Public libraries with multilingual communities should provide adequate access to multilingual resources to meet the needs of community members. Few previous studies have addressed online access to multilingual collections of public libraries that serve multilingual communities. This article highlights challenges in supporting multilingual users on public library websites that have multilingual users by asking what factors are involved, how the problems will eventually be solved, and what features will be needed in website design and indexing to enhance multilingual support. Anaemia is an important global health issue with various factors responsible for its occurrence. Though nutritional deficiency is one of the main causes of the disease, evidence suggests a potential link between long-term exposure to ambient air pollution and an increased risk of developing anaemia. Our scoping review evaluates studies conducted across the world to examine possible associations between anaemia and ambient air pollution. Six databases were searched, 153 sources were identified, and 21 articles were included in the review. Apart from one article which showed no significant effect, studies reported positive associations between anaemia and air pollution. This was true for both indoor and outdoor air pollution, various types of particulate matter exposure, and across demographic groups. The review highlights the importance of recognizing exposure to air pollution as a potential risk factor for anaemia and emphasizes the imperative for focused interventions and policy measures to mitigate air pollution. Reproducible laboratory research relies on correctly identified reagents. We have previously described gene research papers with wrongly identified nucleotide sequence(s), including papers studying miR‐145. Manually verifying reagent identities in 36 recent miR‐145 papers found that 56% and 17% of papers described misidentified nucleotide sequences and cell lines, respectively. We also found 5 cell line identifiers in miR‐145 papers with misidentified nucleotide sequences and cell lines, and 18 cell line identifiers published elsewhere, that did not represent indexed human cell lines. These 23 identifiers were described as non‐verifiable (NV), as their identities were unclear. Studying 420 papers that mentioned 8 NV identifier(s) found 235 papers (56%) that referred to 7 identifiers (BGC‐803, BSG‐803, BSG‐823, GSE‐1, HGC‐7901, HGC‐803, and MGC‐823) as independent cell lines. We could not find any publications describing how these cell lines were established. Six cell lines were sourced from cell line repositories with externally accessible online catalogs, but these cell lines were not indexed as claimed. Some papers also stated that short tandem repeat (STR) profiles had been generated for three cell lines, yet no STR profiles could be identified. The Pacific Islands region is home to several of the world's biodiversity hotspots, yet its unique flora and fauna are under threat because of biological invasions. These invasions are likely to proliferate as human activity increases and large‐scale natural disturbances unfold, exacerbated by climate change. Remote sensing data and techniques provide a feasible method to map and monitor invasive plant species and inform invasive plant species management across the Pacific Islands region. We used case studies taken from literature retrieved from Google Scholar, 3 regional agencies’ digital libraries, and 2 online catalogs on invasive plant species management to examine the uptake and challenges faced in the implementation of remote sensing technology in the Pacific region. We synthesized remote sensing techniques and outlined their potential to detect and map invasive plant species based on species phenology, structural characteristics, and image texture algorithms. The application of remote sensing methods to detect invasive plant species was heavily reliant on species ecology, extent of invasion, and available geospatial and remotely sensed image data. However, current mechanisms that support invasive plant species management, including policy frameworks and geospatial data infrastructure, operated in isolation, leading to duplication of efforts and creating unsustainable solutions for the region. For remote sensing to support invasive plant species management in the region, key stakeholders including conservation managers, researchers, and practitioners; funding agencies; and regional organizations must invest, where possible, in the broader geospatial and environmental sector, integrate, and streamline policies and improve capacity and technology access. The growing number of literary works being produced and published has emphasised the importance of better cataloguing methods to handle the increasing volume effectively. One specific issue is the lack of organising works by time periods, which is crucial for understanding and organising literature. In this study, "time" refers to when the story's events occur or the narrative's temporal setting, like specific historical periods or events, rather than the publication date. Categorising literary works based on their historical settings can significantly improve accessibility for library patrons navigating online catalogues. However, time period categorisation is uncommon, primarily due to the resource-intensive nature of the process, which necessitates extensive analysis by librarians and cataloguers. To address this issue, this paper proposes evaluating different machine learning workflows to predict time periods for novels. The workflow comprises preprocessing, feature engineering, classification, and evaluation. The feature engineering techniques used are Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), Word Embedding with Sentence-BERT (WE SBERT), and Term Frequency-Inverse Document Frequency (TFIDF), and the classification algorithm used is Logistic Regression. The models are assessed using the F1 score, precision, and recall metrics. The time period categories used are Medieval, Era of Great Power, Age of Liberty, and Gustavian periods. The objective is to determine how effectively each model categorises Swedish historical fiction novels into their appropriate time period categories. By leveraging machine learning techniques, the research seeks to supplement the time period categorisation process, aiding cataloguers and ultimately enhancing the accessibility and usability of library collections. Objective: The library, once a silent repository of knowledge, is undergoing a digital metamorphosis. At the heart of this transformation is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). Traditionally, cataloging and classifying books was a meticulous, labor-intensive task requiring deep subject knowledge and adherence to complex classification systems. However, the advent of AI is revolutionizing this process, promising greater efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility. This research presents a pilot study on the potential use of AI for semi-automatic subject indexing, cataloging, and classification of books. Materials and Methods: To collect the data, first we searched for open access books in the Directory of Open Access Books and OAPEN (Online library of open access books). Four books in English were chosen for the current study. The book titles were searched in the Library of Congress Online Catalog to discover the subject headings, the Library of Congress Classification number and the Dewey Decimal Classification number assigned to each book, collecting the necessary information. Third, we searched for each book in ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini, using necessary prompts to collect the data. Results: The results indicate that the degree of cataloging and classification consistency is low. The cataloging and classification consistency are seen as the measure of the similarity of reaction of different machines and human beings processing the same book. Conclusion: By automating routine tasks, improving classification and cataloging accuracy, and enhancing metadata creation, AI is transforming the way libraries organize and share knowledge. In this paper, we analyze the physical layer security (PLS) performance of nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA)‐enabled overlay cognitive radio networks (NOMA‐OCRNs) in the presence of an external passive eavesdropper. Here PLS is expressed in terms of the secrecy outage probabilities (SOPs) experienced by the primary user (PU) and secondary user (SU). We obtain approximate expressions for the SOPs of both PU as well as SU assuming a jamming‐free environment, where both primary and secondary destination nodes are half‐duplex devices. To improve the SOP performance, we propose a jamming‐assisted framework, where full‐duplex destination nodes are employed, which are capable of transmitting jamming signals to confound the eavesdropper. Approximate expressions for the SOPs of PU and SU are derived for the jamming‐assisted framework as well. It is demonstrated that the proposed jamming‐assisted framework significantly reduces the SOPs compared to the jamming‐free scenario. We also determine optimal power allocation coefficients (OPACs) for PU and SU at the secondary transmitter that maximizes the total secrecy throughput of the jamming‐assisted NOMA‐OCRN with FD destinations. We examine a large transaction-level data set of an Italian omnichannel furniture retailer to study channel-specific effects of fulfillment lead time on demand. This omnichannel retailer sells the same products and has the same product fulfillment across three channels: showroom, online, and catalog. The showroom channel carries no inventory but allows customers to touch and feel the products. The online channel provides a website for consumers to browse and order the products. The catalog channel sends a product catalog to all the households in Italy, so they can place an order over the phone. We find that the showroom channel makes consumers less sensitive to fulfillment lead time than both online and catalog channels. In particular, a 10% increase in lead time (1.83 days from the sample mean of 18.26 days) causes a 0.29% reduction in the daily sales volume (approximately 29 units from the sample mean of 10,140 units per day) at the showroom, which is less than the reduction of 1.85% and 0.92% in the online and the catalog channels, respectively. This finding contradicts the common practical and theoretical assumption about homogeneous lead time sensitivity across channels. In addition, we find that niche products and experience goods accentuate the difference of lead time sensitivity between showroom and nonphysical channels. Through an online experiment, we show that higher product information precision, such as that provided in a showroom, can alleviate customers' anxiety around product uncertainty, thus reducing lead time sensitivity and increasing purchase intent. We further build two analytical models to show the implications of our empirical results for showroom network design and inventory rationing decisions. The online public access catalog (OPAC) is a digital portal to the library's collection that allows users to search, locate, and access a wide range of academic resources. One of its key functions is to make books and other library materials easily accessible and retrievable. The main purpose of this study was to assess students' awareness and use of the OPAC in the Central Luzon State University Library. The data were gathered using a survey questionnaire. The frequency, percentage, and weighted mean were analyzed, and the data was interpreted. The findings show that students widely use OPAC, though not all of them are aware of all of the functions that OPAC provides. Findings also indicate that a lack of proper orientation and a lack of OPAC terminals are the main reasons for not using the OPAC. The vast majority of students were satisfied with the OPAC. However, a small percentage of students remain dissatisfied with it. This insight is essential for libraries to better alter and tailor their systems, services, and instructional programs to suit their student population's evolving needs and technological expectations. This essay analyses the pitfalls of auction catalogs' descriptions of fragments and cuttings. Through an in-depth examination of a cutting sold through Sotheby's in 2009, the author deconstructs the way in which such fragments are attributed to well-known scribes or illuminators. The cutting was initially ascribed to the so-called Murano Master, but an investigation of the style and artistic features of the fragment challenges this assumption. As libraries, archives, and museums make unique digital collections openly available via digital library platforms, they expose these resources to users who may wish to cite them. Often several URLs are available for a single digital object, depending on which route a user took to find it, but the chosen citation URL should be the one most likely to persist over time. Catalyzed by recent digital collections migration initiatives at Indiana University Libraries, this study investigates the prevalence of persistent URLs for digital objects at peer institutions and examines the ways their platforms instruct users to cite them. This study reviewed institutional websites from the Digital Library Federation's (DLF) published list of 195 members and identified representative digital objects from unique digital collections navigable from each institution's main web page in order to determine persistent URL formats and citation options. Findings indicate an equal split between offering and not offering discernible persistent URLs with four major methods used: Handle, DOI, ARK, and PURL. Significant variation in labeling persistent URLs and inclusion in item-specific citations uncovered areas where the user experience could be improved for more reliable citation of these unique resources. Across all libraries in Bhutan, the development of infrastructures, collections, and professional capacity has been partially neglected resulting in a lack of well-provisioned and responsive services. The advent of modern libraries in Bhutan is relatively new, thus limiting its contribution to achieving the goals of respective parent organizations, in turn, the national goals. This study examined the roles of Bhutanese libraries and librarians, library collaboration mechanisms, challenges and opportunities. Convenience sampling was adopted for this study, and we used a structured online survey questionnaire for data collection from 180 librarians across the country. The results revealed that the main roles of libraries were providing access to information and services, managing resources and supporting learning. Collection developments have evolved from a few scripture collections to scholarly journals and e-resources. Bhutanese library management systems advanced from basic arrangements to card catalogs to Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC). Currently, libraries are transitioning toward web-based integrated library systems using Koha, particularly in academic libraries. Most of the libraries are operated by Library Assistants without prior training or library-related academic qualifications. Administrative assistant, housemaster and examination committee member roles were assigned as ancillary roles for librarians. As a result, for some, the main library role became obsolete. Inter-library collaborations are limited, and professional experiences and best practices are rarely shared. Lack of professional development and funding are the key challenges. This study also demonstrated the need for a national strategic library development plan that prioritizes investment in ICT-based infrastructure, services, and digital resources for netizens. Studies carried out in Europe are of great importance in terms of the history of the Book of Dede Korkut studies. The present study is based on the analytical evaluation of studies conducted in Europe on the Book of Dede Korkut and in foreign languages spoken in Europe. For the list of academic studies in this article, previous bibliographic studies, European and USA-centered databases/online catalogs were utilized. The bibliographic list obtained was classified as "translations" and "selected other works". This study, which has a descriptive character in terms of presenting a bibliographic list on the Book of Dede Korkut, can also be accepted as an analytical review in terms of a holistic evaluation of the studies in question. The present study, which aims to bring the studies on the Book of Dede Korkut in foreign languages to the attention of scholars who read and write in Turkish, to determine the general tendencies of the Dede Korkut researches in Europe and to make a general evaluation based on these determinations, has the purpose of contributing to the corpus of the Book of Dede Korkut researches. The JAXA Astromaterials Science Research Group developed a web-based database system for the Hayabusa2-returned samples from C-type asteroid Ryugu. The Ryugu Sample Database System database (RS-DBS) is designed as an online catalog for users of wide scientific communities to choose their preferred samples and propose the sample loan through the JAXA Ryugu Sample Announcement of Opportunity. Ryugu samples can be sorted and given identification numbers as individual particles larger than 1 mm and aggregate samples consisting of less than 1 mm particle through the Phase1 curation (i.e., the initial description). The RS-DBS lists all samples with analytical data such as a microscopy image, size, mass, spectroscopic data, and shape model obtained by the initial description at the JAXA curation facility. The list also includes research results conducted by previous projects (i.e., the Hayabusa2 initial analysis team and Phase2 curation teams). The RS-DBS, built with open-source technologies, archives the data securely and long-term on the Data Archives and Transmission System (DARTS) at ISAS/JAXA. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The influence of Internet marketing has grown so much that producers must now reconfigure their businesses from offline operation to online presence simply to meet user expectations. Thus, the development of an intelligent information system for product promotion online is quite relevant. It may lead to automatized selection of competing products and advertising content, a subsequent increase in the effectiveness of advertisements, and a decrease in costs for Internet ad placements. The paper presents the approach for creating an intelligent information system for product promotion in online spaces that makes it possible to reduce advertising costs. A methodology is based on outcomes of own previous studies as well as the flow nature and semantics of data streams. The framework of the proposed intelligent system includes the four key procedures and functions: intelligent formation of keywords for advertising content based on feedback, intelligent formation of product catalogs of online stores, generation of advertising content, and generation of improved advertising content and its targeting generation of text based on keywords. In 2019, the Goldey-Beacom College library served its first 100% blind student. To become more familiar with accessibility efforts at other colleges and universities, the authors compiled a brief literature review that discusses state statutes for accessibility, university policies on accessibility, and librarians' audits on web accessibility and vendor supplied databases. To determine the accessibility of the library's subscribed tools and services, the director of the office of institutional research & training and the director of the library, archives, and learning center used the WAVE online accessibility checker to audit the main library electronic resources: Gale Power Search, ProQuest, Yewno, EBSCO, LibGuides, SpringShare A–Z Database List, JSTOR, Adam Matthew, SAGE Research Methods, and Encyclopedia Britannica. The terminology found in one of the oldest Latin catalogs of heresies, Diversarum hereseon liber, written by Philastrius, bishop of Brescia (330-387/388), was adapted to the needs of anti-heretical polemics, and at the same time reflected the way of talking about Christ's earthly mission, characteristic of the Latin patristic literature of the second half of the 4th century. A detailed philological and theological analysis of Philastrius's treatise led to the following conclusions: (1) The terminology used by the author was rooted in the early Christian tradition (caro, corpus, incarnatio, incorporatio), but also original through the use of his own formula praesentia carnalis; (2) The vocabulary used in the catalog was strictly dependent on the subject of the doctrinal dispute. In polemics with docetistic heresies, Philastrius used the term caro more often than corpus, describing the body and, indirectly, the entire human nature of Christ. In the discussion with heresies that did not directly address the subject of the body of Christ, and also when presenting the orthodox teaching of the Church on the Incarnation of the Son of God, he used the term incorporatio more often than incarnatio; (3) The favorite phrase used by the Bishop of Brescia to describe the Incarnation was praesentia carnalis Christi. With it, Philastrius emphasized several important aspects of the theology of the Incarnation: the real corporeality of the person of Christ; the presence of the Son of God among people and its salvific purpose; a long process of revealing God to man, related to the Old Testament prophecies, the fulfillment of which was the coming of the Savior to earth. Objective: Specialized technical skills alone in the field of library and information management are not sufficient, and information specialists who demonstrate a combination of hard and soft skills are preferred by employers in the present era, as they possess a clear competitive advantage. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the current status of core skills among university librarians in Kermanshah province from the perspective of librarians working in these universities. Methods: The present research is applied in nature and conducted using a survey method. The statistical population of this study consists of all university librarians in Kermanshah province (58 individuals). The research was carried out through a census, and 51 completed questionnaires were returned. The Sanders questionnaire (2019) was used to collect research data. To test the reliability of the questionnaire, Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used, and the obtained alpha value was 0.81, indicating the desirable reliability coefficient for the questionnaire items. The collected data were analyzed using Friedman test and frequency distribution. Results: According to the Friedman test, the selected skills have a significant difference in mean, with the highest priority being HR/personnel management. Frequency distribution was used to answer other questions. The findings showed that 23 skills are needed by all graduates according to librarians, 21 skills are often needed by librarians, 3 skills are needed by some librarians, and 9 skills are needed by managers based on their frequency. Conclusions: The study showed that according to librarians in Kermanshah province's university libraries, the highest priority is human resource/personnel management, which is one of the managerial components. This means that librarians value the soft skills of their managers and consider it essential for managers to manage librarians in the best possible way and hire capable personnel. Interpersonal communication skills, customer service skills, search skills (ability to search databases, internet resources, and catalogs efficiently and effectively), evaluating and selecting information resources, teamwork, reader's advisory, interacting with diverse communities and knowledge of professional ethics are among the other important skills considered in terms of librarians' needs. This means that all graduates must be familiar with these skills regardless of their future career path. Since according to librarians, soft skills are necessary for all graduates of the library and information science field, it seems that updating the curriculum of this field should focus on offering courses that teach these skills, and efforts should be made to teach soft skills to students through education. Also, two communication skills, interpersonal communication and customer service, which are the most important skills, are among the communication components. This also indicates the importance of communication skills for graduates. Soft skills are as important as hard skills, and students should try to learn soft skills regardless of their future career path to achieve success for themselves and their organization. Linked Open Data (LOD) are a set of principles for publishing structured, connected data available for reuse under an open license. The objective of this paper is to analyze the publishing of bibliographic data such as LOD, having as a product the elaboration of theoretical-methodological recommendations for the publication of these data, in an approach based on the ten best practices for publishing LOD, from the World Wide Web Consortium. The starting point was the conduction of a Systematic Review of Literature, where initiatives to publish bibliographic data such as LOD were identified. An empirical study of these institutions was also conducted. As a result, theoretical-methodological recommendations were obtained for the process of publishing bibliographic data such as LOD. This article summarizes the work done as part of a project to improve subject description of an LGBTQ + collection in the ONE Archives, part of the University of Southern California (USC) Libraries. The project involved adding local subject headings to augment existing Library of Congress Subject Headings. This study examines users' needs for bibliographic enhancement data (BIBED) in academic library catalogs. Qualitative data were collected through 30 academic users' activity logs and follow-up interviews. These 30 participants were recruited from a public university in the United States that has over 19,000 students enrolled and over 600 full-time faculty members. This study identified 19 types of BIBED useful for supporting the five user tasks proposed in the IFLA Library Reference Model and in seven other contexts, such as enhancing one's understanding, offering search instructions, and providing readers' advisory. Findings suggest that adopting BIBFRAME and Semantic Web technologies may enable academic library catalogs to provide BIBED to better meet user needs in various contexts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Three fields in the outskirts of the Small Magellanic Cloud were observed by the UltraViolet Imaging Telescope (UVIT) on board AstroSat, between 2017 December 31 and 2018 January 1. The observations were carried out on a total of seven filters, three in the far-ultraviolet (FUV; 1300–1800 Å) band and four in the near-ultraviolet (NUV; 2000–3000 Å) band. We carried out photometry of these observations that have a spatial resolution better than 1.″5. We present here the first results of this work, which is a matched catalog of 11,241 sources detected in three FUV and four NUV wavelengths. We make the catalog available online, which would be of use to the astronomical community to address a wide variety of astrophysical problems. This article contemplates how cataloguing ethics might be taught within knowledge organization (KO). This exploration of cataloguing education considers the teaching of cataloguing ethics within an example Library and Information Studies programme. The first part focuses on how cataloguing ethics fits into the structure of KO teaching, including questions about whether it is a standalone topic or an integral part of the whole curriculum. The second part outlines three example activities with cataloguing ethics contents. Six pedagogical points are elicited, including ideas around the power held by the cataloguer, the relationship of cataloguing ethics to the wider library ecosystem and beyond, and the competing needs of library user/librarian/knowledge creator. Purpose: The purpose of this task is to identify both internal and external s trategic factors for organizing book and non-book resources and to provide appropriate s trategies based on the findings. Method: The research method was document s tudy and survey. The research community included 10 experts from within the organization for brains torming sessions and 40 experts from inside and outside the organization were purposefully selected to complete the ques tionnaire because of their experience and expertise. Data was collected through document-library s tudy, brains torming sessions, and researcher-made ques tionnaires and the data was examined with the help of a SWOT matrix. Findings: The total score of internal factors was 3.5128 and external factors was 3.3886. The s trengths of the book and non-book resource organization emphasize s tandardization and development of new organization tools for increasing quality and technological approach. Lack of attention to research achievements, technological limitations, quality challenges S tandardization, and human resource problems are significant weaknesses. The governance position of the organization, access to up-to-date organizational tools, access to academic and organizational learning, legal deposit law, ease of use and user-friendliness of Rasa software; interaction and participation of users and beneficiaries of the organization are the mos t important opportunities. Budget, facilities, and technological Limitations, barriers to educational development, Poor users participating in organizing; the lack of an integrated s trategy, issues and problems of experts' jobs, and ignoring the importance of organizing by senior management are the mos t important threats as part of our efforts to improve our services, we work closely with publishers and managers to implement new frameworks and formats. We also focus on organizing new types of resource formats and collaborating with scientific and research ins titutions. Additionally, we are developing tools and requirements for publishing bibliographic data in the semantic web, compiling ontologies, and migrating data to the linked data format. We continuously work on refining bibliographic data and Authority databases in Rasa software, and we give users the opportunity to participate in editing and correcting cataloging records. We have developed quality control guidelines and s trengthened our National Organization Council and specialized committees. We aim to improve our governance position in the field of organization and continuously provide up-to-date training and development opportunities for our experts. We attend specialized conferences and events and pay close attention to human resources and working conditions. These are the important s trategies we have proposed to improve our services even more. Conclusion: Updating and improving methods of organization and tools to increase the dissemination and accessibility of data in the semantic web by creating linked data and developing ontologies, creating technology-related facilities and platforms for user participation and social organization, interaction with s takeholders such as users, scientific and specialized ins titutions, universities, etc. To synergize and share knowledge and facilities will develop the organization of the book and non-book resources. Development of expert training and conducting applied research and improving management will also increase the quality of this field. Finally, revitalizing and s trengthening the National Organizing Council is an important s trategy that can have an impact on the organizing in the organization and at the country level, with the NLAI as its center. This study compares library web usability practices in 2007 and 2020 at academic libraries that are institutional members of the Association of Research Libraries. The authors performed chi-square and t-tests to determine whether there were differences in establishing policies/standards/guidelines (PSGs), conducting usability tests, and providing resources between samples of libraries from both years. There was no statistically significant difference between the number of libraries with and without PSGs in both samples. In 2020, the level of perceived importance of usability testing significantly decreased, and the resources needed for web usability initiatives doubled. The variability of 27 autosomal STR loci of the ForenSeq DNA Signature Prep Kit (Illumina) commercial panel was studied using the technique of massively parallel sequencing (MPS) in 733 unrelated individuals representing the population of the Republic of Belarus, as well as a population base of MPS allele frequencies for forensic probabilistic calculations in human identification and paternity testing was evaluated. The agreement between genotypes obtained by MPS and capillary electrophoresis (CE) was 99.96%. The number of MPS alleles increased more than two times for eight loci (D12S391, D21S11, D2S1338, vWA, D3S1358, D8S1179, D13S317, and D9S1122). Thirteen alleles detected were not included in the STRSeq BioProject catalog of the international online database STRbase 2.0. The random match probability of 27-locus MPS profiles decreased from 1.43 × 10–31 to 2.89 × 10–35, and the combined paternity index increased from 2.08 × 1010 to 3.25 × 1012 compared to CE data. Characteristic features of the Baikal natural territory (BNT) are analyzed and the problems of forest monitoring are highlighted. An approach is proposed for the digital transformation of forest resource monitoring using a service-oriented paradigm, an infrastructure approach, and declarative specifications, as well as end-to-end and Web technologies for collecting and processing large amounts of spatiotemporal data. A scheme of a digital forest monitoring platform based on an information–analytical geoportal environment is described, including a system for processing and storing spatiotemporal data and a catalog of basic and thematic services for assessing the consequences of natural and anthropogenic impacts on forests of the BNT. The experience of using deep learning methods to monitor changes in the state of forests is presented. An automated determination of land cover types is carried out on the basis of Sentinel-2 images. The composition of classes of the training data set created for the BNT is described. The result of satellite image classification with the identified land cover classes is given. As with any shared format for serializing data, Primo's PNX records have limits on the types of data which they pass along from the source records and into the Primo tool. As a result of these limitations, PNX records do not currently have a provision for harvesting and transferring rights information about HathiTrust holdings that the Kansas State University (KSU) Library system indexes through Primo. This created a problem, since Primo was defaulting to indicate that all HathiTrust materials were available to KSU Libraries (K-State Libraries) patrons, when only a limited portion of them actually were. This disconnect was infuriating some library users, and creating difficulties for the public services librarians. There was a library-wide discussion about removing HathiTrust holdings from Primo altogether, but it was decided that such a solution was an overreaction. This article discusses the significance of Gilles Deleuze's almost passing references to East Asian thought. Even though Deleuze comes to these ideas through the work of other European thinkers—most notably Friedrich Nietzsche, Sergei Eisenstein, François Jullien, and Alan Watts—the article argues that there are ultimately deep resonances between Deleuze's philosophy, especially in its Bergso‐Leibnizian articulations, and specific East Asian ideas. The article begins by cataloging and commenting upon Deleuze's various references to Chinese and Japanese thought generally before discussing how one particular concept—that of the gap (écart)—not only lies at the heart of his metaphysics but also forms the very basis for developing an adequate methodology for negotiating his encounter with East Asia. Finally, by also considering some of Jullien's recent ideas, the article examines the ways in which this methodology of the gap may be more adequate than other attempts to characterize contemporary comparative philosophy. Nowadays, physicochemical methods of analysis are used in medical diagnostics. One can identify metabolites characteristic of a particular disease. The compilation of a metabolic profile will facilitate the diagnosis of diseases, evaluate their stage and etiology, and predict treatment. The goal of the study is to analyze the metabolite composition of the ear-nose-throat (ENT) tissues by high-resolution THz spectroscopy based on nonstationary effects and compare metabolites formed during the thermal decomposition of relatively healthy mucosa, polyps, and cysts. Studies were performed with the spectrometers operating from 118 to 178 GHz. The chemical compounds were identified using online catalogs. In all samples, there are such substances as methanol, propanediol, acetaldehyde, acetonitrile, butyronitrile, methyl mercaptan, azole, ethylene sulfide, carbon sulfide, and sulfur dioxide. In the spectrum of relatively healthy mucosa, the number of absorption lines of these substances is much less than in the spectrum of the polyps and cysts, which indicates their lower concentration. In the products of the polyps and cysts, acetone, hydroxyacetone, dihydroxyacetone, propionitrile, acrylonitrile, aminopropionitrile, hydroxyacetonitrile, aminoacetonitrile, methylbutironitrile, propanal, glycolaldehyde, lactaldehyde, and malone dialdehyde appear. The products of cysts' thermal decomposition also contain acetic and acrylic acids. High-resolution THz spectroscopy has been shown to be promising for detecting disease metabolites in ENT tissues. Internodal archaeological research requires a change in the scales and perspectives considered, in order to propose an approach tending to overcome the arbitrary (and self-imposed) limits of territorial scope in investigations. Data generated both in the micro region of Antofagasta de la Sierra and in the High Valleys of Catamarca, indicate links and relations that endured in time between these and other surrounding regions. In this sense, here we propose the use of Google Earth Engine (GEE) as an analytical tool for the generation of information, providing novel data regarding the proposed research topic, such as those linked to the availability of water and pastures. The use of this innovative tool is based in the remote processing and analysis of large catalogues of satellite images, constantly updated, which enables a more dynamic and attuned insight to the processes that we are seeking to understand. This paper presents the importance of an e-learning platform, namely e-PG Pathshala, as a gateway for all the courses in different disciplines at the postgraduate level. e-PG Pathshala is an open courseware initiative of the UGC INFLIBNET Centre that started as an MHRD project, titled "National Mission on Education by Way of ICT" (NME-ICT) in India. The e-PG Pathshala project provided 25169 e-content modules in different subjects. The key components of educational systems are quality of content. This paper intends to examine academic library services and facilities for university students at the tertiary level in Punjab. It has been observed that all educational institutions specifically higher education has an academic library to facilitate the students in terms of their academic activities and research-oriented tasks. This study has been conducted to measure the response of library patrons of two Public Sector Universities in Punjab, Pakistan. The unit of analysis has been based on the enrolled students of the University of Gujrat, Gujrat, and Government College University Faisalabad, Faisalabad, Pakistan. A sample of 16 students (8 students from each university and half male and female student ratio) has been selected using a purposive sampling technique. An interview guide has been developed and a case study method has been used to conduct in-depth interviews of the library Patrons. It is worth stating that researchers conducted interviews in the academic library of the relevant universities' main campus. Data analysis has been done with reference thematic analysis technique. The study finding asserted that library patrons reported that research support services and internet facilities had been provided by the library administration. Similarly, the study findings revealed that a silent zone of study, printing, and photocopy facility had been provided to support academic activities at the university. Likewise, the study results indicated that an online public access catalog, reference and periodical section, and open reading area had also been provided by the library staff to the library patron for the smooth running of research activities.
