The kinetics of the reaction of ozone with titanium dioxide is studied. The structure and optical characteristics of nanostructured thin layers of titanium dioxide (TiO2) treated with an ozone-oxygen mixture with various ozone concentrations were studied by optical and infrared spectroscopy. It was shown that ozone treatment increases the adsorption of ruthenium dye (N719) in the bulk of the TiO2 layer nano-structured. Ozone-treated TiO2 layers were used as photoelectrodes for the design of sensitized solar cells (SCs). A study of the photovoltaic parameters of sensitized SCs under standard illumination (spectrum AM1.5G, illumination level 1000 W/m2) shows that modification of TiO2 with ozone leads to an increase in the solar power conversion efficiency from 7.5 to 8.2%.

Purpose of research. The purpose of this article is to implement applied social indicators as the means of research, collection and processing of statistical and practical information. The article analyzes the guidelines and measures of the real effectiveness of state regulation and economic transformations that determine the prospects for implementing demographic policy on the example of the Krasnodar territory.The search for constructive solutions to the accumulated social problems of “saving the nation” is the subject of the most active and close attention of society, while social guidelines and indicators of the functioning of the economy remain unobvious, outdated, or even completely harmful, as, for example, the usual indicators of the SNA.For more than a quarter of a century, it has been known fr om a World Bank study conducted on the example of 192 countries of the modern world that 64% of economic growth is provided by human and social capital. It is also obvious that the quality of human resources is becoming the main factor for ensuring a competitive economy. Only with regard to demographic factors and structural characteristics of the demographic potential, the harmonization of the economic growth model with the solution of socio-demographic problems, it is possible to modernize the economy. Meanwhile, according to most experts, including the Institute of Socio-Economic Studies of Population of Russian Academy of Sciences, at least another ten years, population of Russia will decrease and in parallel, to worsen the situation with people's health.Materials and methods. Methodological conclusions and fundamental principles of modern economic science, including institutional economics, demography, social modernization, adaptation, and social market economy, are used instrumentally in this work.The information is based on analytical materials and official statistical data of institutions and departments of the Russian Federation, international economic organizations, expert assessments and periodical press data. The research is based on the socio-economic processes of the last decade in the Krasnodar territory, where frightening indicators of natural population growth have been recorded in recent years.Results. Generalizations and conclusions are important for the development of the economic program to overcome the socio-economic crisis, economic policy, and the choice of priority directions for the development of national and regional economy. The results obtained can serve as a further development of research on the use of an institutional approach to the analysis of economic transformations and problems of state regulation of the social sphere.Conclusions. The study analyzes the demographic state of the Krasnodar territory and lists the main weaknesses and reasons for the current demographic policy of the region. The study reveals the dependence of the consolidated budget of the region on the gross regional product and the average annual population, and provides recommendations for preserving and increasing the population of the Krasnodar territory.

Bronchial asthma (BA) is a global issue of public health care that is connected with a stable tendency to sickness rate growth. In Russia, mortality rate from BA exacerbation is one of the highest in the world. The most severe attack of BA is considered as asthmatic status (AS) and needs resuscitation measures. Despite the fact that death from BA occurs as a result of acute severe attack (often asthmatic status), it is almost always the consequence of previous incorrect treatment or the absence of proper medical care and observation. The paper presents a clinical case of asthmatic status in a twelve-year old child, which was complicated by spontaneous pneumothorax. The cause of the development of threatening status in a child with bronchial asthma was the absence of basic anti-inflammatory therapy and proper medical observation. The absence of rational therapy and regular observation, rendered to BA patient by a physician of primary care link with training of self-control and self-observation habits, can cause the development of the most severe exacerbation asthmatic status. A timely hospitalization of AS patients to resuscitation and intensive care unit according to indications will promote faster transfer to pediatric department.

Comorbidity of obstructive sleep apnea / hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is defined as overlap syndrome and is a state of mutual aggravation characterized by an accelerated development of pulmonary hypertension and chronic respiratory failure, as well as a high risk of sudden death in sleep. At the same time, obesity is one of the most significant and independent risk factors for the development of OSAHS. The aim of the study was to identify the role of the leptin receptor gene LEPR single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) Q223R (rs1137101) in the development of overlap syndrome. A total of 134 people (73,1% of men and 26,9% of women) aged 60 [53; 65] years were examined, 66 of them with OSAHS, 30 patients with a diagnosis of COPD, and 38 with comorbidity of both forms of pathology. It was shown that the carriage of both the polymorphic G allele and the GG genotype is not a risk factor for the development of OSAHS in patients with COPD (p = 0,92) and does not correlate with the severity of both nosologies, but is statistically significantly associated with the formation of obesity 2 degrees (p < 0,05). The findings suggest that among the residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the study of SNP Q223R of the LEPR gene cannot be used as a genetic predictor of the formation of overlap syndrome.

Obstructive sleep apnea/hypopnea syndrome (OSAHS) is the most common type of sleep apnea. OSAHS is due to upper airway obstruction. This condition is characterized by repetitive pauses in breathing during sleep despite the efforts of the respiratory muscles and it is generally associated with decreased blood oxygen saturation. The review presents the data available in the literature on the intermediate phenotypes of OSAHS, in the development of which there may be a genetic component. It is stated that a study of the genetic basis for various OSAHS phenotypes will give a better insight into the contribution of genetic factors to the development of the disease. The review describes the genes responsible for a predisposition to the development of four major phenotypes of OSAHS. It characterizes two basic approaches to a molecular genetic study in OSAHS; these are a genetic association analysis and a linkage analysis. Taking into account the wide prevalence and social importance of OSAHS, the latter should be timely prevented and diagnosed. The adequate treatment of OSAHS and its consequences is able not only to reduce the risk of fatal complications of the disease, but also to completely eliminate its symptoms.

Rural development is often analyzed in isolation from agricultural production. The article analyzes the dynamics of dairy cattle breeding indicators in Samara region. The purpose is to link the development of dairy farming with the development of rural areas.

Arnold-Chiari malformation (ACM) is a group of congenital hindbrain malformations affecting the structural relationships between the cerebellum, brain stem, top cervical spinal cord, and bones of the skull base. In clinical practice, ACM types 0 and 1 are more common and types 2, 3, and 4 belong to rare severe (often fatal) congenital malformations. Objective: to study gender differences in the incidence of ACM types 0 and 1 in outpatient neurological practice. Patients and methods. A total 2039 case records of outpatients who had visited a neurologist of the Krasnoyarsk University clinic in 2008–2014 were analyzed. Neurological and neuroradiological (1.5 Tesla brain magnetic resonance imaging, phase-contrast spinal cerebral fluid flow imaging) diagnostic techniques were used. 3.4% (70/2039) of cases were randomized according to the criteria of inclusion and exception. An entire sample included 70 ACM patients (median age, 25 [17; 34] years) (30 (42.8–7.1%) men and 40 (57.2–7.1%) women). Results. There was an increase in the incidence of ACM type 1 in the women than in the men. Conclusion. It is necessary to develop a new strategy for the prophylactic medical examination of patients with ACM to improve primary and specialized outpatient health care.

Export and accumulation of various forms of invertase (EC 3.2.1.26) in the cell wall and culture medium of the yeast Candida utilis was investigated. It was found that there is the high-molecular-weight invertase in the cell wall (CW-form). This form is not exported into the culture medium, and it is by a third more glycosylated than the previously described exported S-form. It was shown that one of the two forms of invertase exported into the culture medium—the glycosylated S-form—is retained in the cell wall, while the other one-the nonglycosylated F-form—was not detected in the cell wall. Based on these results, as well as data on the distribution dynamics of the enzyme in the culture medium and in the cell wall during different growth stages of a yeast culture, we suggested that the nonglycosylated form was exported into the culture medium via the zone of abnormal cell wall permeability and the glycosylated forms of this enzyme (both exported and nonexported) did not use this pathway and the degree of N-glycosylation is an important factor determining the final localization of the enzyme.

Extracoordination reactions of pyridine and piperidine nitrogen bases, and nitrite ion with cobalt complexes of water-soluble porphyrins and tetrasulfophthalocyanine were studied. A method for the modification of polymer systems by immobilization of coordination compounds of tetrapyrrole macrocycles on polymer substrates was developed. Bactericidal properties of the obtained composite films were revealed.

The paper reports on the results of complex investigations into the physical properties of synthetic quartz single crystals and quartz powders in the temperature range of the α-β transition with the use of neutron diffraction and mechanical spectroscopy. The crystal structure of quartz powders with different average sizes of grains is determined in the temperature range up to 620°C and in the α-β transition temperature range. The temperature dependences of the internal friction and the resonant frequency for quartz samples in the vicinity of the phase transition temperature are obtained upon excitation of vibrations in the planes parallel and perpendicular to the Z axis of the quartz crystal. The temperatures at the maxima of the internal friction in the range 560–620°C are determined. The assumptions regarding the possible reasons for the shift of the phase transition temperature are made. It is revealed that the internal friction is characterized by a maximum that is observed in the vicinity of 350°C and is not related to the structural transformations in quartz.

Ozone has been reacted with phenol in thin supported layers, and the dynamics of this reaction has been investigated. The stoichiometry of this reaction coincides with the stoichiometry of the same reaction in solution. Specific reaction rate (β) has been determined for various phenol conversions. The effective rate constant of the reaction, estimated by extrapolating β to zero reaction time, is significantly higher than the rate constant of the reaction in solution. The reaction between ozone and phenol is diffusion-controlled. The reaction products form a barrier layer, which protects the deeper phenol layers against ozone. The barrier layer is as thick as 8–15 phenol monolayers.

The paper presents an investigation into the changes in the hemostasis system of rats during extreme exercises. It has been observed that a single two-hour swimming exercise and an eight-hour imposed running in the treadbahn are accompanied by the expressed shifts in hypercoagulation with the signs of thrombinemia. On the background of the decrease in the anticoagulative and fibrinolytic activity it creates a serious threat of intravascular blood coagulation. The preliminary thirty-day course of extractum Eleutherococci eliminated the signs of intravascular blood coagulation.

The influence of a chronic (30 days) administration of an eleutherococcus extract on the haemostatic system state was studied in immobilized rats. A 3-h immobilization of untreated animals is accompanied by hypercoagulation and thrombinemia signs on the background of downregulation of the anticoagulant and fibrinolytic activity, which leads to a risk of thrombosis. Preliminary 30-day course of eleutherococcus uptake prevents the immobilization-induced thrombosis in rats.

P33 protein was isolated from the cell walls of Candida utilis. Homology between P33 and Bgl2p proteins from the cell walls of Saccharomyces cerevisiae was shown. The important role of these proteins in molecular organization of yeast cell walls was demonstrated using trypsin proteolysis and the "gene disruption" method.

The air contamination content was studied of the air samples taken from the driver's cabs of different vehicles at the time of sharp braking. The air samples contained: CO (0.7-9.7 mg/m3); n-hydrocarbons + divinyl (6.4-130.0 mg/m3); aromatic hydrocarbons (3.6-26.8 mg/m3); acrylonitrile (0.5-1.0 mg/m3) H2S (0.23-0.9 mg/m3); SO2 (1.5-7.05 mg/m3).
