expand placement capacity and provide high‐quality educational experiences for medical students. Although certain limitations exist, technological and pedagogical adaptations can help overcome these challenges. Purpose: Business strategy issues increasingly concern value realized from supply resources. However, how supply resources are valorized by managerial factions in a strategic issue setting is not sufficiently explored. In organizations operating in complex business contexts, several strategic agendas and supply value perceptions typically coexist. This study aims to explore the process of developing corporate attention towards supply-related strategic issues and how it links to sourcing strategy. Design/methodology/approach: An explorative longitudinal case study within the food industry is conducted. Data are collected in a four year period. Working physically from the case company made it possible to be close to the company's actors. The first author participated in 26 formal team meetings ranging from 1.5 h to 3 days long, conducted 28 interviews across managerial levels and functions and participated in informal verbal and written communications. Findings: This study explores strategizing efforts of organizations and scrutinize consequences of strategic ambiguity for sourcing strategy and supply resources. Furthermore, this study outlines implications for management and theory development. Research limitations/implications: Since this paper is based on an in-depth single case study, its findings are not empirically generalizable. Practical implications: This paper suggests that managers should pay stronger attention to constituents' valuation of supply resources, and how they fit with the different strategic agendas within the firm. By doing so, a more comprehensive supply resource mobilization is possible. Originality/value: Business strategy research increasingly focuses on the value of supply resources for a buying firm's business strategy (Kotabe and Murray 2018; Lee and Rammohan 2017; Schiele, Calvi, and Gibbert 2012). In a context where the value obtained from sourcing is gaining increased importance, more organizations link supply policies with corporate strategic goals (Andersen, Ellegaard, and Kragh 2016; Hesping and Schiele 2015; Pardo et al., 2011). Purpose: This study analyses the effects of firm efficiency on firm performance and how controlling shareholders moderate the link between the two variables. Design/methodology/approach: This study employs data envelopment analysis to estimate firm efficiency and the panel regression method to assess the hypothesised relationships among 1,295 firm-year observations of publicly listed firms in Malaysia from 2015 to 2019. Findings: The results indicate that firm efficiency (technical efficiency, pure technical efficiency and scale efficiency) has mixed relationships with firm performance (return on assets, market-to-book ratio and operating cash flows), all of which are being moderated by controlling shareholdings. Practical implications: This study highlights the importance of assessing firm efficiency as the key success factor for improving firm performance. Industrial managers should manage efficiently their resources or operating costs in achieving their corporate financial goals. Moreover, this study notes the presence of controlling shareholders, who can be either self-interested or company goal aligned. Originality/value: This study suggests becoming efficient in transforming inputs into outputs is a prerequisite before investigating accrual-based and cash-based firm performance measures, and the presence of controlling shareholders matters in these regards. Despite the prevalence and importance of multiple goals for organizations, research on how organizations respond to performance on multiple goals continues to be limited and has examined only search intensity as the focal response, ignoring that search may occur in different locations. We extend the research on multiple goals by developing and testing novel theory on the relationship between performance feedback on multiple goals and the locus of search. Drawing upon the behavioral theory of the firm and using panel data from global pharmaceutical firms, we first show that when performance is below aspirations on a primary goal, a firm's propensity to engage in distal search increases along both the technological (i.e., familiar vs. unfamiliar search) and the organizational dimension (i.e., internal vs. external search). However, building on more recent literature that points to the need to consider multiple goals of unequal importance and, specifically, the self-enhancement perspective, we argue and find that performance on a secondary goal modifies this pattern, particularly when performance on a primary goal is unsatisfactory. Under feedback inconsistency, where performance on a primary goal is low but performance on a secondary goal is high, decision-makers decrease distal search to both unfamiliar technological areas and areas external to the organization. Our theory and findings highlight the importance of performance feedback regarding multiple goals in regulating the key locus of search choices and extend research on self-enhancement and learning from performance feedback. The case is based on the current performance management system (PMS) followed by THDC India Ltd. (THDCIL). It intends to provide inputs about the importance of sound and objective performance management as a key HR subsystem that helps in planning, measuring and integrating performance, contributing towards organizational and business objectives, and developing a collaborative organizational culture. The case portrays an incident of performance review grievance between a superior (Mr Ajay Kumar) and a subordinate (Mr Prashant Kumar) and shows an organization's struggle to handle an inefficient performance planning claim by a subordinate. Despite creating a clear mandate and SMART (specific, measurable, attainable, realistic and timely) PMS goals, the HR team and employees are continuously showing resistance to discuss and develop SMART KRAs and KPIs collaboratively. It further talks about the issues in the performance planning process regarding goal setting, providing regular feedback and managing performance effectively while actively engaging employees. It also states how an incident about the unsatisfactory appraisal rating of Mr Prashant Kumar led to organizational chaos and employee dissatisfaction. It further provides insights into managing an aggrieved manager using performance review discussion and coaching. It also intends to give students an insight into the different steps in designing and modifying performance management to suit business requirements. This study explored how two types of parental involvement, collaboration and conflict, related to teachers’ commitment to their school. As political skills involve understanding others at work and using that knowledge to influence in ways that serve personal or organizational objectives, we proposed that these skills act as a resilience factor for teachers in challenging interactions with parents. The research involved a questionnaire administered to 296 teachers. The results support the hypothesis of a connection between parental involvement and teachers’ commitment. Purpose: The study aims to identify Green Lean Six Sigma (GLSS) barriers in the context of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and prioritize them for executing the GLSS approach. Design/methodology/approach: A systematic literature review (SLR) was used to identify a total of 14 barriers, which were then verified for greater relevance by the professional judgments of industrial personnel. Moreover, many removal measures strategies are also recommended in this study. Furthermore, this work also utilizes Gray Relational Analysis (GRA) to prioritize the identified GLSS barriers. Findings: The study reveals that training and education, continuous assessment of SDG, organizational culture, resources and skills to facilitate implementation, and assessment of satisfaction and welfare of the employee are the most significant barriers to implementing this approach. Research limitations/implications: The present study provides an impetus for practitioners and managers to embrace the GLSS strategy through a wide-ranging understanding and exploring these barriers. In this case, the outcomes of this research, and in particular the GRA technique presented by this work, can be used by managers and professionals to rank the GLSS barriers and take appropriate action to eliminate them. Practical implications: The ranking of GLSS barriers gives top officials of HEIs a very clear view to effectively and efficiently implementing GLSS initiatives. The outcomes also show training and education, sustainable development goals and organizational culture as critical barriers. The findings of this study provide an impetus for managers, policymakers and consultants to embrace the GLSS strategy through a wide-ranging understanding and exploring these barriers. Social implications: The GLSS barriers in HEIs may significantly affect the society. HEIs can lessen their environmental effect by using GLSS practices, which can support sustainability initiatives and foster social responsibility. Taking steps to reduce environmental effect can benefit society as a whole. GLSS techniques in HEIs can also result in increased operational effectiveness and cost savings, which can free up resources to be employed in other areas, like boosting student services and improving educational programs. However, failing to implement GLSS procedures in HEIs could have societal repercussions as well. As a result, it is critical for HEIs to identify and remove GLSS barriers in order to advance sustainability, social responsibility and operational effectiveness. Pediatric health inequities are pervasive. Approaches by health care institutions to address inequities often, and increasingly, focus on social needs screening without linked, robust responses. Even when actions in pursuit of health equity do occur within health care institutions, efforts occur in isolation from each other, standing in the way of cross-learning and innovation. Learning network methods hold promise when institutions are confronted with complex, multidimensional challenges. Equity-oriented learning networks may therefore accelerate action to address complex factors that contribute to inequitable pediatric health outcomes, enabling rapid learning along the way. We established an institutional Health Equity Network (HEN) in pursuit of excellent and equitable health outcomes for children and adolescents in our region. The HEN supports action teams seeking to eliminate pediatric health inequities in their clinical settings. Teams deploy targeted interventions to meet patients' and families' needs, addressing both medical and social factors affecting health and wellbeing. The primary, shared HEN measure is the equity gap in hospitalization rates between Black patients and all other patients. The HEN currently has 10 action teams and promotes rapid learning and scaling of interventions via monthly "action period calls" and "solutions labs" focused on successes, challenges, and potential common solutions (eg, scaling of existing medical-legal partnership to subspecialty clinics). Goal setting and grade loss aversion have individually been found to be effective motivators for student performance. We combine these two strategies to investigate, in a university setting, the effectiveness of grade endowment within a goal-setting framework. Our participants set grade goals which some must earn the traditional way, thus framed as 'gains', while others are awarded their target grade upfront, thus framed as 'losses'. We find a positive impact of goal setting on student performance. The research purpose to find out sustainable airport development in indonesia's border areas: challenges and future prospects. The construction of airports in Indonesia's border areas has a strategic role in supporting connectivity and economic development in border areas. This study uses survey methods and interviews from several respondents in the district of Anambas Islands, Riau Islands Province. Several findings related to the challenges and prospects of airport development in the border area have a positive impact on the community on the border, especially in the Riau Islands Where this area is almost 96% consisting of interview data which shows that 90% feel the benefits and 10% provide input for the next development, making the essence of the airport in the border area very much needed. However, the question is still how sustainable the airport development is. Whether it is completed with the operation of an airport or is it still being developed to continue to provide benefits to the community as the main target. The ability to analyze and take concrete and effective steps is needed in assembling all organizational goals and aligning with the vision and mission of the central government. This thesis discusses the proposed design of performance measurement for Perumda BPR XYZ using a sustainabilitybalanced scorecard approach so that company goals are achieved. With the sustainability balanced scorecard approach, it is hoped that financial and non-financial perspectives as well as sustainability aspects can be measured in balance both in the short and long term. The sustainability balanced scorecard and strategy map explain the relationship between sustainable financial and nonfinancial perspectives as well as strategic targets and initiatives that can be carried out by companies that are needed to achieve the strategic themes of each perspective. The types of data in this research are primary and secondary, with research instruments used in the form of literature reviews, document analysis and interviews. Background: Social innovation is often used as a mechanism to jump-start public–private partnerships to leverage resources to achieve social impact; the analysis of sustainability and the impact of corporate social responsibility (CSR) cannot be emphasized enough. Due to advances in the information and communication technology industry in Taiwan, this paper aims to explore whether these advancements drive CSR as a form of social innovation to meet health needs in Taiwan. Methodology: This paper uses a case study to look at CSR programs in the health sector in Taiwan. Corporations with diverse missions and different CSR approaches that are available on the internet are selected. The analysis of the case study takes a qualitative, exploratory approach to shed light on current initiatives. Results: The majority of CSR programs in Taiwan are private sector activities that emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic; current CSR activities in Taiwan are driven by awards, public relations, and external interests. Corporations in Taiwan have the potential to address the health care gaps of urban–rural health utilization among Taiwanese indigenous communities. It is recommended for corporations to (1) develop partnerships with public health experts or to (2) employ CSR personnel with health care backgrounds who can navigate the intersection between health, business, and policies to develop CSR strategies. Conclusions: Further evaluation of the projects mentioned in this paper to assess the direct and indirect impact on health outcomes could provide a more comprehensive understanding of the field of CSR in the health sector in Taiwan. There is a lack of consensus regarding the impact of personal factors, such as ethnicity, on job satisfaction in employees working in multi-ethnic teams. Globalization has led to an increase in the heterogeneity in team members' characteristics. Therefore, organizations are interested in identifying effective ways to manage such teams. Transformational leadership has been proven effective in managing teams to reach organizational goals. Accordingly, the present study aimed to examine the impact of ethnicity and other demographic characteristics on employees' job satisfaction and their perception of their manager as a transformational leader. The sample comprised 115 mid-level employees from three US-based multinational technology firms. Data were collected using a questionnaire that included the Leadership Practices Inventory, the Job Satisfaction Survey, and items on participants' demographic characteristics. Analysis included parametric or non-parametric statistics and correlations. Findings revealed a high job satisfaction level and a high tendency to perceive one's manager as a transformational leader. No significant differences were observed based on demographic characteristics, while job satisfaction and perception of the manager as a transformational leader were correlated positively. Background: Men's violence against women is a global health problem causing physical, mental, sexual and reproductive ill-health. The World Health Organisation has estimated that every third woman in the world has been exposed to physical and/or sexual violence. Swedish primary care is central for victims of violence, as it is normally the first port of call for seeking healthcare. This requires professional competence on violence, and its causes. It also requires resources for working with violence prevention, disclosure and supportive actions. The aim of this study is to deepen the understanding of how primary care professionals in Sweden deal with violence against women. We analyse their viewpoints, experiences and practices of working with violence as a health problem, and especially if, and if so how, they ask patients about violence. Methods: A qualitative, explorative research design was adopted. Research interviews were conducted with 18 health professionals at eight primary care clinics. These clinics were located in four different regions, from the south to the north, in large urban areas, middle-size cities and rural areas. The interviews were voice recorded and transcribed verbatim. Thematic analysis was used to analyse the interviews. Results: Three themes, with a total of ten related sub-themes, were developed. These themes are: (a) Varying understandings and explanations of violence against women; (b) The tricky question of asking about violence; and (c) Multiple suggestions for improving primary care's work with violence against women. The awareness of violence varied considerably, with some practitioners being highly knowledgeable and having integrated violence into their everyday practice, whereas others were less knowledgeable and had not paid much attention to violence. The very naming of violence seemed to be problematic. Several suggestions for improvements at professional, managerial and organisational levels were articulated. Conclusions: The results shed important light on the professionals' problems and struggles when dealing with violence against women in primary care. Better support and resources from the healthcare organisation, clearer leadership and more detailed policy would improve and facilitate everyday practice. Background: Early childhood caries (ECC) is a major global health issue affecting millions of children. Mitigating this problem requires up-to-date information from reliable surveillance systems. This enables evidence-based decision-making to devise oral health policies. The World Health Organization (WHO) advocates the adoption of mobile technologies in oral disease surveillance because of their efficiency and ease of application. The study describes developing an electronic, oral health surveillance system (EOHSS) for preschoolers in Egypt, using the District Health Information System (DHIS2) open-source platform along with its Android App, and assesses its feasibility in data acquisition. Methods: The DHIS2 Server was configured for the DHIS2 Tracker Android Capture App to allow individual-level data entry. The EOHSS indicators were selected in line with the WHO Action Plan 2030. Two modalities for the EOHSS were developed based on clinical data capture: face-to-face and tele/asynchronous. Eight dentists in the pilot team collected 214 events using modality-specific electronic devices. The pilot's team's feedback was obtained regarding the EOHSS's feasibility in collecting data, and a time-motion study was conducted to assess workflow over two weeks. Independent t-test and Statistical Process Control techniques were used for data analysis. Results: The pilot team reported positive feedback on the structure of the EOHSS. Workflow adaptations were made to prioritize surveillance tasks by collecting data from caregivers before acquiring clinical data from children to improve work efficiency. A shorter data capture time was required during face-to-face modality (4.2 ± 0.7 min) compared to telemodality (5.1 ± 0.9 min), p < 0.001). The acquisition of clinical data accounted for 16.9% and 21.1% of the time needed for both modalities, respectively. The time required by the face-to-face modality showed random variation, and the tele-modality tasks showed a reduced time trend to perform tasks. Conclusions: The DHIS2 provides a feasible solution for developing electronic, oral health surveillance systems. The one-minute difference in data capture time in telemodality compared to face-to-face indicates that despite being slightly more time-consuming, telemodality still shows promise for remote oral health assessments that is particularly valuable in areas with limited access to dental professionals, potentially expanding the reach of oral health screening programs. Professional associations provide resources to support members' career development and facilitate ways for members to engage with and learn from one another. This article describes Medical Library Association (MLA) activities related to the revision of professional competencies and the restructuring of the organization's communities during the past twenty-five years. Grounded in MLA's Platform for Change, the MLA competency statement underwent two revisions with core themes remaining consistent. Major efforts went into rethinking the structure of MLA communities, and it became a strategic goal of the association. Numerous groups spent considerable time guiding the changes in MLA's community structure. Sections and special interest groups were transformed into caucuses. Domain hubs were established to facilitate project coordination across caucuses and create more leadership opportunities for MLA members, but their implementation did not meet expectations. Member engagement and leadership are ongoing challenges for MLA. In the wake of the federal government's retrenchment from urban America in the 1970s and 1980s and the resulting rise in inequality, youth-serving, out-of-school time (OST) nonprofits took on a greater role in supporting urban public schools and students. Since then, many educational OST nonprofits have become enriching spaces for youth outside of traditional K–12 classrooms. Yet, their reliance on private philanthropic donations to function often complicates their goals. This article uses a critical, participatory, qualitative case study method to describe the experience of a youth-serving community-based education nonprofit organization in a Northeast city in the United States. In order to understand this nonprofit's role in the urban schooling community context, this article analyzes its aims and interrogates its barriers to success, using two theoretical perspectives: social reproduction and community cultural wealth. Qualitative analysis revealed that the organization is unmoored—unable to completely meet its own goals centered on community cultural wealth, because of limiting traditional conceptions of capital that reinforce and maintain unfair racialized power dynamics. In recent years, the adverse implications of organizational identification (OID) have received significant attention in the field of organizational behavior research, particularly as it is considered a critical factor in unethical pro-organizational behavior (UPB). Nevertheless, the findings of previous studies are inconsistent. To explain these discrepancies, we performed a meta-analysis of 54 independent studies from January 2010 to April 2023, comprising a total of 14,836 samples, to investigate the impact of OID on UPB and the moderating effects of cultural context. The results of our study demonstrated that individualism, power distance, masculinity, uncertainty avoidance, and indulgence play moderating roles in the OID – UPB relationship. Goal: Value-based care is not simply a matter of cost, but also one of outcomes and harms per dollar spent. This definition encompasses three key components: healthcare delivery that is organized around patients' medical conditions, costs and outcomes that are actively and consistently measured, and information technology that enables the other two components. Our objective in this project was to implement and measure a systemwide high-value, evidence-based care initiative with five pillars of high-value practices. Methods: We performed a quasi-experimental study from September 1, 2019, to August 31, 2022, of a new care program at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Drawing from the ABIM Foundation's Choosing Wisely Campaign, the program was based on five pillars-- blood management and antimicrobial, laboratory, imaging, and opioid stewardship--with interdisciplinary teams led by institutional subject matter experts (i.e., administrative leaders) accompanied by nursing, information technology, pharmacy, and clinical and nonclinical personnel including faculty and trainees. Each pillar addressed two goals with targeted interventions to assess improvements during the first three fiscal years (FYs) of implementation. The targets were set at 10% improvement by the end of each FY. Monthly measurements were recorded for each FY. Principal Findings: We tracked performance toward 30 pillar goals and determined that the teams were successful in 50%, 50%, and 70% of their goals for FY 2020, 2021, and 2022, respectively. For example, in the antimicrobial stewardship FY 2021 pillar, one goal was to decrease meropenem days of therapy (DOT) by 10% (baseline was 45 DOT/1,000 patient days; the target was 40.5 DOT/1,000 patient days). We measured quarterly DOT/1,000 patient day rates of 32.02, 30.57, and 26.9, respectively, for a cumulative rate of 26.9. Critical interventions included engaging and empowering providers and service lines (including outliers whose performance was outside norms), educational conferences, and transparent data analyses. Practical Applications: We showed that a multidisciplinary approach to the implementation of an evidence-based, high-value care program through a partnership of engaged administrative leaders, providers, and trainees can result in sustainable and measurable highvalue healthcare delivery. Specifically, structuring the program with pillars to address defined metrics resulted in progressive improvement in meeting value-based goals at the University of Texas Medical Branch. Also, challenges can be embraced as learning opportunities to inform value-based interventions that range from technological to educational tactics. The results at the University of Texas Medical Branch provide a benchmark for the implementation of a program that engages, empowers, and aligns innovative value-based care initiatives. Various district-level factors contribute to the successful implementation of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) in schools, a widely implemented evidence-based framework supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral development. Prior research has identified the district PBIS coordinator as a critical factor supporting school-level PBIS implementation. However, further research is needed to clarify the functions of the district PBIS coordinator role throughout the implementation process. This pilot study developed and validated a survey instrument to clarify (a) the common functions of the district PBIS coordinator role and (b) how the common functions of district PBIS coordinators changed across the distinct implementation stages. The Kruskal-Wallis H -test was used to determine whether significant differences existed in the amount of time district PBIS coordinators spent on functions of their role by implementation stage. Results from the pilot administration conducted in the U.S. state of Michigan indicated that district PBIS coordinators initially focused time on leadership and organization functions while competency functions developed as implementation matured. The survey findings offer preliminary insights into the district PBIS coordinator role, which may help inform professional development planning at the local and state levels, technical assistance offerings, and personnel decision-making. Background and Objectives: Patient experience narratives (narratives) are an increasingly important element of both measurement approaches and improvement efforts in healthcare. Prior studies show that narratives are considered by both clinicians and staff to be an appealing, meaningful, and credible form of evidence on performance. They also suggest that making concrete use of narratives within organizational settings to improve care can be complex and challenging. Our qualitative study was designed to explore how middle managers working in a health system’s outpatient clinics value and use written narratives in their day-to-day work. Methods: We conducted qualitative interviews with 20 middle managers working in 8 outpatient clinics. Interviews were fully transcribed, loaded into MAX-QDA software, and coded using thematic analysis techniques. Code reports were extracted and reanalyzed for subthemes related to the objectives of this paper. Results: Middle managers across sites described valuing narratives as a tool to: enable better patient experience assessment by augmenting data from patient experience scores; deepen understanding of and relationships with patients; provide insight about operational issues; identify areas for needed improvement and potential solutions; and facilitate strategic work. They reported using narratives for a range of activities related to their roles as supervisors, such as focusing attention on positive practices and needed improvements, promoting deeper group learning, motivating change, reinforcing sense of purpose for staff, recognizing staff strengths and training needs, and inspiring transformational thinking. Finally, interviewees reported numerous specific quality improvement projects (both short- and longer-term) that were informed by narratives-for example, by identifying an issue to be addressed or by suggesting a workable solution. Together, these interviews suggest a collective “narrative about narratives” woven by these organizational actors-a story which illustrates how narratives are highly relevant for how middle managers derive meaning from their work, put organizational values such as responsive service provision into practice, and enact their roles as supervisors. Conclusions: Our results add to the nascent literature a detailed description of how narratives can be used both as a tool for middle managers in their leadership and supervisory roles, and as a blueprint for improvement work within outpatient settings. They also illuminate why patient experience scores may improve when narrative data are collected and used. Finally, our results suggest that for middle managers, perhaps “nothing is more powerful than words” because narratives function as both an insight provider and a compelling tool that adds direction and meaning to workplace endeavors. Background and Objectives: The effectiveness of a quality management system consistent with the ISO 9001 standard depends on how quality objectives are established and pursued. The aims of this article are to identify quality objectives in selected certified organizations providing medical services, assess their compliance with the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard, and determine factors influencing such objectives. Methods: The first theoretical part of the article is based on a systematic literature review. The empirical part contains an analysis of documentation related to quality management systems and conducted audits. The data were collected during 42 quality management system audits conducted in 16 health care organizations in the years 2015-2020. Uncategorized interviews were conducted with quality management system representatives. The data were verified by interviews with 6 management system auditors having at least 15 years’ experience in auditing health care organizations. The assessment of the methodological correctness is based on the ISO 9001:2015 standard criteria. Results: The most frequently formulated quality objectives include improving customer satisfaction, task-based objectives related to planned works, improvements, and development of new medical services. The quality objectives fulfill the requirements of the ISO 9001 standard. However, they are not ambitious. The most significant factors influencing the processes of goal setting are economic (financial incentives, available resources for modernization), social (community needs), and managerial (the scope of performed analyses, the quality of the audit process, and the calculation of necessary effort). Conclusions: Health care organizations need to pursue more ambitious objectives, intensify the use of performed medical analyses, and integrate quality objectives into management remuneration systems. The HIV epidemics in Cambodia is concentrated in key populations (KPs). Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) has been officially approved in the country since 2019. However, its use may still be controversial after a PrEP clinical trial was interrupted in Cambodia after being deemed unethical in 2004. In this context, it was necessary to evaluate PrEP acceptability and administration preferences of KPs in Cambodia, with a view to increasing roll-out and uptake. We conducted a qualitative study in 2022 comprising six focus groups and four semi-structured individual interviews with transgender women, men who have sex with men, male entertainment workers, venue-based female entertainment workers (FEW), street-based FEW, and PrEP users who participated in a PrEP pilot study that started in 2019. Overall, KPs positively perceived PrEP, with some reservations. They preferred daily, community-based PrEP to event-driven, hospital-based PrEP, and highlighted that injectable PrEP would be a potential option if it became available in Cambodia. We recommend (i) proposing different PrEP regimens and PrEP delivery-models to broaden PrEP acceptability and adherence in Cambodia (ii) increasing the number of community-based organisations and improving the services they offer, (iii) rolling out injectable PrEP when it becomes officially available, and (iv) improving PrEP side effects information. This research examines the implementation of the Internal Control System (SPI) at the Aviation and Space Research Organization (ORPA) which is under the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The aim of this research is to evaluate the effectiveness of SPI in supporting the achievement of organizational goals and identify the obstacles faced in its implementation. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data was obtained through in-depth interviews and analysis of related documents. The research results show that the implemented SPI has helped in increasing the operational accountability and transparency of ORPA BRIN. However, there are still several obstacles, such as limited human resources and policy changes that affect SPI's performance. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that the implementation of SPI in ORPA BRIN is not optimal. This is caused by deficiencies in SPI elements, such as the control environment, risk assessment, and control activities. In the control environment element, there are deficiencies in the aspects of commitment to competence, human resource development policies, the role of effective Government Internal Oversight Apparatus (APIP), and working relationships with stakeholders. This research provides recommendations for ORPA BRIN to increase human resource capacity, strengthen commitment to competence, and build close collaboration with APIP and stakeholders to support more effective implementation of SPI. From July 2019 through April 2021, the Latino Center for Health, a bicultural population health research center at the University of Washington, partnered with community stakeholders to generate evidence to inform elected officials about the need to increase the diversity of the state's physician workforce and ultimately improve Latina/o health in Washington state. Legislative efforts resulted in legislation creating goals for the state's medical schools to admit students representative of the state's population diversity and the creation of a new residency pathway for international medical graduates.
