The production environment and its related supply chain have faced with enormous changes by Industry 4.0 (I4.0) emergence. Cloud Manufacturing (CM) is one of the paradigms of I4.0. Composition of Manufacturing Cloud Service (MCS) is an approach for developing the composite services in Cloud Manufacturing System (CMS) considering the MCS providers. Game theory is considered as an effective approach for developing models according to real-world conditions for MCS providers' cooperation and competition. This research proposes a profit function and then develops a mathematical model for MCS composition using game theory and the proposed function. The MCS providers compete with each other in non-cooperative and cooperative games according to the proposed mathematical model. The result of research demonstrates that the cooperation game is more profitable than the non-cooperative game based on the formal cooperation among the MCS providers. Therefore, the payoff of players in the cooperative game is higher than the non-cooperative game. Also, the level of Quality of Service (QoS) in the cooperative game is greater than the game type of non-cooperative. Therefore, the model of cooperative game satisfies the consumers and the MCS providers mutually. The paper recommends applying the cooperation game to service composition in the CMS.

Product development as an iterative combination of different disciplines like design, process planning, engineering, manufacturing, logistics, marketing and sales is a challenging issue. Researchers have argued that high product mortality rate, is not only down to factors related with the design of a certain product, but also the fact that consumer engagement and customer behavior are decisive in the product development stages. Dealing with consumers is a big challenge due to the enormous variety of feedback data and qualitative aspects of them. Mostly, the communication channels with consumers are through Social Media (SM) which are usually unstructured and hard to be analyzed. This research has investigated the importance and influence of the emotional behavior of users in accepting new products through a social media analytical approach. The paper has developed a framework to relate the user emotions and new product feature development plan through SM platforms such as Twitter. It is discovered that emotions can be considered as one the important elements for identifying the subjective nature of product attributes. The paper shows that diverse emotions and their role in New Product Development (NPD) processes, specifically in prelaunch phase. A case study has been designed to show the capabilities of the proposed framework in this research. The pre-launch and post-launch emotion Comparisons indicate the possibility of shifting users’ behavioral focus for the new product while considering the required market indicators.

- Abstract
Due to the growing competition of firms in manufacturing industries, the enhancement of the design of new products for quick and collaborative interaction of stakeholders is inevitable. A customer-oriented approach during the enhancing of product design requires the support of various stakeholders' collaboration from their functionality perspectives. Accordingly, manufacturing firms try to increase the product quality through the continuous collaboration and speeding up of the design process. Moreover, new manufacturing paradigms like cloud manufacturing require global and distributed collaboration of stakeholders. One competitive key necessity for firms is the integration of stakeholders in the design and production stages. This article has proposed an interactive and integrated framework for a cloud collaborative manufacturing system. The proposed framework uses the international STEP standard which ensures data integrity in the whole product development processes. The framework enables stakeholders to work collaboratively and interactively in their disciplines, while it also ensures coherency of modifications to avoid conflicts. The proposed model is introduced using an improvisational design method based on the STEP standard to create an interactive platform with a service-oriented approach and supports stakeholders for their own semantics. In addition to examining the needs of an interactive system, the article provides an architecture for implementation of this perspective. A comprehensive case study is designed to show the capabilities of the proposed framework., Competing Interests: The authors declare that they have no competing interests., (© 2023 Zaringhalam et al.)

- Abstract
The fast and cost-efficient delivery of goods ordered online is logistically a challenging problem. Many firms are looking for ways to cut delivery times and costs by exploring opportunities to take advantage of drone technology. Deploying drones as a promising technology is more efficient from both environmental and economic perspectives in last-mile delivery. This paper considers a last-mile delivery system in which a set of drones are operated in coordination with public transportation system to deliver a set of orders to customer locations. A mathematical model based on Vehicle routing Problem (VRP) is extended to solve this problem. A real-world case inspired by Bremen 2025 transportation paradigm is also developed to validate the developed mathematical formulation. Results show that the sequence of visiting customers and public transport stations highly impacts the remaining charge and efficiency of drone tour planning. Also, using public transport vehicles, which enables drones to charge their battery or to approach customers, can reduce the number of drones required for satisfying the demands in a service area. The results show that there are high potentials to save energy for drone-enabled last-mile delivery by using the public transportation network., (© 2022. The Author(s).)

- Abstract
Cloud manufacturing is a new globalized manufacturing framework which has improved the performance of manufacturing systems. The service-oriented architecture as the main idea behind this framework means that all resources and capabilities are considered as services. The agents interact by way of service exchanging, which has been a part of service composition research topics. Service allocations to demanders in a cloud manufacturing system have a dynamic behavior. However, the current research studies on cloud-based service composition are mainly based on centralized global optimization models. Therefore, a distributed deployment and real-time synchronization platform, which enables the globalized collaboration in service composition, is required. This paper proposes a method of using blockchain to solve these issues. Each service composition is considered as a transaction in the blockchain concept. A block includes a set of service compositions and its validity is confirmed by a predefined consensus mechanism. In the suggested platform, the mining role in blockchain is interpreted as an endeavor for proposing the proper service composition in the manufacturing paradigm. The proposed platform has interesting capabilities as it can increase the response time using the blockchain technology and improve the overall optimality of supply-demand matching in cloud manufacturing. The efficiency of the proposed model was evaluated by investigating a service allocation problem in a cloud manufacturing system in four large scale problems. Each problem is examined in four centralized modes, two, three and four solvers in blockchain-based model. The simulation results indicate the high quality of the proposed solution. The proposed solution will lead to at least 15.14% and a maximum of 34.8 percent reduction in costs and 20 to 68.4 percent at the solving time of the problem. It is also observed that with increasing the number of solvers (especially in problems with larger dimensions) the solution speed increases sharply (more than 68% improvement in some problems), which indicates the positive effect of distribution on reducing the problem-solving time., Competing Interests: The authors declare there are no competing interests., (©2021 Radmanesh et al.)

- Abstract
Additive manufacturing, artificial intelligence and cloud manufacturing are three pillars of the emerging digitized industrial revolution, considered in industry 4.0. The literature shows that in industry 4.0, intelligent cloud based additive manufacturing plays a crucial role. Considering this, few studies have accomplished an integration of the intelligent additive manufacturing and the service oriented manufacturing paradigms. This is due to the lack of prerequisite frameworks to enable this integration. These frameworks should create an autonomous platform for cloud based service composition for additive manufacturing based on customer demands. One of the most important requirements of customer processing in autonomous manufacturing platforms is the interpretation of the product shape; as a result, accurate and automated shape interpretation plays an important role in this integration. Unfortunately despite this fact, accurate shape interpretation has not been a subject of research studies in the additive manufacturing, except limited studies aiming machine level production process. This paper has proposed a framework to interpret shapes, or their informative two dimensional pictures, automatically by decomposing them into simpler shapes which can be categorized easily based on provided training data. To do this, two algorithms which apply a Recurrent Neural Network and a two dimensional Convolutional Neural Network as decomposition and recognition tools respectively are proposed. These two algorithms are integrated and case studies are designed to demonstrate the capabilities of the proposed platform. The results suggest that considering the complex objects which can be decomposed with planes perpendicular to one axis of Cartesian coordination system and parallel withother two, the decomposition algorithm can even give results using an informative 2D image of the object., Competing Interests: The authors declare there are no competing interests., (©2021 Rezaei et al.)

- Abstract
Recently, manufacturing firms and logistics service providers have been encouraged to deploy the most recent features of Information Technology (IT) to prevail in the competitive circumstances of manufacturing industries. Industry 4.0 and Cloud manufacturing (CMfg), accompanied by a service-oriented architecture model, have been regarded as renowned approaches to enable and facilitate the transition of conventional manufacturing business models into more efficient and productive ones. Furthermore, there is an aptness among the manufacturing and logistics businesses as service providers to synergize and cut down the investment and operational costs via sharing logistics fleet and production facilities in the form of outsourcing and consequently increase their profitability. Therefore, due to the Everything as a Service (XaaS) paradigm, efficient service composition is known to be a remarkable issue in the cloud manufacturing paradigm. This issue is challenging due to the service composition problem's large size and complicated computational characteristics. This paper has focused on the considerable number of continually received service requests, which must be prioritized and handled in the minimum possible time while fulfilling the Quality of Service (QoS) parameters. Considering the NP-hard nature and dynamicity of the allocation problem in the Cloud composition problem, heuristic and metaheuristic solving approaches are strongly preferred to obtain optimal or nearly optimal solutions. This study has presented an innovative, time-efficient approach for mutual manufacturing and logistical service composition with the QoS considerations. The method presented in this paper is highly competent in solving large-scale service composition problems time-efficiently while satisfying the optimality gap. A sample dataset has been synthesized to evaluate the outcomes of the developed model compared to earlier research studies. The results show the proposed algorithm can be applied to fulfill the dynamic behavior of manufacturing and logistics service composition due to its efficiency in solving time. The paper has embedded the relation of task and logistic services for cloud service composition in solving algorithm and enhanced the efficiency of resulted matched services. Moreover, considering the possibility of arrival of new services and demands into cloud, the proposed algorithm adapts the service composition algorithm., Competing Interests: The authors declare that they have no competing interests., (© 2021 Sadeghi Aghili et al.)

- Abstract
Industry 4.0 is the digitalization of the manufacturing systems based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) for developing a manufacturing system to gain efficiency and improve productivity. Cloud Manufacturing (CM) is a paradigm of Industry 4.0. Cloud Manufacturing System (CMS) considers anything as a service. The end product is developed based on the service composition in the CMS according to consumers' needs. Also, composite services are developed based on the interaction of MCS providers from different geographical locations. Therefore, the appropriate Manufacturing Cloud Service (MCS) composition is an important problem based on the real-world conditions in CMS. The game theory studies the mathematical model development based on interactions between MCS providers according to real-world conditions. This research develops an Equilibrial Service Composition Model in Cloud Manufacturing (ESCM) based on game theory. MCS providers and consumers get benefits mutually based on ESCM. MCS providers are players in the game. The payoff function is developed based on a profit function. Also, the game strategies are the levels of Quality of Service (QoS) based on consumers' needs in ESCM. Firstly, the article develops a composite service based on a non-cooperative game. The Nash equilibrium point demonstrates the QoS value of composite service and the payoff value for the players. Secondly, the article develops a composite service based on a cooperative game. The players participate in coalitions to develop the composite service based on formal cooperation. The grand coalition demonstrates the QoS value of composite service and the payoff value for the players in the cooperative game. The research has compared the games' results. The players' payoff and the QoS value are better in the cooperative game than in the non-cooperative game. Therefore, the MCS providers and consumers are satisfied mutually in the cooperative game based on ESCM. Finally, the article has applied ESCM in a Healthcare Service to equip 24 hospitals in the best time., Competing Interests: The authors declare that they have no competing interests., (© 2021 Vaziri Goudarzi et al.)

- Abstract
Considering necessary fundamental and structural changes in the production and manufacturing industries to fulfill the industry 4.0 paradigm, the proposal of new ideas and frameworks for operations management of production and manufacturing system is inevitable. This research focuses on traditional methods proposed for storage assignment problem and struggles for new methods and definitions for industry 4.0 based storage assignment concepts. At the first step, the paper proposes a new definition of storage assignment and layout problem for fulfilling storage mechanism agility in terms of automated store and retrieval process (AS/RS) in modern inventories. Then considering the shortcomings of traditional algorithms for storage assignment problem, the paper contributes a new algorithm called SAO/FEM (storage assignment optimization technique), inspired from mechanical engineering discipline for analysis and optimization of storage assignment problem. The proposed new algorithm about stress distribution analogy, and the help of the Finite Element Method and minimum total potential energy theory, proposes a new model for storage assignment optimization. The efficiency of the proposed algorithm in terms of calculation time and the best answer investigated through numerical examples. The article has developed an application for SAO/FEM algorithm as a value creation module and applied new optimized storage positioning in the warehouses., Competing Interests: The authors declare there are no competing interests., (©2021 Tabatabaei et al.)
