Abstract

Meanwhile, thousands of tons of asphalt are produced annually in our country; here we find a relatively low-cost protective material that is easy to apply and to remove for maintenance and repair [i]. As a rule, asphalts and asphalt-rubber compositions do not inhibit corrosion. However, studies have shown [2] that when asphalts are compounded with wastes from the purification of calcium petroleum sulfonates, these wastes acting as a corrosion inhibitor and active filler, a significant improvement in protective properties of the coatings can be obtained.
