Congenital oesophageal stenosis is a rare entity with a frequently delayed diagnosis. Patients are often treated according to diagnosis of GERD until intolerance to semisolid diet appears and CES is suspected. It usually presents in infancy and childhood. We are reporting a case of congenital 0esophageal stenosis in fifteen days old male child. It is very rare to diagnose congenital oesophageal stenosis at this age. The paper focuses on the application of fuzzy logic as a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method to develop an idea of a managerial tool that can predict accidents in different industries. Accidents in industries are not directly dependent on the amount of expenses in different relevant sectors. Fuzzy logic enables us to quantify the opinion of experts with many years of experience and combine those quantified opinions with other parameter affecting the occurrence of accidents in industries which in this case are the amount of expenses in different relevant sectors. This combined assessment generates a relationship between the occurrence of accidents and the amount of expenses in different relevant sectors. The tool will help management to mitigate accidents which is more preferable than reacting to accidents.

Developing countries depend mostly on natural fuel sources such as wood fuel, fossil fuel (kerosene and liquid petroleum gas) etc. for cooking purpose. However, these are expensive and also lead to the threads like deforestation as well as environmental degradation. An alternative renewable energy source like solar energy can contribute a solution towards the adverse crisis of fuel consumption along with environmental pollution of developing countries. Therefore, this study aims to design and fabricate a cost effective solar cooker for domestic purposes as well as performance analysis in order to evaluate its effectiveness. Objective : To examine the relationship between umbilical cord C-peptide and risk of hypoglycemia in infants of diabetic mothers. Method: Sixty neonates born to diabetic mothers were studied in BIRDEM hospital. Thirty infants who developed hypoglycemia at any time during the first 24 hours of age were considered as cases. Another 30 infants who did not develop hypoglycemia during the first 24 hours were considered as controls. Umbilical cord C-peptide levels were measured in both groups. All babies were screened for hypoglycemia at 4, 6, 8, 12, 18 and 24 hours of life. Blood glucose value of less than 2.6 mmol/l was considered as hypoglycemia. Results: Clinical characteristics of cases and controls and their mothers did not show any significant difference. In 73.3% of cases hypoglycemia was detected by 6 hours of age. Most babies were asymptomatic (93.3%). It was found that IDMs who developed hypoglycemia had significantly higher cord C-peptide level at birth compared to those who remained normoglycemic (4.57±2.50 vs. 2.81± 2.11 ng/ml, P= 0.005). That means, there is significant association between raised level of cord C-peptide and hypoglycemia in IDMs. Conclusion: Hypoglycemia in infants of diabetic mothers associated with raised cord blood C-peptide levels. Background: Urinary tract infections are among the most common bacterial infections caused by pathogens with a decreasing susceptibility to several classes of antimicrobials. Objective: The purpose of the present study was to see the trend of sensitivity pattern of Escherichia coli (E. coli) isolated from the urinary tract patients. Methodology: This retrospective study was conducted at Uttara Adhunik Medical College Hospital, Dhaka from 2008 to 2012 for a period of 5(five) years. All patients were within ages 1 month to 80 years, comprising of both male and female, either out or in patients were included as study population. Urine sample was collected and Escherichia coli was isolated and identified as well as the antimicrobial susceptibility patterns was determined. Results: A total number of 16,666 urine samples were collected. No significant changes of susceptibility pattern of Escherichia coli was found to ciprofloxacin, cephradine, ceftriaxone, levofloxacin, nalidixic acid, imipenem and meropenem; however, significant change was detected to amoxicillin, amoxiclav, cefixime, trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole, amikacin, ceftazidime and mecillinam between 2008 and 2012.
